They should change their published hours of operation. Says they open at 8am. Have been by here 4 different times between 8-8:15am for a breakfast taco and only once could I get one as the other 3 times I ve been told hey aren t yet open and it will be 10-15 more minutes. Food is good but availability for breakfast is questionable.

Valeries breakfast burritos are made with the best homemade-tasting flour tortilla! They are humongous and their salsa bar makes it even tastier. And sometimes, if youre rreeeeaaallly lucky, you get a very nice serenade, as well. We are fans!

My cousin went There yesterday with her kid, and she was really pleased with their food her kid had a pesadilla but My point is that when she was leaving, her kid wanted a toy from the machine and she could not get any so her kid didnt stop crying and the cashier was cleaning the tables so he took 1 dollar from his pocket and got a toy and gave it to the kid, he went quickly to my cousins car that was parked in front of valeries, she really was happy seeing her kid happy as he was crying a lot. I am a regular customer to this great taco place but will be no longer after the lack of service I got my this week. I placed a pick up order that over the phone with the front counter person and when I arrived to get my order not only was my order not correct, I asked him to take the cheese off of two of my tacos being that I am allergic and the man at the front counter refused because he said he took great notes so he didn t care to fix it and said I can t take it off. So I asked him to make new ones and he simple said no. Love this place but if they are going to treat a regular customer like this I won t be returning!

I have no idea has this place has 4.5 stars. We had a carnitas (pork taco) - meat was dry and mostly tasteless except for the pico and guac. I had the combo plate with a crispy beef taco and cheese enchilada. Beef was a hunk of dried out roast and also flavorless. Taco was so hard that it was uncomfortable to eat and I didnt. Enchilada was edible but below average. And dining in gets you the pleasure of eating all of that out of a styrofoam take out box - even though we were and clearly stated we were dining in. Trash was overflowing and no room to throw away the uneaten food, so we just left it on top of the trash can. And it wasnt busy - there was one other table eating and someone picked up a to-go order while we were there. If you want to eat here - do so soon - because I dont see it lasting long. Food was barely edible. Parking: Plenty of spots.

This was one of our favorite spots for Cali style breakfast Burritos and other items, but seems Iike the quality is beginning to fade. Went tonight and ordered a Carne Asada Burrito, the meat was ice cold, when I addressed the issue with the staff, I got the impression that they already knew the issue, he began to say something about how they had just cleaned the grill, so I assume they didnt want to have to clean it again because it was close to closing? So instead of warming up the meat which I also am assuming wasnt cooked to order but was refrigerated they just stuck the cold meat into my Burrito and thought it would be fine. Been here more than a dozen times, but this was most likely my last time, luckily there is a new Albertos which opened in Saginaw for my Cali style Burrito fix.

Food was OKish. The refried beans were burned (had the burnt coffee taste to them) and the iced tea container is left open, and I could see the film on the tea. The trash can was overflowing. Finally we were pushed to order from the computer. So the experience was all around not good. Ive eaten here numerous times and not had issues, but it has been while. It feels like somethings changed, like management or mass employee turnover because the mood/vibe here is completely different.

With so many positive recent reviews, we decided to try. The shop was visually clean. The service was prompt and kudos because staff was a cook and a counter person, they were hopping on orders. The problem for me was the food. I ordered a potato taco and received a breakfast taco full of egg and a few potatoes. The queso and chips, this was a travesty. The cheese was microwaved in the foam container. It was so burnt from the process it was inedible. The chips were stale which gave them a weird texture when chewing. The shame is that all of the food had potential but from being old or reheating, the flavor and texture was bad- this was how it came to me fresh from the bag. I wanted to love Valerie s the way so many reviewers did. No one from my house did. Vegetarian options: Vegan includes eggs on this menu without stating.

New 2-star review. Usually I always order my food to go and have not had issues. Over a week ago on a Saturday I dinned in. How can a place that is almost new look so dirty and unkept? The tables are not clean, there are stickers covering food items on the menu and they look like they were unsuccessfully peeled off. The salsas were kept in a cart type thing in front of the soda machine with no signs of being kept under the proper temperature, it was dirty, it had spills. I had to advice my companion to avoid getting any salsa. I feel very disappointed. I was so excited about this place opening, but it seems the owner doesnt care about this restaurant. If the outside and inside of this restaurant is so dirty, what can you expect from the food? The back area where the drive-thru is should be deep cleaned. The front could use some wash too. Old 5-star review. Their California Burrito is delicious!!! The location is difficult to access but the food is really good.

I m from San Diego, and I approve!!! This is the closest/exactly-like SoCal Taco Shops that I grew up with. I had the beef rolled tacos with guacamole and lettuce and an ol fashioned Bean & Cheese burrito. The beans were right. The tortillas were exactly like those that I grew up eating. The cheese, the salsa, the hot carrots, perfect thank you!! There must be a huge line for lunch.

Southern California style Mexican food in the metroplex!!! Not Tex Mex. Go here to get your California burrito, carne asada chips, rolled tacos, pollo asada, machaca breakfast burrito, hot carrots, and that good salsa. Let s keep these guys open. LOVE the food and I feel right at home.

The line around the building indicated that what was being served inside was worth it. Should ve stuck to going through the drive-through. Unfortunately, maybe due to what appeared to be a pretty significant staffing shortage, I would highly discourage anyone from eating in the dining room. Not only did it take forever for us to get our food, but the quality of the food was beyond sub-par. The chicken in my chicken tacos was hard, crunchy and transparent with no seasoning. The taco shells were not even chewable, and the Styrofoam plate that came with my husband s enchiladas was actually melted into his food. Needless to say, what little I was able to pull out of my tacos and eat, made for a night of horrible indigestion. In cases like this, it would behoove the owners of the restaurant just to shut down the dining room so they can focus on the bulk of the customers going through the drive-through and serve quality food without the concern of impacting someone s health or dental work.

Order real mexican, no tex mex. Poblano pepper in a burrito with carnitas, sooo good. Tends to be a bit greasy at the end. Recommend the taco and Agua frescas. Tortillas were excellent!

Edit: Called this destination restaurant out for buying reviews and clearly struck a nerve. Blame the customer all you want, but soggy quesadillas and old food speaks for itself, Valerie s. Not an authentic California taco, because all the taco stands from Morrow Bay to SD serve fresh food. The flavors are familiar, but nothing was cooked fresh at all. Went for late lunch around 1pm. Only 3 employees in the place, one was on break. Ordered a burrito and taco and flan, my friend ordered a chicken quesadilla and elote. Everything came out fast and hot. Yay! Unfortunately all the food was reheated either in a microwave or on the flat top grill. Quesadilla was drowned in a pool of chicken water from the meat as it was reheated. The meat on my burrito was dry and super chewy (maybe cooked yesterday?) The shrimp had no grill marks (or flavor) and was rubbery too. They fried the shrimp on my taco instead of grilled like I ordered. There were some highlights. They whipped up a new grilled taco for me when I pointed out the fried shrimp. The burrito was huge and the taco was stuffed full too. Prices were reasonable. They have agua fresca. Best part was the flan, but Valerie s does not make or assemble it in house. Lol. I ve been to this place several times since they opened early July 2022. It hasn t improved at all. They have recently paid for another round of 5 star reviews, so be warned.

20 minutes wait for two tacos, I assume this is abnormal and I was just unlucky. Tacos were just OK, I ordered Asada and Pastor (which was more like Adobada). Tacos are big in my opinion, 2 tacos were enough for me. Their Agua Fresca was really good, real fruit which is kind of hard to find these days. Overall, decent tacos (nice corn tortillas) but nothing special, fair price, hope service is normally faster.

We definitely stop again next time Im in the area to try something else. EDIT: Went back for tacos, and they are amazing. Theyre $4 per taco but they are huge do totally worth it. My wife got the California burrito which was also awesome. Also a plus that they have a drive through!
