Food here is always great. better alternative to fast food. The actual dinning area really needs to be updated. Its old and grungy . Even so I love going for lunch. This is more a review on the quality of service, not the quality of food. I had asked to remove an item from my order before it was even prepared and seconds later, the attendant serves up the meal with the item I requested not to have on the plate. As the cashier stood there looking at me with a blank stare, I broke the silence by saying, I just asked not to have this with the order. To which she replies, It s okay. It s on the side so you don t have to eat it. I explained to her that I didn t want it at all and now other food items were swimming in the gravy that I explicitly asked not to have. The male attendant politely offered to prepare the order correctly, but the female cashier interrupted him and said No, it s fine. Then she turned her back and went about her work. I still ate the food, albeit not all of it because the rest was doused in gravy. Great food! Lackluster service on the part of this one, particular, female employee.

Manager could care less the food was cold. Paid $27.00 for meals that could not be eaten . I did not want a refund but warm food would have been nice to be offered. Instead we were give ok with attitude. Grandma this is why you really have no patrons very often. We used to eat here a lot, but we will never come back.

I was hoping to have some breakfast but I guess we arrived late. I expected to be sat down by a host and order food like any other diner. The drive-thru should have given it away. I did not expect it to be like a fast food place where I had to go order at the counter. The food tasted and reminded me of the food from grade school! The roll was cold. Corn was not buttered. DO NOT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY!!!!! I love Grandys. I had to explain to my friend what Grandys was..... It boiled down to, the frozen section of all the food you like to eat, except its made at home. Everything is amazing, the restaurant is always clean. Ive even seen the employees scrub the floor boards along the wall. By far one of the cleanest establishments in all of El Paso. I went there to eat, came out learning how to clean.

Service took a while, my fried pickles looked like they had been under a heat lamp all day. Got green beans instead of beans and got a pool of gravy with my country fried steak. Have been to this Grandys plenty of times and I have to say customer service has never been a priority, particularly from the manager. On numerous occasions, chicken is not available and we have to wait. Okay we will wait, but today one of the specials was the chicken nugget meal and guess what? They dont have chicken nuggets!! This was at 11:15 a.m. I was told by the manager that they would not offer any substitutes and that it was not our fault that the truck had not arrived. As I left, I noticed that the truck was being off loaded in the back. Could the manager not made an effort to expedite the off loading of the chicken nuggets off the truck and tell me that it may be an hour or less wait? Truly this manager needs training. Grandys you can do much better than this!!! People dont waste your time purchasing from Grandys in El Paso, go elsewhere.

Grandys food is delicious! However, everytime we decide we want to go to this Grandys, its a flip of the coin. Whether we want to endure the angry, disgruntled employees when ordering a meal, or going somewhere else a little friendlier. Once youve ordered and you are in the dining room, all is well, but yesterday was quite an experience having to endure a very angry rude young lady when ordering, and to top it off, the owner or manager was standing right next to her! Then, to make things worse, they send her over to sweep and mop the whole restaurant with her angry disgruntled attitude, while people were continuing to come in and sit down to eat. I dont know how their cleaning routine goes, but clearly, 3:30 is not a good time to mop the whole restaurant. Especially with alot of people continuing to come in. Sweeping, ok. But mopping at such a busy time of day? Manager, or no manager. Its pretty clear that these employees dont get any training on customer service. Grandys used to have very friendly employees. What happened?

And also a big plus that you have a mix of young and experienced workers.. this kind of place is where you go to have comfort food without a high price and you can have a conversation unlike most new places where the music is blasting so loud you can t hear .go give them a try.

I was so disappointed with the food . The prices was to steep for the quality. The cobbler was awful I tried the peach and the dough was not cooked. The cherry my husband ate and the dough was hard. My shrimp had no flavor .the chicken was bland and even the rolls had no flavor. The ice tea was not fresh. The people at the counter was nice but that was the only highlight in my awful meal.

I went yesterday and asked for a breaded chicken plate with corn and mash potatoes and gravy. I have been eating at this place for years. This particular time, the chicken was pink raw. When I spoke with the manager she was short and stocky lady. She was rude and unprofessional in her handling the issue. She told me that she would give me another plate of the same thing. I told her the chicken is raw why would I want another plate of the same raw food. She did not even give me a refund of the money I spent. This person needs some training on handling clients in a professional manner. It was a let down years of trust in this business down the drain.

A real comfort food place for me from now on. Employees are super sweet and attentive, food is to die for, and prices are absolutely amazing for what you get! Only two things, be prepared to buy a drink seperately from your meal, and the bathrooms arent the best (one womans stall lock was broken, so it wont stay closed. That or Im just stupid lol.) We went in for cinnamon rolls and the cashier seemed bothered. The place was near empty. The cinnamon rolls were cold and not as good as they used to be. I remember the rolls being warm and fluffy with the frosting melting off. Albertsons cinnamon rolls are better and cheaper. I paid over $17 for flat, cold rolls. Not worth it. Will not be returning.

Really good food, staff was amazing as well. Me and the cashier had such good conversation we introduced ourselves to one another....the owner even sat with us for a little while and chit chatted. I was told this place was soul food, but now that I have gone I would say it is more southern food not necessarily soul.....good nonetheless! Kid-friendliness: My granddaughters and I used to go every Sunday after church, and they loved this place. We stopped going because they moved to San Antonio, and I moved to the other side of town. It is still my choice when I am on the east side of town... I love this place!

Food was okay, service was nice but the atmosphere and decor is depressing. I felt kind of awkward eating - it was way too quiet in the eating area. Lol turn up the music just a litttttle bit. Also, cleanliness needs some more attention. With that kind of decor, everything shows up. Countertops need to be wiped thoroughly, signs with writing taped on soda machines need to be replaced with something more professional. Overall ok, but this place needs a little tlc.

This place has definitely changed from what it used to be (and not for the better). The atmosphere was ok and so was the service. But the food tasted as if it had all been purchased pre-made in a bag/box. Also, they no longer serve biscuits nor cinnamon biscuits (just cinnamon rolls) and most of the side dishes are flavorless. Such a shame, really, for a place that once showed its love off by serving up good comfort food to now be known for sub-par cuisine.

Ordered a three piece chicken dinner. Paid a $1.09 extra for a white piece breast and they cheated me , took my money and gave me a tiny wing.. Breakfast was very delicious! Biscuits were fresh and soft. Gravy was perfect consistency and didnt taste too salty like other places. Fired steak was ok but the bacon looked nice and crispy. Pancakes tasted exactly like McDonalds pancakes which I liked. Staff was friendly and service was quick. A bit outdated decor but overall clean.

Just went through the drive thru and had the worst customer service EVER!!! First of all our order took forever and then we didnt get our bread. When I asked where was our bread? The lady tells me oh the bread wont be ready for another 10 minutes How do you not account for this during the lunch rush??? Then they told us to pull up to number 1 and forgot about us!!! Now my food is cold and I didnt get any bread nor an apology!!! ATTN: MANAGEMENT PLEASE HIRE COMPETENT PEOPLE!!

The food was not as expected. It was acceptable but not above average. The server was friendly and helpful. I am handicapped. Was not offered assistance when they could see I struggled to carry tray, oxygen tank and other items.

The place is pleasant to the eyes, it is the first time I go, but it is not for my palate. I ordered a fish & shirp dish, with green beans and puree (very dry by the way), the other cat fish dish which on the blackboard was with two steaks and when served it only came one, it is an expensive place and the food served in disposables which for my taste detracts from the category of the place, before the option of my plate I asked for a sandwich and a girl who was not serving me said rudely that there was no sandwich that was promoted, I saw a billboard in which they promoted a lunch with pancakes I asked since it was lunch time and again the girl who was not serving me told me again that there were none. They should be promoting only what they have, not offering a varied menu. It was debut and farewell to that place. Giving courtesy classes to your employees wouldnt hurt at all.
