I struggled with the VA for approximately 15 years in an attempt to have them recognize active duty time spent with the USMC. Endless hours. Endless effort in providing actual USMC documentation to the VA. All efforts were in vain. I went to VSOs in many states seeking assistance. All to no avail. As a final resort I made contact with Mr. Rousseau an attorney in Texas. He happened to be a retired 08 (ARMY). Spoke with him and explained my plight. Explained to him my situation and expressed to him that I had come to believe that my case represented a classic case of a Clear & Unmistakable Error(s) situation. A CUE if ever one existed. Since CUE cases are rarely ruled in favor of the claimants (10% is the average success rate) he heard me out and agreed to take my case regardless of this reality. He delved deeply into his search for all available records available in the VA bureaucracy. He established the facts. He presented the case and claim in a very short time period. HE & HIS STAFF WON. The claim was upheld and and adjudicated in my favor. This resulted in my receiving a back pay settlement in excess of $230,000. I shall remain forever grateful. Ed Bell USN/USMC

Final update: After 2 years, my claim was actually approved! Im surprised to say the least but this is a testament to Mr. Rousseau determination and persistence. And thank you to all his staff that answered promptly, called me back, and responded to emails quickly! See below for the original review: Mr. Rousseau was very easy to talk to and after hearing my plea, he agreed to take my case. We spent about a year gathering everything together. Unfortunately, the case did not win but I was still thoroughly satisfied with the service he provided, the questions he answered, and his availability throughout the process. Update 1: Mr. Rousseau continues to fight for my case after more than a year. At one point I had thought it was simply over but were at the final stages. Very satisfied with his service.

After wasting a couple years seeking seeking compensation from the Veterans Admin for injuries sustained during active duty, and getting nowhere, a friend recommended I make a free consultation with Mr. Rousseau. This was without a doubt one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. Although it took 2 1/2 years, mostly because of the Covid shutdown, Mr. Rousseau and his legal team never gave up and fought battle after battle with them to win my case. The attorney, Richard Rousseau and his staff were very helpful with our case. As a former JAG, Rousseau is very knowledgeable about the military process, VA, and his staff (many military spouses or former military themselves) is also understanding. We started our process in Texas--dropped off all of our files and records. Even though we moved out of state, the staff regularly updated us via email or phone calls. We were well informed during the process and had a favorable outcome. Highly recommend.

First hand I have seen the text messages to her clients. Shes rude and unprofessional. Borderline childish. Fine then Im telling the judge you dont wanna answer me fine Im telling him to give you jail time then while in court she will argue with her own clients. Then to top it off..threatens them and has no problem saying she will pad the case so that theres no chance to beat it at trial. She SUSAN CRISS is a horrible attorney. Disgusting person. Unprofessional. Rude. If there was a negative 5 stars Id choose that. Dont give her your business. Shes vile.

Mr Rousseau was extremely knowledgeable and walked me through my options in a tax law issue I was having. He thoroughly inspected my paperwork and explained the tax issue in a polite, easy to understand manner. His credentials for tax law are phenomenal as well and he was very clear about his fees. The only reason why they go 4 stars was they called to cancel original appointment and I had to call back to reschedule an appointment the next day. Other than that it was an excellent choice! Id recommend 10/10 times.
