This is a really, really cool local museum that I would consider to be quite the hidden gem! The family and I had a great afternoon touring and exploring the historical buildings that have been relocated here. Will for sure be revisiting; recommend 100%.

This was really fascinating. Theyve collected four of the actual buildings that played a role in the founding of Harlingen, including the first residential house (belonging to Lon C Hill), the first hospital, complete with its books, medical devices, and personal effects, post office where you can see real letters from past and present visitors, and the Stagecoach Inn where the Hills and other pioneers stayed at the river crossing - if I remember right.

The buildings in this museum are well preserved and show how life was in Harlingen when it was first started. Mr. Hill, who was the founder of Harlingens life story, is told in his house on the property. The HEB building is a nice story of how life was in the valley.

Wow! This museum was filled with great information and history on the founder of Harlingen, Tx. Mr. Lon C. Hill. I loved touring his home, and seeing all of the beautiful antiques. I recommend stopping by and visiting this great establishment. The gentlemen greeted us with a smile and brief history and let us walk the museum in peace with family.

The culture museum was closed which we wanted to go. The buildings that were moved to there were closed because of climate. The quilt show was awesome took lots of pictures. Could only take pictures of the outside of the buildings we wanted to see. Ok only 4 stars because we did not get to see what we went for. Yes they are renovating the museum about the culture and history. Touring the houses or building was a disappointment since we couldnt.

Grass needs to be mowed brick walkway had weeds and grass growing up threw it. Place needs a good cleanup. Most museums have a group of people that help out. This place is on need.
