The whole family has visited Moody gardens twice in a year while our youngest daughter was attending some girl scouts activities organized on site. We keep a beautiful memory of our visits and Moody Gardens are a special place to us. The attractions are all amazing and educational, the personnel is very professional and there are several good food options to stay the full day. A special thanks to Sadie who has been in charge of the girl scouts activities in both occasions. My daughter likes her very much.

Loved the rain forest. The aquarium was just ok compared to others Ive been at. Guest services should have explained more about the attractions and times. The day we went the boat was going out once. We missed it by five minutes. We did not know it was going out only once. Or what time. Food..snacks really and drinks are pricey. I suggest packing a water bottle and a few snacks. I like there is a ticket for everything. The rope course was down when we went but looked really fun!

Took a toddler to the aquarium and rainforest pyramids. There is a lot to see in both. The aquarium offers multiple level views of several very large tanks featuring penguins, fish, seals, more tropical fish, rays, etc. The rainforest portion offered a variety of birds (including some very brave ducks), Amazonian fish, a very nice bat cave, etc. A highlight was watching two sloths being fed. Note: this place is pretty popular with school field trip groups. Consider visiting in the late afternoon during the school year for a more sedate, quiet experience.

Room was amazing was able to get a room to help with my needs. Tv kept lagging and twitching the picture made it hard to watch anything after everything was closed. I have given the place four three stars for two reasons. Reason one the palm beach area was such a let down seeing something work was the only surprise here most toddlers to child play zone didnt even work and after spending 275 on cabana #5 to try to make it better I was attacked by ants was food the problem? No we hadnt even received our food yet. Lazy river was the only good part needless to say the pool was better than the whole palm beach experience. Second reason was breakfast. What an absolute let down trust me save the time just get the buffet not only did they sit and eat and leave before my waiter came to talk to us. Received two breakfast meals during my stay and both were such a let down juice is the size of a kid cup and food was basically school food. So again use the buffet.

This review is aimed to the exhibits area together as a whole. Went in on a Friday afternoon so was decently empty and not a lot of people except for a one large group that manage to get in front of and never seen again. The value pass is the best option as gives access to basically everything aside from the ropes course and zip line. Had lunch at the food court and was what you expected from a place like this, up charged basic food most of the food seemed to have already been prepared when we were there. Gift shops seemed less then average and a high gear toward kids which I guess is expected. A great family outing for the day, especially for those little ones that love animals.

I m from oklahoma, saw this online we drove to Galveston to go to this aquarium and see the beach and paid a lot of money to get in and was highly disappointed. It took us maybe 20 minutes to walk through. All we saw penguins and a few fish and there was a jelly fish room. Oh we saw a seal. I was absolutely shocked when we got to the end and that was it! I told the kids, no we must have messed up and missed something somewhere so we backtracked thinking we took a wrong turn or something and nope, we sure didn t! In my opinion it was a waste of my money and time! I honestly want a refund. I will never go back nor recommend it to anyone based on MY experience.

Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas, is a unique attraction that offers an exciting blend of education, entertainment, and natural beauty. With its stunning pyramids, lush gardens, and interactive exhibits, it s a destination that appeals to visitors of all ages. Highlights: Rainforest Pyramid: One of the standout features of Moody Gardens is the Rainforest Pyramid. It houses a lush tropical environment complete with exotic plants, free-roaming birds, and even some reptiles. Walking through this immersive exhibit feels like a journey through the Amazon, with the sights and sounds of the rainforest surrounding you. Aquarium Pyramid: The Aquarium Pyramid is another must-see, especially for families. It s home to a diverse array of marine life, from playful penguins to colorful coral reefs. The underwater tunnels offer a unique perspective, allowing you to feel like you re walking through the ocean. Discovery Museum: The Discovery Museum features rotating exhibits that focus on science, nature, and history. It s an engaging way to learn about various topics, with interactive displays that are both educational and fun. 3D and 4D Theaters: Moody Gardens also boasts state-of-the-art 3D and 4D theaters, where you can catch educational films and cinematic experiences that bring nature and science to life in an entertaining way. Palm Beach: During the warmer months, Palm Beach at Moody Gardens is the perfect place to cool off. This seasonal water park features a lazy river, wave pool, and white-sand beaches, offering a tropical escape right in Texas. Seasonal Events: Moody Gardens hosts various seasonal events throughout the year, such as the Festival of Lights during the winter holidays. These events add an extra layer of magic to the experience, making it a place worth visiting multiple times a year. Things to Keep in Mind: Admission Prices: While the experience is well worth it, Moody Gardens can be on the pricier side, especially if you plan to visit multiple attractions. Combo tickets and seasonal discounts can help mitigate costs. Crowds: As a popular destination, especially for families, Moody Gardens can get crowded, particularly on weekends and holidays. Planning your visit during off-peak times can enhance your experience. Weather: While many attractions are indoors, the outdoor gardens and Palm Beach are weather-dependent. It s wise to check the forecast before planning your visit. Final Thoughts: Moody Gardens is a gem on the Texas coast, offering a unique blend of education and entertainment. Whether you re exploring the depths of the ocean in the Aquarium Pyramid, wandering through the tropical Rainforest Pyramid, or simply relaxing at Palm Beach, there s something for everyone. It s a perfect destination for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to experience something both fun and enriching. While it can be a bit costly, the variety and quality of attractions make it a worthwhile investment for a day of adventure and learning.

Mood Gardens is a great place for food, fun and entertainment for couples and families. You have the hotel, restaurants and activities to enjoy all in one place. Multiple food outlets to satisfy all cravings. From swim up, ice cream and pizzeria, Moody brews with specialty coffee brews similar to Starbucks, Fine dining restaurant to cafe in the park Wave pool available for all with its nearby white sand beach that could rival a Caribbean white sand beach and last but not least the available lazy river offering relaxing while floating on provided tubes down the river There were several water activities for everyone on the hotel property and across the way the way at Schlitterbon There were a plethora of activities to satisfy all Only downsides. Room provided for the first night after upgrade was declined had a noisy knocking ac, bath did not drain after shower was used so the shower was more like a bath, bathroom tub had paint peeling, around the tub had what appeared to be black mold . Needed grouting. Door did not lock when we left the room as the lock needed adjusting. We found the door not locked when we returned and hour later. We got a room change the next next day but the room should never have been rented. The initial room gave me a bad first impression of the hotel and I felt cheated out of paying for a room that should never have been rented out and not for close to $300 per night. If not for the first night, this would have been a great vacation

Big THANKS to Yen Major for helping us check in during our recent visit to Moody Gardens. She upgraded us to a suite and helped us track down a cart for our luggage to get all checked in. She made sure we received bracelets for all the attractions and Yen made our stay one that we will never forget. The room was huge with all the amenities we could have thought of. We visited all 3 pyramid exhibits plus the water park area. We ended our last evening by dining at Shearns. My wife and son were both impressed with such a great experience. Thank you to Yen and all the staff at Moody Gardens. We look forward to returning soon!

Just checked in for my annual daughter and daddy weekend at Moody Gardens. I must admit most of the time we have zero issues but this time we were disappointed. First I booked a king room direct with the resort for the night and purchased two tickets for the day at Palm Beach. After spending the day at palm beach we went to the front desk to check in to find out there was an issue with our room and we could not have it. No one from the resort bothered to call me all day to alert me of this even though I spoke to them mid morning and asked them to alert me if my room could be checked in earlier than 4pm. Again no call, not even a note to check in early. Since my room was not available they offered me a room with no actual beds but said they would put an thinker mattress on the couch and offered my daughter a roll out. I dont think thats the same level of room. I asked them what else they had since they didnt offer up anything else. They said well we do a have another king a little larger but it would cost more. I gladly paid the difference to get a real bed but was disappointed they charged me for their issue. Then the lady asked me if I got my pass to Palm Beach and I said no; I paid for them because I did not see where the room came with passes. She laughed and said yes they are very hard to see on the website. I smiled and said well we plan to do your other attractions tomorrow if you would like to discount those. So she just offered the Palm Beach passes for tomorrow even though she knew we were not going tomorrow and kinda blew us off. Would have been better service to ask for our receipts and refund us for the tickets. Very disappointing service this go around that could have been easly resolved by empowered caring employees. I think next time we will go some where else.

Our family had a delightful time at Moody Gardens in mid-April, where we gathered to celebrate a 50th and a 75th birthday. The weather was perfect for our visit, and the venue catered to everyone in our large group, spanning from young children to grandparents. The Aquarium Pyramid was a highlight of our trip. Walking through the cool, air-conditioned space was not only enjoyable but also comfortable for our family members using walkers and wheelchairs. The exhibits were amazing, and everyone, regardless of age, enjoyed it. Some of our group took the paddlewheel boat cruise and greatly enjoyed the experience. While there were several concession stands available throughout the park, my options were limited due to celiac disease, so I stuck to a drink and a bag of chips. However, we had lunch at the Garden Restaurant, where I was pleased to find a delicious gluten-free salad with chicken. My partner enjoyed a hamburger, which was not only tasty (according to him) but also came with a fun touch an imprint on the bun. The Rainforest Pyramid offered an immersive experience. Though it was warm and humid inside, just like a real rainforest, it was fascinating to explore the diverse animals and plants in this environment. Our group found it to be very interesting. Our family had a fantastic time at Moody Gardens, and were already looking forward to our next visit.

I liked this place. 1 day all access pass is enough for the pyramids. We did the water park on the 2nd day with the single attraction ticket. Zip line was closed when we went, so no review for that. The water park is more suitable for those who dont need all the high excitement slides. It was perfect for us, 2 adults, that just wanted to float the river all day. Teens to young adults will likely bore quickly and be happier at the competitors water park. The pyramids are good for all ages. Lots of interesting stuff to see. Lots of movies, couldnt get to them all. The 4d movie was fun. The 3d movies we watched were well made. If youre into NatGeo docs, then youll enjoy these. Some of the 3d movies might be too long for younger kids. The boat ride was a bit boring. Its just a ride, not a tour. I would only recommend if the weather is nice and you want to take an hour break.

Awesome experience with the family! These pyramids and hotel were an incredible place to see all sorts of animals and swim and stay! We had a 2 day pass package which provided access to the Palm Beach small waterpark, 1 night hotel stay, aquarium pyramid, rainforest pyramid, discovery pyramid, ride on the colonel paddelwheel boat, and more. I love that this is near the beach also. I would highly recommend trying out this garden resort!

I reserved two tickets for a trip two weeks out. My girlfriend is unable to come to Texas now so I have to cancel. Im being told theres no refund policy. Theres nothing in writing on my tickets or my receipt. I dont know when my girlfriend will be able to come to Texas (Work, College, a child, etc.) but they want me to raincheck. I dont want to raincheck. I want a refund being its not stated anywhere that All sales are final As far as I knew I could make a refund. It wasnt until I emailed asking for a cancelation that I was told I cant refund. I will be doing everything I can to get a refund. This isnt a good business practice. Letting me raincheck is great if I knew I would be back in a timely manner. I dont want to raincheck I want my money back.

Grandkids liked the Aquarium and the Rain Forest. Aquarium is a better escape from the heat!

Stopped by here on our family vacation to Galveston and it was so awesome!! We loved all of it. You also get to touch the Sting Rays which was an added bonus. It look about 40 minutes at a slow pace.

Rainforest and aquarium are great. Discovery one not so much. Bottom area was closed and the area that was open did not offer much. Prices are a bit high and they also have this new rule.. no cash!! Cant use cash for nothing there!

Incredible experience! Loved seeing the aquarium! Jellyfish sharks penguins and all kinds of sea life! It was worth every penny and worth every second! I recommend a 2 day visit to be able to enjoy everything with plenty of time! We did and it was the best time ever!

We only saw the body exhibit, and honestly werent that impressed. Weve been to the one in Atlanta, GA and it was better. This seemed more of a smaller setup and the employees didnt do anything other than gripe at people for touching the glass displays. They didnt bother to help anyone or explain anything. The place as a whole seemed a little dingy and run down, definitely needs an upgrade. We didnt do any other attractions (unless the Schlitterbahn water park is part of this, we did go there).
