Absolutely terrible experience, we had a reservation and the establishment did not respect the maximum time allowed to arrive. They probably gave the table to another group without a second thought (Really? you couldnt wait a few min?) Keep in mind if you make a reservation there is a chance your max time to arrive will not be respected and you will end up wasting over an hour of your time waiting for another one to open up. Worst of all, they told us the food is gonna be another hour to be served. Never consider this place again unless you wanna throw away 2 hours of your time.

Food was OK and overpriced, like most restaurants now. Table had no tablecloth and table surface was sticky. Sticky table definitely took away from our dining experience. Had to request new silverware because what was originally provided had dried food on the fork. For price and lacking atmosphere I would not return.

Ended up walking out after sitting at a table for 15 minutes waiting for a server. Ask three people and were ignored. Keep in mind there was only four tables in the entire restaurant filled at this time. It wasnt until we were walking out the door that the manager came up behind us. At this point we were ready to go. They need some serious work on their staff.

The wait was long at the table waiting for our chef. The chef was nice and friendly and did a great job. Out server was below average. The food was average. We were a party of 3. We tipped the chef $20 cash for his friendliness. Then at the check we wanted to tip 15% the waitress since she wasn t the greatest. She came back with our cash and said we were missing the suggested tip, my husband told her we wanted to Tip 15% since we tipped the chef cash $20 and we didn t want to be forced to tip more than 15%. She started shaking and said you can talk to the manager if you wish. I had to say leave it alone and we ended up forced to leave a tip of 20% on top of the $20 cash we gave the chef. We are not coming back, and we are telling the world about our bad experience.

Came to Koze for the first time last week with my husband and his parents who were in town for the evening! My husband is a fan of hibachi style cuisine so we looked up a spot near our home and Koze was the first to pop up! They also had good reviews so we were all for it. When we first arrived the hostess asked if we wanted to be seated at the grill (for show) or the dining room. Since my husband does like watching the cook do his thing, we opted to wait the 15-20 minutes for a grill to become available. Next time we will definitely make note to call ahead and make a reservation though! Once we were seated we looked over the menu to see our options. I will say that the service at Koze was a bit lacking. Our waitress took quite a while to come around for our drink order, main course and then at the end of the evening for us to pay our bill. I m not sure if she was serving a lot of other tables for the night but that was just our experience. It would have been nice if she came around more so we weren t looking for her. My husbands parents got the shrimp and scallop meal to split, my husband ordered the chicken and scallops. I, however, decided to try their sushi - so I got the California roll and the BBQ salmon roll. Once the chef came around to start cooking (which took quite a while) he started the show. I will also note that there was a bit of a language barrier between us and the chef. He tried asking us questions, such as if we were celebrating a birthday, but it was very hard for us to understand what he was saying. We could also tell he was a bit new at the job because certain tricks he d mess up on or had to try a couple times before he got it right. For the food, I will say that I did enjoy my sushi. Both rolls were delicious! My husband ate mostly the protein on his plate. They give a huge portion of fried rice for the main courses, it s definitely enough for two people. I believe his parents said they thought the meal was good as well. I think it came down to the service we received which kind of left a bad impression. The food was good it was just the lack of service that left me wanting more. I know there are other hibachi restaurants in El Paso. I will probably try those with my husband. I wouldn t mind coming back to Koze, I understand maybe they were just having a bad day. But I would also try other places.

This is a nice place for a date night with strangers lol. They will sit you on a hibachi grill with as many strangers as they can find and dangle shrimp over your mouth until it goes into your dates fun bags. Then you have to discreetly fish it out in-front of everyone. This place was awesome when it opened. The cooks were so funny and interactive. Now they just spin the spatula on there finger and yell hu! And expect you to tip them for getting oil on your 60 dollars suit you bought at Ross to impress your date. The restrooms are disgusting, to be fair the men s and women s. The floor are so greasy that your shoes will slide as if you are riding the airport floor belt to go faster to your table. It s Hibachi! And it is expensive. With two decent entrees loaded with rice to distract you from the protein stack, two non alcoholic drinks one sushi roll and a desert, expect to spend about 100 bucks! I would say if you have never experienced a hibachi show, don t do it lol look it up on tik tok while you eat your Panda Express at home lol!

I actually did not enjoy this restaurant. As soon as we walked in we did not receive friendly greetings. Wanted to eat at the grill but they said it would be a 30 minute wait so we opted for just regular menu teppanyaki dinners. Soup and house salad were tasty however the actual dinners we got we both did not like. My chicken dinner had little flavor and my veggies seemed almost raw. Hubbies chicken and shrimp he did not like and said his shrimp was over cooked and rubbery and again veggies were almost raw. Never got a refill on my drink while I was there either. Even though they said there was a wait for the grill they started it up 5 minutes after they sat us at a table and there were still 4 seats open at the grill.

I had reserved for a party of 20 and was told we would have two hours, after an hour we were told we had to leave since another reservation was coming, my party was still eating and they had to put their food in a to go box because of us being told to leave. I felt very embarrassed telling my guests we had to leave, i will never be booking for a party at this restaurant again. I think management did not organize my party reservation correctly, when i did it in advance to avoid this. I was very disappointed but i learned my lesson not to book for a party at KOZE again.

We normally have a good time, but this was horrible. We came in as a group of 6 tonight, my order was taken first both times (for drinks and for meal) and all of my items were forgotten. The waiter (Khalil or Khalid) wasn t very good, and somehow forgot that I ordered a drink and food. Both times we had to ask for my order way after my husband and our friends had gotten their drinks and food, and he replied with oh you ordered something? I left pretty upset, because it was horrible service. There was also a hair in my water and he continued to fill it up even though we asked for a new cup. I would like the managers number to speak to them because this was really horrible service. I was lucky that the chef had let me have some rice that was left over after the others had their meal. If it wasn t for him I wouldn t have ate. I ll be calling tomorrow to speak to a manager bc this is really unacceptable

Great atmosphere upon entering the restaurant. Food was typical of a hibachi place. Service was average and the hostess was there only for arrivals and reservations. Biggest issue with this place is reservations made in advance. My reservation was at 9:00 pm and when we arrived, we still had to wait. People not on reservation came in and waited at most 10 minutes. Do not make reservations if you believe there will be a table ready. One and done for me, hope you all enjoy when you experience this facility.

Tip: Be very selective and avoid the hibachi. We spent $500 for 4 people and had the worst hibachi experience. The food was excessively salty, the wait was excruciating, and the chefs gimmicks were unnecessary (tossed egg at every member at the hibachi 3-5 times) . The spicy shrimp was rubbery and overcooked. Only one sushi roll out of four was enjoyable. The rice was cold, and the salad was overdressed. Drinks were subpar. Our server was excellent, but overall, I wont be returning or recommending this place

I absolutely love the food here however this is not a place for big parties. We were a party of 14 and I was told I had to pay a reservation fee of $80 to reserve the 2 tables. When we arrived they ended up sitting us 20 minutes after our reservation time and we were on time and no one was at the tables they sat us. The hostess is rude. It took a while for the chefs to come out then 30 minutes after the chefs came out they told us we needed to leave because our reservation time was up. We were celebrating a birthday and we didnt even get to sing happy birthday. Then while paying then were suppose to remove the 80 from our ticket as they told us they would but they forgot once I reminded her she came back with a new receipt and told us the gratuity changed and we could add more since taking off the 80 we already paid change the amount of the gratuity. I had never been asked that. I dont mind tipping and we had already tipped the chef but it was the way it came out. Ive never had a bad experience here but I will not return in a group again.

We went here last night to celebrate my sons birthday. The very unwelcoming hostess who seemed she hates her job; I am talking about the chunky lady (lack of better terms) with red hair and wearing horrible make up, sat us down on 2 small tables (mind you we are party of 5), and one of the tables is so wobbly. She knew it was so wobbly because she put those tables together, she just didnt care. She really ruined the night with her attitude towards us. IDK if shes going through something, or shes just plainly rude. Koze management should not assign her as a hostess as shes the first person the customers are going to interact to, and if shes rude and unwelcoming, then the whole experience will go downhill from there.

It was a little hot in the corner back grill but our performance was amazing. The man we got used to be a teacher for 6th grade and my son adored him. It was a delight to find this spot on a Thursday evening. We sat at the Grill and the Manager was prompt to sit our party followed by Alan our waiter who was very attentive and full of knowledge when it came to some recommendations. I decided to try some sushi as appetizers. I think I can visit this place and strictly have a couple rolls. The unique rolls they have are something else. I tryed some Nigiri Rolls and a Playboy roll that is not on their online menu. Coconut shrimp in that roll!! What an amazing roll. Then Jay came out and slayed on the grill from his attention to entertain but also the fact that he served all sides and protiens at the same time piping hot at their perfect cooking points full of flavor. Perfect seasoning! I thanked them all for the amazing time and food. 100% recommend!

BEWARE!!! Food is good, however on Facebook I saw someone make a video and say Koze manipulates debit/credit card charges and people get charged two separate charges . Sure enough I told my parents who paid with their debit card for $103. That night my dad saw an additional charge of $183. He called his bank and get credited immediately. Something shady is going on at this establishment and someone or something is manipulating people who pay via card. Koze knows about this because the manager has been made aware by the person who put out a warning about this on Facebook. BEWARE AND CHECK YOUR BANKING ACCOUNTS IF YOU EAT HERE.

We had a large group. They needed more servers. We waited a long time to be seated (the whole party must be there to be seated), but with several parties waiting, the foyer was too small. Then, we waited a long time for one side of the table to receive the soup and salad on the Habachi dinner. So, one side was eating while we still waited. The cooks were good. The food was good! Kid-friendliness: Not very kid-friendly

They do military discount, however when I paid with my card, they took it out. Overall, good food. The duck was not what I was expecting. Calamari was a bit yo crunchy/hard. The filet minion and lobster were good.

I really wanted to like this place. With the lack of great Asian cuisine here, I was hoping that Id finally have a go to when it comes to satisfying my craving for Japanese food. I tried it and was left underwhelmed. We started with the miso soup which was a little cold, but good. The shrimp tempura, while abundant, was very heavy and tasted of oil. To top it off, it was over drizzled with mayonnaise and another sauce. Not my favorite. We also had alcoholic drinks, which while pretty, they were also very watered down. For the entree I got the chicken and shrimp with the side of rice and veggies. The rice was okay. The chicken and shrimp were both sauced with the same thing, Im assuming a soy glaze. The shrimp were also a little fishy. Very lack luster experience, but our hostess was excellent. The lava cake was also standard. Overall 1 appetizer, 2 drinks, 2 entrees and 1 dessert = >130.00 its pretty steep for what we got. Ive had better experiences from food trucks in Hawaii.

If I could rate it 0 stars, I would. We called this morning at 11:34 AM and spoke with a man and They told us to come at 4:30 to have a seat at the grill today. Because yesterday, we got there at 12:00 and they said we have to wait an hour to sit at the grill. We get there, they said we cant be seated until 6:00. That is ridiculous! How you tell us to come at 4:30 and then we get there, you say we have to wait until 6:00! Thats ok, we wont be back. I guess thats El Paso for you

Typical night at koze, great food. Mediocre service. Chef was great, server was lackluster at best. Hope you carry hundreds in cash as running your card will cost an additional 3%. Minutes after our chef was done cleaning, we were told we needed to leave in 5 minutes for the next group. We hadnt even received our check yet. Could definitely use some improvements on their customer service.

Sadly, it was a poor experience. The food was decent, but the service had flaws. We werent provided with utensils and had to ask for napkins twice after being served with appetizer and two sushi sides. The biggest flaw is that we got our ticket to pay when we didnt even receive the main entry that we ordered. That dish (Marina special) cost near 38$ plus an extra 5-9 dollars to make that supposed dish for two. The sushi koze was good, really good flavor and temperature.

Great food, bad service. Got charged the wrong tables bill and was told it would be refunded. Now I call back and it will take 3-5 business days. A bill that should have been $40, came back with the receipt of $90. Luckily I caught it but this wait time is ridiculous.

You cant throw extra, unusual charges at people after the meal is over. Found out after the meal that If you use a card to pay they charge an extra 3%. Then they charged me an automatic 20% tip... wth? Isnt tip based upon service? Isnt tipping, and how much i tip my choice? When i questioned our waitress about it she just kind of blew me off and said i didnt have an option. I scratched out the tip and replaced it with a well deserved 15% but they still charged my card the full 20%. I was planning on tipping more until i saw all the additional fees. Its not the money, its the principal. Bad business practices. Shady. As far as the food... Sushi here is great but the rest is mediocre at best. You pay big bucks for the grill experience. Which is fun. We didnt sit at a grill. We paid big bucks for mediocre food and unadvertised additional charges. Unhappy, unsatisfied customer.

Horrible service. Waitress did not bring correct order and we had to request it from someone else not even serving our table. They charge you 18% gratuity up front for each check (we were a party of 4 with split checks) plus a 3% service fee for using a credit card. I decided to pay cash to avoid the fee but they didn t even give me my correct change back( i was missing $3.33). I had to request my change at the bar and the manager told me that they would give me the $3 missing but that they normally just round up is this a new thing where customers don t get their full change back anymore? Management of this place needs improvement. I used to love this place. Not returning anymore.

They burnt my filet steak. Asked for medium and it was so burnt some of it was crispy. Then I got shocked by the bill. It was almost twice the price! The manager is the one that sat us and gave us our menu. He gave us lunch menus and then they charged us dinner prices. The other group we sat with was also shocked about the price. The grill table cook was under whelming. Won t be back, would not recommend.

Koze never seems to disappoint me! Ive dined in at the grill and dining area. Sushi is fresh and has so much flavors, even my taste buds were doing the happy dance. The experience at the grill is hands down the best Teppan Grill in El paso. I can most certainly tell that Koze pride themselves on quality! Yummy-ness everywhere!

The food was excellent here. The staff made sure drinks were refilled and kept the table clean during the various stages of the meal. Only complaint is reservation system. If you are wanting to sit at the Teppanyaki Grills make a reservation in advance, which you can only do by calling. I wish there was an online system like OpenTable for these reservations. We called on a Friday at 1700 and we re able to get a reservation for 3 the same Saturday.

Arrived at 4:35 for an early dinner and it wasn t crowded. They had happy hour specials varying from beer to well drinks for $2 or $3. I had the mango margarita with takin on the rim. Also, I had the Hawaiian playboy as an appetizer, despite the jalapeños it wasn t spicy but still delicious. I saved some room for the soup and salad that came with my main meal combo of NY steak and chicken. The meat portion was a little small but still appetizing.

The food is great. Our waitress was a little distracted, but honestly we all have bad days and can t judge their service just based on this specific visit.
