While my recent experience at the event may not have met my expectations, I believe its important to offer a balanced review. Despite my personal feelings, I decided not to give a one-star rating. Its important for me to provide honest feedback and recommendations. Its worth noting that your experience at this venue greatly depends on your expectations. Many attendees at the event seemed to thoroughly enjoy the show, so perhaps you might too. The energy of the crowd was unmatched. I had purchased a VIP burlesque show ticket through Eventbrite, and I had high expectations as someone who frequents similar events. Unfortunately, I didnt feel at ease as I walked around the city block and venue dressed up. It was extremely difficult to take in the strong urine smells and lack of cleanliness of the men s restroom. I acknowledge that this was partly due to my oversight in researching the venue beforehand. Upon arrival, I wasnt greeted or guided to my seat, which was unexpected for a VIP ticket holder. Its possible that my late arrival may have contributed to this, but I was hoping for the same level of service that Ive experienced at other VIP events. Additionally, there were no servers available to take drink orders, and I was asked to vacate my seat and relocate, despite having paid for a VIP experience. To clarify, I wasnt greeted upon entry, and no one offered to take my drink order. Instead, I was only approached to vacate my seat, which was quite disappointing. The VIP ticket purchase didnt mention anything about being seated with a group, and when I raised these concerns with a reluctant server, I was able to speak with the shows co-producer. I explained that the tickets description was somewhat misleading, as it didnt stipulate the seating arrangements or the possibility of being asked to move from my seat. Nevertheless, it seemed that the co-producer was more defensive than understanding of my situation as a VIP ticket holder. Overall, I left the event feeling as though I didnt belong and that my presence was not welcomed.

Very dark atmosphere as the name would imply. Enter bar thru the back only. On site parking is very limited. Drinks are cheap and beer is reasonably priced. We ve been here twice for Burlesque show which they have every other month. Chill vibe. We ve enjoyed ourselves.No food served here or snack that I could tell. They have a juke box and pool tables for when a show is not happening.

Venture further down Harrisburg and at the end of the rail line, youll find this venue. Its dark and its loud and the drinks are great. Reminds me of an old bar in Austin (Im old & cant remember the early 2000s) or the Dungeon in New Orleans but with a touch of Houston flare . The skull wall is amazing and the flickering lights make it seem like theyre going to jump out at you. Welcome to the East End catacombs. Update: Ive been several times since my first visit and it keeps getting better. I feel comfortable showing up on my own and having a drink or 2 by myself as I wait for friends to meet me for a show.

A mixed bag for shows. The local shows are often great and well priced. The pegstar shows can get expensive. Drink selection is average, but pricing is amazing. 5$ can get you a shot and a beer. For food you can have chips. Seriously if you need food this aint the place unless a truck happens to be set up. The bartenders are friendly however due to the often live shows and noise you may need to write down your order on a whiteboard. Black Magic Social Club reminds me of the old dives and venues which are mostly gone these days. Cheap, fun and loud.

We had a blast at our first Black Magic experience / concert Saturday night. Necrofier was awesome. Everyone at the club really friendly and the staff super nice and efficient. We parked on the street and the walk to club was well-lit and we felt safe.

Ive been here about 3 or 4 times now. Its a cool little bar. The jukebox is filled to the brim with punk and metal from the Misfits to Judas Priest, the live shows here are almost always mixed great and the decor is awesome. Just a heads up though, the restrooms here suck as in being claustrophobically small, and the only other real drawback is their beer selection is a bit, minimalist. It being a fairly newly opened place, I give them a pass on that while theyre still figuring everything out and getting the business off the ground. Cool staff, great atmosphere if youre into punk/metal/the occult. Definitely isnt going to be a rap or country fans cup of tea place. 2 pool tables inside with ample room to play as well, plenty of tables to sit at inside or outside. Looking forward to many more visits here.

From the outside of the building you might think it would be a dump at best. However, once you enter, its a clean bar with friendly staff and an almost Black Sabbath vibe to it. The acoustics are great for an intimate musical performance. Nice smoking area out back. Really just a fun quirky place. I totally recommend this venue.

PARKING TIP : IF THE STREET IS FULL, they have parking at the back, and the back entrance is by the benches. Place is small, but it packs a punch , and has decent price on bevs. Just wish they had a menu. Local bands come here to perform and the acoustics and sound is actually awesome, as well as the ambiance. If youre in the mood for a rocker / biker bar type of bar with live music, this is it.

The Black Magic Social Club is an exciting new bar and live music venue hidden on the east side of Houston. This cool spot is a cross between a heavy metal speakeasy and occult lair. Murals of half naked sorceresses pierce your soul as the band rages on stage in front of a wall of skulls. You can t get any more metal than that!
