About the Company

rating: 4.6

Welcome to Fitzgerald, our concept is simple! To serve exceptionally well-prepared Gulf Coast inspired seafood and steaks, in a comfy elegant environment. Add to that a tremendous, covered patio, an extensive wine list, loungy jazz music, and make it all accessible to everyone. The only things we love more than the food and drinks here at Fitzgerald, is people, and the fact that good food and drink brings people together. Fitzgerald is a place for "people" old and young, to come to eat, drink, and celebrate life, family, and friends. We are more than a restaurant.

I took my family here this evening for my Dads birthday. The ambience was nice, but the service was not good; which I thought was surprising for the amount I spent. After we were seated it took almost 10 minutes for our waitress to get us water and take our drink orders. We only saw our waitress 4 times, it took a very long time to get our food, and once it came out it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while; the food tasted good though. All of our ice melted in our drinks and not once was the ice refilled, it was very odd. After waiting over 15 minutes at the end of our meal, I had to approach the hostess to ask for to-go containers and the check; our waitress was not present. There were only 3 tables in the dining area with patrons, so the dining area was not busy at all. I rarely leave reviews, but I thought the business owner might want to hear about our experience to offer training for their wait staff.

Beautiful hidden gem. Service was perfect. Food was amazing. The hostess gave us a tour of the facility when we finished eating. It s surprisingly much larger than it appears with 2 separate casual bar areas in the back. We ll definitely be back for happy hour and brunch.

We had the watermelon crawl and it was great. I had a glass of Montague Chardonnay it was fine. We started with the crawfish and fish dip it was ok nothing exciting definitely made in house but it lacked flavor. Cips were super dark and tasted like they were cooked in super old deep fryer oil. The second course we had ceaser salad. This was the best part of the meal! Cheese crisps they had on the salad was very old. Tasted like it was made a week ago. Third course. I had the mussels. They were extremely over cooked. As you can see in the picture, 70% of the mussels had fallen out of there shells and a hand full of mussels were not open. The broth was ok but waaayy over salted I could feely blood pressure rising at the table. My partner had the scallops. The most disappointing part of the meal for a place that pro claims to be a primary seafood restaurant. The scallops were over cooked and not properly seared. One scallops was so over cooked it was split in half. The rest of the dish was luke warm at best. This dish was even salter then mine! Mashed potatoes and what ever abomination of a sauce was on the plate were very poorly executed. There was zero presentation. Server was new and did a great job. We asked for our salads and entrees to come out at the same time. We were told there was a kitchen error and they would come out separately. That fine. How ever we were 1 of 2 tables in the building. Another couple comes in and there food was delayed and were told the same excuse.

This experience was bad from the beginning. We ordered a bottle of pellegrino and two cocktails. We never got the pellegrino. They were out of one of the cocktails and the other one did not taste good at all. We ordered 2 of each of the oysters. Instead, they brought a plate with 4 different types of oysters and did not tell us which one was which. We had also ordered some crab dip which made it out super late and we had to remind them of it. The food took forever to come out. I ordered the half chicken. This was accompanied by what looked like mayo. The chicken was bland and the spinach tasted a lot like wine or something pungent like that. Horrible food. The food prices are way too high for all of this. We are never coming back.

Only thing that was good was the managers attitude and the restaurants decor.

The day before we walked off, on a Friday due to the establishment being extremely busy and was told the wait was 45min to be seated. We did however plan to relax at the outside bar until we were able to be accommodated as instructed by the Hostess. However was told by the bartender the outside Bar was at full capacity due to a party. I wanted to treat my husband as well as myself due to experiencing a death in the family and basically needed a nice time together. We did however return the next day as things happen and was very surprised the Hostess/Owner and even our Waiter greeted us and acknowledged that we left the day before and wanted to know what happened and if we were okay. It was a great feeling just being asked and concerned and that they were happy we came back the next day. Everyone there was very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious and as always they were on point. And to top it off the dessert was given to us as a Complimentary due to the day before. It really made us feel valued and appreciated. I highly recommend Fitzgerald for their quality service and always making our experience there a pleasant one. We will definitely be back!!

We tried this beautiful restaurant on Sunday and it was amazing. We ordered steak and it was delicious. Our choice was well done but still juicy enough to make it taste like fresh. Our second order was the Roasted Half Chicken was similarly delicious. It reminds me of a chicken dish that is called aresto in my country. Very similar in taste and texture. We had some adult drinks with the food and we had a great time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and well maintained. Service was excellent as well.

For the main course, I had the blackened redfish, my husband had the bouillabaisse, and our friend had fish tacos. My redfish was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. I helped myself to a bite of my two companions main courses, and they were both excellent too. Each dish had a slightly unexpected flavor, in the best possible way. The chef is doing some wonderful things with spices and sauces. We ended the meal by sharing a bread pudding with ice cream, which was scrumptious. And as far as service, it was fantastic from start to finish. This is a great restaurant! Im looking forward to trying their brunch soon.

Was a nice restaurant week dinner. Wife started with Chilled Sweet Corn and Blue Crab Soup. She said it was good and enjoyed. I started with the House Gumbo. It was also good with alot going on. It wasnt just a watery soup. Wife then had the Blackened Redfish which she enjoyed. I had the Tenderloin. It was good, but not sure it was worth the upcharge. Was done in the middle perfectly, however the outside sear was a bit tough and had a bit more burnt taste then I cared for. Wife finished with the Chocolate Mousse and I had the Keylime Pie. They were both very good. We did order the wine pairing, but it was never shared what the wines were. They tasted good, it would have been nice to know what we were drinking. Also, first pairing was a rose sparkling. Thought this was an odd pairing with the Gumbo. Overall service was good, however our server seemed new and needed to learn a bit (alot). Id go back, but try to not sit near the bar and kitchen. Too much internal discussions that we heard and it was trafficked. Not sure if we were relegated here because of the Restaurant Week menu, but it felt a bit like the worst table in the place. Atmosphere was nice, but a bit dated.

In town and wanting to try a new place with high reviews. Girlfriend and I love food, drinks, and seafood. Mild old seafood smell upon walking in, but could come with the territory. Excited about the experience. Ordered drinks, 4 different apps and the special sea bass. All the apps came at the same time, disappointing. But the lobster corn dogs and crab cakes were good. The tuna ceviche was nice, but not ceviche like you d expect. The kimchi oyster were so bad and we couldn t finish them. Fortunately the server took those off the bill. Sea bass entree was fishy, small portioned, and disappointing to say the least. We ordered another round of drinks (delicious btw), and were given the check at the same time. The two of us finished our +$200 meal in less than an hour. Service was nothing short of bad, and still tipped 15%. Thankfully the bar manager stopped by and was very apologetic and understanding. It s rare that I walk into a restaurant that fits me. This place is one. Even though I m not necessarily a fan of 40 s jazz and swing it suits the place. The pan seared scallops were excellent and the sea-bass was presented on a sea of cheese grits and a special gravy - exceptional. Try the lobster corn dogs as an appetizer. Tonight was shrimp bisque! We made it to desert and the slice of chocolate cake could feed 4. I like that portion size allows us to get to desert. Extensive wine list they have meets all tastes and budgets which means this place has game. A must if dining in Fort Worth. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Very comfortable restaurant seating - not something I usually notice or comment about.

We went for the Jazz Brunch on our anniversary and they had the best espresso martinis!! We were able to get substitutions to make the Steak & Eggs + Gumbo both gluten free and dairy free for our allergies. The staff was great with our allergies and even gave us complementary champagne for our anniversary. We made reservations in advance to listen to the live jazz on the patio and it was lovely.

Fitzgeralds has a lovely decor which makes it a nice place for a special occasion. I wasnt sure what to expect when we were seated as we didnt have a reservation and they seemed to imply we needed one even tho it was early and almost empty...but this place surpassed my expectations. Our waitress Carrie was the best - super attentive and fun! We really enjoyed everything from the hush puppies & jalepeno sausage appetizers to our main dishes. The shrimp and grits were excellent and my hubs really liked his roasted chicken & poblano cheese grits. When we told Carrie we were celebrating our upcoming birthdays she brought us a bananas foster pudding on the house. Try the Fitzgerald house cocktail with Nolets gin, its bomb!

We picked this restaurant as a last minute birthday dinner spot for my husbands birthday. I was just looking for a steak restaurant and we got way more than that. Hes a big fan of raw oysters and these didnt disappoint. I love crab cakes and these were jam-packed with lump crab and the little (too small) dollop of sauce was wonderful. My husband got the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp sear and a good portion of their sauce on top. I got surf and turf with lobster and filet and was very impressed. We also shared the mac n cheese, which was a good complement to the spice in the sauce on our meals. The service was good, but our appetizers didnt time together. It was a nice surprise to visit a newish seafood place in town that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.

Food was good but the timing was really weird. We came in with a group for brunch and there was about a 15-20 minute difference between the time the first person s entree arrived at the table and the last entree arrived at the table. That s awkward. I m under the impression that was the fault of the kitchen as our server specifically checked for accuracy once everyone s orders were taken. Service was good otherwise.

The lobster corn dog, and shrimp dip for an appetizer. Yummy! The striped bass with mashed leeks and asparagus was a hit with all of us. We will be back. So Ive been here twice for dinner. Food is good, however, theyre trying to be an upper echelon restaurant. They unfortunately do not meet that standard in my opinion. Food overall is a 3/5, service can be slow at times and lacks attention especially for this price point, atmosphere is nice I like it. From my 2 visits food highlights were good grilled oysters and shrimp pasta. Mediocre food items are deep fried catfish (price to portion size is ludicrous, and average taste), potato artichoke soup is a thick bisque just okay. Cocktails are okay but dont really deliver for me. Mac and cheese and hush puppies were both bland and not impressive in the slightest. Pork chop was so oversalted it was completely inedible, 1 bite spit it out absolutely disgusting. To their credit they comped the item and Im giving a 3.5 star restaurant the 4 star mark. Depending upon your standards youll either be impressed or left feeling disappointed. My standards are pretty high, but when Im paying $30+/entree I think thats a fair expectation.

If you want an ongoing bill with your local dentist, do not hesitate to order the small non existent beach sand filled oysters here. The only reason why I am being so forthright about the oysters is because they advertise is not just once, but twice on their menu. Oh my gross..... Were definitely going back to Eddie Vs for now on for oysters. Bless their heart.....they tried......

The Camp Bowie strip center location doesnt really telegraph the experience you will have once inside. We found the interior comfortable and understatedly elegant, the service impeccable, and the food really extraordinary. We tried the catfish and blackened redfish, the latter recommended by our waiter, Jason, who clearly knows the menu well enough to make useful suggestions. Service was unhurried, exactly what we were looking for while sharing dinner with close friends we hadnt been able to see for several weeks. We capped the dinner with a slice (rather, slab) of hummingbird cake that we split four ways, and still left some on the plates. Altogether a great restaurant experience that we will return to again!

Nice place for a date. The atmosphere is well lit, warm, and inviting with flavorful jazz playing in the background. The seafood here has some heavy Louisiana/Cajun influence, although its certainly not exclusive to that food type. The list of cocktails and wines are rather extensive. And dont be afraid to ask for something from the bar that isnt on the menu. There were several requests from our party during dinner, and they were all accommodated with great results. The staff are very attentive and offer great recommendations. Also, some of the senior management rounded on our table twice to make sure everything was going well. Ive never been anywhere where something like that happened. Overall it was our first time there and there were no disappointments. We had the crawfish and shrimp dip and grilled oysters for appetizers, and most of us had the red fish with the rest of us getting the pasta. Everyone walked away happy and full. We will definitely be back. Give the Fitzgerald a try if youre a seafood lover, youll not be disappointed.

Easily the best oysters & hush puppies we ve ever had. Definitely order the jalapeño & cheese oysters. Mind blowing! We celebrated our anniversary here last night and while we were blown away by our appetizers we were sadly disappointed in our main course. My husband ordered the Wagyu steak and I ordered the filet mignon. We both ordered them medium and they were both over cooked. Mine only slightly over but my husbands steak came sliced and only had maybe 2 or 3 slices that were actually medium. The rest of the slices were well. For a $60 steak, we expected perfection. It still had yummy flavor, but would have been more delicious if cooked properly. We shared a side of their Mac n cheese and were blown away again by the deliciousness. They even gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Overall impressed by the Fitzgerald but left 4 stars because of the cook on our steaks.

First off, if you reviewed this place any less than four stars you just need to not review places on google. We started with the crawfish dip. It was absolutely amazing! Full of crawfish tails, flavor, and the chips were perfect for dipping. I ordered the raw 1/2 dozen oysters on the half shell. They were fresh, very fresh and flavorful. I ordered the shrimp pasta, and let me tell you, it was easily one of the best dishes I ve ever had. Full of blistered tomatoes, mushrooms, sautéed spinach and four huge grilled shrimp covered in delicious seasoning. I had to get a to go box as it was to much for one sitting. My wife ordered the Redfish plate. I tried the fish and it was amazing! She loved it all. We ordered a side of the cheese grits, they were right up there with the best I ve ever had. Now the service. We had Sha as our server. She is amazing!! I mean she was on top of it and unbelievably professional. She meets all expectations for a fine dinning server! My wife and mom finished the meal with an espresso Martini. Very good and a perfect way to finish the meal! We already plan on being back. A reminder this is fine dinning and expect to pay the price. But in all actuality for three people, a bottle of wine, three meals, two appetizers, and desert drinks I d say it was very reasonable. There is no way to complain coming here. Oh and I explored around. There is an awesome lounge/bar in the back and a nice patio as well. I know you will enjoy.

Don t go for Lunch Service. It was such a nice dining area up front but lunch was only being served in the very back bar. Super, super limited menu and staff. No hostess. I had to interrupt the bartender from conversing with a customer at the front bar, so I could figure out if I seat myself or wait for a hostess. They need to change their lunch menu displayed on their website because the lunch entree I originally planned to order wasn t offered today. They had about 6 menu items available, if I remember right. It honestly should just be Happy Hour only. I ended up getting the Gumbo. Really good flavors and full of seafood/chicken/andouille. So I definitely expected their food to be top notch, because that s all I ve heard/read about The Fitz. So great job to the chef and cooks. The last restaurant that occupied the place was Blu Crab. Really good food but really bad/inconsistent service. I hoped The Fitz would do better. The staff was nice but I felt like I was way underdressed and not expected. In a way, not really welcome. I think you shouldn t even offer Lunch service if your staff is barebones, and the menu choices are despicable. I wanted to try the Fitz at lunch because there wouldn t be a crowd, and felt more casual, but still get the Fitzgerald experience. Instead I got the backroom experience. I m not sure I ll return to try Dinner service. They should have consistent dining set up or signs that lead you back, because there is no hostess and the bartender didn t see me, while they were with a customer. It was about 4 minutes waiting to be seated/acknowledged, before I had to butt in. Better luck to you.

And luckily, she did beautifully. The service was incredible and our server Becky was attentive and very nice! And all of this wasnt even the best part.
