Great location. You would expect it to be busy, but it s not. Been here three times and unfortunately it always produces the same experience. I don t know why we have chosen to try it two more times, but it only takes one visit to realize from a service perspective and operations perspective. It s not worth returning to.

This place advertised pool bar but the pool bar is only for hotel guest for the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton... The food came from the hotel and is not good at all for the price . My husband ordered Fish and Shimp. The shrimp was okay but the fish was just some fish sticks. We spent over 100 for 2 apps and I entree with a 25 dollar gratuity for 4 people. Was not worth the 123 dollars I spent at all when you have better quality restaurants right down the road. Drinks was all hot also.

The bartender- Frank was terrible. The drinks took forever. The food sat on the bar with flies on it and he told the bussers to not take it to the customers but to help him with various tasks at the bar because he cant handle his job. He spilled a beer on our table then tried to joke about how our casual table of 11 will be splitting everything equally to make his job easier. Im sorry but most of us didnt even order anything or 1 or 2 drinks while others ordered food and apps. Do your job dude. He cant handle his position and this place is ran horribly. I do not recommend.

The Longboard pool bar is run by the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel. That is the pool that abuts it. I was at the hotel for a reunion. There was drinking involved and this is the place we chose to do a fair amount of it. I didnt order any food, per se. Although beer is good food. So just rating the drinks, I am giving it 4 stars just because the first drink I ordered was a mojito and it wasnt particularly well made. Of course I told the bartender that it was, but I lied. I usually dont order frou-frou drinks, and I learned my lesson from the mojito, so from then on it was mostly whiskey. My friends had beer and they seem to have a very good selection. One other slight issue is that eventually I ordered a gin and soda and was served a gin and tonic. I then ordered another gin and soda and got another gin and tonic. I guess thats a reflex. Just trying to avoid quinine induced retinal toxicity. Probably not that big a deal since I wasnt drinking anti-malarial quantities of tonic water. Anyway, nice bar, with a nice view of the ocean and very nice staff. It has a bar you can swim up to, if thats your thing.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch. View of the ocean was great, but service was horrible. I ordered fish tacos, my husband ordered shrimp tacos. It s took about 45 minutes and we were finally served the fish tacos (it didn t come with the pineapple salsa it referred to on the menu). We were never checked on by our server in that time. It then took 20 more minutes until we could see the server again to ask where the shrimp tacos were as he had served every other table food that came in after us. He said kitchen was backed up then as he checked he realized he never put the second order in. We then told him we d just take the check and leave since we had already been there over an hour and he didn t even offer a comp of discount and when we asked he argued us about one, but finally took a beer and a soda off of the bill. Horrible service, the tacos we did receive were mediocre at best, would never go again.

The best burger I have eaten at a restaurant in a while for the price. It was thick and juicy, the bun was delicious and it came with lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. The cucumber cooler was so refreshing and hit the spot. Shannon was awesome with the customer service. Enjoyed it and coming back.

Would leave 0 stars if possible. Husband and I were waiting for our room at the Doubletree to be prepared. Went here to waste time, get something to drink. Sat at the bar. You would have thought we were invisible. Initially we gave them the benefit of the doubt as they were busy preparing drink orders. Even though one idle waitress at the end of the bar clearly saw us and still didnt offer service. Didnt really put a racial aspect to it because as I said, some waitresses were busying about. Until a Caucasian gentleman sat right next to my husband at the bar and the waitress told that man that she would be with him shortly. We are African American. Then it was undeniable. I have read some reviews that stated service was horrible. Dont know what race these people are. Maybe these workers are just plain rude. But in our case, it was clearly racially motivated. The Doubletree attendants said they hear this all the time. I would say steer clear of this place unless you are Caucasion or dont mind being ignored.

The place was not busy only two servers on hand. It took for ever to get some service so we hard to help ourselves pretty much. This looks like a place locals hang out, because the bartender knew most of the regular customers and they got the better service. We saw other customers come in and leave waiting after 30 minutes or more getting no one to give them menus or drinks. I would not suggest this place to have a good time, but I must admit the food we ordered was just to dam good! Great food terrible service no atmosphere.

Regrettably, my experience here has been marred by unsettling encounters with a manager who has displayed concerning behavior. The presence of a racially biased manager, seemingly intent on wielding authority, casts a shadow over the atmosphere. It is important to exercise vigilance, especially in interactions with the bar manager, who exhibits a propensity for unwarranted judgment. To my bewilderment, despite being accompanied by my family, including my wife and two children, we were subjected to an abrupt ejection from the bar. A vague accusation of intoxication was levied, without any specific actions on my part being cited. Despite my inquiries, no explanation for this action was provided, leaving us feeling unfairly treated and disillusioned. This regrettable incident runs counter to the standards one would anticipate from a DoubleTree Hilton experience.

Me and my girlfriend had a couple of drinks here, just the two of us. They added a 22% gratuity. Too bad because I usually tip at least 35%. Also my girl just won part of the Texas Lottery and the day before we left a $1500.00 tip at a restaurant with great service and no added gratuity. The service here is terrible, specifically Christina. It wasn t just a bad day because unfortunately I ve had her as my waitress a few times. She is extremely slow, doesn t check on her tables or offer refills, and leaves for long periods of time to take phone calls and smoke weed. Every time I ve been I ve had to find her or go to the bar to order because she doesn t ever tend to her tables. I ve given this bar a chance four times now because the view is amazing but I will not be returning.

Horrible experience today, visiting from out of town we wanted to eat and have some drinks on the water. The vibe looked cool so we thought we would try this place out. They had no frozen drinks! They only have Pepsi products, so we thought we would try the food. It took over an hour to get our food and the place was not busy at all! When I got my food the wrong item came out. Came here during my vacation and was so disappointed with the lack of customer service, let s start off with the fact that nobody greeted us as we walked in and they saw us. We sat ourselves on a open dirty table that I had to clean because I waited for someone to clean it and nobody showed up to do so, we then sat and waited up to 15 minutes and nobody came to at least take our drink orders or at least offer us some waters while we waited. There were maybe 2-4 staff members working and the bar was not busy but their was a good amount of people there nothing crazy tho. The fact that they kept looking at us and passing by and would not acknowledge us was ridiculous. We ended up leaving because nobody said anything to us. Go spend money elsewhere unless you want to get ignored.

I dont know if its because of the July 4th, but just now there were only 15 customers.We walked up and seated ourselves I used the restroom and returned to my seat. After watching the server finish up his table. He looked over at us and proceeded to ignore us and clean up the empty table. Once hes done he went behind the bar and pulled out his phone and looked up at us and dropped his head. Maybe Im wrong but we should do better at screening the staff before entering them into working with different races. Clearly he has issues with the darker color. But not everyone is focused on Color. We come to far to still dill with this in public restaurants.

My parents were down visiting us from Kansas and my Dad noticed this hut looking bar during our adventures down the seawall. We drove from the east on seawall down to the west on seawall and back to the easy when we finally found it. We went in found a table ordered our drinks and the rest is history. We ended up back here after dinner the next night for another round of drinks before heading home. Our server Ryan was working both nights and was extremely helpful and nice. Drinks were delicious and atmosphere is amazing. Longboat had now become our favorite hang out and will be visiting there more and bringing our family in anytime they visit from Kansas. Completely recommend to anyone.

Our waitress was fantastic but when I called to inquire about a set of keys that were left by the pool bar, manager had a bad attitude when he found out we weren t guest at the hotel and said that we shouldn t have been at the pool, when we were told by a bartender that we were allowed to be. She even served us at the swim up bar the rest of the evening until we left. I never received a call back and when I called the actual pool bar to inquire about my keys nobody would answer the phone.

I was hungry and heard this place had good food. I came along. It looked like a good establishment right next to the beach. I was wrong. I sat at the bar and waited 7 minutes before being helped by a bartender. Not only did I have to wait, but a woman walked up well after I ve been sitting there and was helped before me. She was a white woman. Shortly after I was asked by a nice gentleman that noticed the situation. You d think that was the worst part. Later I was waiting for food which took at least 20 mins to arrive. While I was waiting another customer threw food trying to hit one of the waitresses and hit me instead. When I looked back he acted like it never happened. Terrible experience at this bat. It took a lot to keep my cool. Never going again. Not sure if black people are welcomed.

My wife and I stopped in for a drink, since it had open air seating, facing the beach. I cannot speak for the food, since we only had a couple of drinks. I first ordered a glass of red wine and it was served in a tall plastic cup. The amount of wine in the cup was maybe 2-3 ounces! The bartender apologized for the tall cup, telling me that they ran out of the shorter ones. When I commented on the puny pour, he replied what do you expect? Were a hotel bar that charges 10 dollars for a bag of chips! My wife had a mixed cocktail with very little alcohol in it. So, we ordered beer for our second round...it came served in a can with no glass or cup. I asked for a cup and the bartender brought one for me, but not one for my wife! Really? You cant make this up! If you stop here for a drink, order a beer and ask for a cup. Otherwise, you will be disappointed as well.

Great place for some strong drink! We had the piña colada and the ginger sailor which we highly recommend. We also had the ranch french fries and the longboard nachos and loved it. Would definitely go again!

My wife and I stayed in the condos right across the street, and we LOVED having Longboards just a few feet away. Great service, awesome drinks, and good food. Not to mention, an incredible view of the beach. To those who served us the weekend prior to Thanksgiving 2020, we thank you!

This little bar is right by the water and offers amazing views of the beach. It was wonderful sipping on a delicious cocktail while watching all the interesting people along the seawall. The food is top notch as it comes from the double tree hotel that is connected to the bar by a swimming pool. Unfortunately, you can only use the pool if you are staying at the hotel. Still, it was a good time. The poor guy working the place was by himself and was swamped but kept calm and got everything perfect.

A great intermission to our afternoon in the sun! We simply left a towel on our rented beach chairs and walked across the street to enjoy an adult beverage! The Orange Creamsicle may not sound very adult, but it is delish! A perfect refresher for an August beach day! Love that the seating is all on a covered thatch pavilion, allowing the beach breeze to fill the air!

A friend of mine got me to leave my hermetically sealed pied-à-terre during COVID-19 to venture out on Ratchet Island:Galveston Edition for a frozen vodka dreamsicle we went to Longboards.... it was a LONG wait and we were BORED alright. The bartender in HOT PANTS was OBVIOULY phoning it in and there were 3 people in the whole place we ordered $40 of food. You would have they were surfing it from Rio de Janeiro because after 25 MIN we were STILL WAITING!!! I risked LIFE and limb and THAT is what I GOT!?! At this rate they should just STAY CLOSED! What are they gonna do when they are SLAMMED on a holiday weekend!?! We cut bait and moved on down tbe road!

The Shrimp Tacos were very good. The mojitos were blah. The Bacon BBQ Burger sounds good and looks really good, but had very little flavor. I couldnt detect any BBQ sauce flavor and the meat had a texture and taste as if it had fillers. - July 2019 A great little outdoor bar across from the beach with some good food too. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the Astros game while we ate and drank. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. He did a great job of taking care of everyone when it got real busy for a bit. My wife got the Nachos and I got the Kitchen Sink. Both were more food than we needed, but they were so good we couldnt leave any of it behind. - Sep 2018
