So I receive two shirts for my birthday and they were one size smaller than my normal size.i go to return them for two identical shirts that are my size. They ask for receipt and let them know it was a gift. No receipt, tags are still on. Nope, had to pay $18 dollars more because it wasn t an equal exchange and no receipt. WTH

I just bought an Intex brand air mattress here a few days ago to go camping at Lake Georgetown. I didnt need it after all, so I came back to return it. They hit me with Oh sorry, we dont accept returns on Intex air mattresses. No real explanation for why. Something about being just the middleman for Intex. They wouldnt even let me exchange it. They didnt offer any other solution make this right. Just basically Yeah that sucks, sorry. Important note, no one mentioned this shady return policy exclusion to me at the time of purchasing this air mattress. So now Im stuck with an air mattress I dont want or need. If that wasnt irritating enough, I had to make another purchase here today, and when I tried to select the texted receipt option on the card reader screen, the screen didnt read my button press, so I have to not lose the paper receipt now. All the lady at the register has to say to that was Guess it just wanted to print it. Oh well. Thanks Academy of Georgetown. I dont plan on coming back.

My greatest experience with this store is I can always find good tennis shoes in the store this is my favorite store for every Sports I am looking for I give them a 10 because the store is always clean you walk in there and it smells fresh I recommended store to anybody thats looking for great tennis shoes any sports clothes exercise machine you needed its all in there to me they are the best store

I went in to buy some shoes. Mine are terrible and I definitely need new ones. I found a shirt then after trying on 3 or 4 pair I found the ones I wanted moderately priced for $70. So I left them on. And also note that I had no purse or backpack with me. Just my wallet, keys, and phone. I Went and found a sports bra and then went to the bathroom. During this entire time 2 employees were following me around the store and being very obvious including following me to the bathroom. I had enough so I came out took the shoes off and I actually put everything back where I got it and went to leave when like 5 people cant running out saying she took the shoes. I couldnt believe how nasty they treated me and I was prepared to spend about $150 in that store. When I showed them that they were my shoes that I had on they didnt even apologize. They acted as though they were better than. It was almost like they needed to create a problem when there was none.

Academy is a great sporting goods store. The inventory is tailored to where you life. In central Texas, there is a good stock of hunting gear and equipment, self defense and exercise clothing. The store is always clean. The always seem to have items on sale, and clearances on racks. I enjoy the store brand Magellan. The staff are friendly and they take care of their customers for sure.

The Checkout area needs work. No customers do that wasnt a problem, but to get to a register takes going through a maze to reach.....Not real good for the handicapped customers. Useful for long lines I guess, but there should be a shortcut like at Ikea.

Your bathroom is disgusting. Both urinals were broken and had garbage bags covering them. The toilets were dirty and the locks on the doors were broken. There were puddles of urine on the floor of both stalls. No one is expecting a luxury spa, but that place is just embarrassing.

Always a good place but weird experiencethus tme. Got my shoes and one did not work once I got them home. Went back to return or exchange. Found another pair to exchange for the same price. At the register I had to pay $12 to get the shoes. I had a coupon on my original purchase. Now I have to pay the difference even though the original price of the shoes were the same. Not to happy. Nice place, friendly folks and weird return policies.

This female Cashier I got tonight needs more training ,made me wait more than 20 min to get a price check on an item and refused to accept help from team mates arguing in front of me with coworker ,never went to get a similar product for price check I had to go myself !!! Good deals on shoes, shorts, shirts and socks. Its my go to for hot weather clothing. They usually have a pretty good selection of ammunition as well. Went in today, July 14th, and Janice checked me out. She was courteous and fixed price issues where the scan was higher than the price on the tags. Amazing employee.

Update: So yeah this is the 3rd time and the guys at the gun counter came in clutch. I definitely appreciated their patience and everything about the experience. Very knowledgeable, very kind. It felt less like an annoying process to go through and more like hanging out with friends. I think the staff over there are newer at this store because I haven t seen them yet but they re a really good team. Thanks again guys! The older gentleman that works the gun counter is great, enjoyed working with him. Knowledgeable, and made a suggestion on the pearl grip barkeep revolver. Good to see him smile when I talked about the nice two tone on the one I did buy. Definitely the best experience I had buying from academy, he ran a tight ship making sure he addressed all the customers.
