I visited this restaurant to celebrate Fathers Day and had a really ruined day. Food was ok. I want to start by saying this up front. Nothing special, just another ordinary sushi restaurant. Service seems to be the biggest problem here. Even though it was an ALL YOU CAN EAT, we were only able to order twice for six people. Once we placed orders, had to wait for 40 minutes. We all ended up losing our appetite while waiting for food. It was not like this place was busy, only three tables including us. The servers response was truly amazing when we presented the problem. She just said they were working on it without any apology or understanding. All she said was another table ordered first so just wait. Then no further response. There were only three tables including us. One table with party of two and the others with party of three. Even though I told them we had been waiting for 40 minutes already, there was no further reaction. Then same thing happened to our second order as well. Another 40 minutes of wait. I fully understand that there may be a lack of manpower or any problems that may arise at a restaurant. However, that is a problem that must be solved by the owners ingenuity. Overall, even though it wasnt a very expensive buffet, I think it was the first time I thought it was a waste of money. I think this restaurant really needs to pay more attention to employee training. Will never visit place again.

Highly recommend Sushi Damu in Flower Mound if you are looking for good quality AYCE sushi. Their raw stuffs are so fresh specially squid. I ve tried squid sushi from many places, but squid here is better as it s fresh, tasty, and not dry. Sushi rice has good quality too. It s well-cooked, soft, not dry like other AYCE sushi. Plus rice portion is small. Their sushi rolls are tasty. I would recommend house salad, Ikura, scallop and seared salmon sushi as well as low-carb and spider roll.

Great all-you-can-eat option here. You can also order individual rolls or sashimi if youd like. The sushi is fresh and delicious. To me, the individual rolls can be a bit pricy, but if youre a big eater and sushi lover like I am, the all you can eat is definitely a bargain at $31 a person. The only issue we had was the noise. We went on a Sunday night, and they were very crowded with a much younger group of customers. The four young men at the table behind us started playing drums with their chopsticks on the table and banging loudly while they were waiting for their food. Im sure this was probably just a one-off, and maybe well come back during the week. Its definitely worth it!

I was very disappointed with my last visit. I actually couldnt have lunch because I got there around 1:45 and the waiter told me the kitchen closes at 2:30 and they couldnt do the all you can eat. What a bummer. So get there early if you want AYCE. Before that, I was with my family for lunch and they automatically added 18% gratuity for a group of 5. I usually see this kind of gratuity for a group of 6+. So be prepared for $30+ for tip if you are in a group. Regarding the all-you-can-eat experience, my understanding was that you could have 3 rounds with 4 orders per person. However, the All you can eat rules state unlimited rounds. While most people may be satisfied after round 2, its worth noting that if you surpass round 3, its unclear if theyll offer you another form. One additional suggestion is to include sashimi in the premium sushi price. So long story short, food is great, service not great.

First time coming to this place and had a bad experience with the chef. Apparently they have a promotion that you can pick 4 things up to 3 rounds for $31 but when were eating the first round, I took some rice of the rolls aside, as I don t eat so much starch. The chef came to my table and told me that I had to eat all the rice left on the plate because we were wasting the rice, which I thought was very rude since I couldnt enjoy my meal anymore. We then order the low carb sushi which we don t recommended. It was bad but we was afraid to left it . Other than that the waiters/servers were very friendly and polite. Cuddles for those guys. Next time they need to explained that you need to eat everything in the plate before offering the promotion. What if we don t like what we order . I feel like we were force to eat everything regardless. We will not coming back again.

Bad Service I came into town to visit my boyfriend and decided to try a new sushi place. I picked this in specifically since they offered gluten free options for my allergy. We had two servers help us and I will refer to them as server 1 and server 2. Right when we walked in we were seated with no wait and server 1 even took our umbrella to put aside which I thought was sweet. I ordered a California roll with cream cheese and cucumber and a side of white rice with server 2. When it was brought out I noticed no cucumber so I informed server 2 and he insisted it had cucumber even after inspecting the roll and clearly seeing no cucumber in site and then walked away. I opened up the roll anyways to check just incase he was right and found no cucumber so I called server 2 over and he took the plate back to the kitchen. I even found a hair when I inspected the roll but I didn t want to complain more cause I felt bad so I didn t mention it. I assumed they were gonna make a new roll but he brought back the same plate and added two thick slices of cucumber on top of each roll of sushi. Even making the effort of assembling back the sushi roll I took apart to inspect. I found it a bit lazy that they just added it as a topping instead of inside like I originally asked for and the server made it seem like I was the problem for asking for my order like I ordered it. I was able to get help with server 1 who did get the sushi chef to make me a new roll which I appreciate it and he even apologized which wasn t necessary since it wasn t his fault. But it seemed like the staff tried to avoid us after this. They had left the original roll at the table so I thought maybe I can take it home and give it to my boyfriends dad (minus the roll with the hair in it) for lunch the next day but when we asked for a box the waiter turned it down and said they didn t add this roll to our bill so they were taking it back. I didn t mind but thought it was wasteful and unsanitary of them to take back a roll that I touched and possibly throw it out. We then felt rushed to leave after the server brought our ticket without us asking and it seemed like they were ready to get rid of us. On top of this my boyfriend and I never got our side of white rice that we both ordered but at this point I didn t want to deal with something else and was ready to leave. The food was good but the service of some of the staff give off that they don t want to work there and dont give good customer. I felt like I was painted as a hard customer or even a Karen for saying something that was their mistake. The actions that followed after should have been handled differently and it overall ruined what was suppose to be a nice dinner date with my boyfriend. I noticed that other customers got better service than us so I don t know if maybe since my boyfriend and I are in the younger side (both 20 but have baby faces so we get a lot of you look 17-18 years old) that they could take advantage of us.

If youre a new customer, just ask the staff to explain the ordering process. Its not that complicated, but they do have some policies that you will want to make sure you understand. The Langostino Lobster item is delicious, as is the Rainbow Roll. Theres a lot to choose from so its a great place to experiment and experience.

Usually amazing food and service. Must have been an off night. Walked in and was not greeted for close to 10 minutes. Waiter got our drinks but took his time to get us the all you can eat sushi paper. He must have liked the table in front of us because he went to their table like 4 times before he came to ours again. I had to ask him for the paper to start our order, but he was more interested in cleaning up other tables that had no customers than attending to the ones actually in the seats. Luckily we got the 2 other waitresses with him to help us so we could actually get refills on our food and drinks. 2nd order was almost completely wrong and pretty sure they gave us another tables order. When bringing it to the waiter s attention he just said that is what we ordered. He seemed like we were making his life very difficult as he went to go retrieve the paper to see what we actually ordered vs what we got . Could see it on his face that they messed up the order and he tried giving us complementary ice cream. $30 per person for 3 people and had 2 rounds and 1 of the rounds wasn t even what we ordered but yeah I guess ice cream would fix it usually I let things like this go and just move on, but from the very start there was nonexistent service and then the whole mixup of food made this night a waste.

I left feeling taken advantage of by the staff and felt ill after literally will not be eating sushi for a while. I said we wanted 3 rolls ($45) I was told I needed to order 8. Bill was over $100, 4 rolls were not good. Then charged for pieces we didn t eat OR want to order. Is the suppose to be an UPSale? Place has good reviews so maybe bad choices in what we picked but last $120 they get from me.

I get that ACYE restaurants usually have lower quality food. However, this place uses ingredients that are old. We ordered a cucumber roll and the cucumber was bad. Yellowtail was old and gross. Salmon had almost no flavor. And some of our rolls were very salty, which is something I ve never experienced at another sushi restaurant. I m assuming it s an attempt to add more flavor to them. And on top of that, our server, Mandoo, kept forgetting about us. My wife and I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, we ll never be back.

The food is wonderful but the service is terrible. I went once never to return. They were mocked at all times. It felt like they were doing us a favor. I arrived at the restaurant a little before 9 and 9:50 as they wanted to collect the leftover food, as we were still eating. They didnt do it once, they did it twice. They were extremely rude. At no time were we informed that there was a time limit for making our meal. This is absurd to let us into the restaurant but with a few minutes left before closing, they want to kick us out. Worst of all was the mocking tone informing us that we would be charged for what was left since, ONCE AGAIN, WE WERE EATING. The problem wasnt even the fact that we paid what was left, which is why we didnt even care if there was any leftovers, but the fact that WE WERE STILL EATING! It was basically one: you can stop eating, and Ill charge you extra for that, so I can leave. Disrespectful, rude, arrogant from staff to manager.

Im so glad we decided to come here. We were greeted at the door and shown a table. Waiter had great sense of humor as we were asking about AYCE and details. Got it figured out. Nice selection of rice free rolls and all nigiri was of great quality (not huge pieces of rice and skimpy fish). Fish was fresh and tasty. Other rolls were good too and I liked the smaller portions as you can try several without getting stuffed. Very attentive service and we feel it was a great place to go to again. The downside (why 4/5 stars) is as others have said, the spicy tuna, crab mush was just that - mush. Really lacked flavor too - I mean no spice too... Id just avoid those rolls in the future.

And while I never have high expectations for hot sake, the sake here was really rough. Pass on the sake and grab a glass of wine instead.

The customer service is sub normal. Wrong food was in Togo. My favorite menu Ahi Tower is worst in DFW. there are a lot of rice and just a few pieces of tuna.

Overpriced simply because every roll is LOADED with their krab (fake crab). They put barely any fish and mainly just fake crab lol. You spend 60 bucks for 2 people on sushi worth like 5 bucks for 4 pieces. Go to kura revolving sushi instead its much fresher. The scallops here tasted so bad definitely not fresh. Disappointed:(

coming from two servers, i would say the service that we got today was absolutely awful. i wish i got the servers name but as soon as we walked in he didnt even greet us or say anything he just moved his head to motion us to a booth on the side. ive been to a sushi damu before in frisco and you could chose the option to do all you can eat or not. i told him we didnt want to do the all you can eat and he was short with me and said we didnt do that today asked us what rolls we wanted when we havent even looked at the menu. we were just looking at the menu as he stood there waiting, not even offering to give us a drink or anything. i told him well can we have a few minutes and can we get some water? theres so many different things that he couldve said instead of being incredibly short with us and im not sure if hes had a bad day or not but in the customer service industry thats no excuse. the service was so bad to the point it made me and my friend so uncomfortable we just left. if i could left less than 1 star i would.

I went here November 25, 2022 and I was a bit disappointed. The food was good but the prices compared to the food I feel was unreasonable. I spent $6 for 2 pieces of sushi. I found it disappointing that I spent that six for just two. I do not know the full story for why it is this way, but if you are looking to eat here, expect to eat little but pay for double (or more) for your meal. Dont get me wrong the food is good. It is just not worth the price

Sushi Damu for being a chain restaurant offers a cute atmosphere where everyone would feel welcome. The pop of color that is intentional to match throughout the entire place including the bathroom. We were quickly seated and the wait staff was quick to take drink orders. After looking over the menu I found myself ready to order 6 or 7 plates of food to check out a variety of items they had to offer. I was surprised that appetizers that we ordered were the last to arrive to the table, very last item was a side salad. All sauces were pretty standard to most sushi places but their season salad dressing was a delight with no overpowering sesame oil, just subtle as it should be. Vegetable tempura, batter what pretty much perfect with the exception of a GIANT piece of broccoli about the size of a toddler fist, producing a completely raw brassica and doughy batter since it was much bigger than the rest of the variety of veggies. The sushi rolls were cut to a perfect size, as no one likes a roll cut into huge pieces where you have to dislocate your jaw to eat.. the rolls had a perfect ratio to filling/rice and not too much sauce on them to take away from the other ingredients, which I apperciate and bow with respect. My real only complaint was the tempura shrimp or what they called tempura. These arrived to the table and I was confused immediately. The shrimp had nothing to do with tempura but instead they were breaded and glistening with grease. It was like I was sitting down at a steak house and ordered breaded shrimp but no cocktail suace to go with it. There is a huge difference, tempura is a light thin coating not taking anything away from the main star. It was almost like these were pulled from a freezer bag, but I will never know. When I asked staff about this, I was told this is tempura... hmmm... as I pondered my entire culinary education and experience. In no way do I want the tempura shrimp to take away from all round good food this place has to offer.

They shouldve paid for my food. It wasnt and busy and I spent 40 minutes just sitting and waiting. The waiter was actively inattentive. The fish was not fresh. For what I paid I expect a high level of service. I waited 20 minutes after he took the last plate, to get the check. I shouldve walked out after it took 15 minutes. To get my order placed. Part of my order was not provided. Wont be back

My husband ordered saki and after we paid and he took the last drink there were maggots in the bottom of the drink, I guess they didnt clean out the saki jar good enough. That is the worst thing you can have happen in my opinion. So at the beginning they told us about the all you can eat, so I ordered that, the pictures are of small pieces and when you order it each piece was stuffed with imitation crab meat as big as a golf ball....literally, therefore if you dont eat it they charge you a $1 per piece you dont eat. And the rolls you order look nothing like the menu, because its not..... it straight up BS. Food was low quality fish, not great service, and maggots...... I will never be back and just by the games they play with stuffing their sushi with cheap crab to fill you up. No thanks.

I m absolutely disappointed. The food was expensive for the quality. The water smelt like fish it was a really heavy smell too. My grandma ordered some type of coconut shrimp roll. As soon as she bit into is she spat it out. She said it tasted like fish. Keep in mine this was a shrimp roll. You can tell the food was not fresh and cheap quality.

One of the top sushi restaurants to go to. They have several price combos to include all you can eat sushi. Everything is made fresh and is delicious. Love that they have large variety to include low carb rolls - because what is better than delicious sushi, delicious sushi wrapped in another piece of delicious fish. Have tried multiple dishes during different visits to include their entree dishes and have not experienced one bad dish. Additionally, the customer service is phenomenal. The staff are always professional, welcoming, and attentive.

Wow Im so excited about having found this place. They have so many riceless options where you feel like you are cheating on your diet without really cheating. Theyre Sushi pieces have small balls of rice as opposed to other places doing all you can eat. This is by far one of the best Ive ever had. Everything was artful, beautiful, and supremely delicious. Just because you can only order four at a time doesnt mean anything... I thought I would be annoyed because it was slow me down but honestly it didnt. I swear I ate a hole aquarium worth of fish, maybe even a whole lake. You can have more than the three orders it says on the sheet, but I was super full and couldnt do it. Ill definitely be back.
