Been coming here FOREVER. I love the food quality here and my whole family from Mexico loves the food because it s more authentic than other Mexican/Tex-Mex food places. Yes the service does take a while would not recommend if your in a rush but it s quality food and I think family owned which is why there s not much staff, they get stressed when it s super busy keep that in mind and they make quality food, some things are from scratch which is why it takes so long as well. I would recommend looking at the menu before you go in and have that order ready to go once you re seated.

They are very cool to open on a Sunday at 11:30am and it is 11:45am and nothing and they dont answer the phone or anything and it is still a genius every time you ask them something when you are inside it is almost impossible to get in because they have the luxury of not wanting to open early, they better try to do something else

the food is good, but it doesn t make up for the wait and the terrible customer service. the lady at the front who takes the orders and handles the money is very rude and seems irritable all the time. they charge you to use the credit card, but they seem to never have change. i paid in cash today and the lady said that they didn t have change and kept almost a full dollar in change. when i brought up that that didn t seem right to keep almost a whole dollar from the customer, she replied that they weren t a bank to be having change on hand, which was very rude. this is also the second time that they forget something from my order. the wait time is very long, even when they don t have people. the food usually takes about 30+ mins to come out. overall, the food is good but it doesn t outshine the wait and the bad customer service. we ve been coming here for years but will not be coming back. sad to see the downfall of this restaurant.

Today I went to Carmens for my lunch break and at the door they have the time that they open at 11:30 and I got there at 12:00 and it was closed. At that point I was leaving and I had already gotten into my truck when I see a woman leaving Carmens and I see her sweeping outside and then I get out and ask her if it is open and she tells me it is not closed and I asked her what time they open because there on the sign it says that they open at 11:30 and I He said we open when we finish cleaning so I told him that is like that every day because since that sign says they open at 11:30 so what time do they open and he tells me again we open until we finish cleaning and well I told him OK but I came here for my lunch hour and well, they dont have an opening time, thinking that you open at 11:30 like that sign says, and I told the lady, well, I wont be able to come if you dont have an opening time. open and the lady answered me well dont come it seemed very disrespectful on her part and very unprofessional because why do they have there since they open at 11:30 when they open at whatever time they want they dont think about The people who work and who only have an hour for lunch and we go to their restaurant trusting that it will be open should better put up a sign that says they do not open in the mornings and thus one will no longer go to that place in the mornings. And as that lady said, dont come back, well, no, Im not going to come back because to be treated like this, its better to take your money to a place where they will receive it well and where they comply with the schedule they have and not bring us surprises.

Last time I came here was probably 10 yrs ago. I used to love coming for their sopes. My husband and I came after church on a Sunday. It was pretty quiet for a weekend. When we walked in we were told to check out their menu right at the entrance (they dont had you one at the table) we took a picture of it and sat. I ordered the enchiladas Huastecas and OMG they are so good! My husband ordered some tacos, they look more like quesadillas in my opinion but they are still good. We will definitely keep coming back. I loved those enchiladas!

Interesting that the Garland cafe on the other end of the strip center is crowded and Im the only customer here. That should have been a big warning. Told to look at the menu taped to the front counter and when Ive made a selection, go find a seat. No help, no suggestions, just a menu in spanish. Google translate helped some. With prices about 50 percent higher than the full service mexican restaurant a block away, I left after waiting several minutes for help. Guess there is a reason no one else was there at 1pm.

Best gorditas ever! I tried the papas con chorizo and deshebrada and they were yummy my mom had nopalitos and picadillo and she said they were good too... I was expecting to receive my gorditas with some lettuce and tomatoes on the side (like a small salad) but the taste of all of them was really good that i didnt care about that... Pros: chips and salsa are fresh, flavorful, and clear your sinus spicy (my favorite). I ordered the taquitos de brisket and they were served hot with salad, savory rice and beans plus crema. This is not tex mex, sauces are smooth and delicious. Serving sizes are enough to share, but we were happy to box up our leftovers. We will be back.
