Seemed to be a relaxing place inside of the airport but when I decided to move my seat to sit by the window, a waitress was very rude to me. She misunderstood that I already paid to eat, but I can t believe how instantly rude she was without trying to hear an explanation from why I was sitting in a different area.

Even considering it s airport food, keep your expectations very very low. I ordered breakfast (potato skin scramble). The food itself was sloppy and looked rushed despite it taking almost 40 mins. (the drink came 10 mins later.). It s hard to make bacon and potato skins taste bland, but props to Ember for making the near impossible, possible. I ll give them another try next trip and amend my rating if it merits it

Went out of my way to find Ember based on Eater s list of where to eat in IAH and couldn t be more disappointed. iPad based ordering was meh, somewhat clunky, then sat wondering if my order was registered as others around me were getting their food while I just waited. No server ever really acknowledged me but then suddenly someone showed up behind me with my food. Ordered the tempura broccoli and Nashville chicken sandwich. Do they know what tempura is? Because these were giant blobs of fried pancake batter the size of baseballs. Super dense and thick, not light and crispy. I don t think they know what Nashville hot chicken is either because this was just the regular fried chicken sandwich with raw jalapeño s on top. No spicy sauce or anything like that. Also, I don t think the chicken could have been any thinner, it was really a fried batter, coleslaw and jalapeño sandwich that left me wishing for some chicken. All this for $60!

I had to get up and ask for silverware the drinks that we ordered and they had attitude. But all the other tables were greeted politely silverware, brought out to them. But they were White.

The food is below average. The service is terrible. This is my first 1 Star Review ever, and its well-deserved. You order everything from a QR Code...ok. The gratuity is included....ok. Food was pricey but delicious, especially for an airport restaurant. We enjoyed the short rib poutine and the half chicken. One thing to note is that the chicken takes 25 minutes and thats not indicated on the menu. If you have a tight connection go with something else. Paola was able to work with the kitchen and get our food out so we could eat quickly and make our flight. Shes by far one of the friendliest and most hospitable restaurant team members Ive interacted with in a very long time.

I rarely write a review for less than four stars - usually I follow Emersons dictum: ...speak the affirmative... and ignore everything you reject - but I found this place to be wanting. Travelers be advised you can do better just a few steps away. This restaurant dominates the middle of a high traffic area, and Im sure it will do well no matter what. But I feel that the prices are elevated way beyond what is required and the quality and quantity of food served was subpar. (see photos) Procedurally they ask customers to tip before food and service are received. Dont fall for it - refuse to tip until you see what kind of food and service you receive. Caveat emptor. Credit where credit is due: a solid beer selection plus ample and airy seating.

We had to cancel part of our order and the waitress told us that the refund was going to be reflected in 24 hours. At least 2 weeks have passed and nothing has happened. The links to get the receipts didnt work. I tried to get the refund through the website and no response was received, also I tried to contact their customer service by mail with the same results. Bad experience, next time going to look for another option at the airport.

The place is well located but the juice could not charge my phone neither powerbank... The hamburger was just bad, super dry, bacon and bread cold no sauce. Also you have to tip in advance so the waiters just do the barely strict minimum. Food was terrible. Looks like a nice place but had the turkey club and it was basically $2 deli turkey from the grocery store, not actual turkey. I asked if I could get sweet potato fries, and they said no, it would be an extra $8.99. It was very weird. Then when it came time to pay, they took down my whole card number on an iPad. The whole thing was weird and the food was bad. I wouldn t recommend this place. The whole thing was $27.

It was decent but when I had trouble processing my card on the online system the waiter said - that s the only option. I said I will just go to another place and then he said - yeah whatever .and that summarizes the service. Waiting 20min before we even got asked for water or anything (which we had to ask for). This place really manages to take service out of a restaurant and still prompt you for 18% tip. Disappointing because could be great and seems like the workers are busy, just no time to provide service.

If I m expected to use the QR menu & ordering system, I expect when I write in add mayo pls on the additional instructions, I should get a side of mayo. I asked the food runner for it and .nothing. I fly quite frequently out of IAH and I make it a point to get to the airport early so I can eat here. I always get the Sweet/Spicy wings and an Old Fashioned. Sitting in C Terminal in the Houston Intl Airport is a great spot called EMBER!! This place is great! Very welcoming and intimate atmosphere for an airport restaurant. Yes, this is a restaurant. My wife had an allergy that the chef himself came out to get the details. He advised on what fell outside of her restrictions and even came up with a great combination of items to compromise a meal that she could enjoy!! Houstonian here. Just sat down for breakfast tacos. This is the 2nd time I ve had them in about 6 months. My experience has been the same both times. Except the food was better the first time. The service here is non-existent. You order through QR code and pay tip to the gods. One of the many servers hanging out might eventually realize you re there and you ll get your drink. If you ordered a large, make sure you confirm. The food was great the first time. I had the tacos first and then again this time. This 2nd time the tacos were done and under a heating light for about 10-12 minutes ish while waiting for the potatoes. The tacos themselves were sweet! Like as if they actually put sugar in it. It was weird and not what I was expecting. The ambiance is cool. Great design. Bar looks dope. You might get better service there. It s unfortunate because the only other breakfast options for gates C1 -C15 are the terrible CIBO sandwiches or Wendy s. Next time I ll go for the Wendy s.

Drink (Moscow Mule) is A++. Other than that the meal is uninspired and over priced. Crab cakes were mushy, and the aioli, though spicy, is pretty basic. Salad had fresh perky lettuces, but the zesty dressing was boring other than the citrus kick. Wait time for food AND drink was over 15 mins which will not thrill many travelers- though the establishment offers to-go and QR code ordering systems. Overall impression? It s an OK place to find respite between flights, but do t come here hungry or in a hurry.

Came for breakfast before flight, ordering from digital menu is convenient I guess, but food was mediocre at best and service was non existent. Omelet was bland, had to walk to another table to get salt and pepper. Flagged someone down to get water, never came back for refill on either that or coffee. You re better off getting something from counter service 50ft away. You d get the same service and better food as all they do is drop off your plate then ghost you.

One of the best airport meals ever. Nashville hot chicken excellent! Fries- very good Server- Kristen outatanding She walked me thru menu on her own phone while mine searched to load menu. Tried to sell me the sparkling water- I didn t bite. Not her fault I don t drink anything with my meal. Chef came out to thank me for the compliment. If I don t have to get past TSA I d drive here for that sandwich!! Btw- I m not from around here & generally unimpressed with Texas food.

There are no physical menus available at this restaurant, so the daughter of the elderly couple sitting next to me had to hover over them, helping explain the choices and place their order. She should get half the tip that you are required to leave before placing your order. Im normally a 20% tipper, but since they suggested 18%, thats what they got. Providing the tip before receiving any service basically removes the incentive to provide basic service. No one asks if you need anything or how your meal is. You have to flag someone down and hope they re not walking out of the restaurant to talk on their phone. I ordered an appetizer but it was delivered at the same time as my meal. What sense does that make? I asked for no sauce on the appetizer, but they included it anyway. One of the people delivering food is also taking out trash (disgusting) and one of the cooks with a hairnet on also appears to be delivering food, but no one seems to be in charge of clearing tables. I ordered two burgers, two orders of fries and an order of sweet potato fries and was given three thimbles of ketchup and had to flag someone down to get more. I asked for a refill on my water and they refilled my lemonade glass. They never did ask me if I wanted a refill on my $5 glass of lemonade. They didnt forget that I ordered a piece of chocolate cake, because no one took my order. When the employee (cant really call anyone wait staff) finally asked if Id like my water glass refilled a second time, I asked for my chocolate cake. It s a good thing I wasn t in a hurry to catch a connecting flight. The first several bites of chocolate cake had a salty taste to them, because they didnt bring me a clean fork and I had to use the same fork that I used on my appetizer. The long line at the Wendys next door makes sense now. Even Waffle House consistently provides better service than this place. Now Ill wait for the manager to come in and post some canned apology with a promise to share my feedback with the staff, as theyve posted dozens of times before on their other negative reviews. Those responses alone tell you everything you need to know about this establishment. If they had to depend on regular customers for business instead of transient travelers, theyd be out of business by now.

Cool looking place. Used the QR code to order drinks then added our food second. The wood burning grill was hard to pass by. The burgers were juicy and the steak sandwich had a couple bites of pure bliss. We had about 50 minutes when we were seated and were out in about 35. Well see you in May!

After a long or short flight, youre hungry and just want good food service and quality... dont stop here because you wont get it. It is extremely expensive and for a high premium price what you get is terrible customer service, primarily due to the technology used to order and interact with the staff. This is a great example of a terrible use of tech to provide service.

In our very recent experience, the food was fine and the ambiance decent at first. Its to be expected that the food and drink would be overpriced, which they very much were, but the terrible service (even with a handicap for the airport context) is something potential customers should be aware of. After having been at our table for no more than an hour, with not a single person waiting for a table, and with literally dozens of other tables free, we were told to leave roughly five minutes after closing our tab. Its food if you need it, but our hopes of a potentially neutral experience proved to be too optimistic. Trust the bad reviews. Vegetarian options: Theres an Impossible burger.

Did not dine in, had a To Go breakfast Avocado toast, sunny side up eggs and coffee. Food was fresh, the bread was toasted well, and coffee tasted freshly brewed. Staff were very friendly, helpful and quick with my order. The only comment I would have is the food is very pricey for the quantity, especially for a to go.

I echo all of the formerly posted 1 star reviews about slow and indifferent staff, poor and faulty ordering system and very expensive food. This was our second time in two months with the same experience. We waited 25 minutes for water and a drink and then 40 minutes for food that never showed and which my wife had to go track down to have boxed up so we could catch our flight. I left a private review requesting a refund of the gratuity that was paid up front that I ll be following up on.
