The surprise burrito was pretty good I ll try this place again. I called in the order around 0700 and not a single customer was there. I would ve given a higher rating but when ordering I asked for no beans at least three or four times and the guy even repeated it back to me. Guess what was on the burrito? lol I ll update the review when I try it again.

The service is alright, it is not the best service. My family and I seated ourselves and the atmosphere was not that welcoming. It was kind of hot the entire time we were there. The server also walked up to us and told us that it was a Mexican restaurant as if we didnt know.The food was not that great. I got the mojarra frita and it had a smell that made me squeeze lemon all over the fish to finish it. The aguas frescas are not natural but the ones that come out a machine. I did let the server know what was wrong with my plate but she didnt do anything about it and she was not attentive at all. I loved this restaurant when it was El Gusto but now that love for the restaurant has gone down the drain. I wont be returning.

The food here is really good. The menudo is delicious. It has small pieces of meat with hominy. The flour tortillas are huge. The service is a bit slow but it s not bad.

Im standing at the register for like 4 1/2 minutes waiting for my order and they ignored me! I dont want to pull the race card but yeah, this isnt the first time they have done this to me. I left and sent my boyfriend inside to get the order and they basically ran to him because he was in and out in less than 30 seconds. They should stop ignoring people. Next time acknowledge a customer who is waiting. Ill be with you soon she didnt even ask me If I wanted to place an order or pick up an order she hid behind the counter. But when my boyfriend came in she asked him. She did see me and the guy in chair did too!! who is always there.

I went to buy some burritos today. Horrible customer service, they should fire the woman in the kitchen and the tall woman in front gave me everything in my burrito separately and when I asked her to put it all in the burrito I didnt want to and they wrapped it for me at the end but it was a Disaster what they gave me afterwards. She said that they put all the vegetables in the burrito aside because another customer had complained that her burrito was watery, but remember that when you go to buy a burrito it is because the word says burrito everything goes inside and the fact that another has Complained because his burrito is watery, its not that all people are going to want all the vegetables in their burrito to be put separately, horrible regret having gone to visit that place today

I had ordered from here so many times and they were out of stock with chorizo and canceled the 2 burritos I ordered. Didnt call or text nor did I have to option to cancel the 3 sliced of bacon and side potatoes that I was going to add to the burritos. So naturally I was Very upset when I called them and they couldnt do anything besides void the burritos and doordash cant do anything because it was delivered. So ridiculous. So chips were fried flour tortillas rather than corn. We were also only provided with salsa Verde. Portions were small. I ordered the special of the day (lunch menu). Chicken Fajita. It came with only one flour tortilla. One. One person I was with asked for the black beans but was served pintos: even though he specifically asked for them. It is Galveston restaraunt summer mode. Max profits as they dont care if you return. And no: it wasnt busy.

This place is more like a Mexican breakfast kind of place. My husband and I had the menudo. It was really good, had great flavor and it was a good hot, which I love because I really dislike luke warm menudo! I love that the menudo was diced small and that it had the right amount of meat and hominy. My kid had 2 barbacoa tacos and the barbacoa was delicious, not greasy fatty. I Would definitely recommend this place for the food we had. Also customer service was really good friendly and fast and prices are decent! WILL BE COMING BACK FOR SURE!

Small but nice out of the way dinner on the island. The tortillas were misshapen what means they are hand rolled, just like home. After the first bite I was back at my grandmothers house in Mexico. The coffee was great and service was excellent. Dont eat at McDonalds, drive off the main and eat real home style food.

Maybe it wasnt all that good because it was during the 4th of July weekend and they were busy and short staffed. I ordered barbacoa taco and pancakes. Took close to 30 minutes to get the food and only then did the waitress tell me they were out of barbacoa. So I just had the pancakes,which I feel would not be a good choice to gage a Mexican restaurant on, but I didnt want to wait any longer for something else. If I eat there again Ill update my review but for now, just ok in my opinion. Didnt take pics for the obvious reason.

Food is decent. However the customer service sucks here. Waited 30 mins on my first coffee refill but never got one. Small blonde lady prioritized gossiping with the kitchen cooks and a costumer that walk in and was served before other tables. He was also allowed to serve his own drink. Grabbing pitchers and cups along with silverware without ever washing his hands. I didnt think this was allowed. He was also walking into the kitchen when he doesnt work here.do not recommend this place.

Easily the best food I have had in Galveston. I had the chilaquiles verdes plate and my husband had the flautas. Everything was super flavorful and the flautas were super crispy! The beans were delicious and the service was great even though they were very busy. Definitely must try.

Our hotel recommended and it did not disappoint! REAL traditional Mexican food. We were in for breakfast and loved the laid back family atmosphere, prices were fair, food was off the charts and the service was good! Didn t take a picture. My very first time trying this place out @9ish. Me and my mom and sister and kids when here . Was very disappointed. There s was only I believe two people seating down eating and I took her 15 min to come tell us what we wanted to drink. Then she came back with some dirty coffee cups that had lipstick on the you can literally see it . Never again!! My son had bad tummy ache right when we left. Not like it used to be! Breakfast and Lunch here used to be really great! It was good, but dont expect it to be like the former El Nopalitos. I asked for Carne Guisada for lunch and got ground taco meat with potatoes!!! It was ok, I didnt send it back. I also had a bowl of Fideo which was really good! The wife loved it too! She had the lunch enchiladas which she said were nor that great. They used to be!!! The homemade flour tortillas are still real good. Just a little dissapointed.
