It was my birthday dinner and on the note it said that for the reservation . Doesn t matter cause no one acknowledges it . No champagne or cute note with dessert . For us the place was great , it s low key , has amazing oysters but what we didn t understand was at the end the bartenders / waiter gave us an auto gratuity on two people . We ordered over 200 worth of food and drinks and tipping has never been an issue but for servers who barely showed up . A bartender who was randomly was there besides making drinks that we had to keep asking for ,it s wild that they would auto grat us . We work in the industry and understand but for a slow Sunday where no one barely pays you any mind why would they think it s appropriate to auto grat. Is this what the establishment does . 2 people isn t a party size . I was so excited to make this a regular place until that happened to me on my birthday dinner . It s so weird and gross .

Normally, I wouldnt post a negative review for a place that Ive frequently visited, but last night I experienced terrible service and a lack of courtesy and respect at Simone. I had reserved a table for 2 to celebrate our anniversary as we have the past 2 years. Upon arrival the host informed me that a few large parties, invited extra guests so they no longer had tables for us, except if we wanted to sit outside. This was unacceptable as I specifically reserved an inside table being that it was 90 degrees. Silver linings: we went down to Prey on San Felipe. They got us a table, the environment was very lively and the food was great! Be cautious making a reservation as you may get bumped. Two thumbs down!

Such a cool vibe with incredibly tasty and creative cocktails - Horchata Bliss truly lived up to its name with a defined kick offsetting the creamy, cold, cinnamon deliciousness! The Martini Expresso was rich, while the Black Walnut Old Fashioned had just the right touch of gravitas due to its smoky delivery. Finally, Sunshine in Oaxaca delivered me right to the sea shore. A perfect starter to an evening with a friend! Server was always at the ready and the comfy leather couch allowed an easy conversation flow. Highly recommend, will definitely be back!

Also valet is never free because #tip and I m not paying for germs on my keys.

We came for a Friday happy hour and ordered a bottle of wine and some appetizers. Our bartender brought us plates and silverware, but our food never came out. We finished our bottle of wine and were going to order by the glass because at this point happy hour was almost over. The bartenders never came back around, we saw one on her phone and the one that i think was off the clock was arguing over the playlist with another worker. Happy hour ended and it took another 30 minutes to flag someone down for the check. No one else was sitting at the bar so they were not very busy. They did take off our food because we never received it but never apologized or even seemed surprised? Very weird experience and we will not return, just bad service all around. Cant say anything about how the food is because we never got any.

Positive: Cool lighting Negatives: Service and quality dont match the prices. Got seated at the bar in a rush and had to practically beg for a menu, which they handed over on a QR code stand. Had to get their attention to order. Got a mediocre espresso martini that was too strong. No one bothered to check if I liked it or wanted another round. Ive been to busier bars with better service. No self parking only valet.. ok that s fine. Our first time to come to this place with such good ratings. I usually don t review whether good or bad but this one takes the cake. Sure the place is a bit dark and dank with some musty smells. We don t mind that. We bought 2 drinks and 1 appetizer and after already eaten a big meal,; We just wanted to find a nice place to relax for drinks. Everything was fine until the end. Our bill was $30 and we paid $40. No change we said but we needed change for a $10 bill, asked for two 5 s so we could pay the valet. Our waitress said that she can t give me change for that and that the valet should have his own money to change. I said but I don t want to wait for the valet to give me change. She then said that her Boss doesn t want her to mix money ; changing money for the valet. Everything with her was a No . We left and asked the valet for the change and he said all he had at the moment was $3. So the intent was to give him $5, instead he ended up with $8. We didn t stay but 30 minutes. Now usually we don t mind paying more for valet. I hope that the business didn t do this practice of telling customers that they can t change out bills just so the valet can say he doesn t have any money he can make more. Maybe We should have taken our tip money back from her to which I would have had a $5 to give to the valet. Just ignorance.

I wanted to like this place based on convenient location and hearsay. I gave it a try twice, but will not be back. Both times we walked in, the place was empty, but we were asked if we made reservations . Do we need reservations to be seated in an empty establishment? 1st visit, the food wasnt good and we barely touched it. Cocktails were great, service was slow despite the place being empty. We had to ask for water, silverware, plates and napkins a few times before getting them. 2nd visit, we were seated at the large community table. Metal chairs were super uncomfortable and we didnt feel like staying longer. Food this time was great, drinks were ok. They were out of 1 of the ingredients for our cocktail. We were charged a 20% gratuity for a party of 4, without a word of warning from our waitress. Parking was very difficult to find both times and valet the only option. Overall, this venue is disappointing and overpriced for what it is. Service is subpar, food options are limited, quality is inconsistent and parking difficult. There are many other much better options around town.

My friend and I were looking for a nice place to catch up, relax, and have drinks and food. This place looked nice on social media, so we gave it a try We arrived, and there werent many people. Only four tables were occupied, so we thought, Good, it isnt full, so we should receive better service. They proved us wrong! The service was awful!!! And Jessica, our waitress, was the worst of all. First, we ordered some drinks, and after a long wait, the waitress served them to the wrong table, so we had to wait for her to go and order new ones. Then we ordered some food to share. The charcuterie board was okay, the meatballs were average and overpriced (there were only 3), and the fried calamari well, that was supposed to arrive soon. We have to ask several times for everything: silverware, napkins, water refill, etc and the calamari, still nothing. 40 minutes later, we asked for the calamari again, and apparently, the kitchen skipped our order more wait Finally, when we asked for the check, we told her to split it in two, but when the waitress came back with our cards, she said that they split it but that they charged both checks to just one card!!! Unbelievable... Definitely, we wont be back to that place ever again!

The chicken lollipop was ok, but it was inconsistent.the first order was ok, another person from my table ordered and it was oily and dark. Both orders were dark though, like fried in used oil or the heat was too high. The spinach dip was awful. It tasted like dehydrated spinach and mozzarella was just tossed over it and put in the oven. The drink called with gin, I think its called Elena, did not appeal to my cousins taste, she asked to change it and received so much attitude from the waiter and manager. The manager said from the description my cousin should know what it tasted like, its smoky. We havent had issues with smoky drinks in the past, this one tasted like fuel. The cheque took extremely long for us to get it, i couldnt wait to leave. I had high hopes because the place looked inviting when we parked and was the mellow vibe we were looking for, but we left hungry because of flavorless and basic food, and upset because of attitudes from the establishment. I ordered a sparkling water, a Topo Chico was brought with no glass. I asked for a glass and our waiter never brought if. I asked the food runner for a glass and he brought me one finally. The music selection was decent. I will not be back to this establishment.

Wanted to love this place considering we found it on Tik Tok; it s been on our list of places to try in Houston since moving here from the DMV. Unfortunately, beyond the beautiful patio, we found the entire experience lacking. Our server recommended the Elena G&T which is a wonderful cocktail for those who like peaty flavors with their gin. I was not a fan so I asked to exchange it for something else. We were told that it s against their policy so we asked to speak to the manager. This is where things got interesting . Our server & food runner begins passive aggressive behavior saying things like I only have two hands when reminding them that we placed 3 orders of the same item & that the manager is busy but she ll come at her availability. We asked another time & he said I don t know what the eff you want me to do. Elena, the manager, never came to our table & after asking for her several times, I went inside to discuss my bill with her. The establishment was empty despite the claim of her being busy & she was sitting at the bar with the same drink (ironic, right?) I told her that I had been waiting for her & she told me that she was busy & thought I had left. She also went on to tell me that they do not replace drinks if there s nothing wrong with them. I asked her how she would know if she never came to the table to investigate the issue. Apparently people have been complaining about this drink so they have this policy because customers send it back. Have you considered that if you have so many customers on the fence about it that, for one you don t recommend it when customers ask what s good bcs it s an acquired taste & two, give them a warning of the peat that it s gonna be like a mouthful of smoke in your drink. I left it alone & closed my tab with a very poor tip but the world traveler, cocktail enthusiast & foodie in me honestly felt compelled to share my experience here. Food? Lollipop chicken - average similar to air fryer chicken Spinach dip - interesting take on a classic the cheese dip is poured over raw spinach Samosas - my friend says they were good Drinks? Aperol Spritz - decent I honestly make a better one Passion Colada - pretty good Environment? Beautiful patio Service? Well, for an $18 cocktail that your server recommended - I expect you to at least come & speak to me if there s an issue. It was so disappointing & disrespectful. THIS ONE WAS A TIK TOK REC FAIL.

Please PLEASE get better wait staff or retrain the staff you have. We came early one evening and it wasn t busy but drinks took way too long to get to us and there was so many times our waitress ignored us walking past us that finally we just decided to leave bc service was too slow and not very welcoming. We seemed more of a burden than customers. After we had asked for our check a different person ended up closing us out and we never even saw our original waitress again lol this place is ok and complimentary valet is great since it s small but the service is what will be the end of this place if it doesn t improve. We most likely won t ever come back.

Looking for a spot to meet a friend near the Village for a Saturday afternoon catchup, we went to Simone on Sunset. It appeared empty upon arriving at 4 pm / 16h though once turned the corner there were two tables eating and a room hosting a tango class. Understanding that it was a quiet time at the restaurant, we went to the bar to order two drinks and a couple of happy hour snacks - truffle Parmesan popcorn and mixed samosas. The popcorn was a generous serving of popcorn covered in freshly shaven Parmesan cheese and truffle salt. Definitely ask for a spoon to catch all the salty goodness of the Parmesan and truffle salt that fall to the bottom of the bowl. The samosas, a mix of lamb, chicken and vegetable were average. We sat on a sofa in a part of the restaurant where it was very dark even on a sunny summer day. For my first visit, the overall impression was average. What still stands out was the tango class taking place there and parking on the street, which I can imagine would be difficult during the week when Sunset Boulevard is busier. Parking: During the week, difficult to find on street parking. Better chances to find free on street parking during the day on the weekend. Alternatively, there s valet service.

First time I ve ever written a review and oh wow. Saw this place on instagram and thought it looked super cool so my friend and I made reservation to go tonight at 7:30. We were a few minutes late due to parking and once we got inside, there was not hostess or waiters at the door so we waited by the bar. A hostess came in a few minutes later and, after we confirmed we had reservations, she said oh wow- i was just about to cancel your table and then walked us over to what is more clearly a wayfair coffee table that had been chipped away at with a tired couch that is similar to that of a college party house. I cannot hang a picture on a wall for the life of me, let alone design an entire restaurant, but whoever decided this would work should try and eat a meal at the place they re staging. Our waiter was a young guy who was super nice and started the evening strong, asking what we would like to start with to drink and asked about appetizers. We ordered an aperol spritz and strawberry margarita- both delicious. They would have tasted better if they hadn t already started melting on the bar for the 40 minutes it took to get back to us. It was a busy night and maybe things got packed at the bar- so the wait was understandable but still, 40 minutes? And then we ordered some appetizers. The spinach dip, chicken lollipops, and meatballs. Spinach dip had no cheese on it- and needed salt and cream. Condiments? Forget about it. Also, chicken lollipops are just a fancy nickname to chicken wings, and the delicious sauce they had listed? Ketchup. But the real problem was the meatballs. They have 2 meatballs listed: regular and chicken. What we got did not look like regular meatballs, and I KNOW we said regular, but when our food came out an hour after we ordered it, we were starved. Now I m no picky eater, and my palate is not in favor of the ultra spicy, but when I tell you that I felt like a dragon heaving fire in an inferno- I am not kidding. Literally, the food was what I expect going to a game watch party. I felt like I was at someone s parents home in their living room eating tired spinach dip about to watch family feud between Sunday night football. And the prices? I ll have to donate blood to keep up with. The redeeming part of the night was the kind waitress who clearly was picking up the young guys slack- he forgot to bring us silverware for which we asked for upon receiving meatballs. He came back 20 minutes later and said sorry- I checked on the forks and they re all still being washed but I figured y all would figure a way to eat the meatballs. I m sorry- WHAT??? Meatballs on the couch with no fork?? My mother made it clear to me at the ripe age of 2 that forks are a must and sir this is a RESTAURANT. I called my mom to apologize for not putting my reading skills to the test prior by reading some reviews. Will be reading reviews here on out.

Ive been coming to Simone since 2015 and i ve seen it changed. In 2015 it was smaller than it is now. Always any time of the week has been great service. Today I went turned out only by reservation we could be sat, there was 5 tables empty including 2 in the patio and the manager said they were all booked, even the big table in front was booked she said. This was after we sat in an area in the back and she the manager remove us from there saying it was reserved. There was nothing that said reserved. Thanks to this manager will never go back. The worst part of it all was before I knew she was the manager I was talking to a gentleman and she came over and she said he is just a bar back you are stuck with me and I am the manager. Yes I was upset about this horrific experience what made it worst she referred to this gentleman as just a bar back . My son started in the restaurant business as a bar back and became a manager. Thank you, Franco

A bit rude on the outside with the valet, but could of been the wrong day for the attendee. We let it go just because. The service was great, the atmosphere was zen, MD the specials on the drinks were what we needed within our budget. Food was awesome and low key addictive. Overall, we will be going back soon and might make this our meet up place for catching up.

Went for dinner and wine. The valet was rude. We parked where the manager told us to park previously and the valet complained that we didn t park close enough to the other cars (we were in our designated parking lane). The valet was trying to jam cars into spots to get more customers parked. He parked another car so close knowing we could get in intentionally that we were going to have to crawl in on the passenger side. We confronted him and he finally moved the offending vehicle temporarily. Will never come back and will tell others about the incident. My friends and I decided to give this place a chance and were looking forward to what the menu promised. Honestly, it failed in almost every way. Their bathrooms were clean. They offered valet parking. Thats about it. The large charcuterie board was $55 and it was quite skimpy. That being said, the board was the best part of our entire meal despite us staying a couple hours, maybe more, having appetizers, a board, pizza, multiple drinks, plus two bottles of wine. The food was mediocre and the servings quite small. However, the worst part of our experience was the service. Oh goodness - food items were never delivered, waitresses never knew what was on the menu or what drinks they served, we waited forever for refills, they flat out denied a request for a different glass (long story), it was very hot and their fans were broken, the bill was ridiculously wrong, etc, etc. I would never come back here nor recommend it to anyone I care about.

We were put in the wine room - where another private party had to continuously walk through. As well, the servers were in and out grabbing wine non stop! It took 30 minutes to get our first drinks - they were mediocre. It took nearly an hour for our food to hit the table. The pizza dough was dense and undercooked - the manager/owner came over to apologize and got upset, arguing she is from Italy and she makes the dough from scratch. It tasted like frozen pizza from the grocery store . The pita chips with the spinach dip were straight out a bag from the grocery store AND stale. For price points like $14 - $16 cocktails, $12-$16 appetizers, and a $16 TINY PIZZA that might feed one person and was only margarita . We aren t impressed. On top - like mentioned, the manager/owner was very defensive, and our server clearly wasn t in a great mood (I get it - I m a server too, some nights aren t great nights, but it s your job to provide a good experience for your guests regardless). Their Instagram is very misleading - the pizza looks ENTIRELY different on their social media. We love pizza, literally travel all over to eat it, and my girlfriend is an executive chef for an Italian restaurant . We always look at photos first and their photos looked promising. Unfortunate way for my friend to spend her birthday.

I wanted to like this place, it s really cute! They did get my reservation right, and we were seated promptly. However, the food was basically inedible. The waygu beef meatballs were tiny (3 small meatballs for $18), they had no seasoning, and they were cold in the middle. Frozen perhaps? The spinach artichoke dip had so much paprika on top it was gross. That s all you could taste was the paprika. I had two bites and didn t finish the rest. The wine list was ok, a few decent selections. My husband ordered one of their special old fashioneds and wound up with burnt bits in his drink that he had to fish out of his glass. Service was sub par. There weren t a lot of people in there for a Friday night, and I had to keep flagging down the waitress. I do work for a wine bar here in Houston, and occasionally fill in as a manager/server when people get sick so I m pretty easy going and understanding as far as servers go, but this was ridiculous to say the least. I expected a lot more from a place in that area.

Came here last night for date night and ended up leaving so angry. The service was absolutely despicable. We started by ordering some drinks at the bar and the bartenders were arguing with each other in front of the customers. We got seated in the back and it was probably 20 minutes before a server even came to take our order. We waited about 45 minutes just for some samosas, shrimp, and meatballs. While we were waiting another server came and offered us more drinks. We said no, so she immediately asked if she could close our tab. I thought that was rude I felt like she was just trying to get rid of us. At some point I did go to the restroom and they don t even have soap in their pumps which is concerning because I saw quite a few of the staff go into those exact restrooms Finally the food came and the samosas and shrimp were fine (overpriced for the taste and portions in my opinion) but the meatballs were the worst food I ve ever tasted at a restaurant. The meatballs tasted like there was zero seasoning or herbs, just ground chicken. And even worse, the texture Was like they had been boiled. The sauce tasted like tomatoes, vinegar, and water. It had a metallicy flavor to it, too. We finished our food and kept waiting and waiting that the waiter would come give us our check and we could pay and carry on with our night but we ended up waiting probably another 45 minutes. By this point we were so upset we went to go find her ourselves. Another server was super helpful and was able to give us our check. Finally our actual server came and went to get our card from the bar for us. While we were waiting for her to come back, who I assume is the manager came to ask if we were done with the table and he noticed the meatballs on the table so he asked if we wanted them to go so told him how terrible they were. He simply said ok and walked away. No apology or anything like he didn t even care that we were upset. By the end of our time at this place we were just ready to get out of there it was so disappointing.

If you like good service, then this is not the place for you. The level of service provided does not match the price that you are paying for food/drinks. If I m going to pay $17 for a cocktail or $25 for a pizza, I do not want to be ignored during my first experience here. My girlfriend and I did not receive any check ups until we were ready to pay. We were greeted by one server for drinks/food, but after that she disappeared and never checked up on us. We went a full 1 hour of no service/2 min bite check after our apps and entree. We did not know who our server was. Funny enough, the tables around us received a lot of service because they complained about the long wait while the server had their back turned to us. We understand kitchen can get busy and didn t complain when French fries took 30 mins to come out. It wasn t until after we done with our meal and I was obviously looking around for help that we were receiving some attention from a different server/hostess. She was not very friendly and sounded very upset when I brought up being charged regular prices vs happy hour. I think the cherry on top was their suggested tip on the bottom of the receipt. 20% - 35%. I ve worked the fine dining industry for awhile now. If I m being charged high prices, I expect a higher level of service than what most restaurants provide. This is the first time in years where I ve been genuinely upset with the service provided and would never allow the attitude given to me and the tables around us to pass.

Also, I really wanted to have some more choices on the menu for food with my wine. We sat close to the fountain outside and we are talking and enjoying the wine when 2 employees drag a hose over to the fountain and turn it on and talk about maintenance on the fountain. I had to step over the hose and listen to their conversion and not my own. When I go out I expect to pay for the experience and atmosphere and good food and service of which I got none. So many other better places to spend your money.

Went on a date night to Simone on Sunset and it was a good experience. Grabbed some drinks and shared a pizza, all excellent. The atmosphere was perfect for a date night! Excellent service, very attentive and accommodating staff. I will be returning in the future

Service was good but the indoor atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired....the building feels unfinished... the small plates are decent but nothing stands out. Got a reply today from the owner to not come back ..... no worries there.

Portion size of the lollipop chicken and waffles is an A. Youll eat all of your food and smile. Waffles are a solid B+. Wheat with blueberries and strawberries. Syrup was EXACTLY enough to sweeten them. Atmosphere is grown and sexy. Quaint low-key. Dim lighting. Go check out Simone on Sunset right after a beautiful sunrise.

I met some dear friends here for dinner. Food was amazing along with my beverage. Only issue I had was a little confusing that we did not know exactly who our waitress was and did not visit our table often. We had to go inside and to request condiments. Other then that Ill be back to give it a 5 star vs 4.5 stars. #rudysfoodadventure
