Enjoyed our visit. This isnt a 4 start hotel, but for the price, it is worth it. It is well maintained, clean and front desk manager was accommodating and friendly. Its not on the seawall, but from my room, I could see the water Update: As I was checking out, I informed the front desk clerk I was overcharged and he confirmed he saw the mistake... he proceeded to act as if he was issuing a credit, but that never happened. I even had communications with Red Roof corporate and nothing has been done about it. No worries... I will not be returning to any Red Roof locations.

This is my first stay at Red Roof Plus, and so glad I booked here before my cruise. Check in was seamless since I prepaid thru Expedia. Desk clerk was delightful, friendly and super accommodating. Room was updated and super clean. I was especially pleased to feel my comfortable bed and pillow! Location across from the beach would mean more if I had more time to spend in Galveston, but still nice and convenient to the Seawall. Thank you Red Roof Plus for starting my vacation out on a positive note.

If I could give negative stars I would! Booked the room online for $80. Wasn t sure if friends would be meeting us down there so put two adults and if needed change it later, so I thought. (Adding two more adults was an extra $10). Get to the room and there is water all over the floor from the AC. Walk down stairs and while doing so there was a full blown domestic in the parking lot. Go talk to the clerk about getting more blankets and pillows and add our friends who decided to come down with us. Right off the bat the clerk tells us no, he will not be giving us more pillows and blankets and was yelling. He then tells us we have to pay him $150 to add to more adults to our, which was almost twice the price of the room itself! Obviously we didn t do it. We mention the water in the room and he called us liars and that we were just trying to get a refund because we were mad at him. So we couldn t get a refund to go somewhere else. Go out to eat and upon getting bag there is just groups of people blaring music on the sidewalks outside the rooms and smoking weed as I am trying to get to my room with my kids and wife. Then shocker, get woken up at 4 AM to another domestic and dude banging and kicking on a door trying to get into a room. Clerk never said anything or cared to do anything. By far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Guess you get what you pay for, lesson learned. Safety: There was none! Not kid/family friendly!

I stayed 4 days and 3 nights. The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel has a great location, just one block from the beach and walking along the entire beach you reach the Galveston Pier. Less than 10 minutes by car you reach the historic center. Everything is very close. There is also a Walmart about a 5 minute drive away. The room had a refrigerator and microwave. The reception staff is very friendly, they always helped me with my questions and gave me recommendations, I needed to print a document and they helped me print it there. The hotel is family-friendly, I definitely recommend it.

The room that we were checked into had no tv service . And also verry pour internet .we felt verry unsafe there do to people in the parking lot were watch my truck and making phone call which seem that they were planning harm to my truck and or my famly i felt verry uneasy the 3 hours i was there . Booked room on business trip, there was no TV, internet slow, refrigerator barely worked. I feel if the advertised those amenities, and they are not available. Why was I not told before booking. Now refuse to refund. Recommend anyone considering this hotel (motel), to make a call to be sure what they offer truly works, before wasting your time and money. We stayed there on June 27 2024. We had the nicest room. It was just remodeled and was beautiful.comfortable bed and pillows. We were right across the street from the ocean. The gentlemen at the front desk were super nice. Would stay there again!

This hotel has been a wonderful experience. They are super friendly. Great customer service and cleaning. Rooms are clean. In walking distance to the beach. Also pet friendly. We had 3 sm dogs they didnt charge extra either. There is an outside pool. They dont do breakfast here but they are so reasonable with room prices. We will definitely be returning to this hotel. Spent $400 for two nights at the GOVERNMENT RATE at holiday Inn. I extended our stay and asked for two more nights.....$400 again. Looked around $75 at this motel and its way better than holiday Inn. Go to red roof, rooms are the same.

Overall I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms are nice and clean with modern finishes. The location is fantastic only one street from the beach. My only main issue came when I attempted to use the guest laundry. Another guest decided it was okay to leave their laundry in the washing machine so no one else could use it. I notified the front desk and was told they will not remove the other guests laundry. So I drove to the nearest laundromat and did my laundry. When I returned to the hotel I took a look in the hotel washing machines and saw that the laundry was still there. I get that the washing machines are first come first serve but how rude. They only have two washers and two dryers. Only other issue is a pretty large gap under the front door. Pets are welcome and they provide a doggy area behind the hotels along with poop bags. Nearby activities: Right next to restaurants and the sea wall Walkability: Right next to the beach. 1 street over.

Hidden Gem in Galveston, Stayed an entire week here and absolutely loved it! Great room, very clean room.. house keeping changed bedding & pillows daily for pet rooms. I been coming to Galveston for 25+ years and this is easily the best pet friendly place in town. Only a short walk to the beach and seawall. Plenty of parking as well. I will definitely be coming back here in a few months!! Rooms were nice but the first day the entire place smelled awful. Lost power the last day but the outside wasn t maintained very well. We got up to our room and there was a cup full of cigarette butts sitting there from the last occupants. Our room had a ton of sand in it so we ended up buying a broom and just left it there for housekeeping. They will give you extra towels or pillows, but they won t bring them up, you have to go get them. Very nice staff, doesn t serve breakfast though.

This place is a hidden gem. Formerly another hotel chain, then Red Roof Inns Plus took it over and remodeled. Not beach front, (and you re not paying for the view), so you don t get the funky, moldy smell and the deteriorating décor. The rooms were large and spotless, and good amount of towels and soaps. When the manager learned I was a first time lodger, I received a nice gift basket. A little known secret, if you stay there before or after a cruise, they will let you park in the well lit parking lot lot, and shuttle you to and from the boat- for $5 a day. Better than $25 a day at the port. Wi fi. My new go to place in Galveston.

We had a great stay. The staff was friendly and allowed me to email them some documents to print for my upcoming cruise. They also let me borrow their stapler so I could attach my luggage paperwork for the cruise. Plus, there are several restaurants and the beach is really close. The prices were very fair too.

Very basic no frills kinda room. Location is good, staff were good. The bed was comfy, pillows were decent. Could hear every sound from the room above, and the HVAC was really noisy. Towels were small, barely enough to get dry from a shower. Shower was good though. Not bad for a quick stop, But next time Ill probably spend thr extra $10 to get something better.

So this is probably one of the best budget hotels Ive stayed in. Check-in was seamless, room was spotless & deliciously fresh without any musty beach smell you would expect (seriously my husband was impressed with whatever aroma they used because it stayed the entire 5 nights we were there), beds were comfortable with soft, cozy white linen. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, & coffee pot. Bathroom was very clean, water pressure was great. While not typically beachfront because other buildings are blocking it, the location is still considered beachfront by coastal standards and the beach is less than 4 minutes between a building and across the street. I always saw employees working around the well kept property so it felt very safe. These hotels do allow pets including large dogs, so keep that in mind. For ppl who arent coming for recreation- this is a no-frills hotel, no breakfast & the tv channels are incredibly minimal. So bring a book or a firestick and a mobile hotspot if you want to watch tv. All of this is reflected in the price. If you want more amenities, you need to book a hotel with prices that reflect. Dont expect a 5 star hotel on a 1 star budget, basically. Thanks, would stay again for similar pricing!

Stayed here last night. I was surprised at how great this place was. The rooms were very nice without the musty smell common in many seaside hotels. During check-in Danny was so nice and helpful, I had been assigned a room on the second floor and I asked if they could give me a room on the first floor instead. He quickly found a room on the first floor and gave it to us. I will be staying here every time I visit galveston.

Upon arrival and check in we were greeted by a very friendly staff member. He not only welcomed us with a smile but also gave us a choice of 2nd or 3rd floor room with great views. We were told the direction of our room and the way to the elevators. When we entered the room it smelled fresh and we could see it was extremely clean. The 4 pillows on the bed were labeled soft and firm which I thought was a nice touch. The bed felt like we were at home in our own comfortable bed. As a token of gratitude we left a 10 dollar tip for what we considered a bargain-priced stay with exceptional quality in cleanliness and comfort. We will return to this location on future trips. Nearby activities: Being a Thursday night and early in the season we ventured off to the strand to find activities that suited us. We happened upon a karaoke bar that actually had some very good singers. Food and drinks: We went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant (The Original Mexican Restaurant) and later to the strand for drinks.

Great location. Able to walk to many different places. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel. The doors had extra security on them which was very nice! At night its well lit. There was also a nice machine too. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfy. There was many amenities such as microwave, fridge, iron, and hairdryer. The view was not anything special. Just views the parking lot. The place was pretty quiet. The worker Mr. Patel was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place. Its a good price compared to the other hotels.

During our stay during April 21st-23rd, me & my daughter for her 16th birthday wkend short vacation we booked Red Roof in Galveston. Let me say that the front desk two gentlemen while we were there were just amazing, kind & helpful! As soon as they realized it was my daughters b-day they went above & beyond & gave us beach view room. Room was comfortable & amenities great for the purpose of our visit. 2nd I felt safe with the very well lit parking lot, which was a must for just being me & my daughter & all the walking back & forth to beach/food we did & knowing my car was safe & secure as well. 3rd the location was absolutely perfect, so close to good food & most importantly the beach/Seawall, like one intersection, it was wonderful! :)

We stayed here over spring break and I cannot say enough good things. It is not on the beach itself it is behind some other businesses but close enough to walk to the beach. The rooms are well maintained huge and well lit. There are lights everywhere unlike a lot of other hotels and motels. I would say if you were traveling with Littles like toddlers I would recommend getting a pool noodle to place along the bed frame. It is metal and my kids hit it multiple times not seeing it. But other than that the property is maintained pool was great and we enjoyed our stay.

Not a good hotel. Fire alarm was missing (see photo) and there was a hole in the ceiling. When spoken to about it, the front desk essentially said deal with it . Good location but I d recommend anywhere else if possible. Hotel was also dirty. Rooms: Not good at all. Also bugs in the shower.

Disgusting. Paper crumpled and shoved in the peep-hole. Stains on the towels. Rust on the heads of the shower and floor. A hole in the ceiling housing the water sprinkler. No fitted sheets, just a loose sheet on the bed. Brown gunk stuck to the ironing board. Manager said it was on me that I didn t call when I checked in at 2am, and it had no reflection on him, his hotel, or staff. Said I wasn t gonna post this, but I don t want others duped like I was. Said his boss for complaints was overseas, when I said that was fine, he said he won t answer. When I said that was fine he said he can t legally give me his number. Lie on lie on lie. You get what you pay for. When we arrived we could not access our room because the locking mechanism had failed and the door remained locked. It took about 25 minutes for them to get somebody to fix the door and let us in. This is a bare-bones room. Although it did have a mini-fridge & mini-microwave. The bathroom door is not level & the toilet took a bit to flush. It is a short five-minute walk to the beach. Overall comfortable, but do not expect much.

First of all, this is not a beachfront hotel. There is no room on the property with a beach view, even in the photos online none of the rooms show an ocean view. This is very clearly a false advertisement. We paid extra for a room with an ocean view, and the manager, Victor, then argued with me saying we didnt purchase the more expensive room. Second, I was told I could not make a new reservation through a third-party booking site after my previous arrangements were expired. I pulled up Red Roof inn and found a lower price and I was told by the manager, Victor, that not only would I not be getting the room for the price listed, but that he was going to ignore Red Roof policy completely. According to policy, Red Roof will compensate one night if you find a better rate online. Thats the Red Roof Reidypromise. Victor told me even if I was to fill out the waiver 24 hours in advance and do the paperwork he would still cancel my room. He seemed angry that I found a better rate. We wanted to stay an extra night and Victor told me we could not book through a third-party booking site for a rate of $109 because we already got two nights with the cheaper rate. He quoted me $150 for the same room. Mind you, our first two nights were not cheaper, they were elevated prices. Victor explained to me that even if Red Roof calls him about anything to do with this matter he would hang up. I am very upset with how unprofessional he was. We will never book with Red Roof again. This halted our vacation, as we had to abruptly pack our things up and move to a new hotel on the complete other side of the island. I I was told someone would reach out within 24 hours and the only one to reach out was Victor apologizing for berating my family and ruining our vacation. I have worked in guest services for a lot of years and I can honestly tell you this manager is not a good representation of your company and brand name.

Showed up 10pm and there was one guy working in the office... And it was his first day! Total disaster, stood around for 30 while he fumbled around with the computer and calling manager for help. He did not even know what an American Express card was. Heavy accent, couldnt understand half of what he said. Their website said they had King rooms available but they they did not. They said they had military/first responder discount but the rate was the same. Good luck if you end up at this place.

Stayed here for one night and it was great! When we checked in they upgraded up to a beach front room which was really nice! When we got to the room it smelled amazing and so clean! Beds and pillows are comfy as well. This place is less than 5 minutes from the beach and so close to many restaurants. I know where I m staying the next time I m in town!

Made reservations a week before and when I got there from doing an 8hr drive , they gave me the key to a room someone else was in ! I got into an heated argument because the people in the room were mad about me walking into their room !! And the next morning they called me and told me it was time to check out EVEN THOUGH I booked for a few days !! Got me all the way down to front just to say they fixed in their system but other than that , the room was clean & quiet I would stay again only if we don t have those issues the next time .

The desk manager was very nice and welcoming. They also accept cash for payment and only put a card on file which i can appreciate. The room we had was very clean and kept along with a very well lit parking lot. This place definitely exceeded my expectations for the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room was clean but cheap and smelled gross. We asked about a dozen times for late check out, especially considering we checked in at 4am. The cleaning lady knocked on our door 3 times between 10am and 11am even though I informed her and the front office we are checking out at noon. I felt rushed getting ready.

One thing to note...this is NOT a smoke free hotel! Rooms are smoke free yes BUT all the guest smokers just step outside there door ( all rooms open onto communal balcony) and puff away there? They block the way some sitting outside smoking. The elevator smells of smoke too. Red roof plus needs to make this a genuine smoke free hotel..not just the rooms. Shame really. Value was excellent but we wont return due to all the smokers.

Nicely remodeled motel. Very bright parking lot at night, with cameras all around. I felt safe in my room, and everyone was very friendly. The have a nice pool, although there is no shade. The rooms are clean and decently sized. Beds are comfy, etc. Great place to stay if you are on a budget.

Where do I begin?!?! Check-in lacked customer service in a big way. The girl at the front desk was not friendly nor did she care about anything you asked for or needed. And this was every time we encountered her. The room lacked a lot of items such as lamps, only had overhead lights which were so bright and intrusive. Nothing on the walls, no pictures or artwork of any kind. These things typically make a room more homey and inviting. The shower was horrible, no water pressure and mostly hot, scalding water. The sink in the bathroom leaked and ran all over the counter if I didnt keep a washcloth on the counter. No furniture in the room except a very hard chair, which we tried the day we checked in and NEVER sat in it again. The TV did not have a guide, so we never had a way of telling what was on or coming on. It was a big guessing game! And one, we were not happy about. When we asked the girl at the front desk she just shrugged her shoulders and said, we dont have a guide and went back to what she was doing, which was nothing. She did not care! The coffee pot in the room was a joke and we didnt have coffee to go with it. So we asked housekeeping and they said, were out. Great, no coffee either, is all I could think. On the hotel website it said, free continental breakfast, coffee and juice, but there wasnt any. Go figure! The only thing they had was a Nescafe coffee machine, which we didnt know about until 3 days into our 5 day stay. It was the most disgusting and weak coffee Ive ever had!! It looked like slightly colored water. The pool was lacking in so many ways!! This hotel does allow pets, but trust me, they provide the smallest patch of grass Ive ever seen and called it a pet area. It was a joke! Every morning was total chaos with everyone trying to get there pets to go to the bathroom in this so called pet area. Dont get me wrong, our vacation was wonderful, but not because of where we stayed (it was a lot of work to stay here), but because me and my husband make memories. We make the best of things. We were out enjoying the beach, souvenir shops, Moody Gardens aquarium, rainforest and restaurants and just wanted to enjoy our room in the evenings and it was so disappointing every day. Typically we would go to another hotel if we werent happy, but it was a long holiday weekend and everything was booked. Needless to say we will never stay at Red Roof PLUS+ Galveston, again!! I do not recommend!

Dont waste your money here, the parking lot was flooded with very little rain, have to park on the street, the room keys dont work, had to get new keys 9 times in 2 days. Construction next door on a new hotel starts at 6am and is loud. Should have know when checking in this was going to be a dump, the owners name is proudly displayed on the wall. It is a Patel owner, they have no concern about your stay. Room had roaches, mold, heck they only have 3 TV stations because this owner is too cheap to pay for cable. Stay elsewhere, it is a dump

Very nice place to stay. The people were very friendly. It was so nice and clean! The pool was great. Its not very deep though but it was good for us. The deepest is 5ft in the middle. Very short walk to the beach. Restaurants close by.

Booked through hotwire and it was a nightmare. Kind of sketchy area. Lots of staring people outside that made us feel VERY uncomfortable. They put us in the very back corner of the MOTEL, in a very dim hall. I did not feel safe enough to stay at the location.

Just off the beaten path...this hotel is a little hidden gym! Just a short and I mean short walk (like 2 min) to the beach...a few more step and your looking at nice restaurants. The rooms are very clean and very nice. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

My family & I enjoyed the Red Roof Plus Inn in Galveston, TX. The rooms were very clean, which is always my main concern with any/all motels & hotels. The service was your regular, run-of-the-mill cleaning service. However, we did have a bit of an issue regarding the fact that it is advertised as beach front, but it is technically located behind a couple of buildings. So, to be more specific; when looking out of our rooms window we could only see a small portion of the ocean. So, I didnt appreciate that slight piece of what Id call false advertisement. At the same time the price we paid for the 2 nights we stayed was great, so it kind of evened it out. The only other bothersome thing, was the lack of parking space. We had to park across the road in 1 of the actual beach front buildings parking lot & walk a pretty good ways to our room. This was not an easy feat. We were on vacation w 3 kids & so we had A LOT of things to load/unload from our vehicle all which we had to walk across the road to do. But, as far as the actual motel/motel rooms... its nice!

If there was the ability to give 0 or negative stars in a review I would. I would NOT recommend the place to stay for anyone even my puppies. At the top tier price for a room in galveston this place does not meet the top tier standards. I have stayed at the red roof inn EVERY visit I have had to galveston at least once a year and it has always been a great bang for the buck. But the new red roof inn plus is horrible. Beds have stains all over them, MOLD on the shower curtains, non of the outlets work to charge and of you devices, remote doesnt work the TV. Attempted to get more towels from front desk had was meet with attitude and told that we should already have enough. These are only just a few of the major issues that I have had with this place and will not be back. Kinda sad to say the least.

We flew in really late from Midland Tx for our cruise we were so skeptical about this place but we needed a place to sleep. The outside was questionable but once you get in the room it clearly has been renovated! It was so clean and modern no weird or ugly prints it was bright and it made the experience really awesome. 10/10 we were pleasantly surprised!

The room was filthy when we got there and just smelt like they only sprayed Lysol in the air. The wall in the shower had hairs stuck all over it. The sheets and linens were disgusting they also had hair all over them, so we went to the front desk to get new sheets and linens but those were also dirty!!!! Again they had hair all over them and we found a dead bug inside the linens and the comforter was damp. This place is nasty and not worth $240 a night. The ocean view wasn t even good we just had a small window between the condos. Not worth it I would not stay here again.

My husband made reservations for the hotel. After looking at some of the reviews I was hesitant. Once we got there, I was suprised how nice and clean the room was. The pool was amazing. I would definitely would recommend this hotel. Never judge a book by its cover. Because if I would of went by what other people said. I would of missed out on a great stay. Thank You.

The linens were absolutely disgusting. Literally every piece of linen had some type of stain. I went to the front desk to ask for me linen and the woman at the desk did try to help. She came back with new linens from the back and stated, These are the cleanest ones I found. They know they have an issue but refuse to address it. After we left, we asked to speak with the manager. The stated he was out of town and had no idea when he would be back. I wouldnt be so upset if we werenot paying $400 a night on the weekend. Save your money and stay off the strip.

The Hotel its self I give 5 stars. Clean and we got a pretty view of the ocean. The people staying there I give a 1 Star. I was raised to be respectful and not yell down the hall or walk like you have 500 lb weights on all the way up to 5AM. I would stay here again because it was in a great location to walk to most places we wanted to go. Overall the Hotel was a 5. Thank you!

This motel is very convenient to the beach and some restaurants. They allow a dog free of charge. The housekeeping is minimal and on weekends non existing. When I checked in I had to go back down to front desk and get new bedding as the sheets and blanket were really dirty. Also, had to stop by lobby to get fresh towels.

I really liked how we could bring our cat with us and we were close to a lot of food places. The area was quiet and the parking lot is lit up at night. Very nice for feeling your car is secure. The down side to being here... the sheets were still very damp when put on the bed. We called the front asking for new sheets, we were told to find the housekeepers and ask for new sheets. Why do I need to change the sheets? Why do I need to find a housekeeper? The ladies didnt have any spare sheets. So we took them off of the bed and slept with the comforters. We shouldnt have had wet sheets to being with. I also called asking for clean towels, again, we were told to find and ask the housekeepers. The faucet in the tub was not working correctly, you got half the water pressure when you pulled the tab half was still coming out the bottom and half came out the shower head. Yes the price was good for being here with our cat. But honestly, Ill be going elsewhere next time.

I am here now and I havent enjoyed my stay at this motel at all. Its not family friendly, at bath time (have twin 3 year olds and a 6 year old) we were called two nights in a row for noise complaints from us walking around getting our kids in the bath and in bed. Like we have kids, we arent purposely trying to make noise. We found a roach in our bathtub, the room is hot and cant even take a good cold shower because the water is one temperature.... scalding HOT! We have used red roof inn for years especially when they were at the OLD location but will never be back to this one. Next trip Ill spend the extra money for a nicer and more family friendly place to stay. Also, hotels.com said they have breakfast available and no, its only coffee.

Clean room and quick check in. It smelled a little muddy but its normal for a beach hotel. The AC was blasting and satisfying. The location is only 2-3 minutes walk from the beach. The pool is 3-5 feet deep and was clean but is not open 24 hours. They need to run the pump the entire time to keep the water flowing and sanitizing though. There is no breakfast at this location. Will come back.

Very clean, spacious newly remodeled rooms. Comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. The A/C worked very well. Each floor has its own ice maker which is great so you dont have to hike up and down every time you need ice, and there are even washing machines and dryers available. The walkways and stairwells were plenty wide and well lit. This was a great place to stay at bargain prices.
