I always felt KC BBQ was best but Vaqueros changed my opinion. I had friendly service outside Hop & Sting from their food truck. Wow! Have the Vaquero baked potato and brisket and the brisket nachos. Perfect accompaniment to Curse of the 7 Scorpions beer from H&S.

Delicious BBQ attached to Hop and Sting Brewery. Was hot and shared the tour of Tex Mex which we think was the right choice. The brisket in the tortillas provided with a little sauce was delightful, as were the birria tacos. In hindsight I wish I would ve drizzled the BBQ sauce on them - I know it s not traditional but I think it would ve been amazing. The elote was great. Sausage was good. Presentation fantastic. Totally worth it

Ive been dying to try this place for a good while. I finally made it out with some friends a few days ago and it was worth the 1 hour drive. Vaqueros is located right next to Hop & Sting Brewery. They have a patio right behind their food truck. Its a pretty visible light grey food truck, but the smell is what you will definitely notice when you pull in. They are known for their brisket taco, which we could not refuse. We ordered the potato salad, birria and brisket nachos. Everything was delicious! It was smoky and the brisket was tender. The tacos are small so consider ordering a few to fill up. I love the cheese they use for the nachos. The nachos are pretty filling. The Hop & Sting Brewery next door is a great place to have beer and they let you dine in with your meal from Vaqueros. Im hoping to return on my next trip so I can try other items on the menu, but Im glad we still got the chance to try a few things.

I ve been singing praises about Vaqueros Texas BBQ to all my family and friends for years. Sure, some still head to Terry Black s, Dickey s, or Pecan Lodge good riddance. For me, Vaqueros BBQ is my top pick among the five BBQ joints I frequent across Texas. I ll get around to reviewing the others someday. What sets Vaqueros apart is how Trey masterfully blends traditional Texas BBQ with diverse cultural influences, especially Mexican cuisine. You won t find BBQ like this in Kansas. Whether you re craving a classic BBQ dish or something with a Tex-Mex twist, you won t be disappointed. The flavors are bold yet comforting, and each bite leaves you wanting more, encouraging you to explore the ever-changing seasonal menu. From sandwiches and tamales to birria tacos and the standard meat plate, every meal has been a delight. Even my kids, who aren t typically BBQ fans one finds it too spicy, the other prefers chicken jump at the chance to have Vaqueros. They drop their electronics, put on their Crocs, and race to the truck. They might need extra napkins for those spicy boogers, but they re smiling ear to ear. Trey has also made Vaqueros a family business and a legacy in the making. The staff is patient and friendly, the ordering process is efficient, and there s even seating behind the food truck (pro tip for when the adjoining brewery patio is busy!). The sides and desserts are consistently fantastic. What more could you ask for? The Flip Side: If I had to nitpick and I always include a flip side in my reviews it s the flies. The brewery sprays for mosquitoes, so those aren t a problem, but house flies can sometimes be an issue. A few table fans or hanging water bags could help mitigate that. Last Pro Tip if You ve Made it This Far: While BBQ prices can sometimes seem steep, especially if you re new to it (BBQ tends to be pricier since protein makes up most of the meal), the Tex Mex plate at Vaqueros offers great value. It includes a little bit of everything, and for our family of four (with two younger kids), we can split the plate and just add a side and a serving of watermelon. Its actually a food truck in a parling lot but there is a super nice local craft brewery next to it and you can take food there while you also taste some nice. Besides bbq standards theyvalso have tacos and i also really liked their twist on coleslaw - with apples and gorgonzola

This is hands down the best BBQ I have ever had. Hell, it is probably the best thing I have ever eaten. The brisket is absolutely incredible. I tried the brisket, chipotle cheddar sausage, turkey, cowboy potatoes, slaw, and bbq brisket tacos. Words can not describe how amazing everything is. 5 stars is legitimately too low of a score.

We ve stopped by Vaqueros several times, and the food is too good to not immediately start eating. I finally remembered to get some pictures first today! Brisket, what can I say, always a great smokey flavor, seasoning and just the right amount of fat. By itself or in the Barrera tacos, it s always a favorite. The turkey was not dry, really good taste and very tender. Every side I ve had is always fantastic, but the beans are my favorite. The onion and cilantro have just enough flavor to compliment the juices and beans. Can t eat here without getting a side of em. First time I ve had a dessert, the key lime pie was good. The different sauces on the tray were good, a spicy one and a sort of sweet one, but both equally good. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they know BBQ! Had to stop by again for lunch, grab extra napkins if you order the brisket nachos! Super flavorful and more than enough to fill your belly. As always, the tacos are tops. The smoked elite was pretty good, never tried one before today, will get again.

First time visitor and the food was fantastic. Brisket was tender and flavorful, ribs were tender and bbq sauce reminds me of KC. The only downside was I didnt like the jalapeño cheese sausage. appeared to be big chunks of cheese. it did not reheat well and greasy. It is outside so be prepared to stand in line. I will definitely add it to my list of acceptable bbq places.

There will be a slow-moving line. It is worth it!!! This BBQ is top tier. Get a beer, stand in line, its not that bad. Hop and Sting Brewery has great beer, a nice outdoor patio with plenty of seating as well as indoor. Just outside the patio area is the Vaqueros trailer where you queue up, debate what to order, and get a tray of delicious food. You MUST get the brisket at a minimum. It melts like butter in your mouth. Delicious food!!!

Food was good quality BBQ overall, even compared to recent Franklin, Terry Blacks and Interstellar BBQ joint visits in Texas. I did find the beans to be a little watery and Birria was just OK, however the brisket & ribs were tasty, cowboy potatoes were good and the sausage had a nice consistency with good flavour. Queue wait time was 1 hour 20 minutes on a cold Saturday, half an hour after opening. I believe a recent award nomination may be the reason for this. The serving system needs ironing out when its this busy. Both servers were polite but organised chaos springs to mind inside the truck. We received extra birria tacos, but no pork burnt ends. Im sure they would have sorted it out, but it was busy and we didnt realise until later in the meal. This is constructive criticism. Its a hard game I personally know, and the main things of food quality and customer service are on point. Plus I loved the BBQ sauce! Definitely check it out. Plus its at brewery so beers in line

I seriously don t know how this place has such great reviews. Food has zero flavor. We tried brisket, ribs, beans, and Mac and cheese and it was all 1 out of 10. And I m by no means a picky eater, but this bbq was seriously disappointing. Save your money and go to Hutchins or even dickies bbq.

We ordered the Taste of Tex Mex, and in general, the food was high quality and well made. The brisket was moist and melted in our mouths and the smoke definitely came through in the meat. Vaqueros is where it s at. I ve eaten at many of the bucket list barbecue joints around the country, and Vaqueros is probably better than all of them. The food is literally to live for... Thats it I extremely enjoy every bite of my tacos that had such a great flavor brisket topped with this homemade blend of onions and juices and everything else that they put in it. The taco shell was crispy and flavourful the cheese and every ingredient was literally savory. This is one of the most complete food trucks Ive ever experienced.From the bike racks to the QR codes so you can stay connected, and the service was impeccable and a controlled comedy show. Mr. Chicken AKA Darrell, was Johnny-on-the-spot When he suggested I should pour Vaqueros blend of herbs on my tacos which sent my tongue on a trip to paradise. Everyone behind the counter had a great personality, candor and the ultimate Texas hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to another visit in the near future. This BBQ restaurant is a hidden gem tucked away behind the Hop and Sting brewery. Absolutely delicious food that is a must if you are nearby. I m sure most BBQ is great in Texas, but this little place is certainly a standout. You won t be disappointed. We were at the brewery and kept seeing plates of delicious looking food. All of the patrons were serious fans and convinced us that we had to try some. There was a lot to choose from but I had to sample the Prime Brisket. It was the best I ve had to date! Mouth watering and satisfying. My wife has a beef allergy(ironically bestowed upon her from the bite of a Lone Star Tick), so she had the Mom s Turkey sandwich with the Apple Gorgonzola slaw. Everything was phenomenal! Im definitely a fan now too! One little side note. When you order the sandwiches you need to request BBQ sauce, pickled red onions, pickles or jalapeños if you want any of them. You can also get them on the side.

Very good bbq!!! This is a very special food truck. Limited hours of operation (Thursdays & Fridays 4-8pm, Saturday & Sunday 12-4pm). Taco Thursday!!! Can t believe I haven t left a review here yet! One of the first places I tried when I moved here almost 2 years ago, and continues to be a favorite of mine! Trey is awesome (the pitmaster) and he s always cooking up something fun and interesting. Go for the bbq fri-sun and go for the taco night thurs! The tamale sausage is phenomenal. If he s got pastrami brisket, get it!! Everything is good here! And it s a great spot adjacent to hop sting brewery. Grab some bbq and grab a beer if you want!

The food I got was very good. I would have liked a real BBQ plate, but its only alacart. Its out of a trailer at a brewery so I hope they get their own building soon. I really wanted a plate of ribs, brisket, sausage, Cole slaw and potato salad. But you had to go to the $145 deal to get that. Once they get a real building maybe they can expand the menu. It was very good though

I think my husband order the fiesta tray since it is huge for at least 4 people to eat. I like the hot link and it is very spicy. The meat is great. The only thing im not a fan of is the tacos. Im more like street tacos and my husband said those tacos are a bit of greasy but still good. We love their food every time we come out to Hop & Sting Brewing. We chose Vaqueros to cater our rehearsal dinner for 80 guests. They were wonderful to work with and incredibly responsive. The day of the event they were on time and their presentation and set up looked amazing and matched our decor perfectly. And the brisket was melt in your mouth perfection. Our guests couldn t stop talking about it!!! We are from Austin, and several of us genuinely thought it was better than Franklin s and Salt Lick. Hands down the best brisket we have ever had. I would also recommend the smoked turkey. The sides were exceptional too. The slaw is so unique and everyone wanted the recipe!!! Our guests went back for seconds and there was plenty. We even had leftovers and yummed that up at the after party. If I could give Vaqueros 10 stars I would. The best catering experience hands down. Always looking for someones take on Birria Tacos and these did not disappoint. Well executed with a foodie friendly presentation. The consume was a little runny on my order and wished it was a bit denser, so the tacos grabbed some of it better. Ive seen other reviews where its denser. However, it does not distract me enough from returning. I was also offered a sample of their brisket, which I thought was very moist, juicy and smokey with the characteristic you come to expect when you have good brisket. Looking forward to visiting this cool spot and recommend to anyone who hasnt had any Birria Tacos before.

Heard about this place from the counter woman at a rental car place in DFW and I am so glad Brisket was amazing I think I saw Jesus when I put it in my mouth and he was holding a piece of fire wood in one hand brisket in the other Just melts in you mouth I will be back

This is a food truck. Take away or eat a bench nearby or eat a table inside the brewery next to it, Hop and Sting Brewing Company. The ribs were juicy and tasty. The staff were friendly, quick service. They also have pulled pork, brisket, smoked turkey and chicken. The ribs looked and tasted goooood

Was in town for the night. Found this place on Google. It was really good. Had the bbq birria tacos, spicy cucumber salad and elote. All were very good. Lots of flavor and super fresh. Very fast and friendly service. Highly recommend.

I must first make it clear that I didnt try the brisket or any of the smoked meats by themselves so i cant speak as to the quality of the bbq . I tried the brisket nachos, the brisket burrito and the birria tacos. The brisket on the nachos and burrito was overpowered by all the other stuff the plates had. The burrito was bathed in a cheese sauce which was good but it took from the brisket. The nachos, well they were nachos so they had all kinds of stuff on them so I couldnt really taste the quality of the brisket BBQ. As far as the birria tacos..... they were meh!!! I know I sound like I am complaining, but the place had 4.9 stars and I honestly dont agree. It was good food but no where near perfect. At the end I feel it falls on me. I should have tried the BBQ by it self.

I tried the BBQ across from the Grapevine visitors center on Main Street. no way do they even come close to the flavor or quality of the BBQ served at Vaqueros at Hop-n-Sting. the folks there were great. of course who would argue with the man chopping the beef right in front of you !!!! as Arnold once said Ill be bok

Great spot to grab some delicious BBQ. Arrived early and only waited 5-10min. Park in the brewery parking lot and grab a good beer while there too. Got the Tour of Tex-Mex platter, which can easily feed four people. It was delicious all around. Added an additional side of Mac & Cheese -it was great. If youre a connoisseur, I believe youll agree these guys deserve to be in the Top 50; if youre entry level consumer, know that youre eating some quality Que. Ill be back soon for sure and bringing more friends.

We drove from Saginaw to Grapevine to find this hidden gem. Believe me, it was worth every minute of being stuck in traffic. Ordered a hodgepodge meats: Sliced Brisket, Hot Links, Chipotle Cheddar Sausage, and (not pictured) Beans and Black Pulled Pork. Pound for pound the Sliced Brisket was the best Ive ever had. The flavors were immaculate and the meat was so tender and moist, you could cut it with a butter knife. The Links had the perfect amount of spice and were very juicy and Pulled Pork with black pepper was on point. The revelation for me was the Chipotle Cheddar Sausage, my word, it was delicious. Not to forget, the jalapeño beans complemented everything in the order. Shout out to the wonderful staff working in heat out in the truck making magic they are greatly appreciated. Vaqueros are the real deal and well worth the drive and time in line for their wonderful foods.

1st off food is great! BUT, 30 minutes waiting in line with only 3 other people in front of me is ridiculous! Y all need a better system! All plates have brisket so why wait to cut it up for each order? And why is the one cutting taking orders as well while everyone else is standing around waiting for the next step? C mon guys!! Good food, no great though the bbq flavors, on their own lacked. The tex mex spin on allot of bbq classics like birria tacos and smothered burrito filled with brisket is a cool option. I thought the pricing was fair. The pork belly was dry and did not have a great flavor. The pastrami did not hit home either. The people working there super nice, I would consider giving them another shot if I was in the area, but would not go out of my way to do so.

The service at Vaqueros deserves five stars. A response within 24 hours specifically to what I typed is legit. Otherwise, the BBQ I had today was decent. The price is very affordable but none of the flavors really hit home. Ill have to come back in the future and try Vaqueros again. But the Molino pop up on Tuesdays here is super delicious, I recommend stopping by.

Grabbed some lunch here the other day. They have a good selection of meats available in per pound amounts. I tried the Brisket nachos and they were excellent. The patio area was a great eating spot with outdoor propane heaters and picnic tables. It was easy to grab a pint at the Hop & Sting Brewery since they have the walk up window right there. Excellent, flavorful, divine, these are all words that could be used to describe the BBQ at Vaqueros but all of them would fall short of an accurate depiction of the absolute masterclass Trey puts forth with this top tier BBQ. The menu is innovative and exciting, and the meats by the pound land amongst the best, but the RIBS border on PERFECTION. My experience with Vaqueros could best be summarized in the words of my Grandfather, Itll make your tongue beat your brains out.
