I ve purchased from this particular Spec s many times since they opened, but tonight I was given a hard time by the cashier. I m 31, but look younger and I could tell she was going to inspect my ID top to bottom from the moment I walked up, just by the way she looked at me suspiciously. I put my two bottles of wine on the counter and instead of scanning them like every other time I ve come in, she just stared at me without moving until I managed to get my license out of my wallet. They offer a military discount so I also got my retired ID out and presented both of them to the cashier. She inspected my license front and back like she knew it was a fake (seriously who is going to make a fake ID saying they ve over 30). After holding up the license and looking back and forth at my face and my picture (in which I m 50 pounds lighter and in full makeup) she tells me my license is expired so she can t sell to me. There is no law in Texas that says you can t sell alcohol to someone over 21 simply because their license is expired. I then picked up my military ID, a legal, government issued ID, and showed her where it had my birthdate, also matching my license showing I was 31 years old. She still refused to accept it. I kept pushing the issue and she finally said she would call someone to check. A girl came out, looked at both IDs and apprehensively said it should be okay but that I needed to get my ID renewed, as if I m not aware. Even if there was a law about IDs needing to be current to sell alcohol, I had a second valid form of government-issued ID ready and presented at the start. The entire thing was completely unnecessary.

DONT DOORDASH FROM SPECS!!! If they dont have what you ordered they will completely lie to you and tell you they canceled it. I had to contact DD just to get a refund after going down there and talking to the manager. She is a liar.

Bought a gift card online as a bday gift. I do not live in TX, so I have no other way to purchase a gift card to specs. Even though the website let me purchase a gift card, specs refunded me & told me that it s not an option. The specs website needs to take the gift card purchase off. It was embarrassing to follow up & tell the person that the gift I got them actually didn t work out.

They are always out of Chillable Red (boxed wine) by Franzia. But so are a lot of places. I love Almond flavored champagne or sparkling wine. They used to carry three brands. Now they carry two. But its alright because it actually went down in price. There are several things they do not carry: Coconut flavored sparkling wine, Peach Bellini and a liquid margarita mix that is made to use in an industrial sized margarita machine. When I asked the manager if he could carry the mix for us, I was told no. He said he could not. I cant recall the reason he gave but it wasnt a good one. He was the store manager. Really? The employees are always helpful and nice. I wish I could remember the name of the female that sold me $200 worth of liquor. But she knew her stuff, especially tequila. They were out of Don Julio except one kind and one size. That was not what I was looking for. They were out of Patron. But I was happy with the two kinds that she suggested. Also, I was looking for a mid range rum to make Mojitos with. After she suggested a good rum, she told me about a coconut Mojito and I ended up getting a coconut liquor to play around with and it was delicious. Ill keep going back in hopes of running into her. She made my party great. I appreciated not having to go to another store for tequila. Finally, Specs is conveniently located. So Ill continue to go there. However, I dont think that Im building points or anything for being signed up for their emails. That would be nice.

Rude, unaccommodating staff, spoke condescendingly not letting me purchase alcohol with a group of 26-37 year olds because they saw us walk with a minor (someone who was well over 21, not a minor to be clear) who went to sit outside with our Uber. Told us we could come back in 24 hours..which is not the law and obviously makes no sense.

I like coming here because of the convenience; its near & they offer curbside. However, the last couple times Ive used the curbside option there have been issues. I went today & after 5 mins of waiting, I called to inform them that I texted my arrival and hadnt gotten it. The guy said hed have someone bring it right out. SO...I waited 15 more minutes and nothing. I went inside to see 3 people idly talking at the registers (1 looked to be a manager). I informed the cashier that Id been waiting 20 mins for curbside. She asked my name turned around & grabbed my order. No apology or anything. Otherwise, there prices and selection is decent.

Sadly, we won t be using this location again. We spent over $2100 for a wedding. At first we were told we could return the wine. Then we were told no. Once we went to return the liquor (unopened bottles), we were informed there would be a 10% restocking fee. In the three previous times we came into the store to ask about the return policy no one ever mentioned the restocking fee. They would not honor the fact that nobody told us about that 10% policy. It was just really bad customer service. There are plenty of other places now available in our area such as Liquor Depot and Goody Goody. Perhaps their customer service will be much better.
