Other than the water slides being decent and basically the only water park open after the summer season, I was disappointed from the get go. They charge $15 for parking, $15 for a locker, the food is extremely overpriced and not good, drinks were expensive and not good as well. The majority of the men s showers weren t working, no soap in the women s showers. They advertised online a promo where you get access to the ropes course, but that was closed when we got there. The kicker was they charge an extra fee on your account, regardless of if you were just there on a day pass or not. They say it s just a holding fee and it will come off in 5-7 business days, still waiting on that. It just seems they want to get as much money out of the customer as possible. And the customer service was ridiculous over the phone. Took 3 people to finally tell me what the extra $96 charge was on my account, and the front desk person I spoke to, Macy, wasn t very friendly. You could definitely tell she didn t want to be talking. Definitely wouldn t recommend for just a day trip or couples without kids.

Unfortunately, we were 100% SCAMMED by Wyndham with passes to the Lodge!!!! We were promised weekend accommodation by their sales rep John (from IL, who of course won t return phone calls now we have done the session) when we saw him at Typhoon Texas. Turns out that can t delivered on at all and we were told that sometimes the certificate company allows you to book on the weekend. I then called them and they sent me their week day booking policy. My husband and I each to 3 hours off work to attend their seminar on the property to receive these supposed vouchers. I had to call so many times and have been sent to so many departments. Be very very wary of any promises made to you about this place by Wyndham

2024- September Rating changed mainly for the lack of quality. Returned back, received gold arm bands. No cookies this time at check in but its a little mixed up at the moment so thats OK. Had multiple challenges from food to room upgrade and reached out to customer service before updating my review. They did not respond. (Call me, please, Mr. Wolf I want to resolve this) Magiquest sold us a gross, stinky belt that smells like mildew. I thought it was made to feel cool, but noticed it after we got home that it was covered in mildew-scented water. Avoid the refillable cups, the machine had no ice, was warm and flat. All of our food at buckets was soggy and it was good in the past. We were offered an upgrade to a balcony room. The weather was nice so we went for it and had great luck with upgrades in the past. This time it was a downgrade. The balcony was a wooden fence against a locked sliding door with a view of road cones. It was also on the first floor path to the makeshift lobby so it was busy and noisy. Was not worth the upgrade. Magiquest game was upgraded and my older son beat it in less than 2 hours. The story is now over for him, there isnt another chapter. That was what set gw apart from the dfw waterparks-- was the fun night activities. Its great you reduced it from 8 floors to 4. Good call. Lost the big open spaces to storage closets. Waterpark had less lifeguards than usual but my kids know how to swim now so Im not as worried as I was in years past. Lines were kind of long, it was a Sunday afternoon. We stepped on rustybolts and found something resembling a gas cap or sprayer on a chair in the waterpark. This place is huge. If you have accessibility needs like you cant stand for long periods of time, come prepared with a camping chair or something. There are longer stretches of walking than usual with very few seating options. We havent had this challenge in the past. The staff were all incredible, polite and kind. Theyre doing something right with the staff. I dont know that theyre adequately managing the renovations. The quality of the park does not match the cost for our family at this time and we will consider other local resorts for our birthday staycations. 2023 (4 stars) We come often and usually its great. Was hoping to resolve the breakfast challenges with great wolf privately. Shared feedback with a survey they sent but never heard back. We received silver colored armbands at check-in with two small boxes of cookies (we booked 2 rooms). The bands didnt give us any perks that at know of, just a different color. We come annually for birthday celebrations. In June, the temperature inside the park was very uncomfortable. It was cooler outside. We usually come in winter. This was our first time in the outdoor pools, they were great! Ate at the lodge for breakfast this visit. Told 5 min wait, still waiting after 10min with lots of open tables. Ordered an omlette but was told they only have buffet. Why did they give out menus? Eggs were powdered, bacon and potatoes undercooked and the fruit was overripe. Didnt have sweet tea. Bill came to $79 for 2 children and 2 adults for meh food. Manager not able to be found. Go to braums down the block, food is much better and good value. We skipped the arcade and did magiquest instead. 10 year old was able to do it alone, 7 year olds needed help. The layout is hard, its easy to lose people on 8 different floors so having a walkie talkie or phone is helpful. Magiquest is always fun, lots of floors to tire out my kids. Its very popular at night. Theres lots to do in the area. Because theyre very familiar with everything at great wolf, we usually break up the day and go to lego discovery but this visit we went to the grapevine Railroad. It was cool. If this is your first visit, there is plenty to do. We will be back but will most likely eat breakfast off-site. Nearby activities: Lots to do in the area. Lego discovery center is our favorite. Gaylord is across the street, they have big events often. Safety: I felt like my kids were constantly monitored. Lifeguards were always checking. Even checked on me when I came down off a tube ride backwards and flipped over. Ha! Noteworthy details: Accessibility: This place is big. Lots of walking. Some areas have abundant seating and others have none. Its inconsistent. Come prepared if long periods of standing or long distances of walking is hard for you and you plan to participate in activities. Especially magiquest. Lack of handicap parking spaces made it inconvenient.

First time and one of the lowest vacations my family has been on. First, the construction temporary entrance was a mess. The line was about an hour wait with only 3 people helping in the front during peak check in time on a Friday. We ended up checking in on the Keiosk after we figured out by others if you make the reservation on line you, you can use it. The keiosk check in process was horrible as it couldn t read IDs and we ended up having to wait for an attendant to help. The parking by the convention center lobby check in does not accommodate many cars, so we had to park in an overflow lot that was about a 15 minute walk away (there was no sidewalk so it s not safe, especially for kids) but many were doing it as they allegedly had a shuttle somewhere that took longer than 15 minutes to come. The elevators by our room were broken so we had to walk all the way to the other end of the hallway (not a short walk) in order to get down. I asked twice to housekeeping to come in one day, once at 9 when we went to breakfast and once at 12 when we went to the pool, and still no one came. The beds are HORRIBLY old, our mattress had a spring sticking out of it. The couch bed was even worse and almost sunken down to the floor. The price for pizza a salad breadsticks and 4 drinks is more than $50 and there is no ice for the drinks. My family also got sick from the food. I saw everyone getting dominos and little Cesar s and it made sense. The game room had games that are broken. Bring your own towels as you need to rent one for $15. Only giving it two stars for the indoor pool facility that accommodated my two year old and four year old pretty well. After staying here I know he s better to stay at another hotel (Gaylord is across the street) and buy a day pass. Editing post to say after letting staff know all of the issues I had they had nothing to say.

Parking is impossible to find, even with a handicap pass. Most of the hotel attractions are closed due to renovations. Most of restaurants are just kiosks not actual restaurants that you can sit down at. They only had 1 elevator working on our part of the guest wing so you had to wait FOREVER for an elevator. The interior waterpark is PACKED and they have the AC pretty cold so everytime you get out of the water you are freezing. The outdoor pools were closed when we visited. The rooms are comparable to a Motel 6. Overall two thumbs way down.

If you have any decent expectations at all this place will be a huge let down. Great for the kids but that s only because they have no clue about what should come along with the price tag. Fireside restaurant service took forever- food was a huge let down and served cold (restaurant wasn t even at all busy). This restaurant was expensive and could ve done better without the time and money spent there. BYOB if you want to save money and spare yourself from being let down by bars closing earlier than listed on the website. Rooms smell badly, poor upkeep and cleanliness, expensive cocktails just not worth it. May have been a great place back in the day but has surely gone down hill. Don t waste your time or money unless you get for a big discount.

We stayed during the end of September and the construction created quite the inconvenience. My biggest issue was the inconvenience of parking (there is valet for $38 plus tax/night). Self parking is $15/day. We had been here before and self-parked easily but it was an adventure this time due to the construction and where you have to drive for check-in. After spending 20 minutes to park, which is frustrating, you get to pay for parking. So, two inconveniences are your first experience. There should not be a parking charge, especially during construction. There is a shuttle that is available, but we didnt catch it and so we walked about 500 yards to get into the hotel. Then youll likely have another lengthy walk just to get to the side of the property with all the activities. Walkability: You will walk alot while construction is going on.

The location is not necessarily bad. This massively huge place is grossly under designed with elevators. The corridors are extremely long and the distance between the elevators is quite a huff! Because of the shortage of elevators wait times are very long sometimes up to 15 minutes just to have an elevator arrive on your floor because there are so many visitors. The water park is nice for the family and the kids but they should have centrally located it and had the lodging Quarters on all sides.

Waterpark closes too early. In morning activities and breakfast start too late. Construction woke family up at 7am, so we had to just sit in room and wait two hours for all the amenities and stuff to become available. But Waterpark park is fun. Magiquest is OK. But it too doesnt open early enough. And you literally have to walk 10 minutes from the car park to Waterpark down a really really long set of hallways. Dont leave anything in the car for Gods sake. Time for when activities are open is hard to figure out.

1st time visit in August 2024. Its all about the kids & your innerchild...not the adult. Ate on & off property with our overnight (Fri-Sat)stay group of 5. Would bring food if I were to go again & a few thousand dollars so nothing would bother me because everything is a charge...including towels in Waterpark. Theres better suites offered at other hotels. CHAOS ALL AROUND. I want to go 1 day without construction in Texas. No water activity past 8p. I think it should be later or 24 hr availability. Lots of miscommunication. Lots of walking to do.Spent around $1k. The best part was the view of the sunrise & airport from room but the kids were completely satisfied! Walkability: Its a big place so lots of walking & valet options

I ve always held Great Wolf to a high standard due to the great experiences I had in previous years going as teen myself. After finally getting the opportunity to go to the resort with my own little family, we sadly will not be returning. The initial price of our stay was discounted which allowed us to finally be able to squeak by and afford a trip to GW. We decided to purchase an upgraded room upon arrival for an additional $56 per night so we our birthday kiddo could have bunks and the balcony for the adults. We checked in around 8:30pm and didn t go to our room until around 11:00pm. We got room 1006. When walking into the room, there were several quality issues that were noticed off the bat that didn t scare us away just yet. Everything was beaten and worn. Paint gone on spots everywhere, vanity held up by a rigged shotty job at both sides, wrappers of food next to the trash can, a WET towel on the tv shelf, dirty table. Curious if the really cleaned the room at all. A dead roach was seen on the floor next to the two person table. Expected right? And at least it was dead was my thought initially. That wasnt what ran us off though. My oldest daughter made her way up to get in the top bunk. Mom being the rookie I am, didn t check the bunk first like I should have. My daughter immediately started screaming that there was a bug in her bed. When my husband got up there to look there was indeed a German Cockroach in the bed. I ve personally grown up with an exterminator for a father so I m well versed on the type. Once you get them, it is extremely difficult to get rid of them. My husband then started to examine the mattress and found what appeared to be bed bugs! That s when I said nope, we re out. I refused to bring insects back to my own home. I went to the front desk and asked for her to make it right. The late night check in person s name was Torre. She initially said all I can do is move you to another room and refund the balcony amount since the new room won t have a balcony. I explained that the reason we upgraded in the first place was so we had the balcony. She said she would remove our upgrade amount and upon check out it was still there and they wouldn t fix the amount. We ended up with two kids sleeping in our queen size bed the rest of the weekend due to them being so scared of the bugs from the last room. We paid for late check out and our bracelets quit working at 9:45am. We couldn t get back into our room and had to go and wait 45 mins for new bracelets to be made wasting more of our family time. As if the bugs weren t bad enough, we ordered food from the pool side food area because outside food is not allowed. We spend $69 for inedible food. It literally tasted freezer burnt or like it had been reheated several times. It was disgusting. We had bought fountain drinks through the kiosk. Upon getting the drinks, they gave us canned cokes because the machines were down. We paid a premium price for fountain drinks. The resort was under construction so the parking situation was treacherous. We were too late for valet the night we checked in so my husband had to walk a mile literally back to the entrance after parking and then walk that same mile back to get the car the next day for us. They say a shuttle is available but the shuttle takes at least 30 minutes to deliver people back and forth and is not feasible if you had any type of destination plans. Get this though.. they still charge you $15 to park your car 1 whole mile away. It s $38 for valet. After everything that went wrong on this trip and not being offered any type of compensation or complement to our trip for the inconveniences, we will not be back and recommend that you do your research before you choose to be a guest at this place. It has gone down hill unfortunately and they just don t care to fix things.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay. First of all, there were so many people at the water park, it was almost overwhelming. Too many people ! The lack of life guards and security was very concerning. We had an incident at the waterpark where we were being harassed by 2 women. We were looking for a staff member to help but could not find a life guard in our area. We finally found a life guard in a different area and she contacted security. I did not feel safe with the situation and all we got was an apology. Lack of staffing is a concern with such a large number of people. There were young children running around unsupervised by parents and not enough lifeguards was an extreme concern. Everywhere you turn, they want extra money for everything. A family could easily drop $1000 in 2 days on extras. The construction and horrible parking situation was a hassle on top of everything else. They had elevators that werent working and the ones that did work, you had to squeeze into or wait, wait, wait. Not a good weekend for a lot of money spent

This place is the 7th level of hell. Save all your money. Don t waste it on here. Awful is an understatement. Filthy and outdated rooms - did I catch bed bugs? Maybe so. Unruly children everywhere. - it s 10:31 pm as I write this and lay on that nasty bed while I hear kids bang on doors and scream down hallways. If that were my kid you have permission to yell at them and call them ferel. Hence. It s not bc mine are asleep like they should be. Whole hotel is under construction. Let s pray it s for an update bc this room looks like a scene from 1982. The indoor water area is so pumped full of chlorine that my eyes and kids eyes turned bright red. And my skin itched. Probably best as the number of humans in that water is enough to make you want to lose your mind. Bless. This place needs to go. Someone buy it. Rebrand it. Or better yet. Set it on fire. If you spend your money here after reading this post then I 110% believe you are in for a real nasty treat. God speed.

Extremely Extremely bad time. Will definitely NOT be back and will 100% not EVER recommend. Will do opposite. Bad From the point of reservations. To start.. To the long walk from parking lot.with 4 kids and luggage. Was not fun Mrs. Happy was great buy only saw once out 4 LONG walks To the extended wait for the 1 elevator working in our wing of the hotel. (Once timed it 12 minutes) and many just as long waits. The horrible art activity at 905/935 where my kids were drawing In the hallway and being stepped over by other patrons The beds having metal sticking out and my son hurting his knee and our baby not being able to play on floor. We paid for the magai game and bought 3 wands which didnt work we couldnt get to final boss. On all four levels kids left feeling defeated.. went back to try to get wands fixed. Nice gentleman tried, but we went back to try and play and still didnt work. Wouldve liked to know about remodel before we booked. But the staff was very nice. But everything else horrible. We spent over 2,000 after reservation and. Extra toys . Staff Great nothing else..!! Rooms: Not safe for my 8 month or or other 3 kids. Metal sticking out of bed. Surprised only basic cable and half those channels didnt work. We came to have fin outside room but at night wouldve been nice to watch a movie.. or have a choice...problems with micro wave...BUT. very nice man came to fix after 2nd request. Only work 4 1/2 hours Nearby activities: States lots of activities. Half didnt work, or didnt show what was promised in pics.. my children were coloring on the floor in a hallway for art and craft time..!!! This was an organized activity? Safety: Family suite unsafe for my family. Beds have metal sticking out from under.. could not fix myself. son hurt himself Walkability: Be prepared to walk from door to car. They do have transportation. MRS. HAPPY was awesome. But she was busy walked 3 out of 4 times.. not easy with 4 kids and luggage. Noteworthy details: They didnt seem to care about my complaints, they did nothing, they never stated anything about the construction, i believe thats a huge factor.. will tell anyone who wants to hear how disappointed I am and discouraged them from going there. Not usually one to complain. But when you come with family time in mind, and your kids are disappointed it really hurts.

A lot of construction. Check-in is also located where conference and valet parking is located. What a nightmare. Understand the original check- in location is under construction. There is a shuttle, but it is not convenient for guests. Parking is not free and costs$15 a night. And there appears to be no security roaming the parking lot. There are a lot of signs to take valuable out of your vehicle. Its interesting that with all the guests here, there appears to be no security safeguarding your guests vehicles. Disappointed, you charge for parking but no associated security. Rooms: Adequate rooms. Food and drinks: It was expensive and overpriced on-site. Highly recommend bringing your own drinks and eating off-site. Buffet dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids cost over $220. That was with a mandatory $43 surcharge, ridiculous.

I was told one thing over the phone not only once but twice. Then I was told another thing about the buffet when arriving. Macy was the person who I spoke to and worst customer service ever. Might as well take your money and go to the W hotel for a stay with family because customer service is not here. This was a huge let down I will never be coming here or even having my company come with family for our Christmas bonuses for everyone. It s outrages for them not to take our money for the buffet at the price they told me over the phone. They rather us take our money elsewhere instead of giving good customer service. We also paid for valet and that also was a disappointment because no one had told us we needed to pay for parking upon arrival and parking was horrible due to all the construction being done. Dollars payed 270.00 for 4 Day Passes to the Water Park with a couple of kids toys and a back pack and get the grils all excited about going and drive down there just to park far away and walk a long way down to the Event Center and no signs to gide you were to walk to. And then wait in a long line. Told to pay $15.00 more for parking on top of what has already been paid and then after that to be told. Oh, I am sorry we dont have the deal you were getting. we are out of the backpacks, and we will give you 10.00 back, really?! How sad both my daughters were looking forward to the packs and the water park. Why offer and sell something you no longer have! Make people drive and waste time and gas just to be disappointed! I ended up canceling everything and was told I would get my money back 3-5 days and didnt even receive email cancelation or paper or anything! I hope they do refund me because I will be calling customer service! My daughter has celebrated her birthday there. We have done Halloween there, and this is just disappointment! We ended up going to Epic Water Park and didnt have to pay extra for parking or anything! Only paid 99.00 dollars for us 4 and even got a large pizza and 4 drinks for that price. Only bad thing is that resort fee is $39.99 but you still have to pay $15/day parking. Come on, really?!

Came here on Sunday afternoon and the place is a mess. Its under construction and the signage and directions are extremely poor (the emails alerting you to the mess werent at all helpful). And when you do make it in, the folks at check in (at least the one my family dealt) with were clueless and mumble incoherent explanations. I certainly have no plans to come back.

Don t recommend - a lot of the facilities are down and the Magi game is full of bugs. They don t have a sense of urgency to fix it either. Seems very short staffed - but still accepting full bookings. Not what it used to be. Pro Tip - use Uber Eats instead of buying from the food options by the water park. Food arrives faster and the price is the same! Also the Magi Game - your kids will be very frustrated because the boss level machines don t all work and don t accept the movement from the wands. This is absurd - if you re going to charge for the game it HAS TO WORK! I had to message willow 5 times and still didn t get it fixed. The staff would just skip the levels for me - what the point of playing the game? Just terrible

Annasasia, the front desk manager, purposely overcharged me for water park tickets. I asked how to apply the military discount online and she personally entered the code on my phone and gave it back to me to input payment information. After doing so, I asked her why the total was so high, she informed me the discount was for set priced tickets, BS!!!!. It was after 4 o clock!!!! After my friend arrived, oddly paying less that me, I asked another employee how much the half day tickets were and I immediately knew she overcharged me. So now instead of taking my baby girl shopping and out to eat for her birthday day we re waiting on a $226 refund! It s disheartening as a single mother I can t compensate for the money and memories we re losing today. Not to mention her blaming me for asking about the discount instead of half day priced tickets! We asked for a refund email and she said she d send it. We were at the water park an hour and had to walk back to the front desk to ask for the refund receipt again before she actually sent it. I can not express how badly I m disappointed be treated the way she did. I m black and I can t help but conclude that s the only reason she did it!!!

Hello i am currently staying at the Dallas/grapevine location and this is by far the worst experience i have had at a hotel. This hotel is family friendly . I came here to celebrate my daughter s birthday with her other four sisters. From check in this whole experience has been less than par. First with the amount of people in check in vs the three employees at the desks was very unsightly. Then to the scheduled events that never happened and according to one of the four employees i inquired about said the time is wrong from last week. Me and my kids have been sitting in the lobby for 40 min waiting on a craft that still has not come and what i can assume will be a underwhelming story time event. I booked this for an unforgettable experience for my large family and after this i can t say I d ever recommend or return.

DONT GO! THEY ARE RENOVATING! Non of the lobby atmosphere, dance party, or story time you pay for is available. They have it in a plain room or outside. The dance party was weird with weird music kids cant dance to. My kids were so bored with the story and the girls giving it had ball piercing all over her face. When I arrived the key to our room system was down, so they could not give me access to my room. They said go swim and we will call you when it works to make you a key. Well, 3 hours later, they never called. I had to freeze going floor to floor trying to figure out how to get access to my room. I was suppose to have access at 4pm and never got it. . I will not be going back anytime in the near future. I was never told about construction or renovation when I booked. Very bad experience right now! Not worth it! Outside pools also closed. It was also very hard to find the entrance and check in was very difficult, the kiosk was not working right and room key system was down also. Very bad birthday vacation. Again save your money and dont go!!! You will regret it like me.

**UPDATE: AGAIN There are a bunch of new 5 star reviews with no actual feedback from paid boosters to even out the influx of lower star reviews, do not let this trick you from all the recent poor reviews because the facility needs major rennovations for both safety and cosmetic reasons!!!** From the rooms to the customer service to the overpriced cafeteria grade food, save your money and vacation literally anywhere else. My 3 year old didnt know better and had the time of his life in the one little pool that was open because hes a water bug but as a parent it was abhorrent. Most of the pools were closed down continously during our 3 day stay, which was ridiculous. We paid for a Themed Suite, see pictures below for how it was when we checked in, trash everywhere, dirty linens, things falling apart in the room, and what looks like poorly painted over water damage all over the roof. The Magic Quest stations going off until quiet time which is 11pm but considering the bulk of people there are children with early bed times, its frustrating when your child is woken up every 5 minutes because the room shares a wall with the Magic Quest Stations on the first floor. The majority of the staff was rude & impatient and it wasnt even directly to me most of the time, just what you observed consistently throughout the days, especially the lifeguards, none of them have the skills needed to interact with children, thats for sure. For a FAMILY FRIENDLY Facility, they are sorely lacking in their Customer Service and Basic Human Decency, you could tell most of them didnt want to be there and it definitely set the tone of the trip, if you dont even want to be there, why would we??Theres basically 8 tables for families to eat at and then its a free for all trying to find somewhere to eat your overpriced mediocre at best Concession food. The ONLY redeeming factors were Lillith and Veronica who are servers at the Loose Moose Lodge who had the warmest and most efficient service! These ladies made our mornings so filled with love and fun. And Shandoria from The Build-A-Bear station, she was so incredibly sweet, helpful, and just a very lovely young lady to interact with!! These 3 ladies were the epitome of Quality Customer Service. All in all, Save your money and get passes to your local Natatoriums!

My recent visit was August 2024. Facility was under construction but did not hinder our stay. Room was as expected with balcony. Although a bit outdated, mattresses squeaked, a bit worn same with fold out couch, super squeaky. Pillows were comfortable. Check in was quick and efficient. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend downloading the app during your stay. It gives you updates on events happening that day. You can even chat with a team member if you have any questions, this was very helpful during our stay. Plan on doing a lot of walking getting around. Elevators are slow and always full. Plan on using stairs if applicable. Rooms: Outdated, beds are definitely worn, same for the fold out couch/bed. Enough amenities for a family to get by for a couple of days. Walkability: Plan on walking a lot, nothing is close to room locations. Elevators are few and far between, always full, have to wait for next on in hopes you can fit. Plan on using stairs. Food and drinks: The food was very mediocre, we were not impressed with the quality. Next time we will bring in our own food. Good place for snacks and drinks but not a full meal. Starbucks on site, employees were overwhelmed. As I was waiting for my order, there were angry parents waiting for there orders to be corrected. Definitely need more staff, they were stressed.

We visited two years ago, and we were really impressed with the experiences and the facilities. This year, not only were we underwhelmed, but we also ran into several issues before and during our stay. We stayed during the first week of September 2024. Starting at check-in, we decided to do the self check in since we booked online. Unfortunately it took 3 different kiosks for us to complete the check in process. One froze mid check in, and the other couldnt find my reservation. AFTER we booked our trip, we were notified that there would be construction in the facilities. Since we already booked, we decided to continue with our reservation because a little construction is understandable. Unfortunately when we arrived we discovered an entire section of the facility was blocked off. Not only was it unsightly (no themed cover ups, just plastic construction tarps), but the noise also affected the experience significantly. There were times we couldnt even have a conversation at the restaurant because of how loud the construction noise was. Not only were we confronted by construction, but we were notified at check in that the park would close early that Sunday for maintenance. We were never notified before booking the reservation about that specific date, and it was really unfortunate that we found out we were losing a majority of our vacation day. I understand maintenance is needed, but we would have liked to have known sooner so we could plan accordingly. To make matters worse, there seemed to be only 3 elevators that worked. Throughout the entire weekend, only the 3 elevators seemed to be operating. For the number of families present, limited elevator capacity seems like a huge miss. Other minor things affecting our stay: older rooms that didnt justify the room price, lower quality food than we had previously, and broken equipment (like the drink stations and the ice machines). The only positive thing we can walk away with was the service of the employees. With all the chaos, we were still met with warm greetings and great service. From the restaurant staff, to the events staff, we were pleased with the quality of service we were given. MAYBE once construction is complete and the facility is completely opened and refreshed, then we would attend again. Until then, we are going to hold off. At this point, the experience is definitely not worth the price paid.

Extremely disappointed. My family has come here for the past three years and this year was a huge let down. We booked almost two weeks in advance and nothing was mentioned to us about the construction that was scheduled. We were sent unclear instructions about parking due to construction and after about an hour of trying to find parking we found the back entrance. My mother is recovering from a dislocated knee so a heads up on the long walk and construction would have led us to rescheduling. There was mention of a shuttle bus which we tried to catch TWICE but they wait for a total of 10 seconds before leaving without looking around so we had to walk. When we finally got to the water park after dropping off our stuff, we got the kids situated into the kids indoor water park. I noticed that the outdoor water area was closed to I approached the nearest employee and she told me the outdoor area had been closed for about two weeks due to being understaffed which was also something that was not communicated to us at all as we booked. Overall it put a huge damp on the entire weekend and it honestly feels like the prices should have reflected the cheap weekend it felt like it was. After spending almost a thousand dollars on what we believed to be a quality family weekend it was very disappointing. We will definitely have to consider ever returning.

Visited the weekend of 9/6-7, not as great as in the past (they are currently under renovation)( but we have been coming yearly for past 5 years). Never had to pay for parking in the past, guess it s something new they started this year but can t understand why they would start it during renovation when they are already inconveniencing customers to begin with by having to check in at the back of the facility and walking so much farther than normal to rooms and waterpark area. The room s bathroom toilet was not clean, there were not enough blankets for the amount of guests checked into the room. The outside portion of the waterpark was not open to use and they never at any point when booking or checking in did they give notification of this. Paid for the breakfast buffet because was awesome in the past, this year was not as awesome, not as many choices as in the past especially missing the omelette station. Wouldn t pay for the buffet again. Overall felt like didn t get our money s worth as we have the past few years. Hope it doesn t stay this way. Will maybe give another chance after renovations but they may be losing some customers in the future. Noteworthy details: N/a

Im sure this resort will be great once they are done with the renovations, but everything there is so expensive its not worth the inconveniences caused by the renovations. Check in is in the back of the resort now & the back lot fills up quick. So prepare to wait for a shuttle or walk far to get to your car. Once inside you need to walk far again from check in to get to the rooms and water park. Elevators are really slow so take stairs if you can. The option to charge to the room using your wristband didnt work at most all places, so youll need to bring another payment source with you everywhere. Finally make sure to check the charges on your card after your stay. They charged us $129 for towels at the water park when you had to check out towels but each day they told us they dont need to record when you return them? Then they charged us $129! I filed a dispute & it was returned at least. But I hope they dont charge that to everyone, if so they need to have a system to track towels being returned.

Kids liked it but was not what they expected they did enjoy their wolf pass and all it came with it but unfortunately it rained everyday we were there and they were looking forward to doing the rope course and didn t get to do it. They were very disappointed about the arcade points received with the pass and I wasn t able to buy much more since this place was already so much money for me . They enjoyed the outdoor pool a lot better then the indoor waterpark the indoor waterpark just felt too crowded and dirty, but the outdoor pool unfortunately only stayed open the first day we were there after that it was closed for the summer. One thing my husband was very disappointed about was having to pay for parking the whole entire stay and that wasn t cheap either. The food there was also expensive and we had to leave to get fast food around the area and that wasn t easy either since they were under renovations for lobby there was very limited parking on the conference center side even thought they have a shuttle running to get you there it was still very inconvenient for us. At one point when I found close parking this lady was standing there with her bags saving the spot I thought wow is it normal to do that now a days, that was ridiculous so I kept going to find another spot as I was not going to start and argue with her over a spot. The magic quest game was my favorite but not enough stations to get the quest completed as there are so many others who were playing it. Overall to be honest it s way too overpriced for what it is thank you great wolf we tried it and experience it but might not likely do it again. We might try and do just a day pass for the one they just opened 9 miles away from my home in Webster tx just to check that out and see how that waterpark is. My little girl did enjoy all your to do events for the day like the crafting sessions and the dance party so definitely keep that up.

My family and I spent four days and three nights at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas over the Labor day weekend. This was our first time here and I must say, this place is amazing! From our room, the check-in process, all the events and activities they have for all three of our children, ages 16, 14 and 4. It was my daughters birthday and she LOVED IT! There was something to do for all of them! From the bowling, arcade, mining for gems, Starbucks, MagiQuest (this game was so cool for the whole family) and lets not forget about The Grounds! My wife and I had so much fun with our children here. My two oldest enjoyed rope climbing and zip lining that they both wanted to do it twice! Even my wife had a wonderful time! The indoor and outdoor Waterpark were amazing and my whole family was at awe! Staff was so helpful and very professional when it came to making sure our stay was perfect in every way! The food was delicious and they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and satisfied. Even tho, they are under construction to make this resort even better. They worked hard at making my whole family enjoy themselves and made this trip very memorable! The check-out process was just as easy! Love the late check-out! The family and I enjoyed everything Great Wolf Lodge has to offer! I must let it be known that one of the managers, Anna Sue was so helpful and made the whole family smile! It was nice that Anna Sue was all over the resort and was there if we had questions. Also, Allyson at the front desk helped us out on two different occasions. She as well, was very helpful and made it so clear on the answers we asked about. This made my stay here at Great Wolf Lodge so much better! My family and I will now be coming to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas yearly for our family vacation! We are excited to see the updated version next year! Also, thanks for the heads up on the construction being done before we arrived. I love the Great Wolf Lodge App! See you all next year! The Castillo Pack!

We were very excited to do a staycation here for Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, it was very bad timing as they are doing a big renovation project so the main entrance is closed, and many areas inside are shut down/no access. We had to walk or take a makeshift shuttle back and forth to our car all weekend because there was no exit/entry on one entire side of the building which meant lots of walking and foot traffic inside. The faucet was broken in our bathroom so the water dripped all night and you couldnt shower. Rooms were otherwise okay--just surprised to see how underwhelming they were for such an expensive cost. I figured the waterpark would make up for the expense, and while fun, it was not worth the high cost of the room. Then, my kid slipped in the lot behind their construction porta potty runoff (!) so we had to strip him down before he could get into the car to go back home. The construction was a MAJOR bummer--very bad experience for our first visit, and unfortunately I doubt I will try again when it is complete. And now I just opened my receipt to find the hotel double charged my card almost $200 for the breakfast buffet. They gave me a vague, someone will contact you in 72 hours to address the double charges, so hopefully I will be able to get the money back. The whole trip was really an expensive waste of time and money. If you live nearby, save your $$$ and just visit the park if you love standing in line for waterslides. Rooms: Our bathroom wasnt in working order. Safety: Wet run off from behind the construction potties on the narrow part of the street, so no way to walk around it when cars are driving by (and you have to walk due to construction detours). My child slipped and fell in it. Didnt get hurt this time, but super unsanitary and unsafe. Noteworthy details: They are doing major construction right now. Consider visiting when it is complete as it had a very negative impact on our stay in terms of service, traffic and convenience.

We had a fire alarm go off at midnight due to the construction. We have been to this location every year. Over 8 times. This time it was horrible. 09/01/2024. Dont go. Wait until construction is done. Save up because they have gone way up on prices. We spent $704. For 1 room for 1 night. We played 6 arcade games. Ate 1 meal for 4 people at a restaurant that cost $120 of that amount. Bought 1 magi adventure and 2 coffees. Plus $17 in parking. I cant imagine what the bill would have been if I didnt pack in our breakfast/lunch. Good luck! I hope they get themselves together because this was not a good experience.

Room had cracks in the ceiling water pressure sounded like a train lights didnt work and the thermostat was broken. There is so much construction now and nothing to do besides water park and the arcades. A wolf pass? Includes a build a bear that isnt open! So many people and one little hall to the waterpark. Save your time and dont visit. At least not during the slight construction. I have stayed with my family 3 different occasions and never had any issues. This was our 4th time, and worst time ever visiting. I know issues occur with systems, but we added our card to our wrist bands before going to the water park. Once we got to the water park, we waited in line 14 minutes at the bar (the bartender was the slowest bartender ever) before another customer told us that the system wasnt even working and they couldnt charge wristbands or to the room. They also didnt even have the water slides open outside, when we specifically chose this weekend to enjoy the outdoor waterpark. We couldnt even navigate meet and greets because of the cheer convention happening in the same area. Once again, I get the construction but there was no consideration for the fact that everyone was in that area and made it packed, unable to enjoy any activities. I also get that conventions occur, but the definitely should NOT have during construction where EVERYTHING is re-routed to the convention area. Our kids mostly care about the dance party, which we waited all day for. The weather made it unable to be outdoors (temp area due to construction) which I also understand, but it got moved into a hallway where there was no room to walk or enjoy the party. There were also technical difficulties and after a while we just gave up and went back to our rooms. My kids were super disappointed that the party wasnt even close to how it had been in the past. We saw the lobby was under construction once receiving the initial email a few days ago, but the extent of the construction was not explained enough. This caused elevator wait times to be 12+ minutes, super long walks to get to any of the dining/shops/things to do, etc. I would not have booked whatsoever if I knew the extent of the construction affecting GWL. They offer a shuttle temporarily due to construction (only on weekends) that was a wait every time you needed it, and since it was a tiny shuttle sometimes it would be full. The parking lot by the convention area (temp check-in) is super tiny, so you will likely be parking in the overflow (front) unless you plan to drive around forever looking for a spot to open. If you cant get on the shuttle, get ready for the longest walk ever to the convention center. And then another massive walk once inside to get to anything. Not to mention, when we were leaving there were two women smoking a blunt in the parking lot by the convention entrance. No employee said anything even though the smell of weed was filling the lot, and the valets were all chilling out there. I am not usually a complainer especially after spending 12+ years in customer service, but I would have liked a discounted stay for the inconvenience of the entire stay we dealt with. I would have never willingly paid over $300+ for one night of dealing with half of what we did. I deserve a refund or major discount at this point. This was a splurge in this economy, and to leave with my kids disappointed and so much money spent is really upsetting.

After we finished eating the waiter asked what room he needed to bill and we told him we had gotten a voucher. They did not have the voucher and refused to let us leave to get the voucher. I showed him the text I had gotten from Willow about the voucher and he still wouldn t budge. So I left and went to the front desk where they had my voucher waiting. I did not appreciate the way he made us feel like we were trying to steal food like we didn t just pay hundreds of dollars to even be there. Other than that incident my kids really enjoyed swimming. It wasn t busy for a Thursday. Friday was a little busier.

This is our third time here. The family had a blast. We took the offer of the ultimate food and fun. You save some money and get a few things for your kids to enjoy. There is construction going on. The outdoor pool area was closed due to that and the end of the summer season. Overall, the room was clean, the common areas were clean, staff was friendly and the pizza was a great value.

As of August 2024 the resort is basically a construction zone. Lots of main areas are closed the parking situation is a nightmare. There were zero available spots (that you have to pay $15 for even as a paid hotel guest) by the conference center on a Thursday night during the school year. The main lobby is closed. The outdoor water park is closed weekdays right now. Really feels like a sub-standard experience for what should be a premium resort. I suggest waiting until theyre done with construction before planning a trip here.

**update, never again. We will never go again. We have had repeated attempts on our bank account even after they have been paid. They over drew our account charged us for towels even though they were turned in (and scanned in) all we got for answers is I m not sure why this is happening & and we don t see anything on our end . All I can say is never again. We live fairly close by so we go a couple times a year, this time 8/26-27/24we were unaware of the construction until after booking and it was a please check in, in the new temporary lobby type thing. Which honestly not a huge deal since we only go over night most times. But when we did get there their system was messed up had a hard time checking in, room keys didn t want to work at any of their eating places or anything (kept telling us room info incorrect) again not a huge deal but frustrating none the less. But my over all complaint is their beds. They are spending a ton of money to update things which is awesome but they shouldn t skip on the rooms/bed. The bed we got this time was half hard/firm and half had a huge dip (2 of us could fit in it!) when you sit on the bed it flopped the other person around as if it was an air mattress and made a awful noise. My body as so sore that we chose not to swim the next day. Was sad that we spent all that money to be miserable instead of getting a good nights rest.

BEWARE BEFORE YOU BUY! There was very poor communication happening revolving around the construction and off-season situation. Customers were not informed about construction happening/affecting their stay until AFTER the purchase was made. (barely a notice through an email after purchase.) I understand that renovations happen, but the information only coming AFTER a purchase feels deceitful, as many customers would not purchase if they knew. Not only did the construction affect the stay (extremely loud noises during meals, noise during the night and early morning outside the hotel room, certain attractions being moved or closed), BUT ALSO many opportunities that we looked forward to in our stay were completely closed down with NO indication or notice. For example, we were not informed that the entire outdoor pool would be closed until we were already headed to it. We had intended to purchase a cabana and enjoy the heat outside. We were told it closed due to short staffing however it was open the previous day. The same thing happened again with the dinner buffet. The app said it was OPEN however, when guests arrived, it was completely closed down. After inquiring, we were told once again, it was closed due to staffing issues. We actually had many other problems during our stay as well, however those were the most important issues. Im not sure what is going on with the managerial teams, or those involved with communication, however, it is clear that improvement needs to be made for sake of customer satisfaction.

This was our first time at a Great Wolf Lodge. We decided to book a few days in the middle of the week and after school had started. Overall, the water park was a lot of fun. The lines were minimal and it was an enjoyable experience. We were disappointed to find out the outdoor portion of the waterpark was closed during our middle of the week stay. It did appear that the staff in the pool areas were very watchful. Be prepared to do ALOT of walking. The location is currently under construction. This means minimal parking availability (even in the middle of the week) and using an alternate entrance. Our room was really far from the elevator. We got at least 14000 steps per day walking around. My family didn t mind this but I could see it being an issue for others. Keep in mind parking will be an additional $15 per day. The room was the biggest disappointment. The shower was mostly unusable. We couldn t take showers two different times due to lack of hot water. The one shower i got to take switched between waves of extremely hot water, and water with a usable temperature. The fire alarm blinks with a bright light throughout the night every few seconds. The AC would not cool the room lower than 70 and so I was hot the whole night. I think we would definitely come back for a day trip to the water park, however I would prefer to stay at a different hotel.

As someone else said this place is kind of hard to review because the children s experience versus the parents experience are vastly different. My kids had an amazing time which is kind of the main reasons you go to a place like this. They really love the indoor waterpark even in the summer heat It s able to stay somewhat cool in there. From my perspective this place is getting pretty dated and worn down. They are currently remodeling the lobby so you have to go check in at the conference center side which is kind of pain. The Entire place whether common, areas, hallways, elevators, the rooms, all just need basic maintenance and updating . We were there during the summertime in Texas, which is hot. The room that we had on the eighth floor would not cool down. The A/C was running and blowing cold air, but it just wasn t enough to cool down the room. It was so hot that my son and girl had to sleep essentially right in front of the AC unit duct. my wife and I could not sleep until the room finally cooled down at like 2 AM. I tried to call the front desk and asked them if they possibly had a fan or something, but it was just a voicemail that said they were closed?! I was kind of shocked by that. I mean, you can go stay in a Holiday Inn express somewhere and call the front desk at any time and somebody always answers. it was so hot in the room that I was considering leaving in the middle of the night and going home. The next day I did go home and had to bring back fans and that helped some. We ate at the fireside restaurant which was very slow and service was not all that great. The hamburgers we re not that good. The steak was OK. The next night we just had pizza by the pool and the pizza was good. I don t think will be going back unless the kids bug me about going back and they re running a really good promotion than maybe I would.

Awful from the moment we arrived. I knew they were under construction as the website has a banner for it but that did not make up for all the ways they went wrong: - one entry to the ENTIRE resort- what did this result in? Parking extremely far, no drop lane so that you can Atleast unload one adult with children and luggage, valet takes up HALF of the parking lot by the one entry (they should walk to get cars, not guests), shuttle runs extremely slow from point of entry to parking lot In my opinion- these have nothing to do with construction: - entry point has a lack of signs directing you to the temporary check in area - tiny space to wait in line to check in (area between ropes - not the room itself) - no direction for self check in or assisted check in - the person who checked us in tried only giving me 1 of the 2 passes I paid for, THEN gave me the less expensive one when it wasnt what I paid for (To avoid the hustle of having to go ALL THE WAY BACK to the desk I asked them to just credit me the difference but then my kiddos didnt get to do the magic quest) - the person who checked us in didnt offer ears, an itinerary (didnt tell us anything about the resort or activities) not were my 2 boys offered the complimentary ears - we went to buy a drink at the pool and guess what- apparently you can link a card to your wrist band... the person who checked us in didnt mention that either so we walked alllllll the way back to do this - coffee machine never worked - NONE of the vending machines on our floor had water - tub faucet consistently dripped - AC never cooled any cooler than about 70 - indoor water park smelled of chlorine so bad that our family of 4 had massive beaches and irritated eyes after only an hour - so many deflated tubes floating around - arcade employees did a terrible job advising us that with the pass we bought the kids would only get to play 2 games (upsell opportunity for the resort to get us to buy more credits) and with the very few tickets the kids got, they barley had 5-8 items to choose from for prizes 5 of which was candy like tootsie rolled - had no clue about any of the restaurants being open - no clue about the Starbucks - no clue about the gift shop I could go on and on and on about this experience. My advice, call and ask if theyre still under construction before you go. Dont plan on any employees knowing answers to your questions. One of them didnt even know that the shuttle existed. Awful experience for $700! ($600 after the $100 credit they gave me) One positive I can say is that after my review from their survey site- the water park manager reached out. Good for him taking initiative! No one else has reached out though. Megan Russell

3rd time writing. 2 filling out comments that team member would respond and no response. This vacation is booked yearly before back to school. Not a great experience this time. The remodeling I was not aware of as it is in small notification on site. We had the cabin room with great view of slides outdoor and balcony. The room was dirty. Residue from previous guest in noticeable places that should not be missed. Floor not vacuumed well and seemed old like it needed replaced. The bathroom floor completely sticky, tub filled like mini pool while taking shower. Asked for different room but request ignored. Sign that we shouldve left. The power went off for hours during our stay. That really brought up musty smell in rooms and hall. Limited access at this time to other adventures like Majic Quest, etc. Interrupted activities for use of facilities. Additionally, you were short staffed which caused slides outdoors to be unaccessible. Need to do better. Not such a fun vacation this time. People drive from all over including us all for disappointment. Rooms: Old. Outdated carpet. My room was not completely clean or have refreshed feeling. They are remodeling. Just not sure if rooms are part of it. Nearby activities: The outlet mall and restaurants are not a far drive away.

First time experience and it was an okay, I understand from other reviews that some people are okay with the noise during breakfast time, but the same people need to understand that maybe yall visit this establishment when there was no renovations going on. We were never told about the renovation until a day before when we called in advance. Second, the room was so so. The floors were dirty and I would assume the carpet does not get shampoo or vacuum. My sons feet were black on the bottom. There was left over pouches in the mini fridge, the door did not close properly unless you pulled or pushed depending on whether you were coming or going. The counters were kind of dirty as well. Another thing that was frustrating was the elevators by the conference area. So many people besides me with kids, luggage, and other items had to either wait for over a few minutes for the elevator or walk to the next available elevator. Finded out that the elevator was broken. Especially since our room was on the other side of the hotel. We mentioned the issue to the customer service desk and with a i dont care attitude was told if we had said anything to the staff close by. How could no one noticed this issues when so many people are passing through this arae. Restaurants were not honoring their closing times and we were told that other places to eat were closed due to short staff. Please understand that if people are paying to stay and enjoy this establishment that the least you can do is be available especially if Im staying one day. Last thing i would mentioned is that the outside area was closed in certain spots. The time and money spent I would have loved the experience to be much better.

READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING!! This trip was our second stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, and it was a complete disappointment. We will not be coming back. The hotel is undergoing major construction, which is not disclosed in detail before booking. We called ahead specifically to confirm that the outdoor area (water park, slides, and Rope Climbing Course) would be open during our stay. The outdoor area was the main reason we chose to return, as we had already experienced the indoor portion during our last visit. The staff assured us it would be open, but that turned out to be a blatant lie. We stayed from Monday to Thursday, and the outdoor area was closed every single day. Each day, the staff gave us the runaround, promising it would open later or the next day. Eventually, they shifted to the excuse of low staffing, which they must have known about when we called weeks before. We would have booked elsewhere if they had been honest from the start. The entire hotel desperately needs updates, and the construction is ongoing everywhere. Its great to see that updates are being made, but these disruptions should have been clearly mentioned on the website and reflected in the pricing. They werent. The noise was unbearable we couldnt even have a normal conversation during breakfast due to the constant drilling. It felt like we were eating on a construction site. There is also no impressive lobby or panoramic view of the waterpark - that area is completely covered and under major reconstruction (see pictures). The check in is now in the back of the resort in a depressing-looking conference room. We were really looking forward to this trip, but it turned into a frustrating and unpleasant experience. Save yourself the hassle and look for other options. This location needs to reconsider how they treat their guests seriously. We mentioned our disappointment at the front desk, and the staff offered us a 25% discount on the room prices, which was a nice gesture. However, after thinking about all of the disappointments (there were some room issues that I dont even care to type up) and the fact that literally 50% of the attractions were inaccessible (see the picture of the map - the highlighted section was closed the entire time), a higher discount should have been offered. We will definitely not return.

A huge disappointment compared to the last Wolf Lodge we were at. The biggest disappointment, and i realize school is back in session, but its still nice and hot outside and youve really got the outside pool and slides and attractions closed????? If I would have known this we would have gone to Kalahari and Tom Fooleries. You literally closed half of the park down during summer! This wolf lodge is good unless youve been to other and much better wolf lodges! Plus they have a massive remodeling project going on. I personally dont see the value in the outrageous prices you charge. Oh yeah and you really charge $15 a night fpr parking when we pay X amount for a room?? Ridiculous! I still gave 3 stars because the kiddos enjoyed it. Online, the Kids camp room looks like you can draw a curtain so they have their own privacy and we can cut down on TV light/noise once they go to bed but we found out after chexking in it does not.. But, serioulsy, why close the outside pool, slides amd attractions during the summer? We wont be back unless there is a massive overhaul, especially since Kalahari is almost an hour and a half closer to us with better amenities!

I thought I was going to a water park. No, this place is a harry potter training school for children. They give the kids capes and wands and tell them to go cast spells and use books of incantations as they play a harmless game throughout the while building. and they have satanic symbols and runes etched all over, in the carpet, and everything. They have the masonic handshake, and other symbols that prove this is not a Waterpark with a small witchcraft fane, but rather a masonic lodge masquerading as a Waterpark (which is a pathetic waterpark) but really their agenda is to condition children to accept witchcraft and the masonic way of pursuing Satanism. If you are a believer, you have no place here. I will never go back. Also, there was a spiritual darkness the whole time we were there. And we turned on the TV and found the great wolf lodge channel, like paw patrol, but with demonic enemies chasing them, and they ran into a cave and Were told to pray to the great wolf spirit and there was a statue, a huge idol in the cave that they all were bowing down to. Its just wrong. Bad place. And on top of all that, the prices.. outrageous! They try to get $20 out of you here and there and you can easily spend thousands of dollars in a few short days.

None of the lobbies or main areas are open currently (and for the next 10 weeks-Im told), but this was not communicated to us until an email received the day of arrival. It didnt help matters that it was insanely crowded. Management should look at reducing the number of bookings since everything has been condensed considerably. If you are in a first floor with a balcony/porch, check the door lock. Ours looked like it has been broken into and would not lock. When we brought this to their attention, they sent someone out to fix it. The fix was a rusted piece of scrap metal that was screwed into the door frame. I could open the door with hardly any force and the metal would bend. Just fyi, this is room 1001.

We had unpacked all of our stuff(because in previous times we were able to store our luggage while our room was getting cleaned so we could go swimming) but that was no the case we then went back and put the luggage in the car. I also have a son with ASD and sensory issues. This is not the place for him. There is no room for him to let off stress without getting hurt. Disappointing- we had 2 rooms. The main entrance is under construction which there is no notice, so to get to our room was all the entire length of the building, up the elevators then the entire length back with all the luggage and after traveling all day. Wednesday the outdoor water area was open and the TTK buffet which had a great menu. Thursdays the outdoor water area was closed due to the college students going back to school and they were only able to open from 5:30 - 8 (both Thursday and Friday). None of this was disclosed - my family flew across country to enjoy some sunny weather and ended up only being able to use the indoor park. The buffet restaurant only had half the menu at the same price which was basically chicken nuggets, french fries, some kind of dried beef and penne pasta and something that was supposed to be Alfredo I think- $30 pp. We were told corporate said they weren t busy enough to have a full buffet - they should ve halved the price. The staff was very friendly and quite frankly honest about what was going on with staffing. One even said they were calling all of the life guards they had on file to see if they could get someone in. I am all for remolding and such, but not at the expense of losing a customer. I do not recommend this location.

A must and go-to place if you want to spend some good time with the family. Checkin was smooth. The room was very clean and well maintained. Throughout our trip, we were well received by each and every member of the staff/waiters/attendants at the hotel, as well as the stores. Food was good. They have decent options for both dinner and breakfast buffets. Very very friendly staff here too. Priced just right for both adults and kids. Both Vegetarians and Meat lovers can equally enjoy the buffets. It was almost like what you get in Disney, you can t complain. But, when it comes to general services, they take good care of things. The Magi s quest was really fun. Kids loved it. Except you have to run between 4 floors, if you don t really plan well . Quick Tip: Take picture of the hints and listen to your kids We experienced power outage for a couple of hours during a hot day, and incidentally asked to go back to the rooms. There wasn t power there either. The staff assured us that the hotel will provide some kind of incentive/refund for the inconvenience incurred, but haven t heard anything yet from them. The other issue we faced was, they were short staffed, and closed the outdoor water rides during one of the days of stay. So, the indoor park pretty much ended up being very crowded. Just a day and it was okay. Sadly, soda at the machines weren t fizzy throughout the stay! The water rides are pretty awesome. Considering, it is kind of packed with everyone planning to stay indoors during the hot summer days, we still had great fun with the water rides. Overall, we felt the stay was worth every penny, a little inconvenience here and there, but they weren t show stoppers. Great place to spend good time with family.

Not even a remote possibility that GW Grapevine could have a 4+ rating ... same park as you visited 9 years ago... soda machines still out of order... your elevator is almost... here... hurry back... that stuff your kid stuffed by the bunk beds... still there... less options on the buffet... water would be your best choice for a drink... unless you like warm flat..sodas... Forgot outside of building was falling off... looked like snow... NOPE some type of Styrofoam... Valet person said its been like that for a long time... figured it would make them sick eventually ... Hope this helps one family from wasting $$$$$ not something you would want to SAVE up for ... Rooms: stale smelling rooms... same furniture from 9 years ago... guess 4 bottles of water would take away the entire profit margin on a $400 a night room Safety: Had to assure kids that the rusty flanges and bolts under slides would not break on the way down... Food and drinks: soda machines only put out carbonated water ... or a flat soda... have to stand in line to get a cup of ice ... Chicken nugget best choice on the buffet.... order water to drink

Rooms: The rooms were nice and clean. There were NO cameras inside the rooms. Nearby activities: Inside, there is a huge water park and an adult hot tub. Safety: Lifeguards everywhere. Food and drinks: If you have food allergies, this is not the place. But the food looks great.

We planned a trip for our six year old daughter s birthday booked the Grizzly suite and birthday package. The trip started rough with all the construction and parking confusion which was understandable with construction. We went to check-in and had the greatest experience with our host Jessica. Jessica welcomed us upon check- in and made our daughter feel very special for her birthday. I can t thank her enough for her professionalism and kindness. Great Wolf made a great decision hiring her. We are praying for her to have a safe delivery for new baby! The trip has been amazing and we are so grateful to be here! This place is just as my daughter imagined but even better! Rooms: Grizzly suite is awesome Walkability: Easy to get to everything Food and drinks: Great buffet

The worst mini vacation we have ever experienced. Me and four friends took a trip to the grapevine location about two weeks ago. As we were unloading our luggage under the carpool, we were notified by angry customers, leaving the premises that the electricity was out, and they didn t know when it would be turned back on. They told us we could go ahead and go in, but we would have to wait an over an hour long line just to check in and even after we checked in we didn t have electricity and we weren t allowed in the pool. We had Planned on doing valet parking and we asked what would we be charged? We had two cars for our group and they told us that we would be charged $36 total Per vehicle. The location never cooled off we sweated all night long the following morning we decided to go to breakfast Between the five of us, we asked that our bill will be split between all five of us, and we were told that the card machines were down due to electricity going out and they would have to charge the room. We asked if we could see the receipt so we could split the charges between us. The receipt was printed out for 157. We were charged 180 for breakfast 80 for parking for one vehicle and additional 82 for the other vehicle. I have done everything I can on my end. I file a dispute. I have called great Wolf Lodge more times than I can count now just asking to have the bill at least explained to me. The only reply I get each time is that they aren t able to give details details about your billing. LOL I was told they would create a case number and give me a call back which I have not received. I would not Great Wolf Lodge to anyone.

Such a difficult place to review because the adult experience is vastly different than the children s experience. I ll say 5 stars from the kids perspective. The resort is most certainly designed for their entertainment and there is enough to do to keep them engaged. From an adult perspective 1/5 stars. It s absurdly pricey, the staff are far too young for the cost of the resort as I d expect better service and professionalism at the price point, the food is deplorable, drinks are all non alcoholic no matter what they tell you and there is an upcharge for EVERYTHING. I wish it was all inclusive so I could give all of my money upfront and never have to worry about it again. Otherwise I began to get charge fatigue which compromised my experience. I would have gladly paid an extra $1k to just enjoy my kids happiness without a constant bill of some sort. Advice to management: Please train your staff to be attentive to guests as opposed to each other If the adult restaurant and bar is closed for the weekend, discount the stay Consider an all inclusive package Update your rooms. They are disgustingly filthy. If there is a conference coming up, inform guests so that children are not being separated from their families. (A sweet little boy lost his parents due to the volume of conference attendees that separated them while he was walking with them.) Rooms: Gross. Not worth a stay. You may be better off at a local Airbnb Food and drinks: Pack your own foods and snacks. The food is inedible, the drinks have zero alcohol and the options are awfully limited.

It is a good hotel to bring children but we tend to come during construction time and obviously there were changes to enter and check in but within the norm it is a good hotel for children to play in its water park

Major renovations ruin this experience- stay away for the foreseeable future. You have to take shuttle to and from your car! The renovations mean that much of the place is moved around and there is no lobby, nor way to park in front of the hotel. Good luck signing in- it is a madhouse in their makeshift lobby in the event center. There is no place to put suitcases. Ridiculous. Also, the entire outdoor area of the park was closed. Looks like they cant hire enough teenagers at minimum wage to open it. Also, my bill was wrong. I asked if I could get a late checkout. Not if I could pay 60 bucks for the privilege. Everything is overpriced and overbooked. The place is packed to capacity, and this was a Monday!!

Do yourself a favor and save yourself the back pain. Dont book your stay here. It s super expensive and not worth it at all. The rooms are old and outdated at GWL. No smart TVs whatsoever. You would think for the price they would update things but no they did not. The rooms also have a terrible smell and were not clean. If we had known the beds were so awful we would have stayed at the Embassy instead which isn t far from GWL. Now we re headed back home from vacation with terrible back pain. Rooms: Very unclean and the rooms have a terrible smell.

Rooms: Overall the kids had a blast but the rooms were only good for aesthetic purposes otherwise, over all uncomfortable. Beds were horrible and sleep can make or break a trip. Sadly broke the trip but Im glad the kids enjoyed a Waterpark and arcade. I just couldnt get them to have a good sleep either.

This was the first time coming here for me and my son. -I purchased the whirlpool room which was something that we were REALLY looking forward to. 30 minutes before check in, I get a text message that it s broken, and so they switched us to the Wolf den room. Huge disappointment. -I received emails and text to check in prior to 4pm. So I followed the prompts. When I arrived to the lodge. Absolutely none of the staff knew how to get the wristbands since the system already checked me in. I waited like 20 minutes with a lady and her tablet and then she told me to wait in line and check with the desk. Another 20 minutes. -Paying for parking when you already purchased packages and packages and nights to stay, kind of ridiculous as well. -I purchased the dining pass and it did not work the first day. It kept saying cannot fetch data . Again, none of the front desk staff or restaurant staff knew how to help. They literally said I have no idea and shrugged their shoulders. I ended up paying out of pocket for the food. -When we checked out at 11am, the dining pass was trouble AGAIN. Billing was messed up. Refunds or charges were everywhere. I kept all my receipts and am checking my credit card statements as they come. This was all ridiculous. -With the water parks. They were fun. & maybe it s because it s summer, it was way too crowded. Lazy river was a safety hazard. Only complaint was that for the 3 water slides, there was only one staff. No instructions on safety or anything given. Again, overcrowded. -Some elevators did not work and the wait time was crazy long. It was also extremely long while you wait for them. The all you can eat breakfast was amazing. Waiters took a while to get to us, but I know it was extremely busy too. It was all frustrating unfortunately. We were really looking forward to this. Again, maybe it was the time we came. We might try again when it s not so busy. There was a very kind worker with the pretzels that let us have a free smoothie. That kind of put the cherry on top.

The family and I went here for the end of summer vacation. We did not have to leave campus for anything during our stay. There are so many activities for the kids and on-site shops, a chow hall that serves a variety of foods for everyone, a series of pools and water slides, games, and many other activities. The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was all about having a good time, and I met several awesome employees and guests. My kids want to come back. Walkability: Everything you need is on campus.

This was a great family vacation. They offered a special to extend our stay by an extra day. We took advantage of it. They didnt have the right room size, so they upgraded us for free. We had an issue that they couldnt immediately fix ... so they upgraded us again... so the room for the extra day was amazing. Magiquest was amazing... The water park, both indoor and outdoor is real nice, but they sell way too many day passes for NON hotels residents... so, at mid day, the line for the water slides is an hour long... but that did not deter from the trip, we still spent many hours in the water park and absolutely enjoyed ourselves.

The water park is great. 2 of the sections were closed though and this water park isn t as big compared to others. The activities available within the hotel are fun. Even with all that considered, I don t think that i could stay here again until they did some renovations. The carpet made me cringe and everything is dated. If you can add a couple hrs to your drive it s worth going to Kalahari in round rock.
