This was the spot to be for dinner tonight! Veggie enchiladas hit the spot. They had sautéed mixed vegetables topped with cream avocado sauce. It was served with rice and beans. When I got it, I mixed the rice and beans together, and it was phenomenal! I was the only person at the table that got a veggie meal. There was also Menudo, tortilla soup, Cheese enchiladas, and brisket tacos. Just to be honest, the strawberry margarita with sugar on the rim is phenomenal! It was one of those days where I just needed a margarita to go with my dinner :-)

The food was not great . I was excited to try this place because we re still new to the area . The Mexican martini was basically a margarita with no ice. The food was bland needed salt . The service was not at all good. We felt like the server forgot about us . The music was good . The people who like it seem to love it but it did disappoint.

My first time in last night. Very nice atmosphere & clean. Great service & the bartender was nice & very polite. The mix drinks are very good, tasty, & strong just the way I like it! The price on the food is decent & youre also getting for what its worth for. I would have to say if you want a good burger, Johnnys Bar & Grill makes the best, biggest, & juiciest burgers in town. The people that comes in greets you & are very nice & polite. I highly recommend for business people & couples if you want a nice & romantic date.

The food was phenomenal. I had the beef fajita chimichanga, queso fresco enchilada, avocado enchilada, a side of beef fajita meat(*), rice, beans and the queso blanco with ground beef and pico de gallo added. Complementary Chips and salsa was brought out after my drink order was placed. For salsa they provide both a salsa roja and a salsa verde, both of which were very flavorful and paired well with all of the entrees I tried. *The beef fajita meat was the star of the show btw. It was so tender, juicy and delicious. I would highly recommend incorporating some of the beef fajita meat with any meal that doesn t already include it To drink I had the frozen strawberry mango margarita mixed with chamoy and a Tajin rim. It was so good I ended up having three of them. My server was attentive and took great care of me throughout the course of my time there. The only thing that I would have different,if possible, is the availability of a spicer and chunkier salsa alongside the already perfected red and green salsas that they currently carry.

We were looking for a place close to home to have dinner and I found this place that has a good rating, but it really disappointed us. I ordered a grill trio, I wanted more shrimp and beef, and I only got 5 shrimp and 4 small pieces of beef and they were FRIED, they were not cooked on the grill and a lot of onions If the menu says grilled it is because it should be cooked as such, not frying a steak, which is why I do it at home.

Always looking for a New Mexican restaurant to try. Today it was Johnny s. Chips, queso, and salsa were all really really good. Service was a bit slow, and the food was warm at best when received. Taco shells where stale, lettuce was sour, I hope I dont get food poison. The food and service was phenomenal!! The guacamole was so good. Could definitely tell its freshly made. My wife and I both got chimichanga she got chicken fajita and my mother-in-law and I both got ground beef chimichanga. They were so flavorful and fried to a perfect crisp. My mom and I (African American women) walked in to this restaurant for some good food but after being seated we were left alone for 20 minutes, it was busy so we were patient at first. When my mom finally got up to ask if someone could help us we finally got water. Then two white men walked in and got many drinks, chips and salsa before we even got our order taken then our waiter told us out that our chips and salsa would be right out, which never happened. After seeing the white men get their food while we still hadn t even gotten an appetizer we left. 0/10 I cant believe we were treated this way, when all we wanted was some authentic Mexican food on Mother s Day.

My wife and I ate here Tuesday evening for the first time. I really liked their salsa and chips! But that was the highlight of our meal. We started off with a guacamole appetizer and when it arrived it looked very pleasing. But the taste was very salty. It took our waitress about 10 minutes to come back to our, and that was only to deliver our main meals. We told her about the problem with the guacamole and she said she would taste it in the kitchen. Again about 10 minutes later she returned and told us that we were right and thanks for letting them know. I had a taco plate and it looked great, but the taste was bland. Although I did enjoy the rice and beans. My wife had the brisket mole plate and we thought that it had a strong taste. She told me that different regions in Mexico fix it differently. We waited another 10 minutes for our check and we figured that the price of the guacamole wouldve been adjusted but it wasnt. Our total bill was around$39. So the service was slow, but that was because she was the only waitress and also the bartender. And the food was just average. We probably wont return to this establishment. I was a bit surprised, when I walked in I was the only one there to eat. Nice Mexican restaurant, had spanish music playing in the background and a few tvs on no sound. Mary the waitress took me to a table and brought me my tea and water. While l was reading over the menu, she also brought chips and salsa and this Great Great Jalapeño Salsa . I never had it before my next visit l am have that on everything. Lunch today was Fajita Tacos with rice and beans. The Tacos was very good and portioned great. Rice was very fluffy and the black beans were also very delicious. Gonna need to add JHonnys to my list of places to eat on this side of Garland.

Where is a 6th Star when you need one! Seriously one of my favorite restaurants! EVERY time we come the food is amazing no matter the time of day or the day of the week! Its cooked fresh, served hot, and so flavorful you do a little dance with every bite! My favorite is the salmon with mushrooms & vegetables. Normally I dont like paying for salmon at restaurants because its often over priced, but this baby is worth every penny! The veggies are cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The salmon is cooked to a nice flaky finish and the sauce they serve with it is unlike anything Ive ever had. I could eat the veggies & that sauce ONLY and still feel like I got my moneys worth.

Not sure if I came on the worst day. The reviews and pictures are very opposite from my expirience. It was during a week day, the restaurant was empty and it had a bad musky/moldy odor. I ordered Chilaquiles with only cheese and onions. The gentleman there was very helpful and nice whom took my order. When the food arrived, it looked delicious. The Chilaquiles tortilla part was so old and staled, the green sauce on it was not good either and they put a lot of eggs in them which i made it clear no egg. This plate came with beans and country potatoes, the beans were actually good. I instantly regretted coming in and having to pay for this, sorry I didnt have a good expirience here.

This is some of the freshest, tastiest Mexican food Ive had in a long time. Im so used to having peas or green beans in the rice so I was pleasantly surprised when the rice here tasted amazing on its own. No peas necessary. The beans were fantastic and the avocado enchiladas are something I will order again! Also, seriously, get the queso. So good.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant. This will now be our Go To spot for Tex Mex. Every detail of the food tasted on-point and freshly made with care. Seriously, the subtle attention to detail impressed us despite our being jaded, picky Millenials. Great margaritas too, very fair pricing, and friendly staff. What are you waiting for??

Tried Jhonnys today cuz I wanted some mole. They started me w homemade chips and homemade salsas. Chips were awesome and so was the salsa crema verde. Red salsa very good. Excellent mango magarita. Mole was very good too. Service was courteous. Very reasonable prices for very good quality food. Recommended!

A nice little family restaurant in Garland. They have some lighter Mexican food and do a lot of their beans with black beans. They also have several vegetarian dishes for those that do not eat meat. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs while we were there eating.

I visited this place the first time on my lunch break. I ordered a brisket taco and it was good. So I stopped after work to get a taco for my husband because he likes brisket. The corn tortilla for the first taco was the yellow corn cooked perfectly and a fair amount of brisket meat. The brisket taco i picked up after work was not the same. It was a white corn tortilla never cooked hard dry. I will never return there or recommend anyone. It place was very empty no customers and I see why and each taco $2.99. Texas food is expensive and lots of eating places and businesses is not that good.

Strong drinks, good happy hour menu, and the food was delicious. My mouth was salivating the moment I walked in and smelled the food in the air. Came for Cinco de Mayo and the Dj was off the HOOK! Im glad I came across this establishment via Google Maps. Dfw is full of Mexican and Tex Mex restaurants however this is a gem and close to home. I had the fajita chimichanga, my spouse the trio fajita. Premium Magaritas was delicious. We will definitely be back.
