I came to Dallas area and tried this restaurant, excellent service, very good food in taste and variety, the Thali was full of flavors and variety, the chicken fry was excellent, some people were complaining of the smell, but come on, this is how the South Indian restaurants smell. You want an authentic South Indian restaurant experience at a reasonable price and quality, this is it! Well done Vedha!

We had non veg thali on weekdays, but it is recommended to go on weekends since they include Biriyani as well as weekends specials. Thali rating as per non Tamilian 3/5. Along with that we got chilli fish fry, felt fish was not fresh. The service was really good. Liked the ambience which gives traditional Indian vibe.

Had high expectations for this place. But very disappointed. When someone pays over $20 for food, expect hot or at least warm food, but here, it s been out for hours and cold: flavor was okay but the serving ppl served so little quantity and didn t serve some items at all (unless the guests are told what is available, no way i will know what to ask for. One dessert that is payasam that was cold. Don t remember eating cold food in any wedding ever. In short, missing items, low quantity, cold food, first and last time here. Businesses that don t value customers don t deserve our $$$

Atmosphere feels like sitting in a strangers house and food is decent but the plate is empty and needed to ask several times to serve each of the things in the non-veg thali, The pieces are very small with hardly any meat and seems like they want you out right away for whopping $21 on Weekend Thali! And before you address the comment please read it clearly.

This place serves authentic South Indian dishes. I tried Chicken Kothu Parotta and my friend tried Veg thali. The taste was very good and it was more like home made. From what they sounded you will get more Parotta options for dinner. I also bought a Thalapakatti Mutton Biriyani for takeout. Unfortunately, I missed to take a picture of the food. Kudos to the staff, they are amazing and treat you very well.

The food tastes, typical south Indian veg restaurant but asking for $25+++ for a veg thali consisting of Sambar, Rasam, Yougurt, Kootu and Poriyal, is not acceptable. The owner is trying collect his profits from every accidental visitor to this restaurant. I went there first on a weekend and second on a weekday assuming they wont over charge. Soon this will be closed for sure. They have already taken off their website for the past 2 months. Sorry.

The food tastes homely. But the price is way too high. $18 for a Vegetarian Meal on weekday is too much. And $25+ for the same Vegetarian Meal on weekends is a loot. Even Saravana Bhavan, Anjappar, Madurai Mes, A2B and Bawarchi operating close to this restaurant charge very nominal amount only. The Vrindhavan operating from the next block provides more good variety of vegetarian food for the same price this Vedhas is charging. You can even get more variety of food in Chennai Cafe, across the road, unlimited non-veg buffet for the same price on weekdays and weekends. No Tiffins available as per their menu ie., no idly, no dosai, no vadai, no pongal, etc. Only Veg or Non-Veg Meals or Briyani. To attract more crowd, the owner of this restaurant should think about reducing the prices and market it on social media. Good to give a try once in a while but not my option for regular eating.

That alone was enough for me to never come back, but I was outraged to be informed that the waiter doesnt get the tips!

We went for week-end unlimited vegetarian meals at Vedhas. The food was so so so fresh and served hot in the banana leaves with a traditional touch of serving food during weddings and other ceremonies back in India . For a moment we felt like we are in India. Though the place is small it s well arranged , considerably neat and clean . we were delighted by the service . They started by serving sweet, pickle and salt and then koottu , poriyal, paruppu, cauliflowe 65, panneer 65, panneer butter masala .. I was already filled .. then came veg biriyani , white rice , sambar , kozhambu with papas and fryums. I was really full..by the time I finish all these . but I could not resist to taste rasam . I couldn t eat anymore. So I had packed veg kurma .. last but not least .. then there was butter milk and payasam.. what an amazing lunch . It was a real vaazhailai Virunthu.. Loved it. I recommend this place for fresh South Indian food.

I had to some time to kill before heading to my hotel on landing in Dallas. I found this place just by chance after doing an online search. I am super glad that I found it. I had been craving for authentic banana leaf vegetarian meals for a while. Options for that barely exist where I live in the US. It was a delightful experience. I possibly came too early so I had the restaurant all for myself. I was told that the meal is even more elaborate on weekends. However there was nothing to complain about either the quantity or the variety on the weekday (Tuesday) that I went. The veg meal has one fried starter ( a cauliflower preparation), two types of palya/poriyal, a sagu (particularly spicy and nice) to go with a good-sized poori, one huli , rasam and sambar. There is also a small portion of veg biryani or pulao. To go with all this is a bowl of rice. Also served in curd, a payasam and a glass of buttermilk. Pickles, appalam and fryums by the side. If that reads like a lot, well it is. I think the quantity and portion was perfect and sumptuous. Enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend it. The service was prompt, apt and timely. All with a smile and humility. I wish I could visit on a weekend but that is for you all to try then Cheers! Vegetarian options: Good variety, sumptuous quantity, authentic taste, prompt service Parking: Parking is available for around 40-50 cars in front of and around the restaurant

I was happened to be in Dallas for my official conference. Me and my friends got together at this lovely place for a typical South Indian delicacy food for the dinner . After 10 days of international cuisine urge for my staple food was quenched well in Vedhas Kalyana Virundhu . Had a wonderful Parotta and kuruma of South Indian style with well balanced Spices and taste . Of course the people were courteous and willing to go extra mile to give the dining experience. Recommend for South Indian food lovers whoever from anywhere.

The only thing that compelled me to write this review is the fact the restaurant was rated 4.7 on Google with 112 reviews. And my experience barely scratched a 2.5 star. The food was hit and miss...sambar and chicken a hit, rasam, payasam, poori were a definite miss. Rasam had the taste and texture of warm saline, payasam tasted as if they used milk powder and not milk, and poori was stale. There was no staff to offer seconds, we had to ask and that they obliged, begrudgingly.

The unlimited thali with a vast selection of menu items over the weekend is a must-try. Ill undoubtedly be returning to savor more culinary delights this establishment offers. Highly recommended! Note: Serving hot food in foam and cold containers can be avoided.

Outstanding service and a delightful South Indian feast served on a banana leaf. Our weekend visit with a group of 12, including kids, was truly enjoyable. Food: The flavorsome dishes not only please the taste buds but also sit well in the stomach. Unlike many other Indian restaurants that include Baking Soda and MSG for enhanced taste, Vedas avoids these additives, ensuring a delicious meal without any adverse effects. Service: The restaurant provided excellent service, with the Chef/Owner personally engaging with us to gather feedback. The hospitality felt akin to being at a family function, where the host goes above and beyond. It truly created a home-away-from-home atmosphere. Ambience: The ambience is pleasing, offering an authentic feel that adds to the overall dining experience. For those seeking mildly spiced, non-greasy fare, this is the ideal destination. Its worth noting that the restaurant has undergone new ownership and a change in name.

My mom and I are at Vedha s for lunch and the food was good. The restaurant was relatively empty and was nicely decorated with a lot of Kolam designs. The food was served on banana leaves and each of the gravy items was in separate plastic cups which made packing anything we couldn t finish there a breeze. We both ordered the non veg meal and it came with a a good variety of side items, a bowl of rice, puri and a papad. The only complaint my mom had was that the rasam was a bit too salty. The chef came over to our table to talk for a bit as we were finishing up and was very sweet. Overall we both really enjoyed it there and would definitely come again!

I don t usually write any reviews. But, this place deserves one for sure! This is by far the best truly authentic South Indian I have had in Dallas area. Every dish served had a homely touch and taste. The service was excellent. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try especially if you had tried them with old management. The new chef and management has completely transformed both the food and the ambiance for the better.

If you are looking for authentic South Indian cuisine in Frisco you should try Vedhas Kalyana Virundhu. Its a small cozy place perfect for an intimate family lunch/dinner. My favorite is their weekend South Indian virundhu (feast) served on banana leaves and the best part is its unlimited (go hungry). Their service is excellent with the owner/chef always around and very attentive to the customers needs. Its my go-to place for lunch on weekends especially when I feel homesick.

Great weekend meals. Both veg and non-veg meals are good. All curries and biryanis taste good. I love their khara kolumbu and rasam. There is what makes me go back again and again. The servers along with the owner keep coming back asking if we need anything. Kid-friendliness: For younger kids under 5 they give a plate and give them what they want either poori or just papad.
