We love this bar and visit every time were in the area!! Last night we stopped by for a few drinks and heard a man speaking real nasty to one of the bartenders. He said some pretty rude and racist things from what we heard and judging by her face it wasnt her first rodeo!!! She handled it better than I would have... Politely asked if he was gonna order drinks or to step aside for the next guest. Shout out to her and her attitude. Its 2024!! Let people live or stay home!! Best prices and the best bartenders around!! Well see you next time!!!

Update: Still no response on the email I sent on June 13th. Update x2: Still no response and it s August 2nd. Security were power hungry and kicked out a group of 15 people because someone stuck their leg ON the fence. No warning no nothing just kicked us out and said we weren t welcome back. If I could give 0 stars I would.

We visited yesterday and had a good time except for one bartender that was rude to multiple people in our group throughout multiple interactions. She got mad at one guy tapping his card instead of inserting it and made a comment to one of my friends for making the order complicated by splitting the drinks on different tabs. After hearing it upset her to tap the card, I inserted mine which apparently was wrong and when it wasn t working she acted like I was an idiot for not reading that the card reader said slide or tap. My mistake but I feel like we re a pretty respectful group and didn t really deserve the attitude. Other than that the drinks were good and I enjoyed the atmosphere.

I had an awesome time at Second Rodeo! The vibe is super fun and laid-back, with great music and a lively crowd. It was incredibly crowded, which added to the energy. The drinks were fantastic, but bartenders were rude, really disappointing. Because of that, I wont be coming back.

It saddens me to write this type of review in 2024. My experience tonight at Second Rodeo is one that I have never experienced before. Violated, humiliated, and embarrassed are words that would describe my feelings towards the treatment that I received tonight. After 9pm the bar is 21+ until close, there is a doorman that sits at the door and checks ID s. I (who is 21) walks up to the doorman, hands him my ID and enter with no problem. My friends and I go to the bar and get our first round of drinks with no problem. We find a spot to sit a begin conversations and enjoying our drinks. We finish our first round and my friends excuse themselves to use the restroom while I save our table. They come back from the restroom with drinks in hand, so I decide to get a second round. Once at the bar, the bartender ask for my ID. I was confused since I already showed my ID to get in why it was necessary to show at the bar. Nonetheless I show the bartender my ID and he holds it under a black light. That did not satisfy him so he takes my ID to another bartender where they doubt if my ID is real or not. The bartender then hands my ID to his manager and walks back to me and tells me that he is going to take care of me as he points towards the manager. The manager tells me to follow him towards the door because they assume my ID is fake. I tell the manager that my ID is real and answer a series of questions that the manager berates me with. Since that was still not satisfactory enough, he tells me to come with him so that the doorman can check my ID. We get to the front and the same man that checked my ID earlier checked it again and said, this is 100% real. The doorman gives me back my ID and the manager follows me and says thanks for being understanding. I finally get my second round and give the bartender and manger a few choice words that would not be said on television. Overall if you are a person of color I honestly would not go there. I felt as if there was a personal vendetta against ms as soon as I walked in. The bartender and manager who I dealt with definitely have some bias towards people of color.

Hearing Kirk Holloway live on stage on a Tuesday made my day, for no cover charge. Came by the Stockyards to show some friends that were in-town for the weekend. We tried a few different flavors of wings that were wildly different than the traditional sauces which was a compliment to the beers we were drinking. The Oktoberfest was full of flavor, and I will definitely return to have more from the hidden gem. We bought a cool growler on the way out and now I have an excuse to go back for refills.

If you re under the age of 21 the review will be a 5 star for you. We were basically accosted for our IDs while we watched people jump the rail for the patio. The one pictured is the one who let the rail jumping happen. When asked about it when we were finally let in they said an unknown security guard let it happen but that he would be reprimanded which was said sarcastically. Vic was the second person to show up and literally just approve the bad behavior so if you re under the age of 21 jump the rails they won t care. If you re over the age of 21 beware they prefer minors. I also believe this behave needs to be reported to TABC so buyer beware.

My husband and I ended up at Second Rodeo at the end of a pub crawl, and we were so happy that it was our final stop. It is a fun, inviting atmosphere with lots of open space to socialize. There are so many beers to chose from but we both love their Sidewalk Flower - Lemon Cucumber Sour...especially after a hot day of walking around the Stockyards. Cheers!

We rented out Folsom Beer Hall for an event with 170 people and had a GREAT time! The staff was wonderful and the space was private but also had access to the balcony to listen to the great live music during the evening. We catered wings and nachos for our group which everyone enjoyed. Our Second Rodeo coordinator (Natalie) was amazing throughout the booking process. We highly recommend the space for any event!

We had a company event of about 60 people that was held here and it was great turnout. Ryan, the on-site manager was helpful and receptive. Natalie handles in coordinating the group events, and was detailed in her notes for the team to understand what we were needing. She is quick to respond via e-mail or text. Beautiful venue that allows plenty of space for people to meander. Loved that it has an outdoor feel in the interior spacing. Our group was placed by the Jail Cell, and that was a bit more off to the side to offer privacy from the central public area. Catered food was hot, fresh, and set on time for when our event started and people came trickling in. Food options: - Chicken nachos were great because its all separated by: chips, melted cheese, and shredded chicken. You can have this offered as a vegetarian option since the shredded chicken is placed in a separate heated unit. - Garlic parmesan & Buffalo wings - great size, were well received by our guests. Flavorful, straight protein and not loaded up o n batter/filler. - Philly cheesesteak sliders - we asked for these to be cut into halves, and even that was a generous serving portion as a nibbler. Flavorful and not dry in protein. These came with sauces in small containers on the side that were easy to grab for the guests. Overall - their team did a spectacular job and it was organized in execution, and overall friendly in service - great hospitality. Wed come again in the future. Thank you, Team!

We had our wedding weekend welcome party here and couldnt have had a better time! They were professional and easy to work with, and make the night so smooth and easy for us. We booked the outdoor patio which had plenty of room for all of our guests to enjoy, but we were also able to go inside if needed. The drinks were great and the service was even better. Went here on a random Tuesday afternoon and was surprised to see that they had live music! It wasnt super crowded (it was the middle of the day in the middle of the week) but has plenty of seating inside and out for people to enjoy. Their food menu wasnt super expansive, but was still tasty. I would say that their main focus is on drinks and ambiance, which they nail. Their IPA was pretty good overall. Luckily there is a lot of shade for their outdoor seating, which will come in handy during the SWELTERING Texas summers. Overall, it was very relaxed and everyone was really friendly. Definitely has touristy vibes, but I secretly love being a tourist in my own city sometimes so I loved this. Will definitely be back and try out some different drinks when its busier.

I was there for a sponsored event, so it was a little different then just going on my own, but the live band was great and the atmosphere was excellent, relaxed and down to earth. Nothing in this place matched (which was cool), a mix of lawn chairs and other unique tables and places to sit. Just a cool place to unwind that is for sure. Mid food. The bartender didn t ID any of us, and served us alcohol but then some lady came and got mad at my friend for having her HUSBANDS drink infront of her. My friend didn t have her ID on her, but was not even drinking. Continued to watch us like hawks. It was so uncomfortable. So Ridiculous. Scared to lose your alcohol license? Maybe consider making your bartenders ID. Good Luck explaining that to TABC.

We went with some friends last night. They have been before but it was our first time checking it out. We had so much fun! Great music, nachos were very tasty and the drink menu is very good and not too pricey! We had green beer which is made with their blonde house beer and I loved it! We also tried several of their whiskeys and vodka. We ended up buying a couple to bring home with us. My fiancé loved it so much he even bought a TShirt. We can t wait to go back again. Didn t even make our way into the bar simply because our group was having a great time and celebrating my wedding and they would not let us in, because we could not contain ourselves in line. If you are the SLIGHTEST bit tipsy they will not let you in. I do not recommend if you have already been drinking. Their manager is a killjoy, and hates to see anyone enjoy themselves. My group was a bit excited and loud I will admit however, we are in the stockyards for the first time and it is a Saturday night!!! Who wouldn t be excited?? Vibe was fantastic, love the atmosphere. Decor inside and outwas welcoming and fun. Drinks were really tasty and the bartenders were cool. We got the wings, didnt love. Skin was rubbery and the two flavors we tried (pineapple sriracha and fire in the hole) were pretty disappointing. We ended up not finishing them and going elsewhere for wings later. Maybe the sandwiches are better? But a fantastic and fun place for drinks and to gather with friends. Will be back!

An indoor portion thats kind of dark and typical bar, 2 floors. Then an intermediate indoor-outdoor part...my favorite part.. (technically enclosed but has a movable window roof and huge wall windows that open) full of lawn chairs, picnic tables and tables in truck beds on faux grass. This area has a stage with live music. Beyond that an unenclosed outdoor patio with a mini food truck and heaters. Full table service at the inside part plus a bar. The backyard truck stop part you have 2 windows with varying options you walk up to then pick up your food when its ready and a bar. Lots of beers and cocktails to choose from. Vegetarian options: Sandwiches with mixed grilled veggies.

Good place to visit. Enclosed area with live music was good for groups. Good selection of brews. Good wings and nachos. Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly!! Comfortable atmosphere.

Not a college kid here. Did you really have a to escort us with 8 bouncers because a member of our party had an allergic reaction after being on antibiotics for 2 weeks? How pathetic does your lives have to be that you feel the necessity to flash your muscle when a teacher is politely throwing up on a corner to avoid a scene, that you have to make it a scene? Honestly, we are WAY above y all paygrade. No worries, we ll take our Panamanian and Puerto Rican millionaire friends somewhere else with a lot more class

First time in a few weeks ago and how fun! The environment has a variety of seating, a bit close but it happens. We had loaded nachos and the Mojo wings which both were phenomenal! Service was excellent and upbeat.

Fun place with a couple of options for good food along with your drinks. They have a stage for a live band as well if your timing is right. Big space accommodates lots of people, although the tables are really close together so theres a fair amount of sqeezing by.

I would come here again and again! They were super quick with the wings and fries. I liked the ranch it tasted homemade. My cocktail took 30 seconds, even on a busy Friday night. Also their price points for the liquor drinks is about $9-$12 which makes me happy. Top it off with the live music and we were all smiles

Food was bland and overpriced. Beer was just ok and ridiculously overpriced. It s all serve yourself, one window for food, another for fries, and then drinks at a bar. Bartenders are not friendly or attentive. Not a pleasant experience.
