We came to the Fort Worth stockyards just to see the John Wayne museum. It is designed wonderfully. There are many things to see. Original costumes and props, photos, personal letters, videos to watch, huge Pontiac station wagon, so many items. Lots of neat stuff at the gift shop too. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans horses Trigger and Buttermilk along with dog Bullet are also here. We were glad to see them still being displayed after the Roy Rogers museum closed.

I see other reviews, and I feel I must have missed something. I liked John Wayne, but l thought there would more than a whole slug of pictures on the wall. The movie memorabilia was good, but nothing really grabbed me. Maybe it was the bright lighting and glass cases. I didnt stay long. Im happy for those who enjoyed it, and God Bless John Wayne!

I absolutely loved it! A first class museum and experience charting Dukes life from small town to Hollywood. I was amazed at all of the details - costumes, photos, piles of letters from adoring fans, and the capstone for me - Waynes 1969 Oscar for True Grit! A must see if you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for any Duke fan and any fan of the Old West. Highly, highly recommended!

I wish I could actually rate the museum itself. I never got a chance to even get in! In an attempt to get there, the parking is at a premium and there are no attended Lots. All lots are by credit card only and the lot I was in rejected my card even though there was no reason to. I was there early in order to be able to get in the door first, but was unable to enter the museum at all. Somewhere in the literature, there should be an explanation that parking is at a premium and what to prepare for. I should have taken a taxi or Uber or Lyft. Be forewarned.

This exhibit was well worth the entrance fee. It has iconic costumes, memorabilia, moving letters. I always wanted to meet him. When he died in 1979, I was 14 and so sad. Seeing letters and telegrams and his personal items helped me understand I was not the only one who thought he was a true man. Knowing the John Wayne Cancer Foundation funded the Round Up River Ranch which my 11 year old attended when he had cancer made it even more significant. This was very moving and I would go back. Thank you Duke for being you and an American who loved his country and his fellow man! Being near that persona was wonderful.

Let me start by saying that Im a John Wayne fan. He was (and will always be: THE MAN!) In any case, this experience is way overpriced. You dont even receive a commemorative keepsake ticket as you would at many, many other iconic, similar museums. Its nice to see the memorabilia, but Im extremely disappointed given the high cost, especially for a couple. We had an issue trying to find the entrance since it faces away from the street that most people enter from. We visited in late October 2023. Dont go to the gift shop; the price tag shock will cause your heart to stop! If John Wayne was still with us, hed be very upset as to the prices charged here, I believe. Pass on this museum as I dont recommend it to ANYONE.

The second of the John Wayne museums on this two week road trip. The first being his birthplace museum in Winterset Iowa. This museum is conveniently located in the Fort worth stock yard (a tourist meca) we spent more time at this museums than its Iowa counterpart and although it had fewer physical displays it had an abundance of pictures, storys and videos. The gift shop is small and expensive with several high end John Wayne collections such as clothing and luggage (although I had my eye on the $399 John Wayne canvas overnight bag.

Great experience! I absolutely love John Wayne and the familys effort in presenting their fathers material. Ethan Wayne was there the first time we went. The museum has a lot of outfits, facts, and memorabilia. John Wayne was an icon growing up, and Ive really enjoyed the films to this day. So, visiting this location was a must at the Fort Worth Stock Yards (I couldnt think of a better site for it either). The only minor critique is that the cashiers (often young kids) can have an attitude problem with customers. Yet, then again, most of the areas at the shops Stockyards are like this (good help is hard to find, so go figure). Other than that, its worth it for every John Wayne fan and someone looking for a cool outfit from their shop. So, grab a t-shirt, bumper sticker, ball cap, or their high-end items like a John Wayne cowboy hat and their collared shirts. I liked it and have visited the location every time weve visited the Stockyards. Its great to buy one of their cool Duke branded items to wear.

The museum itself is okay in terms of information provided. They give you a sense of ways in which John Wayne became famous and how his work ethic inspired other. But for a $22 self-guided tour, there needs to be more content. One poster says after The Green Berets released, it receives as much gratitudes as protests; it will be better to provide some examples rather than just giving descriptive messages.

If you are a fan of John Waynes films, this is a MUST visit! And if you are here on May 26, make plans to go to their John Wayne Day, celebrating his birthday. I met Patrick Wayne there!!!

One of best museums yo see: personal memorabilia, pictures, letters, costumes, Oscar award, running movies, etc. Most contributed by son. Very enjoyable found in The Stockyards area.

There is much interesting memorabilia that is not available anywhere else about the iconic actor, husband, and father. I was surprised to learn that Joseph Stalin had ordered John Wayne be assassinated, and Nikita Khrushchev demanded to meet John Wayne as a condition of his itinerary in September1959. His family manages the Experience, keeping it true to their iconic father. A Must-See.
