First, the owner is an amazing and bubbly lady with knack for customer service. The food is extremely delicious and maybe it s a good thing i do not live in Galveston otherwise my wallet will cry for help lol. The fish and shrimp were seasoned and fried to perfection! Nice crust on the outside, juicy on the inside. The roasted chicken is in a class of its own! Moist, juicy, and completely detached from the bones with little to no effort. All the side dishes were bussin but the black eyed peas, yams, and cornbread definitely stood out for me. 10/10 will visit again the next time i m in the area. Parking: Ample amount of parking space.

This place is perfect!! The food was excellent!! It tasted like a home cooked meal.. yams! cornbread! cabbage! fried fish! French fries! Mac and cheese! It was all excellent! The music was perfect. The food was really good and we enjoyed it. The reason I gave the food the four rating is my chicken wings were fried in fish grease and fried too hard. I suggest to keep your fish grease for fish because whatever else you fry in it will taste like fish plus have corn meal on it. Also, need more dessert such as homemade peach cobbler and homemade cakes. Awesome music playlist made me feel like two-stepping. We do plan to return next time in Galveston Texas.

So we ordered Ribs and shrimp, meatloaf, and a veggie plate. As you can see the sides are incorrect and there were only 2 containers in the bag. Mind you they did give 2 drinks. But missing the ribs and shrimp plate that was to have fried okra, and corn. The veggie plate missing cabbage and cornbread dressing. They instead decided to give double mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. I called several times with no one answering my calls and we got there to see them turn the lights off at 7:49pm.

Yes, its a simple atmosphere, but they feed you with lots of love and generous portions there! They put love on a plate there. My smothered pork was so tender that I could cut into pieces with the plastic fork I was given. Those greens were seasoned to perfection, and they certainly didnt forget the cheese in the Mac and cheese. We left there full, and thanks to the huge portion size, with lunch for the next day. We also had great conversation with the owner and her daughter, which was the best treat of all. We felt like family as we sat there, chatting, eating this amazing food and laughing.Definitely a gem, and we cant wait to go back. Stop in for dinner that is cooked and served with love. We left with full hearts and stomachs, and so will you.

This is the first time weve ever eaten bland Soul Food, which was quite disappointing. Most of the items on the menu are crossed out. The variety of food perfectly seasoned that Soul food usually brings is not at this establishment. This was our first time patronizing Soul 2 Soul. Stopped by Soul 2 Soul and we ordered fish and chips along with meatloaf and sides. The food was made fresh to order and everything tasted delicious! The service was good and the ladies were all so sweet. The only star I m knocking off is due to the temperature inside. We were sweating while eating because the thermostat was reading 82 degrees.

The chicken wings was cooked in the same oil they cook the fish in, my wings had fish seasoning on them and the wings taste like fish. As a restaurant owner, you should know to cook fish and chicken in separate oils. And the only reason the locals are not complaining, because they are probably used to it. I really had a problem paying $19 for wings that taste like fish. Potatoe salad is too sweet, add more mustard and a little salt and pepper. For the mac and cheese, too plain, add some salt and pepper and onion powder in the noodles before you add the cheese. I didnt order fries, but had two burnt fried in my to-go-container. The wings was over cooked.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant from out of town. The food was salty and some of the sides were not seasoned well. The fried wings had chicken feathers on it. The lemonade was not fresh, it tasted days old and the placed appeared dirty it had bugs on the floor and near the window panes. Not worth to pay for!

I happened to visit Galveston today and happened into Soul 2 Soul cafe. First, the owner was my cashier. She was friendly and fantastic! Second, I asked her how good her fried ribs were. She was offended and told me that they were her daddys recipe. I ordered them and the fried okra. Oh my they were good. They were the most outstanding ribs Ive ever had. I wish I could go back and get more of them. She came by the table and asked me how they were and were back to being friends now. :) Well worth the visit to Galveston, TX - Soul 2 Soul Cafe since 2014.

I wanted some great catfish, and I decided to search for a soul food place as the catfish in many of the top restaurants in Galveston are bland and pedestrian. This was one of the most enjoyable restaurant experiences Ive had in all my life. The food here was good . I gave it a 2 star for the food because the chicken and the fish looked and tasted like it was battered in the same cornmeal and fried in the same grease. I got the wing plate with cabbage and yams and my friend ordered the fried fish. The chicken was overcooked but it was still okay. Now the cabbage it was really good. The yams were good just to much cinnamon for my liking but they were good. The plate also came with cornbread which I didnt eat because it was sitting in an uncovered container by the back door and Flys were flying in it. I had the kool-aid nothing special about it it was literally just Kool-aid. The lady who took our order was super nice and extremely friendly she even was dancing with a few of the other guest. Safe to say if Im ever back in the area I will definitely stop back in.

The food doesn t reflect the building. Food was the definition of home style and comfort cooking. My wife and I happened to stumble in on our way out of our weekend getaway and had their weekend buffet. It was awesome. I overate! Had never tried soul food and can t say I tried one thing that was not good. It was all really tasteful even though I couldn t put a name to everything. There is thought and history behind the recipes. I don t know who the owner is but based on the excellent service, it is likely family owned and operated. Support it! You won t regret it!

Visiting Galveston for the week and looking for some good home cooking, we found Soul 2 Soul! OMG - do not sleep on this place! Everything was so delicious, so much so that after I ate, I ordered more food to go. The cabbage, yall. Glad I got to try it before it ran out for the day. The owner was super friendly and came to check on us and make sure we were enjoying everything. I wish I wasnt almost 4 hours away - Soul 2 Soul would be a weekly stop for me if I lived nearby.

Vegetarian options: They had a wide assortment of farm to table fresh vegetables. All of which were excellent. Kid-friendliness: The kids loved the Mac n cheese. All the food was really delicious. There were 6 of us everybody said their food was hot, fresh and very tasty.

July 2023 Me and my husband was on vacation and wanted some soul food and we were not disappointed. The food was DELICIOUS and very hot. Not sure why this placed was not packed because the food is so good. Talked to the owner for a while who was such a nice lady. Cant wait to go back.

Incredibly delicious food served up with outstanding, friendly customer service in a super clean little restaurant that was beautifully decorated and had great music playing in the background. The food my husband and I shared here was so tasty and full of flavor. Juicy and delicious soul food. I have definitely found a new favorite spot to dine and can hardly wait to go back and get some more! How can they make a simple chicken strip, or black eyed peas taste so good?!? Im telling you its absolutely Amazing!! Oh yeah and the portions were plentiful! I ate enough to get full and carry home leftovers too!

Great soul food! Dont go here on a diet! Ms. Cooks fried fish is my fav!! You find yourself even picking up the little crumbs that fall off your fried fish!! If youre looking for some real southern food Soul 2 Soul is the restaurant for you. The love here is something special. The food seasoning is by far the best Ive had. My husband, little sister and I came at 11:05, excited to try some soul food during our weekend in Galveston. Serve your own drink, paper plates I knew this was gonna be GREAT. Now we ate this meal in SILENCE! Wow .We didn t realize it was an All You Can Eat Brunch on Sunday but I m so glad it was.
