We are in town visiting and came here for my moms bday. Personally the fried pickles were not my favorite but my folks liked the crab balls. Huge portions. I got the fish and chips although its not on the menu they still had it available. Fish was really tasty. Service was good. Only real con is the parking is a challenge.

Very good breakfast! We were happy that there was a breakfast place looking towards the beach. Our server was very nice and I wish I had gotten her name. I got the shrimp grits which was good but I actually liked the chowder soup the most! I would definitely go back for it!

This was our first time and when we were waiting for a table I read through numerous reviews about the food, prices, and staff. Once seated we were welcomed by the waitress Elizabeth Liz and right off the bat she was amazing!!!! We asked for recommendations on what to order and her recommendations did not disappoint the shrimp and grits was amazing, the gumbo was the best we ever had and my 9 year old daughter said from the beginning she wasnt hungry and wasnt going to order anything, when I showed her the picture of the waffles she had a change of heart, she ate the waffles with strawberries & whipped cream, bacon, and hashbrowns, while eating she kept saying this food is bussin bussin and ate almost all of it! We left full and happy the prices and absolutely fair considering how big the portions are. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone willing to listen to me . For you Liz youre such a gem with a beautiful smile we watched you hustle and take care of your customers like they were your family and that means a lot these days, I hope you get to see this or the owner shows it to you because you deserve to be recognized. Thank you for making us feel welcomed

Everything that we have had here has been delicious. I highly recommend the keylime pie. Pecan Sandie crust and a luscious flavorful filling. Its litterly worth an hour plus drive just to have it. Be prepared for a 45min wait and parking can be kinda hard to find at busier times. Parking: Busy place with limited free parking lot. Can park across on seawall but that is pay

Ive attempted to go to Millers before, but the wait was always too long, but I FINALLY made it. Lol We went to Millers on a Saturday evening. Its conveniently located on the Seawall, which allows for a nice post meal walk along the beach. Although I was tempted to order breakfast for dinner, I chose to go with a more traditional dinner and had the Seawall Special with blacked basa fish filet, 8 fried shrimp and potatoes au gratin. I wish I could have gotten half my shrimp grilled and half fried like you can if you order the 16 shrimp meal, but on the Seawall Special its either one or the other. The blackened basa filet was extremely good. Its packed with flavor, moist inside with a slight crispness on the blackened outside. The fried shrimp were basically average for fried shrimp you get on the coast. They were good, but nothing special. If they had been grilled or blackened they may have been much better. I guess Ill never know. The potatoes were pretty decent once I added a fair amount of pepper and a touch if salt. My wife got the meatloaf and said she enjoyed it. I felt the service could have been better, and the dining room was a bit dark. The gulf is not viewable from most of the inside tables. Although there were chairs (although I didnt notice any tables) on the outside second story deck, there was no outside dining available. I could have sworn I had seen people eating out on the upstairs deck before, I cant say that for sure. At some point, I do want to try their breakfast; however, if outside seating isnt available, Millers probably wont be a regular place I eat in Galveston. I HOPE the deck is normally open and this was just an anomaly. Millers has a wide array of food types which should make most people happy. They have breakfast all day, home cooking and seafood. If you are going with a group of people who are at odds about what food to get, Millers would be a good place to go. Parking: On a summer weekend parking can absolutely be a bit tricky. Their parking lot is tiny and the Sewall parking (paid until 6 pm) and even up a few blocks is pretty crowded. Its best to pull into the parking lot to drop off someone to get the wait time and put you on the list before finding a spot. Otherwise, it might take you 20 minutes to find a spot to only learn the wait is an hour and a half.

I was very underwhelmed by their crab cake. Benedict. Even though it was enjoyable. The service was fast and friendly, I did eat alone, and there was a beach viewing area for a single eater, I thought that was nice. And a view for breakfast of the ocean is always a five-star experience. Even when its not. I wasnt rushed out, and the portions were good sized.

From our experience last night 9-16-24, I have a few things to say. The salad was not made fresh and the greens were limp; the 1000 island was kinda strange. My grilled shrimp seemed as though it was made ahead of time. My wife had fried shrimp, cheesey potatoes. We both had the crab dressing which was good. We did not get the table we asked for, and the waitress tried a bit too hard.

The best restaurant in Galveston and a must-visit every time, Im in Galveston honestly besides the beach Millers is the reason I visit Galveston. Such a relaxing atmosphere and a trip back in time with friendly service and mouth-watering food from breakfast to lunch and dinner! I recommend the blacked salmon with rice and broccoli. You will not be disappointed by dining here, parking is a little tricky going in between lunch and dinner is best to get a parking spot close.

There were two in my party and we were seated right away. It was busy but not packed. The lighting at the table we were at was too dark and it was warm and stuffy. Having a fan move the air would have helped. Parking was available and at no charge, but it is a little confusing as to exactly where we could park (this is a Galveston thing, not Millers). John was our server and he was awesome. He was polite and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu (we had some questions). We had shrimp, grilled and fried, and grilled fish. The food arrived very quickly and was cooked very well. I highly recommend their grilled shrimp and grilled fish. Our drinks never got empty, and John checked on us enough to be helpful, but not so much as to be too much. Millers was recommended to us by friends and was the best place we ate at while in Galveston. If Im ever in need of a meal in Galveston again, I will absolutely be back to Millers. Parking: There is a small lot right in front of the restaurant, and parking on the side streets right around it. Look for the markings on the road.

In town for work and walked over from the hotel. LOVED THIS PLACE! Food was fantastic. Our server, John, was excellent. Had The 16. If you like shrimp, you have to try this and do the half and half. Got fried shrimp one half, and John recommended blackened for the other half, so I did that. Some of the best tasting shrimp Ive ever had. John recommended the onion rings as a side, and they did not disappoint. Service was fast. Everyone there was hustling, wait staff, kitchen staff, bussers, and the front desk. John checked on us constantly and I heard other servers checking on their people constantly as well around us. Our drinks were never empty. There is something to be said for all of that nowadays. And, prices were great for the amount of food. Would definitely come back when Im in Galveston again.

We were served hot rolls and butter while waiting. The food was awesome. I had the grilled shrimp with a salad and baked sweet potato. my daughter had chickenstrips and macaroni in which she had to bring home because the meal was huge. The only thing I did not like was the hamburger steak that my dad let me try. Dont get hamburger steak at a seafood restaurant. Im just saying. My meal was fabulous, and I was full. Everyone was happy. And we met 2 guys from Los Angeles who were directors visiting galveston as they were filming a movie called 1923 with Harrison Ford. Great guys, very nice.

The exterior of the building was cute, the interior has a historic aesthetic but thats where most of the positives stopped. I understand they were pretty slammed BUT thats no excuse for the lack of service, the fact that we served crab balls instead of boudin balls and we are allergic! In addition, most of the food had a sweet taste from the hush puppies to the meat loaf. Never received the brown gravy for the mashed potatoes. The only other thing that was good were the pork fajitas with Gouda grits. Will not revisit.

Went here for breakfast. The seafood Benedict was fantastic. It was overflowing with seafood and taste delicious. It was busy ( being 4th of July weekend) but the service was great and the server delightful. Shout out to Stephanie S and the manager for knowing the history to share. They exuded pride in the place they work .

Great casual dining in a beach town. Clean, good food, and our waiter Lelan N. was amazing! The wait was long, about an hour but eta was45 min., so we thought that was a bit long. We had a party of 6 and the table for 6 actually fit us fine. Everyone enjoyed their entrees, sides and drinks! The bathroom was clean but could use more than 2 womenstalls. The view from upstairs is amazing and fun with a bar to enjoy while waiting for a table. Also, we were thankful that there was shade upstairs! We found good parking right out front for free but we did have to circle the block to wait on a spot to open up. The parking lot is very small but we got a spot there too when people came out. The location is good and overall we enjoyed eating here! Oh, it took a while to get our food though but luckily we were distracted by talking. It got really loud in the restaurant but we didnt mind, lol, we were chatting it up, too. The hostess was really nice and welcoming, too!

We waited with a buzzer 45 minutes to be seated which is to be expected at 6:00. Our waitress was very attentive. In order to avoid eating Asian fish, we had to pay an upcharge. The seafood gumbo is packed with sage and it is truly terrible. The grilled shrimp was good, as was the red snapper. The teenagers in my party said their meal was just okay. In fact, there was nothing especially good about any of it and I was disappointed that I waited. Next time I will skip the atmosphere and the restaurant on the water. Our meal the next day at Shrimp and Stuff was much better and for 2/3 the price. Parking: Be prepared for a long wait.

My family and I were excited to come here again to have lunch. We were waiting to be seated and my nephew whom has special needs started getting upset. My brother proceeded to take him outside to try to help him calm down. It started pouring rain so he had to bring him back inside. My nephew had not fully calmed back down and then the manager came over and said people were complaining about my nephew and we needed to leave. We ve never been asked to leave any place before. This restaurant doesn t really seem to be kid friendly. If your child is ever having a bad day, don t come here. If you come here and have a special needs child or family member, be prepared to be discriminated against and treated poorly. Shame on anyone for not having compassion for others and the struggles they may face. People with special needs deserve to be able to dine at a restaurant without being discriminated against.

We never got to eat. We were sat by the back door, and our server was a walking disaster with one excuse after another for everything she was doing. She took our order at 6:21 pm. We received it at 6:58pm ice cold. We ate nothing and walked out.

Tourist here. First time visitor. Local place with a great hometown vibe. Ate the shrimp and grits, which was just okay. Someone eating with me said it was inconsistent from the day before when they had it. We basically came because the grits had been so delicious before, but this time they were a bit brunt and the shrimp had the tails on them (maybe that s just how they do it, which is okay), which I m not use to. Worth a try, but it may depend on how the kitchen is running if it will be proficient or stellar. Also, the desserts are massive!
