I work a busy wfh job and often I get tunnel vision and forget to eat breakfast. This place pretty much delivers a breakfast bowl to me at least 1-2 sometimes 3 times a week via Uber eats. Thank you for making sure I do not starve and the food is amazing.

Im in Austin for work and needed to find some good coffee before 7am. This place was AMAZING!!! First, there was a sweet old station wagon out front which I loved. But I was in for a wonderful surprise inside. There were two wonderful ladies working. The service was quick, the food was good and the coffee was DELICIOUS. This whole experience made my day and I returned the very next day. This time different staff but still great service and amazing coffee.

Very rarely does one run across an establishment that allows itself to go wild. Most diners, restaurants and clubs have a very specific way that they want to present themselves to the world around them and this usually leads to a sort of vacuum of creativity and a stifling of the imagination. Kick butt coffee has allowed itself to become what its patrons want it to become because its owners understand that although it provides the food and drinks everything else ultimately belongs to those it serves. For this I am grateful. With so many Austin institutions shutting down: shuttering their businesses after decades and decades of service to their community- It is refreshing to see a business that gets it and it is calming to know that another institution is being born before our eyes.

Had cold brew and two tacos and all of it was AMAZING! The breakfast tacos are made in house and they re packed. The salsa is also made in house and it tastes fresh and really flavorful. The star of the show though was the cold brew. It tastes smooth and the pecan flavor wasn t overwhelming, a really nice balance. Can t wait to come back!

I bought the brisket quesadilla and a iced latte the brisket was very very sweet to much barque sauce and sweetener It looked like sauce with no meat.. paid 15.99 for the food .. I took 1 bite n new instantly that it should not taste like this...when I went to counter to tell them I didnt like it they didnt even offer me anything else .... I come to the store so often that I had like almost $5 when I stuck my debit card and their machine that they offered me as like a promotional credit which I used it and my bill for the coffee and the brisket still was like $25.... Its crazy they didnt offer me anything else because I was just their this morning and bought the same latte with three jalapeno and cheese sausage wraps... I frequent this place like twice a week.... And they didnt even accommodate me a different meal ... Dont think Ill be returning back there .. I give this place one star because I had better customer service with other people.. I cannot believe that they didnt offer me something different.... Im a black woman and normally when I frequent this place I never see anybody else of color other than people picking up orders from Uber eats or GrubHub so maybe if I was there race maybe I would have got proper accommodation but its okay they can have the 15.99 that brisket was disgusting

I don t know where to start with Kick Butt Coffee. Do I start by mentioning that they have electric punk shows? Or that they have the tastiest coffee that s perfectly paired with one of their baked goods that are the size of my face. Or mention that they re also attached to a kung fu studio. When you re ready to have your socks knocked off, visit Kick Butt Coffee. No description of this place is going to stack up against going there and experiencing the atmosphere. It feels like the concept shouldn t work - and it wouldn t without Master Gohring s obvious love and passion for everything he s serving.

Kick Butt is like a home for the punk community. I am so thankful for it staying open and want to fully support it in every way I can, to ensure it remains. Vegetarian options: I m not vegetarian but I ve seen a lot of veggie options Dietary restrictions: I love that they have meatless options Parking: The parking is great. I ve been going to KB for probably 10 years and every single time I was able to have on site free parking. It literally couldn t be better! Kid-friendliness: Kick Butt is one of the few places I can take my kids to shows. It s always such an inviting and safe space for them. Wheelchair accessibility: I regularly see guests in wheel chairs and I m glad that they feel comfortable in the space

On July 23, the employee messed up and charged me for a shot of whiskey that I never order nor received. When I noticed the amount on my credit card, I called the next day, and the guy (Cole? Cody? Some guy with a C name) said he found the dispute and refunded me. It s been 1.5 weeks later and no refund. I called multiple times again but cannot reach anyone. Voice mail I left was never responded too. Be VERY careful when you order here. The coffee was good, but I m cautious when shops pull these scams.

This is an awesome place to for a band to play. Our band has played here twice and everyone is so pleasant and supportive. I wanted to give a shout out to Ernie the sound guy (I hope I got the name correct). He is really nice, funny, kind and just great at his job of running the lights, the sound and the video feed. I had a small issue with my amp and he very quickly got me back up and running with a calm, patient demeanor. If you play in a band you know that this can be somewhat rare. Ive never run live sound and I can easily see how a person would become jaded. Thank you Kick Butt !!

I ordered a green goddess salad without mushrooms to go and it was phenomenal!! I ordered an iced Seasonal latte -white mocha pistachio. It was good, I liked that it wasnt crazy sweet. There were school of rocks kids getting ready to play when I visited, it was busy but not overly packed. When you walk in it definitely has more of a bar/rock music venue vibe than a coffee shop vibe which is very fitting for austin. Parking: I would call it a medium sized parking lot, it fits most cars and shares it with other patrons so it stays fairly busy. I had a truck and trailer so I had to park next door in their large, half empty parking lot.

I love Kick Butt so much. Its one of the first places I visited some 12+ years ago when I moved up north and was already in the area. Its continued to be somewhere I pop in from time to time to get work done remotely. Recently theyve been advertising breakfast bowls. When I visit I usually just want a taco or 2 with my coffee. Their breakfast tacos are surprisingly delicious but you can only get one if you happen to get to the shop before they sell out. The usually sell out before 10am. I visited twice in the same week looking for a new spot to call mine with caffeine and food for early morning or mid-day. The tacos I got from their breakfast taco stash were soggy and just kind of meh. They make 180 a day. They put them in a temperature controlled container. They sell them until theyre out. And thats how they do it. I dont understand why they would offer a whole bowl of the same ingredients served *fresh* but not a taco of the same. They tout how many tacos they make every morning and sell out of, but its confusing why they dont continue to make tacos once they run out of the popular ones. Theyre decent, delicious tacos. Id be so Kick Butt stan if I could get a fresh breakfast taco from here regularly.

Found this place via Google. It was out of my way by I like coffee and I saw the pictures and reviews, seemed like a cool concept. They have a full bar, food, and decent selection of coffee. I ordered online and waited in my car but a good 20 min then walked in. I walked in at 3:15pm. They close at 4pm. I walked in, there were a few people sitting down, the place look really cool. They have a stage, tables, a nice bar. The guy behind the bar never made eye contact, I just stood there until I finally said hello, he responded with a douchey sup , still too worried about cleaning. I told him I was picking up an order I placed online, he responded with for .? I gave him my name. He proceeded to begin making the drink. The guy was super cold, he seemed bothered that I was even there. I ve been a bartender for 18 years and I have service experience for 22 years. It doesn t matter if this is the most delicious coffee I ve ever had in my entire life, and you can have the coolest bar/coffee house in all of Austin, the attitude of that dude made me never wanna come back and I won t. As I grab my coffee, I told him thank you looking straight at him and he responded with mhm never looking up once.

First of all, I started coming for punk shows at Kick Butt. The sounds is great, the crowd is kind, the staff is attentive, the parking is free and easy at the lot next door AND you can get food, alcohol and coffee during shows - whats not to love?? Later I tried the coffee shop aspect because I live sort of nearby. I will stop by for coffee and breakfast tacos. Its always quick, easy and good. There are a lot of choices in Austin for tacos and I have to say everything Ive had here is good. Oh and both Salsas are solid but the verde is my personal preference. In short, highly recommended for coffee/food when youre in north central and anytime for a show. Its all good. The whole package. Parking: A few spots in front and a whole big parking lot on the side closer to I-35.

UPDATE: Thomas, who I believe is the owner, reached out to me personally to discuss the experience I had with my order through Door Dash. He invited me into their coffee shop to try another mocha. I am so happy I gave it another shot. Their mochas, especially in the mugs, are to die for. However, surprisingly their breakfast tacos were the show for me! I love a good breakfast taco. Ive gone a total of 3 times now. Give this place another chance if youve had an iffy experience. I can guarantee its a one-off occurrence. ORIGINAL: This was my very first time ever trying this place. I ordered a mocha through Door Dash. The item on Door Dash specifies it comes with whipped cream, which it did not. Unfortunately whipped cream is my favorite and what makes or breaks a coffee for me.

Kick Butt Coffee is uniquely Austin. Its a rad smaller coffee spot/bar in the evenings, that has an amazing drink menu with a ton of craft cocktails, and a ton of craft beer. They are also a music venue that hosts a lot of shows and supports the local music scene a lot! Its highly recommended that you stop by and check it out. Located away from downtown, its very easy to find parking, and far less chaotic than dirty 6th. If you get a chance to pop in, you should! Vegetarian options: There are not only vegetarian options, but vegan ones too. Including muffins and chocolate donuts. Dietary restrictions: If you are vegetarian or vegan, you will definitely have food options.

Im only reviewing this in context of getting to see punk shows there. If you watch a video of one and see a luna-tic flopping around in front of the stage, well thats me. At any rate: somehow theyve pulled it off where, the kind of shows Id have only ever seen at a dive bar in the old days... I see at a place that doesnt smell of urine and we dont have to escort the ladies to their cars because of the aggressive amongst the homeless (!kinda miss the fights but, Im certifiable). You can turn around and... Its nice. Theres a guy live-producing not just the sound mix, but videos. Theres people outside having nice chats. Not being downtown, they arent on edge of which group of drunk jerks are going to come try to get beat up next - which I understand wasnt actually the highlight of most folks weekends, supposedly. Youd think none of this would work. Juxtapose. Yet, they pull it off. Though a word to the wise: if youre gonna use the bathroom for your motel, keep in mind the same courtesy you ignoring, is the courtesy that keeps me from just kicking on in and taking my dump right on ya. Dont test me again, I aint always so forgiving. Damn fools testing the politeness of crazy people however seems to be the odd exception not the rule, Which I think says a lot. To make all this somehow work? They got something special going. Shine on you crazy diamond, innit.

Plenty of space to work and the service staff are very nice. The food is good, nothing special but still tastes good. Plenty of tables to spread out and work. And there is parking out front. Maybe it would be cooler when a live band is playing it at night with a few alcoholic drinks. Parking: Small free parking lot right out front

I visited kick-butt coffee at least 3 times within the past year and each time was very very pleasant! The food was fresh, warm, and super tasty! I had the BBQ Chicken pizza and really really loved it. I also tried the Matcha and it was the best I ve ever had! The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting, there is always a weekly event to attend from Stand-Up Comedy to Live Concerts, and it s located within walking distance fro ACC Highland. If you enjoy food, drinks, entertainment, and martial-arts, this is the place for you!

I tried their green dragon focaccia sandwich and their small black ice coffee. It was around $23 for both. The sandwich came with a side and i choose their chip and queso. I enjoyed the sandwich, but I wish the mushroom on it was cooked. The queso was really good. During the day, I wish the lighting inside be a little bit brighter for those who are doing their work or studying.

Kick Butt is relaxed, and attracts all groups and individuals. I was there one day and a group of African American men, all ages and well dressed, came in for a church-related meeting! I loved it. Vegetarian options: It is good to have these on the menu. Some people have restrictions not just by choice but for medical or digestive reasons.

I got an oat milk cappuccino and it was one of the best I have ever had. The milk/coffee ratio was perfect. Usually, at the coffee chain that must not be named, all I get is a bunch of foam. The proprietor and the barista were very friendly and accommodating. If you go at the right time, the barista sells her gorgeous handmade jewelry! A definite bonus to the amazing coffee.

Primarily a punk venue, there are other awesome events at this community centered spot. Check out their YouTube channel to get an idea of the vibe. I am primarily in it for the Sunday night open mic, Spoken and Heard. Fantastic safe space for self expression, you can go up on stage and kill it or suck, and get the feels either way, because the room is full of fellow performers just trying to be heard. Love it.

this is hands down the best coffee shop to work from in my opinion. Their food selection is vast, customization to their drinks AND food is top tier, and the atmosphere and comfy booths & seats are perfect for me when working remotely. Theres also easy access via bike lane, a bus stop out front, a short walk from the nearby metro, and ample parking. Highly recommend. And on a personal note, customization is really important to me when I spend money somewhere and this is the only place in town I know I can get a toffee nut caramel macchiato.

I recently visited this coffee shop for the first time and was captivated by their unique blend of coffee, eats, and live music - its so quintessentially Austin. Visiting mid-morning on a weekday, I was there for coffee and to catch up with a friend. The coffee hit the spot, but there were a couple of hiccups. The open front door let in a 45-degree chill, leaving us quite cold. Perhaps there was a reason for this that I wasnt aware of. Additionally, service was a bit slow. Despite a line of 7-9 people, only one staff member was serving, and the others seemed unperturbed by the growing queue. It might be part of the laid-back vibe here, and regulars might be used to the wait. Im willing to give it another try,
