Wonderful addition to the Georgetown Square. Fantastic selection of new and used guitars. Their prices are very reasonable, and the selection includes beautiful instruments. The newly open lounge in the back half of the store is incorporated perfectly and offers draft beer and bottles at some of the best prices in the square. Looking forward to when they start hosting live music. Check it out.

Was better when it was still Kenz. Now the name on the inside and hanging sign is six strings. They seem more interested in being a lounge than a music store. Used to have a selection of other instruments but now all I see are some dulcimers laying on the floor and a few ukes. Its fine, I guess.

I recommend this place highly. Lotsa beautiful guitars. Owner is friendly and knowledgeable and not pushy to make a sale. My nephew and I went in to get him a guitar, he wanted a special body style . They had 2 close to his budget. They were very accommodating to him and made it happen. He loves his new 6 string. Even threw in and installed new strings!!! Business is a huge supporter of our military.

Great place. New owner. Not only was he knowledgeable, he was very friendly and helpful. I ve purchased strings capos picks and straps from this place. Recently went in looking for a new guitar for my nephew who is going into the marines. The owner did everything he could to show his support for my nephew and the military. Very impressed. He definitely has my business, plus he has some beautiful guitars !! Highly recommended this place.

What a beautiful store. Brought in a guitar to see if repairs were needed and a ballpark value woth and without repairs. Everyone was kind and they took their time looking over the guitar and giving me all the information I needed. Will definitely go back and highly recommend.

I had a great experience with Kenz Guitars in Georgetown TX. I purchased a 1994 Clapton Signature guitar from a collector over a year and a half ago. One of the original pickups wasnt functioning properly. Jesse was able to to troubleshoot the problem and make the repair without having to replace the pickup and without breaking the bank. Jesse also did a spectacular job with setting the guitar up. I will slowly but surely bring the rest of my guitars in to have proper setups done. I wont go anywhere else moving forward. Worth the drive to GT!

What a great store, in the middle of Georgetown Texas. I was looking for an inexpensive bass to practice with as I travel... Walked in and asked... Then started picking up and playing the few electric basses they had. Picked up a made in Chinese fender, on consignment, sounded good. Picked up of all things a made in China Austin p bass. Let me be clear I am a jazz bass guy, a fender guy, and a dont buy Chinese basses guy. But its sounded really good. No fret noise. The only complaint is the drop in volume when I turned the bass eq up. It wasnt a problem, just noticable. The action was smooth, played well enough for my needs. This instrument is too leave with my family so I can play when I visit. I was going to leave to try another bass .. the store offered me a deal... I picked it up for 200 plus a gig bag... He even threw a strap in from his own guitar bag. What a great store, great people, and a surprising new bass day for me. Thank you for your service. I recommend the store to all... Hopefully they will carry more electric basses in the future.

Worst experience ever. Told me a week or two to fix the 14th fret only under the high e on a brand new guitar. 3 weeks later I call, he acts like I m a jerk for asking. Says another week or two. Over 8 weeks later I pick up my guitar with it never having been touched. This store is fake and a joke and not even running the business it advertises it they tell you to your face.

I tried to get my bass guitar neck fixed back in FEBRUARY. It is now May and nothing has been worked on. The previous owner should have never handed ownership to his mentally challenged son, otherwise the production rate would not be so poor. Don t be fooled by the environment. Never going back.

So its spring break and my daughter needs to practice violin for her concert at school when she returns from Spring break. I ordered strings on amazon f9r 6.99..however one string broke while trying to put it on the violin...I went to this place hoping to pay extra to help get the strings on without breaking them..and the man working was clueless about the strings didnt even know where they were. He said the owner would be back the next day . I returned the next day and the owner was not there. There was a young man there that said he did have strings and that they would be $30!!!! That is 4 times the price for Amazon. Please dont go here.

Kens is a family-oriented, friendly place. Theyre happy to help you with your guitar needs. I havent bought a guitar there, but Ive taken advantage of their luthier services. The service on my guitar couldnt have been performed better. No need to go to Austin for guitar repair and servicing. Kens is great.

Nothing better than a locally owned small business. We have purchased guitars here numerous times over the years for our kids. It was finally my turn. Great store with great instruments, but the owner made me highly uncomfortable. He mimicked the way i asked a question mockingly, and grabbed my shoulder afterwards. Can t tell if he s a weirdo to teenage girls like me, or if hes just very friendly. My experience would have been completely fine if he had just answered my question, and kept his hands off of me.

Wow wow wow!!! What an amazing experience. I went guitar shopping today with the intention of checking out various stores and browsing for just the right guitar. Kenz was my second stop and was recommended by a co-worker. What an amazing shop. I was in there for not even a few minutes before one of the gentlemen working asked me what I was looking for and told me to sit down and try some out. At no point did I feel pressured. Had I been I probably would have just left. I had amazing interactions with the sales associate, the owner and a local photographer that just happened to be in the store. I ended up with a guitar that as I write this I am still more than stoked to now say that I own. I bought an Alvarez LJ2CE and she sounds amazing. I wish I had gotten the guys name that helped me pick her out. We talked about musicians and he even gave me a book recommendation on one of my favorite guitar players. It was just literally one of the coolest and best experiences I ve had in a long time. I m definitely recommending this shop to anyone looking to purchase a guitar.

Great shop on the downtown square. Definitely a must-visit store when strolling. The exposed original stone walls and historical wood floors really give this spot its charm. Great selection and the friendliest service. Everyone there is so knowledgeable and eager to assist customers. I love how they interact with our children. This kind of interaction is exactly the sort of thing that can spark a childs curiosity and inspire them to pick up an instrument. I know my son wants to return and his awe of the shop surely fueled his fire.

This is my first stop any time we come to the Worlds Greatest Town Square. Ken is an amazing gift to Georgetown mercantile. We have shopped all the music box stores like everyone does, but when we moved to Georgetown and found this gem with live shows and open mic nights (pre Covid-19) we fell in love with Ken z. We always are surprised at his ever changing selection. Ken is a brilliant supporter of all genres of musicians and bands. Honestly if it s not in stock no worries Ken can get it for you. Ken is the owner of this store and he is there. He is very knowledgeable about the musical instruments. We got ukuleles for our three granddaughters and one for their grand dad so he could teach them to play. They also do repairs on instruments. Small Town music store with local owner who understands that not all music is about how loud or how new or limited to just one genre.... its not your big box store with corporate dictates... thats a plus in my book....so it may not have everything as one review indicated...but Ive been to the big stores in Hollywood and Nashville that didnt have what I need...so that cant be a strike against a small store simply because of its size. I have contacted the store twice about getting information for guitar lessons. The information isnt listed on the website and they want you to contact them instead. The first time I contacted them was close to two months ago, through the email address listed on their website.
