I literally believe that every review on this restaurant is fake! The food was tasteless. The baked potatoes had cold shredded cheese and imitation bacon bits on it. I asked the gentleman to warm it up not knowing the huge pile of sour cream was under the cold shredded cheese and imitation bacon bits. The sour cream curdled from being warmed up in the micro wave! The mac and cheese had no flavor and was more like a soup. The hotlinks are just regular smoked sausages and they were not even HOT!! WTW! Im still in shock that this place has a 4.2 rating!! Come on!!

I stopped by because I ve seen this place a couple times the macaroni and cheese was all watery and then the customer service was awful. I kept asking her questions she just kept looking at me like if I was talking a different language. My experience here was very poor.

Second time coming here. First time was great, I was offered help since I was carrying my baby with me. Visited on 8/5/24 around lunch time. Again I was carrying my baby, I ordered a baked potato. The lady told me to grab a tray, I walked to the paying station with my tray with the baked potato on it. She asked if I wanted anything else, I asked for a soda, she gives me the soda, and I put it on the tray. I m struggling to pay since I have my baby in my arms and she sees that. I pay and she is just staring at me while I m having trouble carry everything to my table. I go leave me diaper bag in the table and return to grab my tray with one hand, that s when she asked me if I needed help. I should haven t been struggling with one hand to carry everything. Paying about $17 for a loaded potato and soft drink and being treated this way. There was no excuse for her, it was not busy, there was no one behind me. This simple act would of taken less then 1 minute. I m not asking for help with a high chair just simply with my food. I m pretty sure the owner was sitting right in front the tables near cashier and saw me struggle and nothing. But greeting all other guests expect me. Very disappointed and not visiting anymore.

I was in the area Saturday so I stopped in at Ricks smokehouse for a late lunch glad I did the Saturday special is beef ribs plate so I had to have that . Comes with 3 beef ribs and 2 sides bread and drink. I had the cole slaw and baked beans for my sides which were good the beef ribs were very tender and meaty great flavor . Fast service really good food and great value $$

This is the best BBQ bar none and has a wide variety of side dishes. So many it was hard to choose only 2. So each time I try 2 different types and they are all good with nice size portions for the price. But best of all is the fried okra or the peach cobbler . I will most certainly be back again soon! Vegetarian options: There is a wide variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from. Parking: Flat surface with ample parking. Wheelchair accessibility: All on flat surface with wide doorways & isles. Friendly staff too.

Small Mom and Pop shop but let me tell you its the best bbq Ive had in a long time the sandwich had so much meat on it it was incredible it was juicy the bbq sauce was really good it wasnt overly spicy or seasoned too much the coleslaw was great it wasnt too sweet or sour the portion was bigger than avarage. The sweet tea was perfect. This is a hidden gem in an industrial area blink and youll miss it. I will be back for all my bbq cravings!!

I ordered from this place on uber eats. I literally tried it because of the reviews. I dont know what those people tried, but my food is gross. The brisket tastes like its boiled no flavor at all. The ribs actually taste ok and grilled. The pork sausage has to be old and just sitting out all day, gross. The sides are terrible also. The beans taste like they burned them and just scooped them out the bottom of the pot. I dont know who made the potatoes salad but you need a new supplier. The texas toast was only toasted on one side. Im ashamed to call this TX bbq as a true Texan. Huge huge fail. This place is gross point blank period.

Saw Ricks on Uber eats and decided to give them a try. They did NOT. Disappoint. I got the beef rib weekend special and when I say its more than enough food for two meals. The ribs are so tender I broke them off the bone with a plastic fork. The seasoning is immaculate. The baked beans and potato salad are also good. Will definitely be back

I decided to try this place because they offered beef ribs. The ribs taste like they had been boiled not grilled or smoked. I got the lunch special with two sides, I opted for mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes; the mac and cheese was watery and void of flavor and the potatoes were hard and had no flavor as well. Upon entering you get a family oriented atmosphere which is great for bar b que foods. It was enjoyable, quite, and filled with chuckles or small laughter. The menu is pretty easy to read and comprehend and they also have a great selection of sides, sandwiches and or plates as well as catering. I ordered the brisket sandwich on texas toast with a sausage link added to it. I explained it was my first time at this fine establishment and I was eagerly helped. I asked for a marbled/moist brisket with jalapeño and cheese sausage. The food was good and tasty. I did receive what I asked for but I feel as if the brisket was over heated just a bit. I didnt quite get that marbled texture of brisket where its a bit stretchy and glistening, instead I received a almost dry but kinda moist brisket. I dont want to say roast beef because it was not quite there at the level but looking at the brisket you can tell it was headed there. The sausage was delicious but it was obvious it was under the heat lamp a little bit too long. The outside of the sausage was dry but the internal sausage was good. I still ate all of it because the food was still delicious. . I also got Mac n cheese which was great! I also hot the okra! Now the okra was fried perfectly and even before finishing my meal they stayed perfectly fried. Not like other places where they get rock hard or soggy and wet. This establishment had a complimentary bar which included pickled jalapeños, raw onion, pickles and other items. I received about 6ozs of barb que sauce in a small cup which was more then plenty which is a plus! I was able to dunk my sandwich in it and enjoy every bite with N adequate amount of sauce.. over all I would give this place a 6.5-7 out of 10. It has great potential. I will be returning!! Ok, upon returning for the 2nd time, (11/8/22) the brisket was the same texture, same with the sausage. This time I got my gf opinion and she said the same thing. Dry on the outside and ok in the middle, as far as the brisket, I asked for marbled/moist meat on my baked potato and again received an almost marbled but dry brisket.. baked potato was a good size and good portions of condiments added to it. Wheelchair accessibility: I did see wheelchair accessible parking here. I saw one spot. Im unsure if there was another. The seating inside this place has plenty of room for a wheelchair to be at a table and even enough room for people to manavaur around it.

This place is ok. The meat was not that smoked. They had decent Que. What I didnt like is the sign that says special. Let me explain which one and why the low rating. The signs says pick Any meat for your sandwich with 1 side and a drink! So I asked for a rib sandwich for my special. The guys says ribs does not come with the special?? The signs says any meat. You should change your sign to say any meat but rib. I will follow up and see if they have the same sign up. I will also try a link or brisket sandwich.

We have been going to Ricks BBQ for over 15 years. Its better quality and taste than. SOULMANS, BAKERS OR DICKIES. Wednesdays is BBQ Chicken night my wifes favourite I always get what I call the Big Tex Sandwich. Beef, Sausage and ham with cheese, fries and slaw. Get there before 6pm otherwise they are closed. The friendliest people work hard everyday to ensure the best.

What was once fairly good has dropped to mediocre. Almost no smoke ring on the brisket, had to look really close to find a little bit of one. As others have mentioned the meat was very dry, even dousing it in barbecue sauce did not help. The meat seemed like it had been out for several days and dried out. The green beans also seemed like theyve been on the steam table for several days, were mushy and had lost most of their color. The serving sizes are large, the prices modest, but these cannot offset the poor quality that they are serving today. I can see why so many people have complained about how dry the meat is. With all the barbecue places around, there really is no need to try this one.

This was my 2nd time giving them a shot and the same result as the 1st...I wont be back. When in Texas BBQ is much better than other places...but NOT this stop. I learned the hard way!!

Good place for a quick lunch. The smoked sausage and hot links are good. The brisket is alright. Baked potatoes are HUGE! The building is old and run down. The parking spaces are very close together.

Staff : Friendly especially the girl at the counter Food : Everything was very dry. The brisket I had was the driest brisket I had in my life and its a shame that I had this bad brisket here in TX. Atmosphere : could use more cleaning. Table was sticky and floor was dirty

Best whole bbqd turkey leg since the State Fair of Texas experience! But only offered on Thursday. Eatable potato salad. Generous portions. Closes early around 5 pm. Rough neighborhood surrounding. Friendly staff and customers. Friday/Saturday special is beef ribs.

food was horrible! Banana pudding tasted like it was from instant pudding box, baked beans were spicy tasting and undesireable, completely flavorless brisket that was cold, turkey was stale like it was reused, links were decent but we didnt get but 5 little slivers! Angry that we wasted about $80 and will NEVER eat from here again.
