Im extremely picky when it comes to Bar-B-Q so when I spotted this little spot on the side of the rode well I made it a point to check it out eventually well I was not disappointed best brisket Ive had since I left Corpus Christi and the Pulled pork was excellent. Get there early because they sell out fast . Cant wait to go by again.

Meshacks is a throwback to delicious, smoked, and moist BBQ. The family owned and operated business makes you feel like part of their family. Mr. Travis and the family have served over 500 meals to my employees and we have enjoyed every lip-smacking bite. My favorite is their ribs....but its ALL GREAT.

Piles of smokey tender beef and pulled pork, make it worth the long wait. I would give it 5 stars if there were more places outside to sit while we wait. We had to stay in our car...(45 minutes). Also i love the potato salad! The price is great for the amount of food you get. $10 combo meat and two sides. Enough for my husband and i to share and have leftovers. They used to be cash only years ago, now they take cards. The sign says open at 1030, closed when they run out- good business practice, they dont throw away food @ the end of the day.

It s hard to find a bbq spot with good sides also. This place has it all. The potato salad is AMAZING! literally the best. The beans are also good. My only suggestion is to serve onions and pickles also. You really don t need it because the food is so good, but I m just use to eating onions with my bbq. This place is bomb!

I went to pick up lunch and was not disappointed! Its a walk up window so dont expect to eat there unless you sit in your car LOL. The smoke flavor was perfect. The portions were more than ample and shareable for sure. DaJasper fed us for 2 days. The links and chopped beef were delicious.

If you go there just go for the meat only, the meat was great, The sides on the other hand were disgusting! The potato salad is just overcooked mashed potatoes with tons of sugar, mayonnaise, a teaspoon of sweet relish (we tried to add mustard to balance out the sweetness but it did nothing!), and the baked beans are just straight out the canned beans with chopped beef on top, no season nor barbecue sauce added. Like I said if youre going to go there just get the meats

So my family has this group text and my brother posted a picture of some East Texas hot links, and from them on I went searching. That first week I was talking to myself- Do I need those like? Or dont I? Well I search even harder craving got stronger. So ask Google where I can find some links. I even asked people when I went for a walk if they were born and raised in Texas to know about these East Texas hot links. I kept calling numbers from Google and nobody was in the area that was close to Garland Texas. I even posted on Facebook who would know about these links. Some people told me to go way out and boondocks 1 hour away, I am not about to do that. I know its an old school thing but I was wanting them. And then something told me try that guy , that guy that always had firewood on the side of their building. I grew up in Garland, born and raised in Garland Texas 41yrs. If anybody knew I was going to try Meshacks barbecue. So I waited till he was open, and behold, he doesnt have these links on his menu often but when I asked if you made them or where can I find them he said he did. My search was over and when I received those links before I even got in the car I had to try one. And man oh man they were the bomb . I found the place that makes them and now I know for sure Im going to this place from now on. It brought back so many memories. And what I really like about him it has a smoky taste . Because he has a smokehouse. I made it look all fancy and pretty. 25$ for 2 dozen, I got 4 dozen because my sister wanted some. . However as long as I lived in Garland I think this is my maybe third time going to him. I dont know why it took me so long . I will try the his other items also. And I will tell you about it later. But for now I think Im going to order more East Texas links again. Thanks Mr Barbeque man.

I can NOT believe I waited this many years to try Meshacks! I got a pound of mixed meats (hot links and sliced beef) - both super yummy! I will be coming back here for sure. Many of the reviews said to expect crazy long wait times so I dont know if I just got lucky but waited only about 15 mins. I got there a little before noon on a Thursday so maybe that is a good time to go! Does anyone know if the hot links are made by the restaurant or locally made? Oh, and the lady working the window was super sweet and made me feel real welcome. In fact the whole vibe of the people waiting was great!

Delicious! We tried everything-brisket, pulled pork, sausage, jerk chicken and a number of sides. Everything was fabulous. Then had chess pie and chocolate rum cake. We highly recommend both! This is local family owned and super friendly. We have tried a lot of bbq and this is a great find.

This is BBQ in its true form. I got Da Jasper which is a massive double chopped beef and links sandwich. Just enough smoke. The chopped beef was super tender. Links had a great snap. Potato salad is unique. Its a sweet, almost mashed cousin to German potato salad. Portions are huge. People are super friendly and make you feel at home.

Meshack in the Bible went into the fiery furnace. This namesake must be channeling all the BBQ skills of the original. They open at 10:30 a.m. and stay until they sell out, normally by 1:30 or 2. But if you want the goods, call orders ahead or plan time to wait in line. Worth the wait! I LOVE the sliced brisket and the ribs!!!

Daddy and mama been going here since high school.. Me and my daddy came up here the other day.. hes retired and Im stay at home mom for now.. Anyways Get the the Sliced Beef Dinner comes with Mrs. Meshacks famous potato salad and beans and bread just for .14 cents extra! Get there early because once they are out, they are out, so you know its fresh! Smoked by Hickory or Mesquite wood I think.. There will be a line so just be patient, because tasty is bout to slap you right in the mouth! When my 3 boys are out for a check up or anything I be taking them too! You really get what you pay for, also the roll ups are perfect for kids and not expensive.. its smoked sausage in some bread!!! Hope you love it as much as we do!!!

Go early! We arrived at about 11:30 and they were out of everything but pulled pork and hot links. That was just fine by me as I love the pulled pork. This is simple, delicious BBQ. Sandwiches are served on white bread that soaks up all of the deliciousness from the meat. The BBQ is just as good as the expensive places all over town without all the bells and whistles. Plan to take your food to-go. There are no tables, just a couple of benches for waiting customers. Speaking of waiting customers, plan to wait. Depending on how busy they are, an order can take 20 minutes or more but its worth it and part of the Meshacks experience. Great people - Great BBQ!

03/13/21: The bbq is better the day after. Still not the best. 03/12/21: On my day off today, I decided to finally try out Meshack s Bar-B-Que. I arrived around 10:45 am and the line was about 8-10 people deep with about 5-6 people waiting for their food that they ordered. While I was waiting in line, I decided what to get from their menu. After reading online reviews and being my first time trying Meshack s, I decided to have a variety. The woman at the window was nice and she took my order. My turn to order was around 11:10 am. I missed the pulled pork on the menu and didn t want to try the potato salad (per online reviews and preference), so I ordered 2 sides of baked beans, 1 lb of sliced beef (brisket), 1 lb of links (sliced sausage), and 1 1/2 lbs ribs (pork ribs). My total was $60.50. This total is the menu price with tax. You will be asked your name when you order and your name will be called out when your food is ready. You can order orders, which I believe are plates of your choice of meat and sides. There are only two sides: baked beans and potato salad. They also have sandwiches as well. I didn t ask what Da Jasper order or roll ups were. Everything else is self-explanatory. After I ordered and paid for my food, I just waited like everyone else. They have a bench in front and there are a few stumps to sit on. That s about it. I stood waiting the whole time. I let the older people sit down. It was a mild day, but it did sprinkle a bit. Luckily, I had an umbrella in the car. I don t think I would come during the summertime, because I would not want to wait in the heat. No thank you. So, I waited and waited. No one in front or behind me complained one bit about waiting for their food. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes to get my order. I left at 12:30 pm. The meat is pecan smoked and today it was really heavily smoked. I liked the brisket a lot. The smoke ring was there and delicious. The bark was nice and the meat was moist. My brisket was right in the middle of lean and fatty, which is perfect for me. The sausage had a nice spicy kick to it. The snap wasn t too snappy. It was more of a slight bite/snap. The flavor was good, but the sausage wasn t as moist/juicy as I would want it to be. The pork ribs were tender, but a little bit drier than I would like them to be. My significant other thought all three meats were overly smoked. I could see what he meant. All the meats had a lot of smoky flavor and that flavor lingered in your mouth after you had a few bites. The two sides of baked beans were really generous compared to most barbecue joints. A side was about 16 oz. In my opinion, the baked beans were nothing special. At home, I added some brisket and sausage to my beans to added some oomph to them. One more thing, with my order I got four slices of white bread per meat (twelve total). They also gave me some napkins and two forks. Overall, I m glad I finally went and tried Meshack s. It was experience for sure. You need to have a lot of time and patience for their food. I was a little bit disappointed with the barbecue I got today, but I wouldn t right them off at all. I would want to try other barbecue places around town before going back to Meshack s. Maybe today was a little off. Tips: To Go - Meshack s is to go only. Parking - You can park in the abandoned fields east and west of the building. No parking right in front or next to the building. Business hours - They open at 10:30 am Wednesday to Saturday and stay open until the run out of meat. Payment - You can pay with cash or credit card. They accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Waiting - Be prepared to wait at least 30-45 minutes. I waited an hour and 15 minutes. Luckily, I was off today and could wait. Weather elements - Be prepared for the weather. It may rain and there is no place to go to get cover. If it s hot outside, there is zero shade. You re warned. Barbecue sauce - My order (meat by the pound) didn t come automatically with barbecue sauce, so if you want sauce you better asked for it. Luckily, I had some at home already.

I went at 11:15. I ordered 1 meat plate, chopped beef with sauce on side. I asked if had any ribs, which are SO good. She said 20 mins. So I said maybe next time then. Well, I waited and waited and waited..... I got my food at 1245! Still NO ribs though! Food is good but not worth standing in the cold 1 1/2 hour for chopped beef plate swimming in sauce I didnt want.

Showed that it was open on Christmas day. Tried calling too make sure pickled up and hung up. Drove to location but had a closed sign on window. Very disappointed with them.

Best BBQ in the entire DFW area in my opinion. Their hours are 10am-til the meat is gone, and the lines form quick. No parking to speak of & it looks like it may fall down in the next big storm, but it cannot be beat. While their sauce isnt my favorite, its got a not-too-spicy tang to it that is unique and delicious. All the sides are good, but I prefer to just buy the meat by the pound, whatevers left when I get there. If you just want lunch, the chopped beef sandwich or pulled pork are to die for. Wear a shirt you dont care about, ask for lots of napkins &/or bring a bib. It will get messy. Itll come out the tiny window in a grease-stained paper bag, so have a plastic shopping bag handy if youre not eating it in your car immediately. Lord, please bless this place, and all who work here, so they may be able to keep giving us the best smoked meats & yummy potato salad for the rest of my life anyway. Best kept secret in Garland. If anyone tries to gentrify this place, it will be ruined, so please tip generously & pray the owners never change a thing!

Ive been looking for some good barbecue every since Ive been here I moved from Arizona over a year ago this is the best barbecue I have had in Texas since Ive been here and boy let me tell you you will be licking your fingers this sauce is wonderful you have mild and spicy and I had the sliced beef and the ribs Tinder just the right amount of smoke flavor and those baked beans and potato salad Lord Lord but you have to get there early they open up at 10:30 but the line is already started about 9:30 or 9, because everybody enjoys the barbecue and they run out of the ribs and beef pretty early because Im serious theres a lot of people there when I went there there was a lot I bought sandwiches because I wanted to try the meat and see what it taste like before I even started my car to take off I took a bite of the sandwich got out and ordered a two meat dinner to go just that quick the beef was sold out . You will enjoy the food and personality of the crew.

Got 1 pound of ribs and a 2 meat plate with sliced brisket and sausage. It came with baked beans and potato salad and side if bread. So delicious, old homestyle bbq. Potato salad didnt care for much but everything else was spot on. 1st time here will be going back. Would have taken photos but ibce realized, it was to late.

Wed-Sat 10:30 a.m. until they sell out which is often fast lol long line most of the time so plan accordingly but trust me worth every second. Really friendly staff Ive been coming here since I was kid. I usually get the Dinner 2 meats and beans and potato salad very large portions of food by the way. Best bbq in Garland easily.

This small little takeout place run by a family is an awesome place for BB, especially briskets. I didnt realize it would so tasty. We ordered for sliced beef sandwich with potato salad and BBQ beans. To our surprise it was better than many other fancy restaurants. And the price was pretty reasonable too. I just wish they used hamburger buns for the sandwich instead of sandwich bread. But it was still great and mouthwatering finger licking.

One of the best BBQ spots in the metroplex. There is no seating - take out only. And youre gonna wait an hour. So make sure you carve out time. Maybe bring a lawn chair for while you wait. But oh so worth it! Brisket and sausage are my favorites!
