Weve dined here a few times and Ive always enjoyed the food. Im not a Filipino food expert, but my wife has more experience and she really likes it here. We ordered Pancit Bihon (noodles), Chicken Curry, Grilled Chicken, Kare Kare (oxtail). Located inside Asia Times Square original food court by Hong Kong Market. CASH only.

Almost like home! Thank you! This was my first visit, but not my last. First, Asia Times is unlike some other Asian Shopping Blocks because the Parking lot is sane and the area is not congested. Walking into the Hong Kong Building, the individual shops/restaurants are arranged well. Once I found Cocina Elena, I found my favorite foods from being home with memories of mom cooking. So I ordered the Adobo with rice and an order of Lumpia. All was just as delicious almost like I was visiting Mom. Thank you to the staff of Cocina Elena for a delicious trip to memory lane. This was my first trip, but not my last.

This place used to be a good place to eat and was serving in generous portions. Those days are over. And the cashier(s) wear the same pair of gloves they used for counting cash (they accept cash only) and for serving. Unsanitary!

Several choices of ulam. The turo-turo choices are: a plate with one ulam and steamed rice, or 2 different ulam, or 3 different ulam. We went Saturday morning, had brunch and the turo- turo choices were langgonisa, tinola, laing, sarsiadong isda, porkstek, and I believe na estrelyadong mga gulay. Theres also the short order breakfast menu option: either langgonisa, bangus, tapa, tocino, tuyo, corned beef, spam, and each plate comes with steamed rice ( not fried rice), sunnyside up egg, and atsara. My mom enjoyed the sagot gulaman drink. Theres also Taho. I would recommend eating here and come early before they run out of ulam! They open at 1030am. CASH ONLY.

Terrible! I don t usually do a review but I felt compelled to do one for obvious reasons. I ordered 2 sisig dish and could not even eat them because the meat used is poor quality and I don t even know what or why they used a sauce that has hints of mayonnaise. Meat was more like tendons and fat, and for some reason liver was in there. Waste of $30. And yes, I am full Filipino born and raised there.

Friendly cashier. Did the turo turo 2 item with rice. Got the sisig (left) and mechado (right). If you eat the food along without mixing it into the rice, flavor will be overpowering. Mix it into the rice. I liked the mechado more than the sisig. Good meat and sauce. Sisig here was a bit more unique, had a slimier texture i think because of the mayo. Also, I came later in the day so it wasn t crispy.

Everytime I come here its hit or miss. I really want to give this place a chance for redemption. I love mom and pops fast food Filipino. There are times when the entrees they have are delicious and other times, Im questioning if the cook was replaced by another Auntie or Lola?!? Someone please give back their magical wooden spoon to cook because Im worried flavor town Manila has left the building and some Texan effect has changed the whole concept of Filipino home cooking. Im going to try one more time. Please Filipino gods give this place some flavor blessings by the time I go back.

I ve been wanting to go to Cocina Elena ever since I found it online cuz of its great reviews. Let me just say, it s very well-deserved. Took my mom and aunt to try it as well and everything was AMAZING!!! Can t say enough good things about this place and the three of us completely demolished an entire pan of the cassava lol. All freshly baked items are so worth getting, especially if you catch them while still warm! Best time to go is peak lunch or even earlier before things start selling out. All types of pancit are available all day, as well as their breakfast. Don t even bother going to another Filipino spot and FORGET about Jollibee! Cocina Elena is the place to be!!! Already can t wait to go back for more!

This was our second attempt coming here, the first they were closed for about a month. The cashier/server was very friendly. I wanted some chicken adobo but they ran out. So we got some lechon, pork bbq skewer, and chicken in a red tomato base sauce. The lechon was good but the crispiness was more hard than a crunch, the bbq skewer was served cold, and the chicken in red sauce was quite oily and didnt have much meat on the chicken and not much veggies. We also had lumpia which were mini but there was plenty, it had a good crunch but the filling was okay. Not the best Filipino place but not the worst.
