Main entre placed on paper lined tray. Paper food boats had sides. Smoke flavor on beef and sauce was good. But presentation looked like dog food, and beef cubes had mostly fat on them . Smoked turkey had little taste except for the sauce used. Very spicy, salty food. For 17$ a plate, I wouldve expected more per its description that what was served. Was nice place, but small and tables too low, couldnt get legs under them. Cramped space. Bathrooms ultra small. Had to sit sideways to fit to use toilet. Not much bigger than a porta potty. Parking: A few spots across street. Kid-friendliness: Friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Not acceptable, non accessible

Fantastic barbecue spot on Galveston Island in Texas. The brisket is tender, tasty and outright delicious. My daughter loved their macaroni and cheese as well as their coleslaw. The atmosphere is casual and rustic and feels very homey. Everything is fresh and made from scratch. We spoke with the cook who was a great guy and very knowledgeable, not only in regards to his kitchen and the food he prepares, but also as a human being. We had a great conversation with him and my kids loved hearing what he had to say.

The first rule and usually an unspoken rule in serving BBQ is to never ever serve BBQ sauce on the meet. The meeting should be able to speak for itself. With that being said........ - 3 meet sampler as always in my travels of this great country of ours. Brisket, pulled pork, and WTF only 1 rib! Comes with 2 sides. The portions will not fill a working man up. However, for a lady or someone in management, it will certainly seem like enough. Sliced Brisket was actually very well cooked. Pulled pork was cooked very well. Now for the single, 1, uno, Rib that Im confused, and still trying to rap my brain around why 1 rib was placed on my 3 meat platter as if it was the pinnacle of all meat and only 1 rib will finish a hungry man off and leave him satisfied. I thought to myself, this must be what they consider their holy grail, I must come back here again, taste grabber. I grab this one single rib and inspect it as if I was looking to the eyes of God, preparing myself for the single greatest taste experience of my 48yo life. I grab a paper towel and wipe away the BBQ they drown it in bc(wtf) aaaannnddd....nope, nothing but fat literally 1/2 a bite of hard meat. The best part of the meal was the baked beans. Seriously, some of the pest backed beans evey. I recommend they get a better cut of ribs or just give up on it 30$ price tag was a 20$ meal Oh ya, they bring your food to you. Thats it nothing else in regards to service. Overall, its not bad, but nothing Ill be running back to. Sorry, but Kansas City is still the best BBQ capital IMO

**The best BBQ on our USA tour!** We visited many BBQ restaurants during our trip from Florida to Texas, but Queens Bar-B-Que in Galveston really blew us away! The ribs were tender, juicy and simply perfectly seasoned, the brisket was buttery and the sauces were a taste revelation. The portions are generous, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is authentic and relaxed. Queens Bar-B-Que is a popular barbecue joint in Galveston, Texas known for its classic, down-home Texas-style barbecue. Founded in 1973 by the Queen family, it has built a reputation over the decades as a go-to destination for locals and tourists alike. Located on the islands historic Broadway Avenue, Queens has maintained a loyal following thanks to its consistently high-quality smoked meats, homemade sides, and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurants history is deeply rooted in traditional Texas barbecue culture. Queens smokes its meats the old-fashioned way - slow-cooked over wood, allowing the flavors to penetrate deeply into cuts like brisket, ribs, sausage and chicken. This commitment to time-honored techniques has contributed to its staying power, even as Galveston has become a tourist destination. Queens Bar-B-Que also became famous for its no-frills service and legendary sauces, which keep many regulars coming back year after year. The restaurant is considered an integral part of the community, offering not only food but also a sense of tradition and continuity in an area that has weathered hurricanes, economic changes and an influx of new residents. In addition to the food, the atmosphere at Queens is casual and has the feel of a classic barbecue joint - checkered tablecloths, rustic decor and a family-friendly environment. Over the years, it has become part of Galvestons cultural fabric, offering the best Texas barbecue in an authentic, local setting.

The smell when you walk in lets you know the foods gonna be amazing. We got the Turkey Cliffhanger and Gouda Mac&Cheese and split it and it was plenty for us. We will definitely come back here when were in Galveston again. Parking: I wouldnt call it the most ideal parking situation but we managed.

The worst place to eat or visit in our city of Galveston Island. These new employees are totally the opposite of Sandra Kerzee (RIP ) the former restaurant owner, known as much for her welcoming, kindness and generosity. Now you re going to find rudeness, uncaring evil people at the counter and/or waitress. In addition it is a very dangerous place, it can explote at any moment with people inside, just check the picture. Low quality food and drinks, orders mix-up, very slow service, poor customer service, uncleanliness, overpriced menu items, terrible general atmosphere, unavailable products and service, online menu is not what they really have. New reviews are bad, and old good reviews belong to the past administration.

Great barbeque. My friend got the smoked turkey sandwich and it was awesome. She loved it . A friend had it last time she came to Galviston and told her she had to get it. My beef was a little tuff and only 2 pieces on it. I dont know if it is always that way, I got the big opened sandwich and there wasnt much meat on it , just alot of bread. I guess I was paying for expensive hogee bread??? I saw a regular sandwich that was over flowing with meat and it looked great. So get the sandwich.

When a barbecue place says that the best thing on their menu is a turkey sandwich covered in cheese and jalapeño you are not at a place that understands meat lovers. The sauce is vinegary and decent, but be warned that they will pour it all over your baked potato if you don t tell them not to. The place is super charming. Too bad for the food.

I ve been coming to Queens for years when I visit the island and I was excited to finally get back after a few years away but I think this may be my last visit. $50 for two chopped sandwiches, fries, and drinks. The sandwiches were more meat cubes than chopped. Half the sandwich was fatty bits and the other had a texture I would not expect with brisket. My son wouldn t even touch his. The fries weren t awful, though they were more of a cross between a chip and a potato skin than fry. Over all I was just disappointed.

I worked in Galveston for 35 years. A friend introduced me to Queen s BBQ around 1980 or so. We ate there at least once a week, enjoying their chopped beef po-boy sandwiches with a bag of Lays chips and a Dr. Pepper. Then, perhaps a rib plate with potato salad or a 2-meat combo. All these years tasting the same great taste. Well, yesterday we traveled to Galveston (60 miles round trip) expecting BBQ satisfaction but was totally flabbergasted when the taste was VERY UNSATISFACTORY!! The chopped beef wasn t chopped, it was cubes of beef and it was hardly chewable. The beef tasted as if it had not seen a BBQ pit at all. Possibly baked in the oven and tossed with BBQ sauce that tasted more like vinegar and tomato paste. The ribs may have seen a BBQ pit but the taste just wasn t the fall off the bone ribs we were used to. Has this business changed management recently? We ordered to go and ordered enough for 2 meals each at home, spending almost $100. Even the once flakey crust of the peach cobbler was a gooey mess. I bought 2 of them and threw them both away along with the 2 chopped beef sandwiches. Ate the ribs with a store bought BBQ sauce. The sausage was different and so was the potato salad. I think the original owners should take back the name Queen s. It s not the Queen s it used to be. Needless to say, we won t be returning. Parking: Used be hard to find a space. No so on a major holiday. Should have been my first clue.

My order was placed at 12:24, and didnt get to the table until 1:06. It took 42 minutes to get my loaded brisket baked potato. There was only one other couple, and one guy waiting on a to go order. While we were waiting, another lady came in to pick up a to go order that was rather large. I cant imagine how it would have been if it was busy. To top that off, the majority of the brisket was fatty and inedible. I did like the flavor of the sauce. My friend had the pulled pork and thought it was good. We were late getting back to work. I really wanted to like this place, but I dont know if Ill give it another try.

After adjusting my order I was told it would be a 10 minute wait, after waiting outside I came back in and waited some more. Understandably it was busy and there was only two members of the staff that were visible, I m not sure if there was a Manager on duty. Just pretty much annoyed by the whole transaction, my gf is also pregnant so that amplified the feeling, and the food was not made well enough to make up for the experience.

Divinely engineered for the Queen herself in 1966, this is no ordinary sandwich. The World Famous Turkey Cliffhanger is a masterful monument of sensational culinary composition that took the 20th century by storm. To behold such a majestic symphony of flavor in its colossal construction of double-breasted turkey bound by the warmth of interlaced jalapeno jack cheddar cheese is to bring holy salvation to the messiah. The risqué addition of peppery Texas cut bacon was the Queens secret which couldn t be hath kept from noble man. So eloquently situated between the craftmanship of the Queens buns is a centrifugal clash of balanced marination between its Ranch sauce and the comradery of its green onions. These sweet buns are bottom rubbed with butter and lightly griddled to a gastronomic delight. For the Turkey Cliffhanger is not just any masterpiece nor work of art, it is a transcendental cliffhanging experience to be had every Thursday special from 11am to 8pm.

First time trying this place and was really disappointed. I called in an order for two brisket baked potatoes. Once I got to the restaurant I realized the baked potatoes were way smaller than most bbq places so I decided to add a couple of sides. Much to my disappointment, almost everything I asked for was sold out. No cornbread, no cobbler, no dirty rice, no greens and the didn t even have any brisket. Now I understand many bbq places sell out as they don t want to over produce and have waste. However, this was early afternoon and they still have about 5 hours before closing time. Now the most disappointment was after we got home and discovered these little potatoes were hardly even warm which I see other customers have mentioned. The cheese and butter were not even melting and we only live 4 minutes away from the restaurant. The Gouda Mac and cheese was dry, unseasoned and flavorless. I will say the staff was super nice and friendly when I was in the store as well as when I called back to voice my concerns. Jesse took my call and agreed to refund us for the potatoes. Great customer service goes a long way but can t save a restaurant with poor quality food. Vegetarian options: Several sides to choose from if they are in stock.

I ve made three visits to Queen s and have never been disappointed. This visit didn t rate the 5 stars they usually score and I ll tell why below. Queen s has a bar for those who need beer with your Q. And it s a pretty complete BBQ menu you have to pick from. This time Judy ordered a pulled pork loaded baked potato and I ordered an au jus loaded baked potato with a sausage add on. Big. We both took half home. Neither of our potatoes were steaming hot or even hot like you d expect baked potatoes. They were warm enough to enjoy and we didn t complain. The pulled pork potato was smothered in a sauced pulled pork. Hard to judge the taste of the pork but you could get a taste sometimes but the sauce was tasty being of just the right heat and sweetness and other saucy nuances we all like. The other part of the load scallion, butter, sour cream, shredded cheddar good and fresh. The not-hot potato couldn t melt the cheese well tho. The au jus potato was topped with all the loaded ingredients and then with 4 slices of good tender barked brisket. Nice. The sausage was diced over all. Then the whole was doused in beef au jus. The sausage was mistake. It was a mistake to dice it and a mistake to order it since it was garlicky like polish sausage and didn t have the smoky flavor I wanted. Will I go back? H**l yes. But if you go do your own saucing in your pulled pork and all your other meats too.

I ve been going to Queen s since I was 15 this is the first time their baked potatoes the deluxe was small. The picture is just a close up but that sucker was small. The sauce isn t the same it tastes like something from the store and this time the price for the potato was almost $20! What a disappointment! I would ve paid $20 for the way they used to make it but now nah that s trash. Now I got the cliffhanger turkey burger too the meat was dry the whole thing was dry. The quality of the food has gone down. I had asked when is Donny going to be here. The young lady said who? this is a bad sign. The owner, they sold the place. well y all can now go to Leo s on Broadway they still have good food and it hasn t changed. This place ain t the same so don t bother wasting your money. You don t get the same feeling when entering like you used to.

This place NEVER disappoints! The food, service, and atmosphere are the best in Galveston, and they have plenty awards to prove it. Its a hidden gem (35th & Ave.S) on the island and so worth seeking it out. It has been under new ownership for the past year but the new owners have adhered to the high standards that had been set forth for so many years. Hubby and I both had a sandwich (sliced brisket and pulled pork) chips, with a drink for the low price of $11 each. It was unbelievable as the sandwiches were loaded with meat and the BBQ sauce was so good. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend to others.

On a recent trip to Galveston we decided to get some BBQ and found this place with a high rating. Not today. The food took about 20 minutes with an empty dinning room. and came out luke warm and missing the jalepeno cream corn and told some was being made. when it finally made it to the table it was cold. not room temperature cold, but cold like it was taken out of the fridge and reheated but not stirred correctly then served, cold. Must have been Queens day off. Parking: Parking is difficult now do to Street construction.

I had to stop and try some authentic BBQ when in Texas, so Queens Bar-B-Que was my choice after doing a bit of research and getting some recommendations. I arrived not long before they closed, but was treated to some amazing cue! I settled on their Brisket plate, with their classic cole slaw and ham hock collard greens as my sides. The brisket had an amazing flavour, was juicy and tender. I enjoyed it without their sauce, but did try their sauce which was delightful as well, but the brisket didnt need it at all. The classic coleslaw was creamy and delicious. I personally wasnt a huge fan of the ham hock collard greens though as I found that there was just too much liquid with them as well as the ham hock being a little chewier than expected. There was so much brisket that I ended up taking some back to the hotel with me. If Im ever back in Galveston, Ill definitely be making a point of stopping at Queens Bar-B-Que again!

I ve never posted a review for anyrhing, but for this one I just had to. My family and I are from Wisconsin, and we were looking for a place to have barbecue in Galveston. We were a bit skeptical at first, but oh my goodness, this place blew me away. The manager was very friendly, the interior of the restaurant has a very homely old fashioned western theme, and the food was to die for. The brisket was lovely, the baked potato with Mac and cheese has a very delicious garlic aioli sauce. Definitely stop by this place if you re here.

My husband had a stuffed baked potato with brisket and Mac and cheese the first time and the second time he had the brisket sandwich I think. He is super picky on his bbq and absolutely loved it here!! I had the pulled pork sandwich the first time and the brisket plate the 2nd time. If I could give this place 100 stars I would!! We passed this hidden hole in the wall completely by accident after taking the scenic route to the water park. The smell of BBQ as we drove by was legit and we knew where we would be having dinner! One word, WOW! As a self-proclaimed BBQ snob I have to say, these guys nail it! We ordered the fried pickles, Texas Drip and Chopped Brisket baked potato. The fried pickles were the best we have ever had. The Texas Drip DAMN! And the baked potato did not disappoint! After giving some much-deserved complements to the manager, they offered a sample of their smoked turkey. Ok, I do not even like turkey and let me tell you, I will order the Turkey Cliffhanger next time! Price reflects the quality and portions, staff was nice, atmosphere was quaint. Queens BBQ will now be a required destination every time we hit the island! Thank ya ll for the amazing dinner and great conversation. We will see ya ll next time.
