The place is okay I mean we need to upgrade some of the bait needs to get fresher bait in most of all the people that come in and put their boats in the water thats ridiculous you got people that comes up to that shop and complain about these people speeding his boat by this area nobodys saying anything and maintaining the safety I have seen people get their pole snacks in the water because the during boats are so close to the sides how much everybody comes out through that shows no regard for anyone else thats fishing from the bank and on top of that the way that they drive that something should happen out there they should control something cuz it should be not doing going fast they are out there and then for the bait shop not to say anything and really pay attention to whos doing what they havent talked to so I could I wouldnt give a no stars

We were in Galveston during the solar eclipse weekend and did some fishing. Stopped here for bait. Amazing customer service as they were out of live bait, but gave us solid advice on where we could get it. Also gave us pointers on how to target flounder and where we should go to fish. They have a pretty good selection of tackle to offer as well. Easy 5 star rating. Id give more if I could!

Super clean bait shop! We walked in and were greeted by a soft citrus scent. Nothing like other bait shops. Reasonable prices for everything. She has snacks and drinks and is super sweet! Bait shop is located right next to the bridge and is also a good fishing spot.

We often buy our bait here. Really friendly folk. Prices are fair from a competitive landscape. Only critique is once in a while when we buy shrimp bait we get a lot of itty bitty shrimps as part of the weight we pay for. Im talking a couple handfuls worth of itty bitty shrimp that are barely bigger than a persons thumbnail, which isnt very useful unless youre buying bait to fish for bait.

I had an opportunity to go fishing on a bass boat here with one of Amerens best engineers. Lol, a bass boat. You know who you are. What a cool place, we hopped up on deck and was greeted with friendly staff and fish cleaning tables, as well as beer and snacks. Good bait shop, close to a spot. Whos watching who chumb the water brothers? Recommend swinging in some time.

Are you new to fishing? Need great products? I implore you to visit Galveston Bait and Tackle shop! I have never met such wonderful people! Quick story. Me and my family are new to fishing. Only thing we know about fish is how to eat them lol! Came in the shop and told the young male that we are newbies. He was super friendly and kind and knowledgeable. He explained the ins and outs of fishing in beginners language! He even set up our fishing rod and gave a tutorial. WOW! Upon leaving we agreed that this would be our go to spot moving forward. People launch their boats from there. Pretty busy outside per $10 to launch boat thats what it said on the outside wall. Portable toilet by street parking area to the left of the building. Nice staff. I made a stop here early in the morning . Got some shrimp bait, etc.

Even this 3G doesnt worth for 1 star. Worst experience ever. The owner is a lier, he charge for bigger boat and provides a smaller and Worst thing the sooner he get the money he doesnt answer phone. The staff at Galveston Bait & Tackle is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly . Theres absolutely nothing wrong with the ramp and either side may be used to launch. Theyre among the first to get bait in and among the last to sell out. I have no idea what the review before mine was talking about and it sounds like he doesnt either. If your boat gets damaged while waiting to load it on the trailer then the operator failed to take wind/wave direction into consideration while securing the boat, which is boating 101 and entirely his fault. He is obviously a very inexperienced boater that had a bad day and caused some damage to his boat. Giving a poor review must have made him feel better but the rest of the reviews speak for themselves. Best bait/ tackle shop and boat launch in a 20 mile radius.

Over the years this place has steadily declined. You can only launch from one side of the ramp. When the wind comes out of the south or south east it makes it a challenge to trailer your boat. I got some dock damage to my boat waiting in line to trailer mine. The guy that runs the place is accommodating !! Wont be back. They need major improvements there.

If you have a boat they will cater to you however if you dont they are horrible to you even if you buy things at their shop u r not welcome to fish on their property even if noone is around you, which means off the rocks, I saw her kick a dad and two kids who where fishing with kiddy poles dad wasnt even fishing, there was just no reason for it we were not near anyone as they have ran down boards with nails sticking out everywhere, we actually cleaned up many cans, bottles, lines that were there, double stay away, plus u can get all of ur tackle needs anywhere else cheaper
