The food is good. The prices are way too high. But someone in the backroom was smoking and it ruined the entire experience for us. It was easy to smell in the dining area.

The chicken in the chicken piccata was charred hard enough to cancel the lemon sauce that all great piccata is known and loved for. The service wasnt terrible but could have been much better. I brought up the burnt chicken to the waitress to which i was offered nothing, no recourse for the ruined meal. At the price point of this restaurant, the experience is definitely not worth the money. I found it to be the most expensive piccata and also the worst. This makes me less likey to try new to me establishments and stick with what i know is good every time. Brunos Italian kitchen has never been come up short on service, food or ambience.

I dont know why we decided to give this place another shot a week or so ago, but it never fails to disappoint. First few times we tried it they didnt seem to drain the noodles at all and my spaghetti was super watered down, it was disgusting. Tried them again hoping things would be better but got the fettuccine Alfredo this time. Whoever decided to put mushrooms in this is insane, theyre clearly canned and super mushy. Sauce was lumpy and made me gag every bite before I gave up. Also had hardly any shrimp, not worth the price at all. Bread also wasnt toasted or anything...just plain ol bread. Ive had better cafeteria food. Employees were also super rude when we came to pickup our food and just ignored us the entire time. Unfortunately wont be back.

Best family run Italian in the Golden triangle. Its been there for generations for good reason. If you live garlic try the house dressing. Their dishes tend sweeter than most places, not to heavy or greasy. A good alternative to the chain restaurants along the highway.

Few months ago, pizza & cheese sticks were extremely burnt like cant even eat burnt. Today, I was really hesitant about getting food here again. When I got home with my order, I realized the pizza was not burnt, but had absolutely no sauce on it when I didnt ask for no sauce on it. The cheese sticks were slightly burnt and had an odd taste. The only good thing was the spaghetti. I feel this place has gone down the last few years and its hard for me to say since I have been a customer since I was a teenager (~14 yrs).

Check your order before you leave on to go orders. They give you the wrong things they charge you for what you asked for and then argue with you about it. I think we all know a Caesar salad is completely different than a regular house, salad, and their version is lettuce and tomato only, when you call to speak to the owner, he hides in the back and they tell you he s not there.

Ordered a small pizza, and it tasted and felt like a frozen pizza you could get from the grocery store for $2. Fried mozzerella was decent (hard to screw up fried cheese) but the marinara sauce served with it was way too sweet, like they opened a jar of ragu and added a cup of sugar. its a shame one if the only sit down restaurants in Groves is not good.

I live 90 miles away from Colichias, and if we ever find ourselves in the vicinity, we make sure to be there when theyre open so we can bring home take-out. The tomato sauce is perfect. Its incredibly sweet, and thats what makes Colichias food so superior to any other Italian restaurant you can think of. The incredible amount of garlic makes it even better. The meatballs are delicious with a little bit of kick, the salad dressing is always excellent, and even the bread is worth eating here, where other places just put something flavorless into the bag to soak up the sauce and call it a day. If you have a low tolerance for sugar, it may not be your thing, but its the signature of Colichias that makes it a unique experience worth driving 90 miles for. One more thing: consider getting extra meatballs and sauce on the side. I love how much spaghetti you get with a take-out order, but the sauce is spread a little thin, in my opinion.

The worst so called Italian food Ive ever tasted. Pasta sauce is not supposed to taste more like Chinese then Italian, it was sweet... who makes sweet pasta sauce?!!! I also tried a canolli, also horrible, it was grainy and had a lack of taste. The only good part about spending $80.00 on a dinner for 2 was the garlic bread, that was the only item of both of our meals that we could stomach. I have to say, this is the first time Ive ever rated a restaurant but I couldnt ignore the fact that I just had the worst meal ever.

But the waitress had no problem taking it back and bringing him the cannolini which was really really good!! We did enjoy ourselves and will more than likely be back.

One of the best ribeyes we have ever had...garlic and olive oil marinade...then grilled to medium rare...amazing...also the calamari and marinara sauce are some of the best weve ever had...We will be going back to this well kept secret in the groves...update on this place and Ill take off 1 star because the last two times we have went there they did not have vegetables for a side dish...we ask the waiter and he told us that the owner will not cook vegetables anymore...what? I guess he hates them I dont know but it its not good for people that dont eat carbs...so even though the steak is awesome we wont be spending a few hundred dollars here anymore...and its a shame because when we did have the veggies as a side they were top notch...update on this place we stopped going because they no longer serve vegetables...and we eat more keto like so that was a major thing for us just pasta as a side dish is not a good thing...I guess the owner thinks there are no vegetables in Italy? Its a shame too because they were cooked perfect and went very well with his garlic steak...

This is not some cheesy Italian chain restaurant catering to the masses with Americanized dishes that change their menus to accommodate the newest trend or fad diet. If you want trendy fast food that is fine, but this is not it. Enjoy food made like Mama Colichia made for family and friends for over 50 years.

I have been eating here since it was on Proctor and Mama and Papa Colichia owned it. If you are expecting generic Italian, this is not it. It is recipes brought over on the boat from Italy. The spaghetti sauce is sweet and the house dressing is made in-house from fresh scratch ingredients (super garlicky). If you are looking for something different and traditional from a piece of Italy, you will get it here.

This place is really sad. The owner is always stoned so he doesnt take care of the place. the food is terrible. expensive prices for sloppy food. very unsanitary. they reuse the parmesan cheese from your table and when you dont finish your bread they collect it from your table and process it to bread your chicken or veal with. every waitress is pregnant so theyre slow & moody.. this place has definitely gone downhill because the owner is a stoner. go see for yourself but make sure you have a lot of money for crappy sweet sauced food.

After trying this place a few times before, we were treated to a meal here by very excited friends. So we didnt complain when the food did not live up to expectations. The sauce in our lasagna dishes was vinegary tasting and the salads were just subpar. We wouldnt consider this fine dining, maybe just greasy spoon Italian--which sounds like a contradiction. We usually arent such harsh critics, but we havent been adventurous enough to go back. The service however was friendly.
