Surprisingly interesting trail. While there are some areas labeled as closed, there were still plenty of people out and about. Some areas are open with no tree coverage, so wear sun protection- but other areas were heavily canopied. Most areas were an easy hike, but a few places on the trail were 15 to 20 feet elevation gain in a short distance. This kept the trail interesting and lent some character to it. Overall, it s a relatively easy trail, but be prepared with proper footwear to navigate a few elevation changes. Parking: Parking was free and there was plenty available on a late Saturday morning.

I love these trails. Loops 1-4 offer the better natural scenery, and both sets of loops offer a good distance and easy-moderate difficulty hikes. Beautiful neighborhoods, waterfront views, woods, and creeks surround the trails. People along the trails are friendly, and bikers are courteous and respectful of hikers.

Great MTB trails, been using them for 20 years and they keep getting better, thanks dorba might want to visit these trails during the week because they get quite crowded on the weekends if the weather is good. Trail gets better every year, some parts are a bit technical for me so dont laugh if you see me pushing my bike up a hill!

One of the best hikes in the immediate neighborhood of grapevine. Scenic and pleasant specially during spring and fall seasons. Sometimes it gets too crowded and crazy for hiking during the weekends, specially on trails where mountain bikes are also allowed. Weekdays are perfect. The only downside is the takeoff noise from DFW airport, which you can hear almost every 30-60 seconds. This is mostly noticeable and annoying on the days planes take off northbound.

To warn anyone that is from out of state or new to area, I was told rudely by a another bike rider this is a one way trail even tho at the trail head. There is no info on the direction the trail goes till like a 1.5 miles in on a marker which you wouldnt still know bc only one side shows the direction. Need better signs at trail heads. Plus just dont be rude people

This is part of a wider system of trails around the Grapevine Lake. At this specific point theres a parking lot for about 10 vehicles. The trail runs very close to the parking and it extends for several miles as a loop. I walked about 3 hours west of it and it was a very pleasant experience, I didnt encounter other hikers but I did see 5 or 6 bicycles. I particularly like this trail because its well maintained, its quite and the difficulty is medium with a few slopes. The trail is free.

Best XC MTB trails in North Texas. Trails are in great shape, directions clearly marked, and plenty of parking. Trails 1-4 are the best pure xc trails, 5&7 are more technical. 1,2,3 are my favorites by far. Fast flowing single track, every drop and climb easily rideable. I do wish they would make certain days or hours during certain days for hiking or biking only.

Great XC Trail. Loops 1-4 are more flow, 5-7 get very tech. There are no freeride features, such as jumps, skinnys or drops, as its very much made for and maintained by XC racers, so if thats your thing, youll love this place. The drops are a few steep downhills with multiple line options and are still fun. The climbs are pretty challenging. New riders will have their hands full but can manage and advanced riders will be delighted. The dirt here (and horseshoe, same eastern cross timbers soil region) is by far the best in all of DFW. Warning: it can get a little sandy when its dry.

A little rocky closer to the water so we put on his booties, but he had a blast.
