I had the best experience here! I went for happy hour and sat at the bar top. The whole bar team was excellent, but the bartender Isabela was a standout. She was so welcoming and attentive. She made sure every bar guest always had what they needed while also taking time to make conversation with the guests. The food and beverage were all phenomenal. Landry s offers a great happy hour which is a nice way to enjoy the experience at a more approachable price point. The crab cakes, coconut shrimp, and spinach crab dip were excellent. The bar beverages were all on point! Thank you Landry s team for a perfect experience, I look forward to returning.

Wow, what an all around great dining experience. Walking in to the restaurant was amazing and you knew youd be dining in a top notch establishment. The dining room was immaculate and our table was well appointed. Shane provided us with great table service. He was professional, courteous, friendly, and attended to all our needs. And he was super friendly during all of our conversations. A really nice genuine person. The menu had so many options it was hard to decided what we wanted. But my wife and I chose the chefs special, grilled salmon topped with shrimp, crab, and crayfish. The salmon was out of this world. If you like salmon, youll love the salmon at Landrys. My wife also said the vegetable risotto was outstanding. From a pricing perspective, it was slightly higher ( a couple of $s per entre) than other top restaurants in the area, but it was well worth every penny. Overall, just a great dining experience!!! Great quality food, great people, great physical environment and great value for your dollar. You cant beat it. Well be back :) !!! Thank you.

Got seated 20 mins later after sitting, no one acknowledged us. I watched the table to the right of us get served after they sit down 5 mins after we did. Horrible Horrible customer service 3 male waiters walked by no one even said hello. I proceeded to the front and asked did they have a server and they stated someone would be with you, So I went back outside and another waiter walked by and never acknowledged us. So we left without dinning and the sad part is I have dined before and never had this problem. The restaurant wasn t that busy for terrible service like that!!

This is the first bad review i have ever left and i debated leaving it. My plan was to email the resturant but that wouldn t stop anyone from ordering the dish i did and make the same mistake.. Then i remembered that reviews are for patrons as well as the restaurant itself so i decided to go ahead with it. I understand that some nights miss the mark for whatever reason. With that said first the positive. I was staying at the Hilton next door for a conference so the location was very convenient. I ordered take out and arrived 10 -15 minutes before my scheduled time. (8pm) . I was greeted by the bartender who told me that the order was just released so it would be about 15 min. This made sense as i was early so i said I ll wait outside. It was a beautiful night and i had no where to be. When i came in about 15 min later i had 2 other staff members asked me if i had been helped. Everyone was very attentive and the ambiance of the restaurant had a very elegant vibe.. My food was packaged nicely with plastic wear and a bag of bread. I walked back to the hotel. From when i got the bag till i got in my room couldn t have been more than 5 minutes. This is where the downfall happened.. I don t know if i have ever had a more bland meal in my life. I ordered the Penne Alfredo with blackened shrimp.. there was zero flavor. Even the blackened shrimp were tasteless. I don t even know how that is possible. Im not going to belabor the point and I m sure there are a lot of great things on the menu so this review is not indicative of the whole menu by any means. Steer clear of the Penne Alfredo with blackened shrimp.. I have only ever sent a meal back one time in my life and that was a $60 steak ordered med rare and it came out well done. That being said if I was dining in, i would have sent this meal back after the first 2 bites. It tasted like pasta boiled in saltless water and whole milk sauce.. The resturant was not in a wait so I m not really sure what happened. I was very disappointed paying $35 w/ tip for one of the worst meals i have ever had. I really hope they take it off the menu or get this issue figured out.

Horrible experience! Waited years to get a table and just for waiter to tell us that they ran out gas to cook food. They only had soups and salads like really? Talk about not knowing how to manage a restaurant. Manager was also rude when I questioned him about the gas situation. Service was slow everything took a lifetime. I wouldn t come back to eat here even if it was the last place in world that had food.

Absolute best fine dining in Galveston, hands down. Our server was amazing and I wish I had asked his name. Landrys, you can call me if you want to find out who our server was using my credit card to backtrack our purchases. It was my wifes birthday and they made it an experience for us, and the food quality was incredible. The price is quite reasonable, if not a bit on the lower end for such exquisite and carefully crafted meals. This is the only time in my life I have ever been actually amazed at a dine-in restaurant and we will absolutely only ever eat here for our fine dining in Galveston going forward. I applaud Landrys and their staff for this experience.

We spent a long weekend in Galveston in the middle of August. We enjoyed the service of Jaymes. He offered wonderful suggestions and the meal, cocktails, and wine were all wonderful and complimented each other. What really stood out was her ability to anticipate our needs before we even realized them ourselves. The food was lower quality than expected for the price. I ordered the redfish Étouffée. The fish was heavily overcooked but seasoned well. Unfortunately the fish was cooked skin on, but served skin side down which left the skin chewy and not palatable. The Étouffée itself was ok but not exceptional. The drinks were good and wine options were diverse. I was charged for top shelf liquor on house margaritas, so make sure you specify well liquor or clarify what s in the regular margaritas. Not a huge deal, and the margaritas tasted good. Service was great, but for the overall price per person I don t think this place is worth the higher end price tag based on my meal.

This is such a beautiful restaurant with excellent service!!! Jaymes was so charming, quick and personable!!! One of a kind dining experience not to be missed if you come to this Galveston Island Tradition.. With the new orleans style, flavor and steaks and seafood offerings.. I had the most excellent red snapper. With garlic bread and a fine seafood gumbo.. They have always had the rue of the gumbo just right.. most restaurants miss this. Ask for a window table if you can..that offers you a beautiful view of the rolling waves of the Gulf of Mexico.. Then walk across the street and out on to the seawall and granite breakers that stretch out into the sea over a hundred yards..a sothing walk that helps digestion and soothes the soul..Life is better with sandy toes.. I will say, that we arrived after 8:30pm, and the hostesses gladly and graciously seated us. However, when we were sat with Shane as our waiter, we were very disappointed. He spoke about things in front of children that were absolutely inappropriate. He mentioned his 20 something anniversary, 9 kids, and role-playing w his wife, which clearly had a sexual intonation in front of our family. All completely unnecessary. Was this over sharing? Yes. Great location for a lunch if you re at the Galveston Island Convention Center for a conference. Unfortunately, wait times were long because of all the conference attendees and the restaurant appeared to be extremely understaffed. Ate at the bar, to avoid a 20 minute wait at 11:30 (despite plenty of tables available for dining, they didn t have enough staff to seat everyone). Food at the bar took about an hour as well as there was only one staff at the bar. Food was good. Got the lunch box, which is a great option for a fairly light meal. Fried fish tacos were not that great, but the shrimp and fish option hit the spot. You can t go wrong with their shrimp. Love the onion string and fries as well. Fries are not oily as you ll find in many other restaurants. The sweet iced tea at Landry s is always welcome! Dietary restrictions: Great option for pescatarians, especially the shrimp dishes. Can check with the staff regarding any food allergies as well and they usually check with the kitchen to confirm which is great!

We had a surprise party for a dear friend at Landrys in Galveston. They were incredible! They put us in the wine room and set it up beautifully. We had two fantastic writers and got incredible service. The food was delicious and very generous servings at a reasonable price. They let us have individual checks and were so kind helping us with everything we needed to serve the cake and decorate. Everyone had a fabulous time! We were staying at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort and were looking for a good dinner. Landrys Seefood & Steaks was highly recommended to us. A good and right choice. I have to say, one of the best and tastiest steaks Ive had in a long time. A top meat and excellent preparation. The wine with it was well tempered. We had a table with a sea view. The service was first class. The employees are professionals and extremely friendly. The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. A great end to the day.

We had special plans to eat at Landrys Galveston because it was where we chose to have our wedding dinner 17 yrs ago (hadnt been there since). So excited to reminisce about that special day. We were seated at a table and that is the last good thing I can say happened. We dont blame our server (it was his 2nd day) however, I am a celiac and asked for a special menu. After the language barrier, I received it. Had the manager come over and discussed what was safe. He helped make sure the server knew what to order. After my salad arrived, the Mgr walked by and asked how the extra croutons were. It took over 2 hrs to get our food. Yes, it was fathers day but larger groups got there after us, ate, paid and left before our food came. Once the good arrived they brought me the sauce that I couldnt have and sat it in front of me. After talking with the manager explaining how disappointing this experience was, he gave us a free appetizer coupon....wow. We werent looking for free food but just couldnt believe how bad it was. After working at a landrys many years ago I cant believe they allow this type of service. It ruined our dinner and any future visits. Which is a shame as it held a special place in our heart.

Took 3 hrs for our food to never come out. The manager wouldnt even come talk to us and apologize and then the cherry on the top was they said we had to pay for our appetizers and drinks. Never have i ever been treated like that at such a fine dining establishment. I am in total shock with the situation and the way it was handled by the manager. They ruined all of our plans for the night of our vacation making sure that we couldnt go anywhere else to eat or go to the pleasure pier. They should be ashamed of how they treated me and my family. I am a regular here, I went to their website made a reservation and no where did it say they ll have a Fathers Day Menu. The only option is a $55 - 3 course meal which is a great price but I come here just for the burger. I asked her to ask the manager if I can get the burger, I was told no with no other option. It was a take it leave it type response. Mostly seafood is on this option, I don t eat seafood. Suggestion is if you re going to have a special menu it should be notated on the website and when making the reservation.

This is one of a very few bad reviews Ive ever written, but its warranted. This was a long, awaited family outting, and I dont know if we chose the wrong night, or the wrong restaurant. Landrys is known for being a top notch place at which to dine...but I dont know what happened during our visit. When we arrived, a little after 8pm (the restaurant closes at 10p), we were seated immediately because the restaurant wasnt packed. Our server, greeting us after wed been sitting for more than a few minutes, took our drink order. We ordered cocktails and water with lemons. The lemons never came. It took more than 15 minutes for the drinks to be delivered to our table. The server then disappeared again for awhile. We wanted to order an appetizer BEFORE our meal arrived. The server came back. Weve now been sitting more than 30 minutes. She takes our order, still no lemons. I leave to visit the restroom. When I returned, there was bread on the table. We ate the bread, and then waited an UNACCEPTABLE amount of time for our food. People were leaving...and we sat there, continuing to wait, and wait. The server came back to our table, and we asked for more water. She left, and about 7-8 minutes later, a different server brought us water. We asked him about our food. Still no appetizer. The waiter told us that (2) chefs had left an hour ago, so the kitchen was just very busy. Why had 2 chefs left on a Friday night before closing time??? Finally, after about 45 minutes, food began to come...gumbo that we ordered...and STILL not the appetizer. Our server comes over and apologizes for not putting the order in for our appetizer- crab/shrimp spinach & artichoke dip. By now, we are so hungry, and just want to eat something besides bread. We were not pleased. I plan to leave a tip everytime I sit down for a meal, atleast 20%...the service was so bad that we began discussing the tip. My family member, who was paying for the meal, initially didnt want to leave any tip. Our daughter felt sorry for the server, even with the bad service, and because of that...an average tip was left....thats the ONLY reason why. We all have off days. Last night, the service at Landrys was OFF. When we finally received our main courses, after sitting in the restaurant for MORE THAN AN HOUR, the food was SUBPAR, not representative at all of Landrys. My food looked and tasted like frozen, overcooked fast food seafood. I ordered the Captains seafood platter. We left not happy with the food or the service. The only decent looking meal was the pasta meal. My loved one wanted to take us out for a nice family dinner. We traveled for that reason....and Landrys was a HUGE disappointment! My family member spent close to $300 for our meal. To make a bad experience even worse...we (2 out of 4 of us) had to run to the bathroom after a 45 minute drive back home. You get the picture Im sure. If I could give the restaurant a zero for service and food, I would. The ambiance was beautiful, and our family being together was beautiful...but Landrys (in Galveston off the seawall) service and food were terrible. What a DISAPPOINTMENT.......

Overall an OK restaurant with overpriced foods. Service and staff are great. Upon walking in, we were greeted by kind and elegant staff and they immediately led us to our table. There was some sort of seafood smell (not a good one) near the entrance. The food did not take long to come out after ordering and there was only a short wait between appetizer and main course. As already stated, however, all the food was overpriced and it did not fill us up, hence the star taken off. It was good to try but I would recommend Saltgrass (owned by the same parent company) as a cheaper and more filling steakhouse with the same great food quality. Kid-friendliness: There was a kids menu offered, but also overpriced and portions are small.

We are Landry s members and frequent their restaurants regularly! Visited the Landrys in Galveston tonight, after ordering it took an hour and 25 minutes to get our order, with a toddler at our table. I ordered a Wedge Salad with Grilled Chicken with no purple onions, a bowl of chicken & sausage gumbo and specifically told the waitress I have an extreme allergy to shellfish. About 30 minutes later the waitress comes back to me and said that they couldn t be sure the gumbo had not been cross contaminated with shellfish. When my salad arrived -onions were diced on the top, which was no big deal to push off, I took one bite of the grilled chicken to find it had been either grilled with shrimp or the same utensils used, having this allergy I know immediately cause my lips and throat swell and itch. As soon as I seen the waitress I told her the chicken had been grilled with some type of shellfish, she apologized and said I told them you had an allergy. The Manager then came out and said when a ticket is turned in with an allergy it s not cooked with that specific allergen, so I questioned, Are you saying the order wasn t turned in specifically noting my allergy, because I know the waitress updated me regarding the gumbo being cross contaminated? He was rude to say the least! I obviously didn t eat another bite of the chicken, but was still charged for it. He didn t even offer to bring something out as a replacement. I ve never had bad service at any Landry s location, maybe this Manager shouldn t be part of their team, he definitely lacks customer service skills!

Sat at the bar for my birthday, Christian was one of our bartenders and was very pleasant. I had the Cadillac margaritas and the peach old fashioned, both were very good. BLATANT RACISM! My family and I went to have a nice lunch, but were greeted with rude servers. They gave us dirty plates when they brought the bread, we asked for lemon with our water and the waiter brought it out in a wet napkin in HIS HAND. We told the manager and he said we can make it right, let me bring you a new plate. The food came and 2 out of 3 of the plates were cold. We looked around and the white patrons were getting better service than we were. Servers were laughing and joking, but when it came to us, they re were rude and cold. This was our second visit to the Landrys restaurant establishment in Galveston Island. I had the redfish dish blackened with etouffee on top and it was very good. My wife had a combination meal where she had a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was chicken and sausage gumbo I have to say that the gumbo was absolutely terrible. We had a similar experience with Landrys restaurant near Lafayette. The gumbo there was Even worse. Its really unfortunate that people who try gumbo and dont know how gumbo is supposed to taste was exposed to that dish. My wife and family and extended family all know how to cook gumbo and Mr fertitta really ought to get somebody else to make his gumbo for him and his restaurant.

We ate at several Landry s properties on our trip. This experience was the only bad one. Once we sat for about 20 minutes without anyone taking our drink order, we started to get up and the waiter stopped us and said sorry etc. We ordered an appetizer spinach and artichoke. Bowl of gumbo. Asked for the gumbo a little before our meal. And a Flounder for the main. In about 20 minutes our gumbo arrived. Gumbo was actually really good. I asked if our appetizer was supposed to be there before the gumbo. He said yes he would go check on it. He came back with a menu asking if I wanted a different appetizer because they were out artichoke dip. (He didn t even order it) after another 30 minutes our flounder arrived. Maybe it was me, maybe it was just late. Seemed dry and really just not that good. Even waiting for the waiter to get our check was annoying long. This is one Landrys property we won t be going back to.

It s a no for me. For what I paid, the quality of food was subpar. To be blunt, the food tasted worse than Golden Corral. This place use to be literally the best place to dine in Galveston. Had a great experience YET AGAIN! Got to sit outside on the beautiful patio right before and during sunset and enjoy happy hour. My server Ana was outstanding as always and made great suggestions. First tried the whiskey flight which was delicious we even discussed what each option would pair best with and then got the crab and shrimp pot which was an amazing value and surf and turf. Can t wait to keep coming back now that I have my LSC

We had a wonderful evening with our three boys! The restaurant was kid friendly and had a large children s menu. My husband and I had delicious meals. The mixed grill was fabulous! Shane was our waiter and he was fantastic! Very friendly and didn t rush the kids while they ordered!

We had a wonderful experience at Landrys. The food and drinks were delightful, especially the almond crusted Mahi Mahi. The highlight was our server, Shane. He engaged with our party and made sure our drinks were filled along with timing our meal perfectly. It was a special evening for our family and Shanes service made it even better!

Our waiter Evan was amazing! He was extremely friendly and helpful. Our daughter really enjoyed her birthday . He made us all feel extremely welcome, and made sure that everything was to our liking. He even offered to take pictures . Thanks Evan !
