Unfortunately, we expected more from Galveston. It was certainly very nice here at one time, but now it seems to have become very run down. Picnic area: Picnic area overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

A nice place to say and have a picnic watch the water. Toilets: It just a basic restroom .

Nice park to enjoy the surf and place to meet interesting characters. Toilets: Closest restrooms are about a block away. Dog-friendliness: Make sure to bring water for your pets, there are no water fountains. If the pavement is hot for you to touch, please leave your pets at home.

Absolutely beautiful beach off the seawall in Galveston. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining, and the wind was calm as well as the sea. The beach was a little bit crowded but it was definitely worth stopping at and enjoying the view and the different sights they had to see there.

Beautiful place. You can feel as if youre standing in a place where history has happened. Im a big fan of the plants and birds around the area. I posted some photos of the plants and flowers and their names around the eastern fortification.

In the historic Hampton Battery area lies Fort Crockett Park on Galveston s Seawall. An iconic and historic place to the area, the park was in need of some updates to create an urban space. In this renovated park, native plantings, benches, picnic tables, shade and special plaques tell the story of the seawall, the fort and Galveston s record of surviving storms. The battery areas, are part of the original military installations at Fort Crokett. Enhancements to the historic seawall park were funded with a $1 million donation from snack-food maker Frito-Lay.

Very sublime part of the seawall. A common rest stop. The view is very unique both during the day and night. There is a sitting area with a large shade cast by 2 ship sails.

The seawall park is a great place to relax, have a meal, exercise, and watch the waves. Lots of shade, history, and seating. I love the fact theres outdoor seating right on seawall that is not in the sidewalk traffic.

There are 5 tables for the amount of money spent that the Commissioners allowed for this project it could have been so much larger they made it pretty not realistic
