I m very disappointed to have to write this review. I really enjoyed working with Chelle for our photo session but she kept making excuses for why our photos weren t posted and we still haven t seen our wedding renewal photos. Is so disappointing to have no photos of the ceremony. We asked guest not to take pictures since she was. Our ceremony was October 16 and she was responsive until December 10th and now nothing. I d like to at least see whatever shots she captured even if they re not fantastic. I m so bummed.

Unresponsive and did not fulfill paid contract! I was so excited to book my maternity, fresh 48, and newborn sessions with Chelle in 2019. She was delightful and captured some amazing images for us. However my baby is 18 months old, and we are still waiting for the newborn photo album that was included in our package. We finalized album details when she visited our home in August 2019 and still haven t received the album or an update from her as of December 2020. We ve reached out repeatedly with little or no response, yet she s clearly still in business. The lack of responsiveness and failure to adhere to the contract we signed and paid for is highly disappointing. We would definitely not recommend this photographer!

Update: Upon writing this review and emailing her again about the status of my refund, she issued the refund and responded promptly. I m glad she made things right. However, this unnecessary added stress was completely due to her lack of professionalism and responsiveness. I hope you have a better experience. Original review below: I purchased a newborn package from Chelle in May 2020. This would ve been my second time working with her (we did a Santa mini with her). Unfortunately, when I reached out in September in regards to scheduling my late November newborn session, she did not respond. After 3 attempts and reading a few other reviews of people who had similar experiences, I reached out to her through PayPal. She responded via email apologizing and using the it went to my junk mail excuse. However, I had reached out to her through her own website s contact page in one of those attempts. She attempted to reconcile, but agreed to issue a refund. Well, 1 month later, no refund, no response. I m more than disappointed. She takes beautiful photos, but she clearly picks and chooses between which clients to honor. I would never recommend her again. I m sad to see that money go to waste with a new baby on the way.

Unfortunately after putting a deposit down and several attempts to reschedule a photo session due to my child being sick, I received zero response via social and email, and ultimately lost my deposit. Social media posts were put up by her consistently so I am not sure why she did not have the time to respond.So sad because I have seen great work from her. Very unprofessional when it comes to communication so beware.

We Love Ms. Chelle!!! Not only does she do beautiful work, but she is so kind and patient and deals so well with my crazy kids! She goes with the flow and always seems to capture the perfect photos!

Chelle is an amazing photographer! This is my second time to work with her and can t wait to do it again! I have 3 kids, so it can be a challenge to say the least to get them to cooperate. But, some how she captures are family perfectly!

Chelle is absolutely AMAZING! She has an incredible ability to capture the best moments of my family. I know I will treasure her photographs forever. I am so grateful that she has been with us since the beginning and has provided me with the best photos of my son since his birth! I cannot say enough about her talent and she is a wonderful person as well!

If you have children and they need to be photographed take them to Chelle!!! She as photographed both my children since they were born and I have always been blown away by the pictures. She has the talent to capture your child perfectly!!! Thank you so much Chelle!

We had Chelle take our third childs newborn photos and she did an amazing job. The pictures turned out incredible. We had some issues getting scheduled and a couple delays getting the pictures but they were worth the wait.

Chelle volunteered to do a milk bath session for my baby. We agreed on everything and had a date set. I ran out the night before to get materials for a crown, flowers, milk and powdered milk. The next morning she canceled on me because her husband had made plans for that night. I waited a month to hear back from her. I reached out and asked if she was still interested. She replied and said yes, this week. I said great, I m available. She never replied. Another month passed so I reached out again to find out if she was going to be able to shoot my daughter or if I needed to make other plans. Again she has not replied. I was really looking forward to working with Chelle for a milk bath session, but she was completely unprofessional.

Chelle is AMAZING!!! She is by far one of the most talented family photographers in DFW. She has incredible ideas, always goes the extra mile to make every session so very special. If this says anything, we drive all the way from East Texas for her sessions! Highly recommend!

Chelle has been our family photographer for 6 plus years now & clearly there is a reason we keep going back. Her kid and family centered creativity never ceases to produce a relaxed, fun setting for them to enjoy where she always captures images of our three boys being themselves as well as that coveted family portrait of all of us. She has a heart of gold, the patience of a saint and undeniable talent. Our boys ask for Ms. Chelle and truly look forward to picture days throughout the year because whether it s indoor at her studio or outside romping around they know fun will ensue and be documented on our walls for years to come. Thanks for all the hours you put in Chelle, you are a family treasure!

I absolutely love Chelle! She takes the most amazing photos of my family/kiddos. I am always blown away when I get the images back because I love all of them so much!! She s incredibly patient with my kiddos and is always prepared to reward them if they do a good job taking photos. She s also very creative. For both of my kiddos first birthday photos, I just told her the theme of their parties and she ran with it. She s truly talented and I highly recommend!

As a photographer myself I was looking for a great photographer to capture my family images while we were visiting family in Texas. We chose Chelle after seeing her gorgeous barn photos - we were not disappointed. She was very patient with my son and put us all at ease. In our images we have relaxed happy expressions and the light is perfection. We are in love with our family photos!! I am sorry we don t live closer - but we will be back again next time we visit family. Thank you again Chelle for a wonderful experience!!

I Love Ms. Chelle. She has taken all my sons photos since he was born and even before he was born with Maternity photos. She has such a beautiful eye and her creativity is amazing. We have been with her for 7 years and I love everything she does. She is like family for us. My son loves her so much and he will do things for her I can never get him to pose for. My favorite sessions every year are Joy for the holidays and we always do spring Easter sessions. My family loves Chelle Cates Photography. We are customers for life.
