The owner is the sweetest person and greets/tries to converse with everyone that walks through the door. The staff is very friendly. The food is sooo comforting, delicious and fresh!!! We had the small tamale bowl with beef chili and got a side of sour cream. An explosion of flavors in your mouth. Will be returning here!

Went Tuesday afternoon and was the only one there and ordered the burrito with beef and added chicken. It was good however the portion size was ridiculous. It was extra heavy with the rice, super light on the beef and light on the chicken. For a $11 burrito I would say hard pass as it a bad value, disappointing. - The red and green sauces were tasty. Unfortunately the service was not very welcoming, felt like I was bugging them. I will be back to try the tamales because I hear and see good things.

The young man working the counter was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful when asked about the various condiments for sale at the counter. Young man, when a customer has questions about the products that your employer sells, it would behoove you to take an interest and find an an answer to their questions. Clearly, you look at your position as just a paycheck. My guess is that the business owners would find your lack of interest in customer service as a reason to find a new employee!

Good food (rice and beans are blah), but they definitely dont give any sauce for tamales which makes them seem super dry. Only gave just a tiny, tiny...i mean TINY bit of salsa...one dip for one bite, so youre out before your meal even starts...super disappointing. We even ordered chips and salsa so wed have extra but that was a waste of money... got a container full of chips and a small cup of salsa. I just dont understand the ratio issues here. If they would improve that and add some flavor to their rice and beans they could actually be stellar and not feel like a generic chain restaurant.

We always enjoy Tommy Tamales, this was our first time to dine-in. We had queso, nachos, and tamale dinner. I enjoyed both the habanero and hatch green chili tamales. Others in our party enjoyed the beef and chicken and pork. Hope they will open more locations to get closer to where we live. Definitely recommend. The staff was super helpful and friendly.

I ordered from Doordash, and that was a fiasco, so I would not recommend this if staying at a hotel (the dasher left my food outside). I was livid, to say the least, but when I dug in with my fingers (I got no utensils or napkins), the food was FANTASTIC! I have eaten tex mex in California and Mexico, and it was great, but Tommy Tamale is the absolute truth. I literally ate cheese, beans, and tamales with my hands because it was that good. Im not upset anymore... I am full!

One of the best Mexican spots in DFW. The tamales are so good here. I had a pork, beef & black bean tamale. All so good. Food comes out really fast too. The chocolate tamale was my favorite. One of the best chocolate desserts I ve tried. Such a rich, chocolatey taste + the apple cinnamon tamale was also amazing. The refried beans are so hot and taste really good! They have a 2 & 4 plate with rice & refried beans; I grabbed a 4 plate before work & sampled 1 while driving lol It was so worth it tho! We had the bean and cheese tamales. Plus we had the guacamole and queso with chips. Both were very tasty fresh and tasty. We got two tamales and they were quite filling. Staff here was great, both in the hot food section and in picking up a few bottles of salsa to go. If you are here, you are probably looking for a tamale because that is about the extent of the menu. Not a complaint at all, because that is why I was there. I ordered a two tamale plate with one Hatch Pork and one Chicken. It was actually ready before I had gotten my fountain drink and they followed me to the table. Both tamales were very good, but to be honest, I could not taste much difference at all. For sides I had rice and charro beans. Rice was good but average, the beans were very good. Because tamales are generally small anywhere (and these were on the smaller side), I would probably get four next time. Salsa served with them was also very good.

Let me start with I don t like tamales lol. Every time I ve tasted them they weren t cooked right or good at all. I got the two tamale meal with rice and refried beans and also got the apple/raisin and chocolate dessert tamales (2 for $5). I couldn t even tell that one of the tamales I had was pork and that s a good thing for me. Also I don t like raisins and the dessert tamales had me wanting to go purchase the rest of them. They came with caramel and chocolate sauce as well. The chocolate one was super decadent and would pair well with some butter pecan ice cream. The tamales were kinda small but true flavor is worth it

The best tamales around. My favorite are the pork and the black bean tamales. We love getting extra so we can have leftovers throughout the week. Great service too!

We drive an hour to get there for their tamales for our freezer ....best in Texas. We ate at the little Cafe inside and my husband said they were the best nachos hes ever had. Would definitely recommend them

Absolutely killer food. Got the large Tommy bowl and it was so much food I had to finish the rest at home. Bowl ingredients mend so well together. It tastes even better with chips reheated. Would highly recommend this spot. Absolutely delicious.

We live around the corner from Tommys and been meaning to try this place out. We dined in for a bit but had to rush out and took the rest to go. The mac and cheese that comes with the chili I ordered was amazing and didnt last a minute with my oldest son. I got a bite in before he inhaled the rest without leaving me any leftover LOL I got the Tommy bowl which was so flavorful and the portion that was served to me was alot which was great. I was able to reheat it and eat some more later. The burrito and quesadillas were delicious as well! My youngest son got the chicken nachos and practically drank the green sauce that came on the side (he finished 3 of them). He loved it! Tommy also made sure to come out and say hello and was just being super friendly and welcoming to us. We ll definitely be back!

Stopped here during a brief getaway and had some great tamales! Service was fast and the food was very good. Small and very casual restaurant with two counters, one for takeout and one for dine in. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. We had the tamale plate, which is a choice of 4 tamales and side of rice and beans, and a large tamale bowl which is two tamales on a bed of rice, smothered in chili, queso, and topped with shredded cheese and pico. Also got a guacamole and chips to start things off, wasn t made at the table but was fresh and also very tasty. Some of the best tamales we ve had. They re relatively small so don t worry about getting several to sample the different types.

Looking for a good tamale? Look no further. This place has a small menu, but each option we tried was absolutely AMAZING!! The tamale bowl, tamale pie, and the nachos were all quite tasty. The tamales we tried were pork and black bean and cheese. Each was delicious, but the pork was our favorite. Each was packed with flavor and seasoning that did not need additional salt or pepper. Customer service is exceptional, and we received service with a smile accompanied by recommendations since it was our first time to visit. 10/10 would recommend. If youre in the mood for tamales, I assure you, this place will not disappoint.

Some of my friends recommended Tommy Tamales to me so I had to give it a try. The tamales remind me of my mom s tamales. I tried the Chivken and the Pork tamales. Both were very flavorful. The chicken was a little dry but I m not complaining. The Pork tamales was moist and beautiful. The rice is well made and the beans are very tasty. The service is super fast!
