We went Saturday am thinking we could avoid the crowd and busy time but we were wrong. They were busy and stayed busy which is good but they werent prepared. It took 30-45mins just to get an order of fries. We had to physically go up to bar to order it and order drinks as no one ever came to our bowling lane even when we hit the button. We had to go and find someone who worked there every time we had an issue with our lane. Still a good time to have fun with family as bowling is always fun. Really excited to see what they do with the place after all the construction craziness is over!

This was an amazing experience! We went on a Saturday and it wasnt super crowded. Laronda helped us check in for our game and loaded us up with Kids Fest goodies. Our server was Bryn and she was so quick and kind. The whole space is super clean and the food was tasty. We did some arcade games after and it wasnt super loud like it can be at arcade places. Cant wait to come back again!

I just cant get over the price. family of 4, $10 a person +$6 for shoes per game. The game took us about 30 minutes, so we spent about $65 for 30 minutes of bowling. If I wanted to play another game, it would have cost an additional $40. $105 for an hour feels outrageous for bowling! Definitely discourages larger families from going, which may be their goal. Main Event charges by the hour ($32) regardless of how many people bowl- will be going there next time.

Tournaments, leagues, reservations . Booked, booked and booked . Called yesterday and told us tournaments were over at 3 and plenty of bowling lanes would be available after 4. Told them we had a couple families . Today- tournaments are just wrapping up, and the are completely booked with leagues and reservations. Spent money preordering tickets that I didnt even have so my wife and daughter could bowl with friends. Be better-

Its been a minute since weve been there. Its had quite a renovation. And its awesome. New floors, new screens for lanes. The staff was attentive and the food has always been solid. Its actually one of my favorite places to go for a night out. Get the wings, and the pretzel bite things with the mustard. Trust me!! And wash them down with a large blue moon!! Great atmosphere.

Horrible. They have all these unlimited bowling and other specials, but every time I ve ever gone the house is so full of leagues you can t ever get in. They never answer the phone, so I can t call ahead and ask before coming. Front desk associates are not friendly and completely sarcastic when apologizing for the inability to help. Garbage.

From the front desk to the bar, the service is poor. Waited 15 in line while 3 workers sat behind the front desk, not even acknowledging the growing line. Bar service is amazingly slow even without a line. I used to really like coming to this establishment when owned and operated by Mels, but since Bowlero has taken over, it seems like the overall experience has declined steeply. Its a shame, especially after going through such a nice remodel. This place has great potential but currently lacks the customer service to deliver a positive and rememberable experience. :/

Thank you to Mels and the wonderful crew who hosted our team building event! My team had a wonderful time. From start to finish, everyone introduced themselves and made sure our group had everything we needed while we were there. We were lucky enough to have our event on the CJs side where it was very cozy and it felt a lot more private. The food was wonderful and I loved the setup of food and drinks on the back tables. Thank you to Madison and everyone else for their hospitality! We will definitely return in the future!

Overall great experience when I have gone. You really got to map out when you are gonna go to get the best deals. It is either like a 20 dollar experience or a 150 dollar experience. Balls are nice, and the lanes are always nice. Staff especially the wait staff and bar staff is lacking but assume this goes along with whats going on everywhere with trying to get employees but also not wanting to pay them anything.

I ve been going here since childhood, an amazing, clean venue with an unbeatable atmosphere. The only real drawback is the remodeled pricing structure. If another bowling alley comes to Georgetown with original time based structure, you guys might find yourself in the midst of heavy competition.

Had a super fun family afternoon of bowling at Mels. Theyre currently remodeling but the lanes worked great and the place was pretty neat despite some construction hardware lying around. Just to add, I did email my experience as requested, and never heard anything. Don t know what I was expecting, except don t ask for honest feedback if you re just going to ignore it maybe? Long story short, $350 for 6 people to bowl and have appetizers for 1.5 hours. Our game was cut off in the 8th frame even though we twice asked if we could pay for extra time and twice were told don t worry about it and that we would be allowed to finish.

Absolutely insane. We went 2 years ago before somebody else took over and it was great. We came this next time on a Friday at 6 pm and reserved a lane for 1.5 hours that came out to $169 (including shoe rental) for 4 of us which is a little steep but ya know that s the way of the world now. Ordered my son just a kids strawberry lemonade they gave him the specialty drink which is $6 a glass(even though they just refill it with lemonade) but will charge you $6 for that refill. We were having a good time noticed it wasn t packed so we decided to get another hour. My husband and dad had 5 beers total which was $20 nothing crazy. Then I get the final receipt and it says $200 including the extra hour food and drinks thought that was perfect considering I had already paid $169 to reserve the lanes. No they had me pay an EXTRA $200 so the final bill came out to $369!! I don t know about you but that is absolutely ridiculous for a Friday family night for 2.5 hours of bowling to almost be $400. Also nobody told us we would be charged $86 a hour for a holiday weekend price(the place was almost empty). Waitress was rude and condensing when we asked about the breakdown of price, and talked to my husband like he didn t know anything Will absolutely never be returning! Please don t bring your family here unless you want to be the ones paying to keep the lights on and the new remodel they are doing.

New company changed policies as far as making lane reservations. Must reserve a lane now for two hours with a minimum cost of $85.00. Too bad that they did this as I will no longer be a customer to a place that I once enjoyed going to at a reasonable price. So, I tried it one more time. Over $100.00 for one hour. Lane was reserved, had to wait 15 minutes to use it, but we were rushed out before our hour was completed. I will be going to Temple to bowl up there. About half the price and so much better as far as staff, cleanliness and the amount of things to do. So long Bowlero!! You have ruined what was a good place to go by raising your rates above what a normal family can afford!!

Terrible experience. I think this place is seriously being mismanaged. Arrived early on Sat evening so went to CJ s bar, found out there was no bartender and just someone they had pulled from another area who is not a bartender and confessed they were not a bar tender. The males in our party ordered beer from the tap so that was straightforward and upon hearing the females were struggling to walk the bar stand-in through making a mixed drink, and it didn t go so well. Our lane was ready by the bar but there were lanes next to us with kids and we couldn t hear a thing so requested a lane change. We got shoes and balls all fine and started bowling, our server came about 30 mins in and we ordered so appetizers and another round of drinks. Food came out within 15 minutes, about 45mins came out drinks. Back up in the bar to no surprise. We did two games and ordered another round and by the time we finished the third game our drinks still hadn t arrived. We told our server who only checked in on us 3 times the whole night that we would take our drinks in the bar. From no trained staff (bar and service) to ludicrous prices for bowling, food and drinks, oh and no wine except for out of a can?!?!..I would not go back or recommend anyone to bowl there until a change in management has taken place.

Was cut off without warning or any type of over intoxication information from the server or manager named Landry. I was there for 4 hours with a friend and spent $207.63 for bowling and only had 3 pitchers of coors light. No warning or offer of water was provided. So if we were over intoxicated then we were over served which is illegal. We never stumbled around, never were rough, nor did we cause a ruckus in the premises. They have absolutely terrible service and should be looked into by the health inspectors for their over serving of alcohol by their staff.

Good for leagues only. I just tried to go here on a Tuesday when they opened at noon. I called at 12:03 and 12:08 before leaving the house and the phone just rang and rang, no one answered. I then drove there (30 minutes away) and when I arrived at 12:37 I was told there are no lanes available. Tried to take my son here for his birthday. We got here when they opened hoping to get an early bird special or something. They want $50 for me and my 8 year old son to play two games! Great atmosphere, went in to have a beer and ended up getting a great special on a pizza + pitcher combo. I work graveyards so the morning is very difficult to find a place who serves beer. Pricing is outrageous! There are better options in surrounding areas where you actually pay per lane and shoe rental, not per person. Save your family $100 s of dollars! In the last three days, my family and I attempted to visit twice, but on both occasions, we were turned away because there were no open lanes. I initially understood the first time, assuming it was busy, but today only 2-3 lanes were in use, and the rest were closed. Completely gone downhill since the new owners have taken over and despite hanging on to a few staff that worked for the previous owners, it has lost that family feel and progressed to a more corporate environment with nobody taking ownership of the issues. Same lanes still broken (35 and 36) despite years of them knowing that they are broke. A lick of paint can not cover up the problems this place is facing. Wont return. Its too dark to see the lane markers. TV is distracting with screen reflection onto lane. LED strobe lights on pins is annoying, so you cant concentrate. Food was cold. Overall 3 games. I typically bowl 130 to 145. I did not even get above 100. Used to a 3 finger ball these had 4, I am guessing this also had me unusually low scoring. Price is $7.50 per game not by the hour. Bowlerama is just not like Mels was. Acquisition is not always a good thing.

Since the change in ownership, the level of service has gone way down. Many of the same people still work there, so its clear the company that took over is not providing enough support to the employees. There have been multiple times the snack bar is open, but I have left after waiting for 10 to 15 min with no one coming by. This past Friday at a highschool tournament, extra chairs were not allowed or pulled out for some reason and when a coach pulled a chair for a handicap gentleman, so he could sit, management became upset and chastised the coach for handing out the chair. These tournaments are 3 hours long.

Very helpful and friendly staff, both at the counter and the restaurant. The balls have two thumb holes, accommodating multiple thumb sizes, which helped me get a lighter ball. Im out of practice. The lanes have great options for how the game is displayed. We got the unlimited play option, and played for hours, and had a blast. We got the chicken Caesar salad, not expecting much, but were both very impressed by the presentation, taste, and service! I know, a salad isnt difficult, and a bowling alley isnt gourmet, but they put care into what they prepare.

Great place for a birthday party or another celebration. The chicken nuggets were to die for... so delicious!!! The bowling is good for all ages, the music was appropriate for everyone, and the staff was super friendly. The pizza was ok... there is better stuff on the menu. The bar was decent but not fantastic. Overall, a great celebration spot.

I have been disappointed with Mel s on the whole. To start with be aware that reservations made online are not refundable no matter how far in advance you try to cancel. The service is terrible. It takes way too long to get anything you order. We have been there to bowl several times as well as hosted a birthday party there. The party was ok at best. They weren t ready for us when we got there and didn t seem to know what was going on. Then when we did get going it would take 15+ minutes to get food that we had already pre-ordered. To top it off the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.

I really enjoy the atmosphere. I come here alot during the evening so we can bowl as many games as possible after 8 and 9 pm. Everyone that works here is real nice. We mostly interact with Landry & Ben. They have been more than accommodating. They are both really great. Of course we love the food, drinks and music as well. It always is a good time here. Oh yeah. I love the fact they have the point system on the receipts. I take advantage of that every time. If I love bowling, why not get the $5-$15 off everytime?

Bowlero takeover several months ago has been a disaster for league bowlers. They immediately raised their prices and cutback on staff so it takes forever to get lane issues fixed. They stopped taking credit cards for league payments even though we can charge food and drinks. Most recently we were told to bring a clear water bottle only to cancel that and now no water bottle at all because supposedly people are bringing in alcohol day and night.

Update...somehow the hits just keep coming at Bowlero so moved down from 2 stars to 1. I hoped the issues last year were due to transition, but...alas I was wrong. Before I get into the negative, I will state there are SOME wonderful employees there that will make the experience better, so if you get one of those gems then you will probably give a better review. You will know them by the smile and willingness to engage and help. The other employees...well are the exact opposite. I can also vouch for the attitude and eye rolls other reviews mentioned. Training on customer service isnt a priority or isnt enforcement by management. Since the last post: Still issues with drinks, selection is lacking and it seems to be a new trend to serve beer in a warm glass. Also, you can order a bottle beer OR a tall draft...nothing in between. Food, hit and miss but I stopped trying anything new because its all subpar. Better to just eat first or after. Prices going up for everything especially bowling. Agree with other comments, the hours for specials arent that special. The staff can and will close your tab without your knowledge because they are ready to go home 2 hrs before closing time. The latest issue, I cannot pay for a league using a credit card, only cash or check. I can use a credit card for literally everything else in the building, but not a lump sum payment for a league commitment that will bring return revenue each week I bowl and drink. Does this make sense? Posted about a year ago....This place was fun, had good beer options, friendly faces, fun atmosphere, (was) cleaner, and food pretty on point. Now, with new ownership, it seems like the focus is to lose customers on purpose. Wont fix machines, lost key management that were awesome, dont order food or drink properly(frequently out of menu options), understaffed, shouldnt we have music when bowling? (lack of atmosphere), when food is available it takes too long and is over cooked... I dont get the business strategy at a bowling alley when the bowlers and locals dont enjoy coming anymore.

Great lemon pepper wings, soft pretzels with queso and cold draft beer. Everything looks clean. Pool is fun but make sure you know the hourly rate ahead of time because it can get expensive really fast. Service was great and the Astros game was already on the first time we went but wasn t the second. It took more than 30 minutes before I could find employee to know how to change the channel and the service was really poor. I gave it 4 stars hoping my 2nd visit was just a bad night for them.

We went there over the weekend, I asked for a fork 3 times before anyone gave me one. On top of that I paid 76 dollars to have me and my husband play three games together thats $6 dollars per person per game then its another $6 to get shoes the food itself was pretty good and fresh but I was charged 40 dollars for food I was there with my husband and one of the staff came over and flirted with me while my husband was in the restroom then wouldnt even talk to us after he got back. Not worth coming here again.

Such a fun place to have some. However, bowling for four is not cheap anymore. The price for 4 adults with a military discount for 2 games came out to 86 dollars (but again we had a great time). Good luck to families though so pricey. The staff is great, they offer a full menu and a bar menu. Lockers are available as well as a arcade are for those who like to play games. The restrooms are clean so that was nice also.

Its a fun place to bowl. Good food but the service is terrible. I went a few months ago. We had to wait 30 minutes for a lane, so we ordered some fries. We ended up bowling a game and still didnt get our fries despite me asking twice for them. We bowled another game and STILL hadnt gotten our fries. At this point I just asked for a refund. Today I went during the day when there was hardly anyone there and I waited 10 minutes standing at the bar trying to order food and despite being seen twice by staff, I was never acknowledged. So I gave up on ordering food.

Unfortunately, our party was positioned on the last lane in front of the side bar entrance. The employees that walked back and forth a thousand times (when only 2 lanes were bowling in that area?) continually huffed and puffed about the fact that we were there and griped out loud to each other as they passed several times. It was sad to hear. We didnt have a choice on the lane our bday party was given and the employee attitude seemed a big departure from our many previous visits to Mels over the years. It definitely left me feeling that the culture has changed.
