Where they keep there Desert smells like mold, you can even see the mold as well. The place is half ass cleaned. The food has no flavor, Cost a lot of money to eat here and get nothing in return, I can not blame people for coming here and lot of people have never experienced better quality food. So they think restaurant like this place is the best in the world.

The food was not good. I had the pot roast, my partner had the beyond meatballs and my baby had the grilled chicken and cheesy pasta. We shared hummus and strawberry cake. None of it was good and my baby got food poisoning. The best thing was the hummus.

We have been to Black Walnut Cafe on Memorial Dr. several times and have never had a bad meal there. However, the Louetta Dr. location leaves a lot to be desired. Our food took a long time to be ready, but when it finally came, it was lukewarm. It had obviously been sitting somewhere for a while before it reached us. None of the items on my husband s breakfast plate looked or tasted fresh. Bacon was dry & dark brown -burnt. Sausage patties were old & dry. Pancakes were bland & paper thin. My tomato basil soup was so salty, I could not finish it. It was also room temperature. Terrible experience. We will not be visiting this restaurant ever again

Excellent food and wine. A little different in that you have to pick up the menu and cocktail list just inside the door and seat yourself. I ate at the bar with full service and had 2 appetizers, cup of tortilla soup, and a glass of Malbec. Very enjoyable meal.

I dont think this is the restaurant for me because it reminded me of fast food experience where you pick something on the menu and order it yourself, but with better food choices. Also pricey as well. Server was only there for a moment to get our drinks and the menu. The atmosphere felt kinda off. The bar tends to overshine everything else so it is unfortunate that I didnt get to enjoy eating here. Food was delicious though! I chose the chicken and waffle with the over and easy egg. I never had it that way and I will recommend it. The Belgian waffle is fluffy, too. If anything, I would be here for the bar for my next visit.

VINTAGE PARK IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST BLACK WALNUT CAFE LOCATION!! It is so good and consistent. I tried another one and I was so sad lol literally eating as I type this. Exception food and service on every visit. Today, 06/29/2024, was an special day as we saw an injured Pelican with broken wing while driving to the parking lot. Truly. Outstanding. Was visiting the area from DFW and decided to check it out. The food was phenomenal, and the people were friendly. The caramel macchiato was so good it made me forget all about that wannabe coffee place with the green fish lady logo; yeah, you know the one. The blueberry pancakes were so spectacular that Ive decided to move to Houston. Go there and enjoy it. I promise you wont be disappointed. Pack your appetite, though, because these arent kiddie plate portions. Edit: Sad to say my Door Dash meal experiences have lacked the initial good first impression, and each visit gets worse, as do the in-person visits. Delicious, giant chicken fried steak accompanied by about two tablespoons of gravy...? Since the DD menu offers no extra gravy option, we were able to call and request more, but now that request is happily taken and subsequently unfulfilled, even though its shown on the ticket. Our last three in-person visits had us presented with our food before our drinks. Very sad.

I m a regular here, breakfast only and I go once or twice a week after today I don t think I ll ever go back one of the first 6 customers in the door this morning and sat there for almost an hour waiting for my breakfast after ordering only when I mentioned it to the bartender did she go check people that arrived after me had all received their food the last straw was when I saw an employee s food come out and she went and sat down to eat it called and asked for a manager she came on and said she was trying to find out why it had taken so long, but when she came out to address me I had already left then she offered no explanation nor an apology or anything to ease the situation so here you go with your well earned bad review .. not how I prefer to spend my money with a business that has little to no regard for their customers. I was looking forward to a nice relaxing morning and a good breakfast. All I got was a waste of time and heading into work hungry. Awful

The staff was great. They were fast and attentive. I went with a friend and just couldnt eat here. There are things that can be done about flies and fruit flies. There were so many flies in the pasty display I was disgusted. Condiments like butter and jam was on the counter open along with fruit cups and lots of flies. My friends food came to the table but wasnt hot. Ive been to the Cinco Ranch location and it was nothing like this. I suggest something be done about the insects and the food should be prepared to order. The Gelato case could use a cleaning as well. I wont be going back to this location.

Another incredible Mother s Day at the Black Walnut Cafe with my special ladies. The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was unparalleled. First time dining at Black Walnut Cafe. It was busy (as it was Easter), but there were plenty of seats. This is a seat yourself establishment, which is not really clear until until you walk into the restaurant. Once my party walked in, there was plenty of choice seating. The servers were professional and friendly and the food was good. The portion sizes were just right, but the gluten free pancakes were a little dry (even with syrup). The kids gluten free cheese burger and fries were good as was the Mac and cheese and grilled chicken. The experience was pleasant and we will definitely visit again. We walk in and were not sure how it works. We had to ask the person sweeping what to do... The assumption is go to the counter, order, then seat yourself, they bring out the food to you but drinks are self serve, all at premium price. Entering for a first time customer is a bit confusing. Maybe due to the bar and atmosphere it seems like you would be seated, The food is excellent, the lobster pasta had a zing to it. The crescent sandwich was buttery and crispy. All the baked goods were great. I considered going back for dinner the same day for more lobster pasta!

Surprised to see the serving size as large as it was. The service was great despite it being packed and the line to order moved quickly. Also the fans on belts was cool. Had to take a point off however because when i ordered the cod plate, my fish came out so greasy that i was violently ill for the entire rest of the day, but im willing to believe that was a fluke because the rest of my party had not problems. A solid 8.5/10 definitely a spot to consider if youre already in the area or if youre passing around huge piles of books

Ive been dining at this location for several years and never had such bad service until tonight. The staff werent friendly at all. Also we waited 46 minutes to receive our order and the restaurant wasnt busy at all. I had to actually go to the counter to ask about our food. When I asked the lady at the front when our order would be ready she just rudely said it will be brought to you soon and with no apology or anything. We had to ask for silverware and I didnt see any out for us to get ourselves. We decided to get dessert to go and the lady behind the bar made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by asking to order a to go dessert and then she had us bag our own dessert boxes. I wont be visiting this location again if this is the service we will receive. The service here has definitely went down.

Best breakfast in Spring. Good portion and options. Occasionally they make mistakes with modifications (like no cheese etc) but are quick to correct it. Service is usually friendly and manager is always checking in on customers.

Really happy to have stumbled upon this café! Their breakfast spread has great portions and they know how to fry their chicken! Kept coming back here for breakfast after giving this brunch spot a go. Giving it 1 star less than perfect because of a few reasons: Their poached eggs arent consistent... sometimes perfectly cooked, sometimes overcooked. Their mimosa flight was appealing, however, it is not the best in their menu. Their coffee tastes great, but they can still improve on their latte art for that finishing touch.

Im so impressed with how clean they cook! They use the best and purest quality food and cooking seasonings. Im on a Whole 30 clean eating, body detox, and there are very few places I can dine out. Black Walnut uses olive oils and they offer poached eggs and their steak is perfection. It was a treat and joy to be able to dine out and stay Whole 30! I have been there many times and was thrilled to know I could still go and I will be back even even after my 30 day cleanse!

$12 regular Pancakes with a very small amount sprinkle of mini chocolate chips on top, not in the batter literally like a tablespoon on top of two big pancakes, you end up eating dry batter cause they give you a tiny thing with maple. Not one chip on the dough. It s a no for me, maybe stick with eggs. Service beyond meh, it took me a while to decide but four times the time for them to come to me and order. Even tho i was sitting at the bar (easy to see) and wasn t holding the menu so probably a sings that I m ready to order.
