Ben and Daniel are both incredibly knowledgeable on cocktails and bourbons. Seriously. Pick their brains and dont be scared to ask. From the start to finish it was an adventure in enjoying a range of incredibly well made cocktails to an exploration of bourbons, including ones I havent ever tried. Ben and Daniel were both incredibly gracious hosts and I fully recommend grabbing some properly made cocktails. The finis and the aphrodites kiss were luciously fruity and went down way too easy. Ask them for less or more sweet for your palate! Ps. I got made a monkey!

Small speakeasy with amazing cocktails! Love the artwork in the lobby! Reservations are highly recommended! Need a special code or someone to open the door for you with the secret code. Do you feel lucky? Well do you? Go see the hostess in the hotel vin restaurant and ask to be admitted. The decor and atmosphere are awesome and the mixologists as fast and friendly!

Great place with amazing drinks and bartenders. You have to make reservations to get into this place. You also have to leave a deposit to make the reservation and the place is so small you may have to wait some weeks before you are able to get there on a Saturday evening. However, the place is worth it. The atmosphere, the drinks, the wait, it all complements perfectly for a an amazing night out.

Excellent Speakeasy. We visited on a Saturday night. Our server, Ben, was very attentive and gave us recommendations on drinks. Our bartender, Daniel, made some killer drinks. The vibe is very 1920s with jazz/lounge music. My wife and I enjoyed the gold fashioned, Aphrodite, Dealers Choice and Espresso Martini

Tldr cocktails... If you like em, read on, otherwise, look elsewhere. Heres the thing, speakeasy is a cocktail culture. If you like neat spirits, you may find things in ANY speakeasy that works, but the main thing is the bartenders are booze whisperers. You speak in broken English what you do or dont like and they will make the most amazing cocktail for you. If you think you like cocktails but arent sure, just dive in and open up to your bartender. They will help you. Yes, the drinks are more expensive, but at max they allow is 14. So if you LOVE cocktails AND intimate settings, this is the place for you.

We found this cozy, wonderful speakeasy while we were in town. We absolutely loved it. Quiet and quaint. Low lighting and decor. Everything we love about a speakesy. The bartenders were great and the drinks were really good. I read some of the other reviews and some dont really know what a speakeasy is.... i guess. I will be coming back to this one. Also try their signature drinks!

If youre looking to feel bougie for an hour without having to drive into Dallas, this is the spot for you! The vibe is dark and moody... so much that you have to take out your iphone light just to read the menu. I always go for the Dealers Choice drinks because the drinks on the menu look too sweet for my pallet. Be prepared to pay roughly $25 per drink. Truly, its the exclusive experience that youre paying for. Also note, you can only make reservations for 4 at a time. So, you may have to stagger your large parties every 15 minutes. I do wish that entry experience was a more creative and true to a classic speakeasy. Guests check in at the Bacchus hostess stand, then a hostess walks you into the booth and types in the code on the digital lock. It seems like you should be able to check-in via the rotary phone in the booth, receive the code, and enter yourself. All in all, its not the speakeasy experience youll find in FW or Dallas... but its still special for a moms night out, birthday, or date night! Cheers!

I liked the aspect that it is behind doors and a little hidden. Not as small as I heard from the other reviews, the place holds 18-20 total, but is not that small, actually the perfect size. Others were complaining about the chairs, and as a speakeasy the chairs are actually great and the tables are small, but it is fine, as there is no food, so just drinks. The music is older top hits and isnt that loud, so you can talk easily. I got a maple old fashioned and it was great. My wife got their twist on a cosmopolitian and I got their twist on another bourbon drink. When you ask for them to make their version of something they ask a few times if you like thier drink they made up for you since if you dont like it, then they just make you another one for free until you really like their drink they made up for you, so it is cool that you get to try new drinks without feeling like you have to pay for it if you dont like it. The pours are very heavy and seemed worth the price that is a little more than your normal drink prices. One of the best places ever for drinks.

It s basically a half-attempt at the speakeasy concept. The place is decorated well, great vibe when you initially walk in but SO small. Literally 12-15 people is all it can hold and must be reserved. Finally the service area is so micro that the 2 bartenders on staff are bumping into each other shoved into a corner. Horrible layout and space for effective work flow. Finally if you re going to be so bold as to charge $20-$30 dollars for a cocktail, you have to get some bartenders in there with more experience behind the bar in mixology. With time spent developing their skill and pallet. You need seasoned professionals serving craft cocktails if you re going to be priced higher than many craft LA or NYC bars. My wife and I had 3 cocktails total and our tab was $68 before tip. The drinks weren t bad but they were by no stretch of the imagination worth the $.

I would recommend against booking a reservation for this bar through Open Table. They charge a $25 fee if you cancel within 48 hours, but they make it impossible to cancel. Theyve disabled the ability to cancel within Open Table, and their phone system tells you to go to Open Table and doesnt let you reach a person or leave a message. So if you book here and something comes up, youre just going to be out $25 (PER PERSON) even if you try to cancel days before. Deeply shady.

Nice little spot in an already great venue overall (Harvest Hall). Down side is that it was an afterthought which means its very small and requires paid reservations and a limited time slot. Those are the only criticisms. Otherwise worth at least one visit and if you think about it ahead of time to make the reservation and plan accordingly.

Heard amazing things about the cocktails and service. Made reservations for our last night in Grapevine. Left pool at Gaylord early to make our reservation only to be told less than 30 minutes before time that they had to cancel due to a scheduled event. Not cool and not good service. Disappointed that this will be our last night s memory of the Vin and the Magnum speakeasy.

Really enjoyed celebrating a friend s birthday here. Just a few things to know going in: 1) it is a very intimate (small) place, but in all the good ways. Since it is reservations only, your where they seat you is pretty much your assigned seating. 2) the drink menu is set, but great. Our bartender was great and we had a great time.

I don t know why this place gets a low rating. It was a really fun speakeasy! Too many places in DFW don t bother with the theatrics. Just dim the light and call it a speakeasy but the entire set up here is enjoyable. The bartenders know what they re doing and are incredibly kind. Thank you to our server/host, Issa, who helped us very tired healthcare workers have a night to remember !! Thank you Issa !

I have to echo a previous review. It s a cool idea but poorly executed. The drinks were fine, not amazing and if the best part of the drink was the stemware, well. The bartenders entertained themselves lighting things on fire with the torch; that s how cool it was inside. Even the staff was bored. Part of a speakeasy vibe is it s full (was empty save for a party of two and us). The hall was bustling and we should have stayed out there.

I am not sure why the reviews are so low, but we had an awesome time at the Magnum Speakeasy. First, its a secret...shhhhhhh. So you need a reservation and, on the night you go, the code to gain entry. Be sure to check out the phone in the telephone booth. The craft cocktails were exceptional. Sure, its a little more expensive, but it was some of the best cocktails we have ever had. The novelty of the speakeasy concept and the quiet, intimate space was great. It was a great place to celebrate a birthday. Thanks Daniel and Renee, you were wonderful! Well be back....soon.

Never made it inside. We had reservations but the host told us that we couldn t come in because two of our party were wearing sandals. Not flip flops, opened toe shoes. There s fine print somewhere that explains the dress code. We all had a good laugh. Haven t ever heard of bar that allows tennis shoes but not sandals.

For the price of the drink it should be more... more bigger, more better, more unique. Magnum built a new room, made it interesting, then added the price to a normal drink. To make this concept work, go find a personality bartender that makes unique drinks for $20. For now I will go down to Willhoits and get the same whisky for $8.

Beautiful secret bar with a great ambiance-at least it was until a large group of loud women invaded the small space and took over the bar. Mind you, there is only seating for 18 by reservation only, and all seats were booked this evening. We were so enjoying the atmosphere and our conversations until this large group of at least ten additional people came in and ruined it for the last 30 minutes of our reservation. They were loud, took up all available floor space, and monopolized the two bartenders. I don t know how they were able to get in or why they were allowed to stay and be served, but this would have been a five star experience had management held to the standards published. If this is common, we will not return.

Atmosphere is pretty awesome. Please note you need reservations ahead of time as it is very small quaint atmosphere. Unfortunately right off the bat getting in the bar I went to the bathroom and left my husband in there to order drinks for us while I was gone. Instead of someone coming up to him and asking what he would like, the guy came up and asked very accusing how he got in. When my husband explained he had a reservation at 930, instead of that being ok, he still acted like he didnt believe him and went and checked. So....we had a drink and then left as we didnt feel very welcomed. Sad part of it is upon talking with people at the bar...this seems to be a theme with their staff. Couple of suggestions guys....you should first of all never be rude to anyone sitting inside your establishment. Second....maybe have the hostess at Bacchus walk your client in and introduce them to the staff so no one else has to feel like they shouldnt have come in. Third...maybe put the lock on the outside of the phone booth so while we are sitting there we dont constantly have to hear people trying to get in. Doubtful we will be back unfortunately.

8/10 for concept. 2/10 for execution. If you re looking for a speakeasy experience, this unfortunately isn t it. The decent atmosphere, was met with subpar drinks and service. Limited, expensive cocktail menu made by an ordinary bartender, and guests cannot order off menu. For $20-$30 cocktails, it should be made by a mixologist, supported by experienced staff, and serviced by a full bar. Recommendation for guests: you re better off drinking at Harvest Hall where you can order on and off menu. Recommendation for Magnum: hire a mixologist staff if you re going to be charging mixology prices. I want this place to succeed. It has great potential.
