First time in this place last night. Janine went above and beyond... she could see that I was hungry and let me eat most of the pasta salad she had brought in for her lunch. Fairly groovy conversations with folks at the bar. I really like this place and look forward to coming back soon. Update 8/2024: This bartender, Jacob, tonight (Sunday 2130ish) tried to say that the ice in the cup I ordered cost them $1.35, so thats why I had to pay $4 for a club soda. Most dive bars I go to, the bartender is cool enough to give me a soda water as long as Im in there paying for booze. This place has really gotten chintzy.

Nice place. Has some slots and gambling and 2 pool tables and hosts tournaments occasionally (actually really good players). Bartenders are really nice and friendly. There is food and drinks and bring your own hard liquor as they do not have a liquor license since it is a Texas ice house. Bathrooms are clean and I didnt feel uncomfortable like I didnt belong or was worried about my car being broken into. Only down side is parking but thats Houston for you. Definitely absolutely recommend.

Love you, Nomad!!! I shall return. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed. What about people like me who suffer from asthma? And allergies. Smoke is irritating for my respiratory and sinus systems. Not fair to expose people to second hand smoke when they dont smoke themselves.

Got wasted they took care of me till I was good. I would give 5 stars but you dont have AC. That or get more fans and ceiling fans. Theyre alcohol options are limited to beer and wine in case you dont read the details carefully.

My wife and I stopped here to have a couple of beers and ended staying there almost till the bar closed. The beer was cold and the waitress would stop by to refill the beer buckets with ice. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive and the patrons were just as friendly. The band that was playing there sounded very good and we met some new friends there. We will be visiting there again.

Good biker friendly beer bar. Laid back. Good folks. To those who may be wondering, I made it home alright. I only had a short distance to go. 2/1 This is a great place. I went there tonight on a whim. I wasnt expecting live music, but they had an excellent band called Tres Blondies. Some folksy rock, Cajun, and 50s rock n roll including Richie Valens. Check out Nomad and Tres Blondies if you get a chance. Bartender Melanie was really nice.

Previous review is right. It is a TRUE hole in the wall. As a full time traveler passing down through, as soon as I saw the sign I knew it was meant to me. It reminds of one of my favorite dives back home. Friendly, large garage doors open up to the inside. Its a nice breezy day and its beautiful. Cheap beers, friendly people, homey vibe. All good.

Nomad Tavern had just the right amount of dive bar and the most random selection of music. Songs went from classic rock to R&B to alternative to country to 80s pop. Everyone there seemed to have enjoyed themselves. There was a stripper pole in the middle of the floor next to the bar with a sign that said use at own risk. I can dig it. I bet it gets the kind of rowdy fueled only by the cheap beer from the bar. Cheap was right. Less than $3 a beer. This is the quintessential less is more. I have yet to be here for their Thursday steak night. It will happen. Some random old guy walked up to my friends girlfriend and introduced himself. It was kind of weird until we all realized it was the owner. He had wanted to introduce himself to us as he recognized that we were new people. That was pretty cool. The kind of guy that grew up in the area and now has a small business in the area he gew up in.

First time here and loved it from the parking lot on. It looks like a biker bar isnt, only bc of the motorcycle on the roof. Quaint little open air bar with nice cars in the parking lot. Seems like some locals swing by after work but they werent off putting for 2 young females stopping by. Its quiet, good drink specials, pool tables and nice bartender! Will definitely come back!

This place should be on Harry Hines in Dallas! I agree with Jeff. Its the closest thing to a Harry Hines bar from Dallas that Ive found anywhere. I was in town on business for 10 days in March 11 and spent almost every night here and loved it. A TRUE hole in the wall place with great cold beer. Its Feb 12 and Im back for a few nights. See ya there!

This is a hole in the wall joint the people there were very nice even though to some it may look like a rough place....it is not...there are people of every kind who go there and we just really enjoyed having a place to go where we could drink a few beers AND smoke... no smoking in bars in Houston, but you can in this one because it is considered a patio bar :)
