We were walking around and the outside of this bookstore caught our attention. It is such a cute place for fellow book lovers. They have a good collection of books from brand new to used paperbacks. I appreciate that they have a section dedicated to books about Galveston. Two stories. I definitely recommend visiting while on the island!

Super cute book store! Cozy feeling and feels welcoming. The staff was friendly and greeted everyone who came in. They were also supper helpful with trying to find the right size shirt for me! Definitely a spot to visit and we will for sure be back when we come down this way. They had a vast selection to choose from and some old and new. Also, there shirts are great!

Such a great stuffed bookstore. Books were marked, easy to find sections. There were a lot of old or used books, so some great deals were found. We even found some new books weve been wanting for a while and hadnt been able to get our hands on. Very friendly gracious owner

Not kid friendly and way over priced! I was gonna support a small business book store but constantly on my child for just being in the store (with a parent always with them wherever they wondered) was so annoying! Very disappointing place. Not a big selection either.

A good selection of books and laid out fairly well,however the sales associate was very angry at the idea of my 3 year old son running on occasion. He is a toddler and I was standing beside or behind him every single step yet the associate kept asking him to slow down and even implied that we needed to keep better track of him. He never once grabbed a book off any shelf, never got in anyone s way or caused a disruption of any kind. We put our books back and left.

The bookstore itself is quaint and well-stocked, if a bit disorganized. Weve been twice and found great books each time. However, the woman working the counter each time was hostile toward guests of all types, almost refusing to acknowledge people. We saw two groups come in for some kind of scavenger hunt, and she wouldnt even respond when one member praised the bookstore really highly in front of her. As I said, the store itself is a pleasure to spend time in, but only if you avoid interacting with this employee.

I was looking forward to browsing the shop and drinking my coffee. The employee promptly stopped me at the door and politely asked me to leave my (lidded) coffee at the front of the store. I have shopped in bookstores all over and have never been asked to leave my coffee at the front. Dont they know coffee and book shopping go together like peanut butter and jelly?

Wonderful little bookstore. Great Science Fiction section with both new and old works. (Found an old fantasy book Id been looking for!) Even found an old soundtrack LP for Space 1999 in their vinyl selection. Didnt have time to rummage through their comics, maybe next time. The prices were good and easily have the best storefront Appeal Ive seen in a while! Ya just gotta go!

Great selection of new and used reads. Didnt have as much time as I wanted to fully explore this shop, but I did find a trilogy of books that will make entertaining reading for my cruise, and beyond! They offer a choice of bookmark when you check out...a nice way to help keep your purchases in good shape.

What a find!! Such a cute vintage bookstore. They sell classics, thrifted books, and newer titles with those special edition covers as well! There are sections for historical fiction, sci-fi, fiction, comics a little bit of everything for the whole family. Decent pricing and the staff was great w suggestions. Got a free bookmark w our purchase as well

Nice place with an iconic store front. Lots of books in tight, but navigable, rows. Theres a mezzanine accessible by stairs with a decent selection of sci-fi. The religion section is not useful. Its mostly self-help style books or cult works. Very few actual theology or doctrine works. However the history selection is great and includes regional Texas books you may not find in many other places.

The bookshop is very nicely located in the heart of downtown Galveston. The store is filled with all sorts of options for whatever literary taste tickles your fancy. The place does smell like an old sailors office, but honestly, it fits the asthetics of the place. The owner greeted us upon entering and was very friendly. There are also old vinyl records available for those that are in a nostalgic mood. The store is much larger on the inside and almost seems like it never ends. Overall, it was worth the stop

I am a high end book collector, and obviously have a different idea of what rare means. Not a single rare book in the place. Only Easton press and folio and American library. The same stuff everyone has. When asked where the sci fi fantasy section was and the rare books from that section the book jockey said something like we have paperbacks upstairs. Yes they do have a selection of paperbacks that you would find at any junk shop. I must say avoid if you are actually looking for rare or expensive books. Not worth the drive. Although the store itself it relatively well laid out and the outside is very inviting.

Was really looking forward to visiting, and finally got to go over the weekend, amazing selection, had no issues bringing in our service dog or our autistic child. Really wish we could have spent more time there! My whole family could get lost in there indefinitely, just never come back out and be eternally happy. We will be making more time in our future trips for more time spent in the store. We even had a laugh when my son found the princess of Mars display asked about it, and my husband and I popped up in unison yeah by Edgar rice Burroughs! Amazing place. We will be back.

I love discovering new bookstores. This is a gem for any bookworm featuring both new and used books, some games and a decent vinyl record section. There were categories including young adult, horror and sci-fi. The cashier was very friendly and they offer you a free bookmark with purchase!

My son is autistic and has a fascination with stairs. When we walked in he immediately started walking up and down the stairs which lead to the second floor section of books. There was maybe two other people in the store and no one else he was blocking or causing any issues with. I asked the desk clerk where the fantasy section was and as I turned around to go with my son up the stairs, an older gentlemen came rushing out and yelled at him to stop going up and down the stairs, screaming this isn t a playground! I didn t say anything to him but simply left the store. I m not sure if he was in a bad mood or if he doesn t like children but he was extremely rude for nothing. I will not be returning.

First, the front of the building is exquisite. I love the spines of the books incorporated into the building. I walked around for quite some time. They have a huge selection or both used and new books to choose from. I bought an Eddie V. Rickenbacker memior, but did later come back for The Maceos and the Free State of Galveston book before leaving the island. Great bookstore.

This place is adorable. It is a blend of a used bookstore infused with several new, never owned collections of all genres of books. It made for an excellent visit on our vacation, and the staff were very friendly. Our purchases also came with free bookmarks with art from local artists!

This book has so many books! But if I had to pick something really neat, it would be the huge collection of comic books! The owner is really awesome and really friendly! The aisles are very narrow so it gives you the feeling of the treasure hunt! Highly highly recommend this small town!
