This is a small paved area that could be a park, located next to a pair of restaurants. The paving is quite nice and includes a raised area that could be a stage. Music performances take place here, on top of the usual buskers on the corner. Youll find the Greetings from Galveston mural and the London-style phone booth, either of which is always good for a selfie. The park takes its name from Saengerfest, a biennial singing contest sponsored by German immigrant choral societies around the State of Texas in the 19th century. Playground: There is no playground here. Toilets: There is no public restroom here. Dog-friendliness: Leashed dogs are permitted. Picnic area: There might be a picnic table here.

Observance of Chanukah, first of eight nights. Host Chabad Rabbi Schmukler. Thank you, City of Galveston. Playground: Kids run around, but its not a playground. Toilets: See nearby restaurants. Dog-friendliness: Provides a few hundred square foot patch of grass near the wall and alley. I see dogs like the foot traffic. Picnic area: Benches, stairs, and garbage cans provided. Please dont litter.

Plenty of places to sit, including shaded areas. There are food, treat shops, specialty stores for home decor and beautiful consignment pieces. Dont forget to get a free sampling of jerky while youre there. Lots of live music, Harleys, classic cars and parking is a luck of the draw... You must go to La Kings! Dog-friendliness: Friendly fur babies and their hoomans can be found everywhere Picnic area: Plenty of places to sit and enjoy a lunch

The park was so much during our trip to Galveston! My friend and I played a game of giant chess. We went early in the day so the ice cream and food trucks were closed. But, I m sure in the evening it would be even better!

There is a painting on wall for photos, along with a bit of history. A big concrete compass seat, and a telephone booth. There was suppose to be a life size chess game (why we visited) but there was only a board no pieces. It not a big place take you 2 mins to see whats there. This is such a fun little park. Im from Wimberley, Texas and my travel partner is from Chicago. We we visiting Galveston I wanted to leave on Friday because the Hotel prices were going up for the weekend. My partner asked why and we were told about the Dickens Festival, so we stayed over the weekend and what fun. The park was all lit up with holiday decorations and there was a huge Christmas tree all lit up with colorful light. I saw a wall painting behind a stage that say Welcome to Galveston. Its really easy to stand in front of it and have ones pictures taken. Lots of places close by to get food and drink

A great space! The park is always clean. Went to watch the Fab Five perform. Always a fun show. The place was packed with people and the sound was great, very clear bass and vocals. Nice light show too. Went early to get a good seat. Was disappointed to find that Stuttgarden Tavern was charging $10 a seat to sit out on their patios that overlook the park (Theyve never done this before and I understand the need to make cash...but cmon). Then found out that they started charging $20 a seat once the band started (geeze!!). No surprise that A LOT of both level patios were empty. Disappointed in ya Stuttgarden . Still found a nice place to watch the show and had a great time at Saengerfest Park.

This park is where the Budweiser soundstage is set up for concerts during the Lone Star rally. Its a smaller area than the Seawall soundstage what is a fantastic location given the proximity to the action on the Strand.
