Usually this place is a crowd pleaser for the groups and everyone can find something they like. The queso is good and the drinks never disappoint. However, if youre getting the elote or the barria taco, it will be more inspired by in flavor. I took one bite of both and said no thank you, but plenty of others were fine with the elote. The barria taco was a different story.

I had to try this golden gem on the perfect corner. My wife has been ranting all about this Velvet taco place. Whilst in the neighborhood I thought I d try it out. It truly is amazing has she said. I had the pleasure of being greeted with a smile by Alaja M. She was spunky and spicy like this great gem of a place. It s so nice to have excellent customer service these days. The Smash burger taco was a hit. Just like my wife said it was.I definitely will recommend this place, and I certainly will be back, with the wifey.

We were in town to go to the museum and were looking for a delicious lunch somewhere close that we hadn t been before. Velvet Taco has been on my list for years, so I was excited to finally get to try it. We were there just after 11a on Wednesday. There is a small dedicated parking lot attached to the building, and a larger shared lot just across the alley. There was no line when we walked in and only a couple of people eating. Well that quickly changed! Lol and there was a line practically out the door by the time we ordered and sat back down. The interior to rather small, I m not sure if this is the same for all locations, but the décor is cute and theme-y. So many of the tacos sounded delicious and I was having a hard time making a choice, so I went with two of the favorites the spicy tikka chicken and the Korean fried rice. My husband ordered the kobe beef smash burger and the sweet chile shrimp, and we shared the red curry coconut queso. The queso, unfortunately, was a bit disappointing. The description sounded delicious, but it tasted like a basic queso to me, there weren t very many chips, and my husband felt the chips weren t very fresh. We saw MANY people order the elote and chips, so may have to give that a try next time. The tacos, however, were wonderful! We both tried them all and we had similar opinions on our preferences. The spicy tikka chicken and kobe smash burger were our favorites. I would say the tikka chicken was better, mainly because it s so unique, but tasted just as I wanted it to based on the description. I really enjoyed the jasmine rice inside the taco and the authentic flavor on the chicken. Be warned, it is a fried chicken tender, but this was really a delicious taco! The smash burger tasted like a delicious burger, on a taco, and you just can t beat that. The Korean fried rice taco was tasty and well flavored, a bit hard to eat though as the toppings just kept falling off and I didn t see any forks. The sweet chile shrimp taco was good, but nothing special. It did taste as you d expect and had several large well cooked shrimp, so no complaints, just didn t knock our socks off. We were too full to try any dessert, although my husband was very tempted by the large red velvet cake that was out tempting us. Overall, we had a great first experience and will definitely be back much sooner than it took us to make our first visit.

My first time here; my partner raved about it for months. We ordered a lot of food to go for a romantic evening: half a gallon of margarita (enough for the week), some nachos with queso blanco, and many Buffalo chicken tacos (without blue cheese, as per our preference). Everything tasted very fresh and exquisite. I also ordered one pork chile verde taco. Although it was fresh, if I can give some feedback: perhaps replace the rice with raw white onions, and add some jalapeños since it was not spicy enough. Would definitely return though! Update: We have since returned since and it has been just as tasty

Absolutely phenomenal tacos! We would definitely recommend eating here! This is the type of taco place that has unique flavors (more Americanized), and each of them are delicious. I highly recommend the Buffalo chicken tacos (juicy, great flavor to the sauce, and excellent chunky Bleu cheese) as well as the MexiCali shrimp tacos (hearty, tons of fresh flavors, and great seasoning). My wife got the mushroom tacos and loved them as well as the birria tacos. We left very full and pleased with our meal. We will definitely come back when we are in the area!

Visiting Ft Worth from Georgia and my daughter saw the excellent reviews online so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Louis really took care of us! Loved the hole-in-the-wall atmosphere and the tacos are the best specialty tacos I have had from NC across the southeast. A little pricey but worth it. Oh, and the red velvet cake is superb! I didnt realize theres a couple of locations in the Atlanta metro area so I will be making a visit to check them out.

Very crowded at the time we visited. It was toward the end of the lunch rush I think. Food was good. Service was as fast as can be expected given how busy they were. Seating at this location is limited so be prepared to meet new people. Parking is difficult. Not many spaces and not much room. Otherwise a decent spot for food.

Food and drink were delicious. Great sitting on patio relaxing. Not sure if short handed but multiple tables were dirty and was not any urgency to clean them. Great food with several excellent vegetarian options. Unique flavors, fast and friendly staff. Vegetarian options: Nashville hot tofu was delicious and well made. Cauliflower tacos were crispy with great salsa. All tacos are fully customizable to order! Parking: Parking can be limited at peak hours but its a decent sized lot.

Still the worst, 20 minutes to make 2 tacos. Horrible, terrible Has gotten worse about getting orders out always 5 more minutes or 3 tickets back. On a Wed night had to wait 10 minutes for 2 tacos and queso when it was ordered 20 minutes before. Terrible slow kitchen staff needs to be kicked in the backside multiple times

Velvet is always good to me. My go to order is either chicken & waffle (#18), grilled steak (#11), or chimichurri steak (#11.5). Slightly pricey per taco but its expected. I usually go during lunch so its never busy. They have a small parking lot so it can fill up pretty quickly.
