Gladney is a wonderful organization. They help so many people become families, and they help so many mothers when they are unable to parent themselves. Gladney takes such good care of both parties involved. When I was a bedside nurse, I witnessed firsthand how compassionate they are with everyone involved. They are truly very kind, caring people with everyones best interests at heart.

I am a gladney baby, 1 of 7 adopted in the year 2001. I am Ekaterina Boucher and my siblings are Nick Boucher, Sergie Boucher, Tatiana Boucher, Dmitri Boucher, Peter Boucher, Mikhail Boucher. Gladney has failed me and my family. My mother Lisa Boucher has now passed away. And me and my siblings are suffering to retain our documents, we are now all in our late 20s and some of us are unable to get an ID or a drivers license because the Gladney system has failed in giving us the proper documents we need to become citizens. No well fair checks were ever conducted and now we all suffer here with trauma and no documents. This company only cares about the MONEY and not the children. Gladney you failed us all miserably. DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE. GLADNEY WILL FAIL YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN.

Pay attention to those who take the time to warn you about this place: This adoption center barely checks up on the kids they kidnap from their home country, they only care about profit. My boyfriend was adopted through this MAFIA organization and it has cost him greatly, his adoptive parents (or should I called them captors?) didn t complete the naturalization process for him so now he could face deportation since he isn t an American citizen and there s nothing this organization can do for him, shame on them for not checking up on the kids they give away and they profit from as if they were dealing with simple animals not human beings. Currently working on a lawsuit, don t let other kids go through this.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Gladney Center! Kerry and Elizabeth came to speak to my Child Development courses this Spring and did an amazing job educating my students on the adoption process. Their presentation was so impactful I had one of my students write about it for their final essay in my course! As a bonus, Gladney has a new AdoptED virtual program! I utilized the Kinship Adoption course as an extension activity and it was wonderful. The course was self paced, informative, and teacher friendly as it let me monitor students progress for grading.

This will be a different type of review than normal. I was adopted from Edna Gladney back in 1983 to two amazing parents. They did a great job screening them and found a perfect fit for me. I was about 3 weeks old at the time. Downside is they lost a letter that was meant to be delivered to me on my 21st bday from my birth mother. I did end up receiving it a few years later . I appreciate the people working there and the mothers who put their children up for adoption, if they cant take care of them

My husband and I are currently in the process of adopting, and we cannot express how grateful we are for the incredible support weve received from the Gladney Center for Adoption. From the very beginning, their team has been nothing short of amazing. The staff at Gladney has not only answered every question weve had but has also walked with us through every step and process of our adoption journey. Their dedication to providing comprehensive support has made our home study process and beyond smooth and stress-free. What sets Gladney apart is not just their expertise but also the genuine care and compassion they bring to each interaction. Its evident that they are not just professionals but individuals who are passionate about helping families come together through adoption. If you are considering adoption, I wholeheartedly recommend going through Gladney. Their commitment to guiding families, paired with their extensive knowledge, has made our experience truly positive. We feel confident and supported, knowing that we have chosen an agency that truly cares about the well-being of both adoptive parents and the children they help bring into loving homes. Thank you, Gladney Center for Adoption, for being an invaluable part of our adoption journey. honestly, I will give an honest review. It seems like you have to undergo a second background check if you are from a different state which is 28 years background check in my case. The problem is that they ask you for information in parts rather than asking for the correct information from the beginning and then they expect you to remember addresses that you cant remember as a child when you were not even a teen yet. Additionally, you end up speaking to someone new almost every time new information is asked. I understand that a background process has to be done but please be organized. Ask for the correct information the first time around and stay with as few different people as possible sending emails rather than having multiple people asking the same questions in different parts. Everything feels very disorganized and there seems to be miscommunication in the agency. This can also foreshadow things to come. Punctuality and organization can tell you everything about a company. As a veteran of the US military and an individual that has worked in other government agencies, I have undergone this process multiple times. my review may change later on as I continue the process, but I am starting to feel as if I am being given misinformation and the process is delayed because people are asking for part of the information needed rather than the full information. I also encourage future or current parents to write honest reviews rather than only good reviews for fear of not being given the chance to adopt a child because of your opinion.

In 2013, Gladney allowed and WELCOMED prospective adoptive families, who were only open to semi-open adoptions, however, would have never disclosed that to expectant parents. I learned only later years, when exploring having more openness in my own adoption, that the family I chose to adopt my daughter were only ever comfortable with semi- open, meaning never any direct contact or visits. That s before ever meeting or knowing the child s birth family and the child. My experience as a social worker and having now worked years in the adoption community, I see how NON-child centered this is and was. I respect my daughters parents but feel they to were poorly educated on the adoptee experience and what a lack of openness may leave them feeling. I ve now learned that Gladney has asked the prospective adoptive parents to be open to at least 1 visit a year post placement, if safety allows. I m a successful, mature and healthy young women and was never told at 22 that I may want more openness later and I should know the family I m choosing may not be open to that. Truth is they are not. I sincerely hope Gladney is doing better and putting adoptees first!! It s not even about me. I see educators and happy adoptive families leaving gleaming reviews, with little successful birth mother stories. Except the ones they use to get their agenda across. Do better to educate all triads of the adoption community! I m here to say this, so that all parties will find their voice, all all the questions and speak their truth. Respectfully

Gladney made an overwhelming process seem manageable and they took care of everything! We picked Gladney after reviewing and talking to multiple agencies. We live in Oregon and so picking an out of state agency felt like a risk but the second we stepped foot on campus for orientation, we knew we made the right choice. They were organized, professional, understanding of families situations, full of knowledge about the process, full of experts to help us through the process, and most importantly... transparent about costs, about timing, about what a roller coaster adoption can be. Orientation talked about financial aspects (costs, assistance, timing), had a birth mother panel, and a family who had recently adopted and I loved that they talked realistically about expectations and had birth moms on the panel who had a range of feelings about their experiences. We felt prepared and aware of what the process could look like, they minimized the unknowns and answered all questions we had (and there were a lot!). If youre reading this, I urge you to take the step of just reaching out to them... and if you want to know more about our process, ask Gladney for our email (Liz and Pat) and Ill gladly share more of the process with you!

We loved our time with Gladney. I can remember every little step of our journey. They prepare you for that and I appreciate them for it. My husband and I had been through so much by the time we walked through the doors of Gladney that it was refreshing to know that they were there to walk the rest of the way with us. We had the most AMAZING caseworker, Ashley J.. She made us feel so comfortable from the moment we met her. That is very important while going through this process. You may be with your caseworker for a while or just a few months but either way, you need to be comfortable with them and we were. We LOVED her and knew that she was going to help us become parents. We got so lucky, we not only became parents, we gained a family. Our Birth Mother and her family became an extension of ours. This is rare but we couldnt imagine it anyother way and are so thankful they chose us and are still loving us as we all grow together. We are so thankful for Gladney and Ashley and all that they have done for our family. If you are thinking of choosing them, go visit, tour the grounds, it is an amazing campus and it s wonderful to see all they offer. There s so much for the Birth Mothers if they need it post adoption. I promise you will not regret it and be sure to take your tissues!

When my wife and I began searching for an adoption agency, Gladney immediately put us at ease. With decades of experience and a commitment to an inclusive agency culture for LGBTQ+ families, we really didnt have to look much further once we found them. They supported us through every step of the (long) process and the (even longer) wait. They were caring, understanding, and exceptionally proficient along the way. When the time came for us to be matched with a birth mom, it was exciting and scary. But knowing that we had Gladney guiding us along the way put us at ease. Not to mention, Gladneys commitment to caring for birth moms is something that really attracted us to the agency. A woman you dont know is making the decision to allow you to parent the child she carried for 9 months. Gladney takes that very seriously, guides adoptive parents on how to do the same, and give each birth mom lifetime support. Thats exactly the way it should be. HUGE shoutout to Lauren Dillion- she was our case worker and dealt with my impatience with waiting. She was awesome to work with and we consider her part of the family. Second shoutout to Vicki Carter- when it came to navigating all of the paperwork and processes on the back end, she was my very best friend. Every single person at Gladney is dedicated to building families and helping women who make an adoption plan for themselves and their expected child. I highly recommend them to anyone considering adoption! Thank you Gladney! (Am I crying at the conclusion of this review? MAYBE. Dont judge me!)

We went through a process as a family to better understand who we were, the real why behind our desire to adopt, and have honest discussions around what our family was open to when considering the child we would invite into our family. About 1 year from the time we were active in the adoption process we were able to add a beautiful baby girl into our family. We continue to reinforce the love her belly momma had for her, continue to give updates to her belly momma, and schedule in person visits. It is awesome to have the opportunity to share the whole story of our baby girl with her. Thank you Gladney for making this possible!

Our caseworkers were great in answering questions as quickly as they were able to. They were very open with us about how the process would work, especially with our history of loss. When we were matched, our caseworker was great in helping us stay level headed while also maintaining that excitement that comes with it. She helped us prepare for meeting our birth mother as well as conversation points to help us have a good meeting with her. I can t speak enough about adoption it s a selfless act for a mother wanting their child to have a better life. I was given so many things in life that I wouldn t of had if I had not been adopted! Thank you gladney for everything that you do

I went through Gladney 2 different times. I had a son in 1991. I was only 16 and they kept every word. I got my pictures and upates. My parents then were the bigger influence on the adoption. Inread all these horror stories.. NOT TRUE. Then again i got pregnant in 2006. This time in my life i had 3 children youngest being 4 months old. I was terrified. I had my last yr of college, single and kids. Wait.. It gets better. I go for my sono and it was TWINS!! Gladney was amazing. Huge difference is they let me make all the choices, no pressire, being high risk they mived me and my children next to hosipital. They took such good care of me and my children. My ooen adoption is just that. My parents for our twins are a God send. Glafney has on both adoptions anytime i found we had medical issues they had one of the adoptive Rob & Renee and same with my son Jason in 91s adoptive parents within the day contact me. I have 9 yrs ago reunited with my son from 81 Jason. Gladney had us do a couple sessions individually prior to meeting. But as soon as i added my name to the registey in a week i had a letter stating my son was looking also. Then we sent letter to Gladney with pictures. Then we wrote after our councling they revealed address and phone number to both of us. Cait was a call i couldnt as he couldnt talk through, i spoke with his parents. Then that weekend he was in my arms.. Amazing. I also with twins 2006 get any pics updateson first request and in a very timely manner. The ones speaking vile. Im sorry. I have lived it at 15 and 32 and they were Amazing, accommodating, my case worker slept with me when i was sick and put in the hosipital. Holly isnt there anymore but Truly a God Send ..Both times.. Both experiences.. Thank you. The Blessed Birthmom

Hello!!! My name is Connie. I just wanted to leave a few words about my experience with this place. Its now 2020, so when I was there it seems to have been different. I was a resident for the last few months of my pregnancy. I have to say it was the best decision I couldve made. I was 18 and knew I wasnt ready to be a mom. The process then was amazing. Very caring people and I left there knowing my son was in good hands. There is just one thing. We were told a file would always be there for us in case our babies ever wanted to locate us. My baby would be 32 this December. So I am leaving my email just in case anyone wants to contact me. Thank you again Edna Gladney for being a light in a dark time. [email protected]

Just finished watching a live seminar about Grief & Depression. They appear to be easy topics externally, but having a professional take the time to delve deeper & hearing that how feeling/grief/ambiguous grief require time and processing is awesome.

Honestly such a wonderful place. Everyone here was so welcoming and helpful. My pre adoption case worker was AMAZING. She made me feel so comfortable and supported the whole process even checked in post adoption. Everyone is very professional and kind. Never once did I feel judged or shamed. The post adoption groups with other moms are so welcoming and supportive. Found the most amazing family who went and continue to go above and beyond communication wise. 10/10 recommended

Birthmothers - Please read the reviews of Gladney here and everywhere. Please do ANYTHING to keep your child. Do not let a temporary situation (perhaps lack of resources or support) turn into a long-term, permanent solution (losing your child and your child being separated and raised by someone other than their mother). Please read the academic research about the trauma suffered by the majority of birthmothers after placing their children and the long-term effects of adoption on children. I am a Gladney baby (1968) and a Gladney birthmother (1986). Gladney does not care in any way, shape or form about you as an adoptee or a birthmother. Their interest lies only with the adoptive parent$$, who are their revenue source. They will lie to you about everything - every aspect of information regarding birth parents, your birth child and please note that open adoptions can not be enforced and can be closed at any time. I am a reunited adoptee and reunited birthmother - with NO THANKS to Gladney. They lied to me and my adoptive parents about my birthparent and they told me ANOTHER MAN was my birthson, leading to me being in reunion with the WRONG PERSON for 14 years. A DNA test proved it was someone else. Despite having written letters to him his whole life, sent gifts (which were returned by Gladney) and SIGNED THE REUNION REGISTRY, they told my real birth son that his parents were not interested in meeting him, ESPECIALLY THE MOTHER when he came to look for me! He left heartbroken. At that time, I had been in reunion with the WRONG man for almost four years, thanks to Gladney. They are GARBAGE to be avoided at all costs. Please PLEASE keep your children.

I am proud to be a Gladney baby and am lucky enough to have the opportunity to be an intern at Gladney. Everyone I work with or have encountered has been welcoming with open arms. Gladney truly does want the best for everyone involved in the adoption process.

I am glad we fought the baby mill and got my step daughter back. They promise open adoption and then systematically gather evidence to close it. Case workers appear to have conflict of inerest, please Gladney and get paid or protect the birth mother.

I strongly wish I could give gladney a zero star rating. I am a product of gladney. When I say product I mean it. They think of babies as a way to make money. They are greedy and are not helpful at the least in post adoptive issues with adoptive families and the babies adopted. They did not do enough research into who they had placed me with nor did they care. Abusive adoptive parents? Your overreacting. I definitely was not! Do not ever use them. Take it from the person who was sold through gladney. Complete sorry excuse for an adoption agency.

Ive been trying to get in touch with this place for two months. They never return voicemails or emails. We have filled out all of our paperwork. When I call to check in they ask if you have a child for adoption or prospective parent. Once you say parent you get transfered to a voicemail where you should not even bother leaving a VM. As a prospective parent this is very concerning. Communication is very important in the adoption process and this company severely lacks. I can only hope they treat their mamas giving up their child for adoption better!
