First time experience at this place. We ordered off the brunch menu. We ordered the Hummus appetizer. I have had A LOT of hummus, but Im not sure what they gave us. It was runny and it tasted horrible. We were really hungry and we couldnt even eat it. When the waiter came back and asked if we were done. It still looked full and I was surprised that he didnt say was the hummus OK? Nope. A couple came in with two kids and sat at the booth at the front, and they waited for someone to come serve them. After a bit of time, they just got up and left. Now, the bacon and eggs, how hard can that be. It took a while for them to bring our bacon and egg meal. The raspberry preserves on the toast looked like they were running out of the preserves. We get the check and find out that they dont take cash, only credit cards. That would be great to know BEFORE the check comes. This place would be a place for people to sit at the bar and watch college sports. We will never be back.

Ah, The Derbyshire Pub in Frisco! What an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Texas, yet with all the charm of a quaint English village. Imagine, if you will, stepping through the doors and finding yourself instantly transported across the pond, minus the jet lag. Its as though a slice of Derbyshire itself has been airlifted into the Lone Star State, complete with all the trimmings. The ambiance? Positively splendid! The décor is a delightful blend of rustic elegance and cosy warmth, with just the right touch of British eccentricity. You half expect to see a corgi napping by the fire or a member of the Royal Family popping in for a pint. Speaking of pints, the selection of ales and lagers is nothing short of marvellous. It s as though the taps are directly connected to a brewery in the English countryside. The staff, of course, are the perfect hosts friendly, attentive, and armed with that dry wit that makes you feel like an old friend rather than a paying customer. And the food! Oh, the food is a triumph of British cuisine. The fish and chips? A golden, crispy masterpiece that could make a Londoner weep with joy. The Scotch Eggs? A plate of comfort and nostalgia, perfectly cooked and served with a side of honey mustard that s as comforting as a peanut butter to jelly. It s clear that the young chef has a deep love for traditional British fare and a talent for executing it to perfection. In summary, The Derbyshire Pub is a little slice of England in the middle of Texas a place where the beer flows as freely as the conversation, and where the food is as comforting as a warm hug on a rainy day. If you haven t visited yet, well, what on earth are you waiting for? Pop down there, and you ll leave with a full belly, a happy heart, and quite possibly a new favourite pub. Cheers!

Came in for date night. A few things missed the mark. The carrots served with the wings were baby carrots youd find at your local grocer (not baton-style). The Guiness draft was off...a bit sour, but they did take it off my check. One of the standout menu entrees was the Steak and Ale pie...but it was already sold out! at 6:30pm so we couldnt try! The sticky toffee pudding was nice...but I ordered a hot toddy to go with it...I got a rocks glass, with lukewarm water...2 large lemon wedges and 1 shot of whiskey. This is not a hot toddy (known as a hot whiskey). If you are going to be a British-themed pub...you have to pour a great Guiness (this was not great) and at least know how to make a hot toddy. I dont think wed come back...

My second visit. Im an Englishman living in Texas. I like the fish and chips (although the chips are a little chunky) and they serve it with heinz malt vinegar. The sticky toffee pudding is amazing. The only thing that lets this place down for me is the lack of a proper IPA, either on draft or in bottles. They have a 1/2 lite IPA on draft which doesnt taste anything like a real IPA. Update from business. Other than british beers of origin weve tried to then stick with locals. We are making a swap out and should have another IPA, bottled, next time youre in. Great news! Im looking forward to it :-) British beers like IPA are popular worldwide now so Im used to finding them in bars/pubs.

Our fave fish n chips are in Santa Monica CA at the Ye Old Kings Head but this was a close runner up. The French toast was awesome as was the steak n eggs and BLT. We can t wait to come back and try the Double Royal and bangers n mash. True pub atmosphere. The only downside was our meal was not served all at once. It was brought out little bits and pieces at a time which is a pet peeve. It was 10 minutes between the first thing brought out and the last thing.

As a British guy from Newcastle England, a taste of home is always appreciated. With their imported beer from UK and English style food. Come here twice a week if not more. From the menu to the hospitality, its a great place to go. I watch my football here. Always great to see Matt the owner who always makes the place run smooth and keeps great service. Hes also good to chat to! And believe me hes got a lot to chat about . And Vince the bartender who s service is so precise yet so laid back at the same time always makes you feel welcome and having a good sense of humour, and other waiters and waitresses doing exceptional work at making you feel comfortable and happy. The pub looks like a English pub. Feels like a pub. Perfect location and easy parking. And now they ve introduced some live music on certain days. They will also play American football NBA, NHL, etc. And most muricans that ive talked to love this place. Looks a little small at first sight but with outside seating, booths and table space. Including a more private area booth. Give this place a shot and I promise you you won t regret it. Well done to Matt and team for creating in my opinion the best pub in Frisco. Oh, it s also open 11 am to 12am where else everything else seems seems to close a lot earlier

Our new favorite place! Came in on whim, immediately treated like family by James the bartender, and Dre the server. There was few people in the bar, which gave it a Cheers-like atmosphere. Had an amazing time, ordered the Amazing food, which my husband (who lived in England), said tasted authentic and great! We were there when Brooke (the one star review before mine) and her husband came in, she pleaded/asked we all sing happy birthday to her husband which none of us wanted to do, but she seemed so excited, so we all obliged. She didn t get their drinks immediately because James was running around serving food and making drinks. She didn t give him a chance when he apologized & demanded their check and exclaimed they wouldn t be coming back. More room for us, I say! Can t wait to come back!

Came in to try this place for the first time for my husbands birthday on a Friday afternoon around 3:30pm. We were excited to try it out as we love a good English pub. I will say that the upscale decor of the place is nice and swanky. All in all there was about 5 patrons in there when we initially arrived. All 5 were stationed at the bar so we decided to sit behind them at a round table for 2. We were greeted promptly with menus and waters and quickly ordered two of their signature drinks along with the whipped goat cheese appetizer. The appetizer came out fairly quickly and was good flavor wise specifically because of the raspberry jam and hot honey but my critique would be that the goat cheese would have been much better served warmed vs ice cold. At the time of serving the app, the waitress made a comment that surely the bartender would serve us our drinks soon to which we all laughed it off and asked her to check on them for us. Now heres where things turned sour, we watched as people came in and the bartender Chris made their drinks one by one. Eventually we asked for our drinks again, he laughed it off and said oh, did I forget to make drinks? He could have very easily offered to make our drinks, but didnt We decided to ask for our check, left, and wont return.

First impressions matters to some, others not so much. For me, it does. Over the past few weeks, coworkers have suggested I check out Derbyshire in Frisco Square. Sadly my timing couldnt have been worse. While other reviewers have been positive about the service, the one waitstaff during my visit appeared visibly irate and short-tempered to other customers. Then she got to me. Right out of the gate, I was told they were out of fries (chips). I suspect this issue may have been influencing her tone. (insert curious pause) Given the British stylings of the pub, I was looking forward to Fish & Chips as a sign of authenticity. For anyone whos lived abroad in the UK, New Zealand, or Australia, F&C is a borderline national standard that is reasonably expected to be available. Sadly not here, at least not today. Without an alternate preference to interest me, my meal ended there. Hopefully my experience is an anomaly and management will work to improve their service and future customers will benefit from those improvements. If reviews after mine return to glowing missives, then its worth considering that things have gotten better.

The bartenders are fantastic and will help make your experience as good as possible. Definitely recommend if you wanna find a place to chill, watch a sports game, or meet up with people!

I stopped by on Friday night (their first Friday open to the public). I loved the atmosphere and decor. It s refreshing to find a pub that is not completely dark! It s a bit loud but that adds to the fun atmosphere. Bartenders were super friendly and the owner stopped by to check in and say hello. Derek behind the bar was really helpful when I asked for suggestions on which drinks to try. For drinks I ordered The Wimbledon and Raspberry Gin Fizz. Both were really good and not overly sweet. The Wimbledon was my favorite of the two (it s a light strawberry tequila drink with a bit of creaminess). For dinner my husband and I shared the Scotch Eggs and Fish & Chips. I loved them both! The sausage on the Scotch Eggs was perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside but not dry). It packed a lot of flavor. Fish and chips are a really large serving so they offer half sizes. The batter is light and fish quality impressive! I will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items!

Upon my daughters recommendation, my wife and I decided to try out this new English Pub and we were thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was delightful, the food/drinks were excellent, and the cherry on top was the outstanding customer service. Surely this new establishment will quickly become Friscos new jewel! Two thumbs up!

Soft opening but the fish and chips hit HARD. So good! It s a lighter soda batter vs. heavier beer batter so you can enjoy the fish more. And the fish (cod) was tender and flavorful. Compliments to the chef! The chips were hand carved according to the owner. Basically a curved steak fry. Tasty! We also got the chicken, goat cheese, and raspberry jam sandwich, which was super good. We heard good things about all their sandwiches so we ll definitely be back! Good pub selection of beer including Tupps on tap. And the staff were all friendly, especially Dre who waited on our table. Thanks for a good meal, Derbyshire! Welcome to Frisco - Can t wait to return!

This spots got a fantastic vibe, great food, and top-notch service. Inside feels like a cozy pub, and theyve got a covered patio too. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious. I started with the bruschetta, and then devoured a juicy burger with some crispy fries. Definitely going to be one of my regular spots.

This review is based on a test/tasting experience. The restaurant will open for regular business this Thursday. First and foremost, the welcoming environment that was presented by the entire staff and ownership made for the best first impression for The Derbyshire. Their attention to their patrons throughout was wanting to be sure that everyone was happy and enjoying the experience. Even as much to apologize for delays during a test environment. On to the part we all care about, the food! For an appetizer. We had the Scottish Eggs. These sausage and breadcrumb wrapped hard boiled eggs were a delight. As someone who does not normally like this dish at other places, the sausage that is used and then thin layer of breading, made this nice treat to start the evening. While they were served with a mustard/honey sauce, the pairing did not necessarily match. So I preferred them dry. The explanation of not using a Dijon mustard was the local palate so far, but I do feel it s a mistake not offering this as an option. Entrée number one was the King s Club Sandwich served with crisps (similar to a kettle style chip). This sandwich is huge! Come hungry. This club s quality stands toe to toe with the best of them, just bigger! If you re coming to sit and watch the game for a few hours, you ll be fine, otherwise this tasty sandwich; which has some tasty thick-cut bacon, might be best shared with someone. The crisps were crispy and maybe lightly salted. Great flavor. We did hear if they are ordered by themselves, they will come with a dip. Might have been nice to accompany them here too. Entrée number two was their Fish & Chips. The light breading of the Cod made this a definite go-to at this spot. The fish was nice and flaky and cooked overall well. Though the size of the fish did have some inconsistency in the flavor balance, this was not enough to deter from the overall flavor. Fish and Chips is something you can get almost anywhere, but this one does stand out as being a better option so far, but will reserve complete judgement until we can order it again. The fact we want to order it again, should say something in itself. The chips (hand cut fries) were very good and have a nice thin-thickness to them. I enjoyed their tartar sauce and thought it complemented the fish well. However, my wife did find it a bit lacking for her tastes. The final item we tried was a test at making of a type of poutine. Derby Chips, Derek s special. Whatever they decide to call it, these MUST make the final menu. Awesome appetizer or snack to have while enjoying a drink! Overall, we cannot wait to go back when they open fully. There seems to be a nice beer selection, as well as full bar. Rumor has it there will be a massive Bloody Mary coming as well. While this was a test experience, everyone made it great and for that, we hope to be regulars at this new spot in Frisco!
