We had a birthday party for a friend who turned 70. The Hurricane II was perfect, since it started out as two bars. One side has the bar and the other side just has tables / chairs. They open at noon and we quickly setup all the party balloons . Domestic cans were only $2 during Happy Hour and $2.50 afterwards. We had a great time and the bartender was very responsive to our drink refills. Next time we are in Galveston, we will definitely stop by the Hurricane

I ordered 2 drinks and played a game of pool. A bartender told me to leave and wouldnt tell me why. I stayed until I was done then left. She was very rude. Yet their was alot of homeless people hanging around the bar. Not sure what that was about? It was really confusing.

Its a great place to go to done today they open up at 8 in the morning and Galveston thats a rarity if you cant find that many bars and drinks to have they serve alcohol at night but its nice place to go during the day and have a couple drinks and listen to gossip

I finally checked this place out a short time ago and I will most def be going back. Cool dive bar frequented mostly by locals. Good service and good prices. Theyre bar stetches across almost the entire width of the inside of the building, (its big so plenty of seating). They also have a pool table, game machines a decent amount of TVs and a pretty good size lounge area. Definitely worth stopping in if you like the dive bar atmosphere.
