First of all these my people!!! We always anxiously await to eat here, my entire family is a huge fan of this place, I will gladly always make the drive just to get a little taste of this place. As the previous, ignorant comments like to point out, yes the cooks are Mexican , BROWN & PROUD and these fellow Mexicans of mine have perfected JAPENESE food!! They got these combos of deliciousness ready to go or to dine in, everything is fresh and seasoned to perfection. Not to mention I got a free plate yesterday to take home with a purchase of 5 plates! Best place ever, best Japanese food in DFW! These other places could never. These other reviews are just way too picky, cook your own stuff at home then. A must try at the grapevine mills mall.

I didnt give him tissue until I asked for it, and I have to tell him three times to give him tissue. I was able to get a tissue. I ordered white rice, but they gave me fried rice and took up another $1. The fried rice was very greasy, and I had stomachache after eating. .

I like that I can come here during a mall trip and get vegetables & bourbon chicken for around $10. Its a solid, healthy meal without too much oil and with a good spritz of bourbon sauce. Definitely recommend.

Maki of Japan is located in the Grapevine Malls food court, serving good hibachi style meals in a fast, cheap, and convenient manner to the public. After a long day of shopping till we dropped, we had the urge to fulfill our growling bellies with food and ended up at Maki of Japan for hibachi. The line was fairly long but went fast due to the amounts of chefs on the grill whipping up the orders. We went ahead and ordered the beef teriyaki with mixed veggies over a bed of steamed jasmine rice. Within minutes of placing our order, the chef was on it working his magic. The food was packed and loaded in a Styrofoam container and presented to us after we paid our bill. The food in the container definitely was enough for more than one person and looked great! The beef was sliced thin and tender and paired well with the rice but was also very sweet. There is also a hot sauce condiment bottle to squirt into a small container to go, and I found myself using the hot sauce way too much to overpower the sweetness from the sauce. Overall, for under $10, this was a good meal to feed us and kept us going. The staff and service were nice and provided great service throughout our visit. I highly recommend this if youre in a rush and trying not to break the bank, then this is definitely for you.

Visiting from NY, ordered food and received the worst service ever. The guy at the counter with the glasses dont listen to customers. When I informed him he didnt hear what I was saying, he became nasty and threw the food to his co-worker. Had to cancel my order. Who ever owns this place need to train their staff and provider better customer service. Better yet, he should be fired!

I love this place! If I know I m coming to the Grapevine Mills Mall. I already knowing I m eating here. The teriyaki chicken is the best. It comes with mixed vegetables and your choice of fried or white rice, or noodles. It s made fresh right in front of you so it s always SUPER HOT! If you re reading this and can t decide. As a latino this is a great place to eat at the mall the portions are huge giving a reasonable price as well. Have never had a complaint about the food or a member of the staff. I come to est at maki of japan regularly and enjoy my meal everytime. The staff members are hilarious and are great with people and will make you laugh if you talk to them, while keeping service up to speed and to your liking. I love how they cook directly infront of you and i will always come back to maki of japan

The appearance of the store looks like you re going to get good food but they just talk fast and give you a little bit of food. I like these food but when coming to satisfactions I dont like it they give very little today I got very little of noodles they charge extra for noodles but give very little amount its $9 just for the plate but if you want noodles you have to pay extra I think its $2 its pretty expensive before pandemic it was only 50cents extra for noodles and the plate was $6 so yes its a very big difference.

I tried the chicken teriyaki that they were offering for free, I approached and I liked it, then I proceeded to order because I liked the teriyaki and the employee who offered me the teriyaki, knowing that I told him that I wanted a teriyaki service, served me rice and thats it and the cost was high Then I see that they dont make teriyaki for me and he dared to say that I never asked for it, even though he supposedly offered it to me and I said no when at no time did I say that. So when I ordered the teriyaki in the rice service, they charged me a lot additionally, I complained that and they tell me that the triyaki service was one price and without rice when I see that in promotion of their service they put a photo of the teriyaki along with rice for 8.99 so they charged me 14 for me it was a total deception to the customer and after that a Lies bad service first time I made the decision to give another food place a chance and they come out with this. The food was good, I wont deny it, but that employee disrespected me by insinuating that I lied.

Came here during the week and the service and food was awesome, came on Saturday and it could be anything less. Placed an order and waited in line, the person taking my order told the cashier I didnt speak spanish. Weird... Then when I go to pay for my order he tells me to go to the back of the line. I told him I was next and. He said no, go to the very back, and proceeded to talk in Spanish to the next two orders behind me and pull them forward. So I just left, feeling discriminated against, this is the last time Ill even think about this place let alone give them my money. Theres plenty of other restaurants here, dont bother with this one.

I was attracted to the counter due to the free sample I got from one of their employees. First of all, let me say the free sample tasted nothing like the food itself. The food seemed very undercooked and tasteless. The employees no longer paid attention to me once I had handed over money to them, so the customer service is quite terrible. I had to stand for almost a minute wondering where my food was, because they left it on top of the counter without informing me that it was ready.

OMG! Is there anything good I can say about the employees and how we were treated during an order at dinner time? Um... no there s not. They were playing very loud music and horsing around with each other. They were not paying attention to the orders. My wife ordered white rice with no veggies and teriyaki chicken. They messed that up and when I asked them to fix it, one of the employees cursed at me in Spanish (which I recognized the word being in law enforcement). This place is a joke... but then again, you get a certain level of experience at a food court so I guess at the end of the day it is what it is. The food was mediocre at best. Glad we got out of there and won t ever order there again!

Mediocre food, pretty typical food court Asian food. really dirty food court, sticky floors and dirty tables. but the reason I did 2 stars instead of 3 is they said the drink came with one refill. I went up to get the refill and they abruptly said I needed to wait in the ten person line for my refill. Yeah, 10 15 minutes in line is not worth it for Diet Coke that already was lacking in flavor. Unimpressed with service since food was nothing special.

I dont believe my BEEF was real BEEF. It had a strange texture to it. After eating one bite I couldnt finish the chicken or rice because I was to busy worrying if I ate real beef or not. Very bad experience

Awful service and try to rip off customers with things that I didn t order. The employee was so sneaky to add a large drink on my order and tried to charge me with more expensive food when I ordered something else. But the saddest part is the employee didn t even know how to say sorry when I caught him doing sneaky on me.
