Pretty good first impression today (Sunday, about 1855). Very clean and well-maintained restroom. I never had to wait for service. The female bartender handed me a menu first thing, which I liked because money is indeed an object. They have a nice selection of beer. You can get Lone Star, Red Stripe, Coors Banquet and others for $4, which I believe to be a reasonable price for a place like. Because its happy hour (2-12), you can get a shot of well liquor for $4, and thats what I did, opting for the silver well tequila. Many bars these days will quote you a price and then when you go to pay, its higher than what they said it was when you sat down, because of tax. I really appreciate it when a bar includes the required tax in the price, and then rounds it to the nearest quarter. It just makes things easier on everybody. This place must do that, because I paid $7.50 (+tip) for my first round, while fully expecting to pay 8 bucks. Thanks yall! Ill be back the next time Im in the neighborhood.

This is one of our go-to spots to enjoy a nice conversation and easy-going atmosphere on nights out. I love the theme and vibe, it is cozy and cohesive. As someone who loves to sail, and used to live aboard a ship, it brings back the adventure.

Loose Cannon is a cozy dive that has a little something for everyone. This is one of those spots where you can walk through the door knowing that whether youre alone or with company youre going to have a nice time. Ive been to Loose Cannon with friends and/or family several times. Parking is never an issue with additional spots to the left of the building and each time I go I have the same experience: the bartenders and patrons here are super welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere is extremely cozy, and the drinks are comparatively cheap but delicious. They also host occasional events such as steak and comedy nights that I have yet to try, but my family has told me they enjoy. If youre looking for a no-nonsense come-as-you-are-good time, I couldnt recommend Loose Cannon more.

Visited here when it was Might as well Lounge and liked that bar, so I had to come back to check out Loose Cannons and see if there was any changes, came on a Saturday night not to packed,the crowd was definitely neighborhood bar types which is what I liked, and both bartenders were totally cool guys, had two drinks the hurricane very good and the florita daiquiri which was kinda bland, ill definitely be back

Welcome to the neighborhood. Went w Painkiller on my first trip in and it was excellent. Cool vibe and friendly service. Will certainly be visiting regularly. Looks like they have a great selection of libations. Update: went in on Sat Dec 3rd about 6pm to have a HH cocktail. Was meeting a friend and there were a few single seats at the bar, so I opted for table. A female bartender w short hair was working. I sat at a table and waited about 15 mins, with her looking in our direction but never coming to wait on us. Got up and left, and that was my last visit to Loose Cannon. Too many options in the neighborhood to be ignored service. Good luck LCB. Hope you survive, but with that level of service I doubt it.

Loose Cannon is the best dive bar of Spring Branch period. Formerly Might as Well Lounge and revamped by the great minds behind Lei Low, locals and travelling sailors alike will appreciate the attentive bar service here paired with a spectacular craft cocktail menu at attractive prices. My personal favorite cocktails are the Corn & Oil (a rum old fashioned) and the Frozen Hurricane made with the proper lemon and passion fruit recipe. Even better is you can get these drinks, and rotating draft/canned beers plus wine for Happy Hour every day. They even offer Teacher/Military/Industry discounts! The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting with nautical flair abound. Bar seating or any of the tables and booths have views of the TV s for sports events or movie night, plus a small patio out front for nice weather days. The bathrooms are always clean and tidy which is a pleasant surprise for a dive bar. There is no food kitchen, however certain days of the week will have offerings like Steak nights from an outside chef, Taco Tuesdays, and more. I encourage patrons to keep up with their social media for nightly offerings. Free parking can be found out front or in the lot to the West easily. Fair Winds and Following Seas, Loose Cannon. 5/5 Every visit.

Well that was a surprise came here after a Texans preseason game (left at half like a true fan). Cocktails were great, awesomely priced, well made. No complaints from me at all. The dishes were constantly being cleaned before making the next drink which always makes you feel good. The bathrooms were also very clean as well. Next time I will come earlier so I can hang out longer and shoot some pool.

Tried it out for the first time. Tried to order a couple cocktails and everything I asked for the bartender didnt know how to make or didnt have the stuff to make (dirty martini, rum punch & bourbon sour.). Kinda disappointed in the bourbon sour because its just bourbon and sour mix. He was extremely friendly tho. I just ordered a can beer. He did appearantly make a really good old fashioned for my girl .

So glad that I found this little hidden gem, I adored it! The vibe in there was super smooth and I felt super comfortable. We did cause a little rukus but not too bad, we just felt great. The bartenders were patient with us and they made incredible drinks! The have a large selection of drinks and beers. The jukebox was fun to mess with since it has been a while, they also have a backside alley way smoking section which was nice. The whole place was clean and there is a small amount of seating but it works out. There is a pool table and some board games as well. They have great specials and happy hour. I definitely plan on coming back!

Cool neighborhood bar. Walking distance from my house. Never realized it was there until I did a Google search for happy hour near me. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Its a small place but very chill. Perfect for a walk in the neighborhood with a quick stop at Might as Well then a walk back home. When you walk inside, youll get an old smokers hangout smell but it gives the place character. Definitely considering becoming a regular here.

Yeah buddy! First visit tonight and YES we will be back. We arrived relatively early for a Friday - were old now - and it was perfect; quiet and cosy with just a few others in there, and a really fabulous bartender who knew her stuff and was friendly and fun and QUICK to make the drinks but otherwise left us to ourselves. Loved the little booths by the window; loved the decor; the bathrooms are so simple and put-together! Love to have this place so local to where we live. I think its my fave watering hole in the Branch now. Yay!

I used to love this place, my boyfriend and I have been there 20+ times since it opened and tonight the new bartender proceeded to ask us to leave because she claimed my boyfriends ID wasnt legit. Hes 28 years old and that same new bartender has served us at least the last 5 times weve been there. To be honest she was drunk and because of that the bar just lost loyal customers thanks to the bartender being drunk and rude. We will not be going back.

I came here with a group of people and I gotta say, I didn t like it at all! I kind of got the feeling that this place was a little prejudice against a few of my friends. Wow does this really still exist?! You think being a neighborhood bar it would have been a great place for everyone to hang out in the Spring Branch area, but apparently not and its so sad. Yup!!! I will not be giving them my business anymore. On a good note; there is a pretty good bar down the street (heading east), it s called THE BRANCH. I definitely would recommend this place and you won t be sorry to have tried them. They are so welcoming to all their customers and I would definitely recommend them!!!!

This used to be a really great local bar, but unfortunately it was taken over by some pretentious owners from the Heights and it has gone downhill ever since. The original owners used to live right down the road from me here in Ridgecrest and now its just a completely alien, awkward, and uncomfortable place. The current owners have no understanding that this was a long-standing, wonderful watering hole for so many of us here, before they came and took over and changed everything for the worse. The bartenders are very arrogant and rude, the drinks are watered down and weak, and the prices are ridiculous. If you are a local Spring Branch resident and want a place to unwind and have a beer, I would highly recommend going somewhere else.
